"Turn Around..."

One shot fic. (Not relating to any of the established series.) This is a bit different from what I normally draft up, kind of like the Robin Hood one shot, which is also a non-yandere fic like this one. Pls enjoy.

Summary: You and Heeseung had a break up, despite all that has happened, you find out that you weren't the only one hurting.

“Hey.” he stands calmly at the door. You avoid making eye contact, too nervous and shy on what to say. A bit of a ridiculous notion considering you knew the man very well, dated for quite some time in fact, yet the lack of his efforts drove you to the point where you had to kill off the relationship, for our own happiness. The only issue was, that you’re not sure if you’re any happier now than you were when dating him. Nodding, you respond back with a soft “hey…” 

Walking in, his initiative causes you to walk back. He lets himself in and gently shuts the door behind, never breaking his sight away from you. You kept shifting your sight from one area on the floor, to another. He continues to take his steps forward, and you keep taking them back. Soon, he has you pinned against the wall. Palming the wall, one hand off to each side, he traps you in his arms and leans in, wanting to get closer. You dip down and swoop under his arm to get away freely into the open space, walking over to the living room, much to his grimace dismay. 

Sitting on one end of the couch, you cross your legs and prop your hands up to rest your chin. Intent on avoiding eye contact, you look away and kept your face in the opposite direction. He walks over calmly and sits next to you. 

“Y/n….”

“Heeseung stop. Could you please just get your things and go? I’m not in the mood to talk.” you snap, rubbing your temples as you adjust your body to shift up and away, standing before the tall window, waiting for him to move along and to get out. But he doesn't. 

Looking up from where you were just sitting, he remains on the couch wide eyed and slightly appalled. Sure, he went along with the break up, even dabbled and went on some dates even though you both had just broken up merely two weeks ago. However, it didn’t mean that he wasn’t hurting either. He only went and saw other girls just to try and take his mind off of you, but how are you supposed to know? He left you no choice, you didn’t ever see your relationship coming to an end. You worked and tried to get through to him, but he never listened, so then you were left with no choice but to break things off, yet you couldn’t help but feel stabbed when his nonchalant attitude and response to your initiation was given, almost too easily, as if he was thinking about breaking up himself. 

Seeing you standing in that silk camisole dress, lazily covered with the matching satin short robe over it, had him feeling some type of way. How long has it been since he saw you like this? No makeup, hair laying freely and barely dressed. You looked so beautiful, stunning in fact, and yet your body language and attitude made you achievable for him to grab hold on. Did he really lose you for good?

“Y/N…” he tries once more, keeping a respectable distance away, so as to not add any fuel to the fire. “Can’t we just talk?”

That did it for you. NOW, he wants to talk? Now? After seeing a handful of girls, pretending like you no longer mattered after you presented him with the words “I’m not sure if this is working out…I wished you would just be more considerate, yet you just always put me off to the side. Maybe we should consider a brea–” 

Remember the tone he had in his voice, he cut you off and finished your sentence, almost as if he was eager and looking forward to the word…as if he was taking your initiation as an opportunity to end everything without having to do the dirty work himself. “Break? Yeah sure, I think that would be good for us.” he told you. Never once trying to figure out the meaning behind your initiative, nor did he ever try to fight for you. But now, it seems he had a change of heart, but you weren’t wanting to hear any of it. Not after having a string of girls by his side the last few nights. What were you? A rebound? Were you just a safety net since it didn’t work out with those girls? What is this? 

Turning away, you snapped in a harsh tone. “No!”

“What?” His voice was a little more firm, and he seemed a bit irritated by your attitude. 

“I said no. I don't want to talk.” 

“Why are you–” he pauses. “Y/n…you act like you’re the only one that is affected by all this. You’re not. I’m struggling too, you know.” 

“Yeah, I can tell. You’re hurting so much, how many girls did you seek out for comfort? Five? We’ve only broken up two weeks ago and you never once wanted to talk, until now.” 

Standing from his seat, he grew offended by your words and replaced his soft and gentle gaze with a more stern and harsh one. Walking over to you, he nearly traps you in as he breaches your personal space and begins to walk you back to the wall, again. 

“What? You think those girls meant something? Seriously?”

“Are you kidding me? Don’t pretend you’re hurting, you nearly jumped for joy when I brought up the idea of taking a break. You think I don’t know? Get over yourself Heeseung!” Turning sharply, you try to get away from him, but his movements are quick and he restricts your fleeing attempts by hugging you from behind. You struggle and try to break free, yet the moment he pushes forward with you grasped in his arms, shoving you up against the wall chest first and his chin resting on your shoulder, burying his face in your neck, you begin to falter, but mentally maintain your resistance. Taming you, he senses your physical strength decreasing front he struggles, and continues to push you in, resting you on the flat surface as he closes the distance between your backside and his chest. Stroking his thumb, he caresses your waist as he hugs tightly. With small brush strokes of his lip, he softly pecks on the soft area of your neckline. 

“Stop…” You whimper out, trying to ignore the beautiful sensation of how his lips felt gently kissing, and sucking on your skin. “Stop…please….get away…”

With your arms pinned to your body by his embrace, you reach up and lean your palms against the wall, pressing your body against his. You tilt your head back, resting it against his shoulder, you didn’t want him to stop, nor did you want him to leave. But you had to be strong, for the sake of mending your broken heart. So, with a shaky breath, you whined out. 

“Get away…” you nearly whispered, your hair draping over your face and your robe coming undone, bearing the nakedness of your shoulders and cleavage. “Just…get away…”

A slight pause was present, before he leans in and resumes his efforts as he takes in a mouthful of your soft skin, just below your ear, this time he was less gentle and more rough in his manners. 

“I said no….” you whimpered. His arms tightened around your arms and waist, and he slightly lifts you before shoving you further up against the wall, pressing your cheek to rest against the surface before whispering in your ear…

“I don't believe you.” 

Shooting his hand around, he lifts the hem of your camisole up and fingers his way through panties. He called you out on your bluff and you didn’t seem to mind, because now you get to show how much you missed him, that you didn’t want to leave. You get to show him that you were hurting, and that he left you without any options or hope to continue forward, that you were just at the lowest part of your life. He knew it too. He wasn’t being his best self with you, in fact he was selfish and led you with so many false promises, it’s no wonder you proposed a break up. It didn’t hit him until you started to usher out those words, but before you could finish, he beat you to the punch, all because he saved himself from the heartbreak of hearing you say it, so he had to say it first. Figuring he would save himself by hurting you, then to be hurt directly, he found that it was all for nothing. Right after walking away and leaving you to go on your own, a sharp pain hits him inside, and he immediately regrets it. He regretted going with the flow, and letting you go so easily. Fact is, he turned around, wanting to run back after you, but seeing your backside facing him, walking in the opposite direction without so much as a glance back over to him, compelled him to look the other way and to move forward, after all, it seemed you had no trouble doing just that. 

Taking your hand, he intertwined his fingers with your own, his kisses became more passionate and his embrace became tighter as his hands roamed. God he missed you. He missed how your body felt against his, and how your skin tasted. He missed how you sounded when he kissed that one little spot on your neck, and how your body shakes when he touches you. He missed you too much.

Now, he understands that you made your way back home in tears that night, and longed for him to come back to you. 

He gulps. In a single brief moment, your entire relationship flashes before his eyes, and he realizes that not only did he not give you his best during, but he didn’t give it to you after. Yeah, he tried to get his mind off you by going on dates, but how were you supposed to know that? He started to think how his behavior must have looked to you…how hurtful it must have been to hear about his rendezvous while you were sitting here longing for him to come back. But what killed him in all of this was that, had he just been less attentive towards his friends and set his priorities straight, none of this would have happened. How many times did he come home and skip eating the dinner you prepared, all because he decided to eat with the guys after work. Or whenever you asked to spend time with him, and he promised you he would have another day, one where he didn’t have plans, yet that day never came. How many times did he wake up, shower, and quickly breezed through the kitchen and sees that you prepared breakfast for him, yet instead of sitting and eating with you, thanking you for taking the time to feed him, he picks bits and pieces off his plate and heads out while jutting out the words “see ya!” and quickly leaves so he could be the first in line at the coffee shop…that coffee shop…the coffee shop you loved yet he never took you with. He knew your favorite order yet never brought you back anything. He was always so focused in grabbing his drink and heading to work, where he could spend nearly the entire day chilling out with the guys doing what they love, spending a great deal of overtime, before finally calling it a night. How many times did he have the opportunity to come back home, especially after seeing all his friends dipping out to go back to their loved ones that were waiting for them…and yet he stayed back, opting to hit up buddies who were single and could spare the time, instead of coming back home to you. How many times did he come back home so late at night, finding you already asleep. How many times did he crawl into bed with you, and instead of hugging you and kissing you, he turns the opposite direction and falls asleep, leaving you to not only feel lonesome during the day when you’re awake, but at night when you’re asleep too. Just how many times…did he take you for granted? 

He didn’t have any words. He felt hurt…he felt a great deal of pain, and it was nothing that you did, you were great…you were perfect in fact. The one that hurt him was himself.

So we've all assumed that Seth is the safest LI for the longest time. But I have hard evidence that this is the complete opposite from the truth.

Here's the thing: I don't have an actual problem with Dick and Wally being best friends. They are, canonically, and I recognize that, and even write it a lot. I do have a problem with the way fandom completely devalues Wally as an entire character and his own person and makes him exist solely for the sake of Dick. Like, yeah, Wally spends a LOT more time with Piper than he ever does with Dick. Wally has a wife and children. Wally has a very, very, extremely busy life usually juggling multiple teams at once. Dick is not the be-all, end-all of his existence. You wouldn't know that from reading fic. You'd think that Wally lives in Gotham and doesn't have any goals or friends or plans of his own that don't involve Dick in some capacity. You'd think he only thinks about Dick 24/7 (also why I HATE Tom Taylor's Nightwing, like, Wally doesn't have time to be checking on Dick nonstop like that, and it's also not at all in line with their relationship, he doesn't even check on his ACTUAL WIFE like that, and Linda is his favourite person in the world).

Wally is actually...significantly more accomplished than Dick, but that also tends to get glossed over and downplayed a lot. Wally isn't just supportive Best Friend Dude, he's an impatient, temperamental, stubborn idiot who also values the relationships he has with people and tends to operate as the heart of whatever team he's on. Even when Wally is mad at people, he will try to have everyone getting along, but he will also simultaneous be a bitch about it because he's kind of a bitch. Wally can be SUPER mean, too. Just look at Kyle! Another character who he is super close to and gets ignored by a lot of fandom who only know and treat Wally as an extension of Dick.

People say Dick is friends with everyone in DC, but honestly I think Wally fits that bill significantly more (even when people don't like him) becuase he's been on so many different teams and has connections to so many more. He's been on like four different iterations of the Justice League, he hangs with the JSA, he's out there with the Titans, and he'll be managing two cities on his own on just...a regular daily basis. He has relationships with super obscure characters from all corners of DC. Wally has beef with Captain Atom, for crying out loud. Who even cares about Captain Atom??? just saw a post talking abt why dex (and jack at one point) from check please would be banned from aux at parties (im not reblogging bc it is from 2020 and i dont want to argue with anyone i just want to explain why im right LMAO) and all of the reasons they gave were. What. i had a haus of my own, only for a significantly larger team (track not hockey), and i know my experience is not universal and there's definitely someone out there who Also had a team and a team house w big parties that disagrees w everything i say etc etc but like. it is so odd to see people's ideas abt how that goes when it's the complete opposite of my experience

me rambling abt expectations vs reality for music at parties hosted by doofus athletes for doofus athletes below the cut with a short aside about how canon's housing is deeply confusing to me

it's not just party music assumptions that confuse me, it's on all sorts of levels, like the haus being their only team related off campus space. we had... 11?? off campus houses?? and even if you narrow it down to just houses w mens distance runners in it (approx the same number of people as umich's hockey team rosters) then we had 5 houses plus underclassmen in dorms. like the math is not mathing if there's just the 3 bedroom plus attic haus. what 21/22 year old is choosing to live in a traditional dorm. there's just no way your options as an upperclassman are "be lucky enough to be one of Maybe 6 that can squeeze in if several people share rooms" or "live in dorms. hopefully you get a single" when theoretically they should be averaging like 6.5 people per class year. not the point, a gripe i have w canon really anyways, whatever.

but the collective sense of what goes for party music... i get that the canon era is like 2013 to 2018 or so but like i have met some of our class of 2018 alumni. and i feel preeetty confident in saying the below was also true then.

i am turning 32 in a few days and i have thoughts about it

here's the thing yall. i'm so much happier just being an unhinged weirdo 100% of the time as opposed to making myself palatable and code switching and all of that bullshit. it's SO TIRING. you know what isn't, though? literally just not giving a fuck anymore and just. doing what makes sense in the moment.

that doesn't mean "live without consideration of others", or "live with no filter", or "be insufferable 24/7". like, there are still times where i need to be professional and shit. but what i mean is, instead of making myself smaller - it is so much better to just stick to my guns when you KNOW you know something, and to be honest but unapologetic when you don't.

stick up for yourself. if something feels wrong in your gut, say so. if something feels right, celebrate it. pursue the weird shit you aren't sure if you're gonna like or not. wasted time is time you spent saying "man i wish i did [insert new experience here] today" instead of actually just going out and doing the thing. man, my depression was SO bad for the last, whatever, three years - between being assaulted *again* and stalked and being a nurse at a research hospital throughout the roughest waves of covid, having to resuscitate my neighbors son literally like a week after moving into a new place... fuck, idk. it was just blow after blow after blow after blow and i just felt like, so super hollow.

I literally would come home, crawl in bed, shut off my phone, and talk to no one until I had to go back into work again. friends, family, didn't matter. I hid from EVERYONE and everything and tried to just muscle through it all by myself. and it was the fucking WORST. like, the darkest place I've ever been in, without question.

(real life human company brought me NO joy at all. opposite, even. i would just dread seeing or interacting with anybody at all. most of the time if i talked to anyone, it was to ?people? that weren't there. not like i was hallucinating, or delusional, i knew nobody was really there, i just. idk. it's hard to explain, but i guess if i had to give it a label ... maladaptive daydreaming?)

and now i'm at a place in my life where... yeah, i still have those days where i wake up feeling like "damn. i can't believe i have to probably keep doing this shit for another thirty to fifty goddamn years." not like, suicidal but just exhausted at the very concept of how long and arduous life is and how you just have to keep going for the sake of other people and how fucking *tiring* that is. but, i also have a lot of days where even though i feel terrible, i force myself to get up and do what i need to do no matter how i'm feeling, because if i didn't, i'd literally just sit in bed and say to myself, man, wish i had gone and done that thing today. and i guess that even if life is long and exhausting and tiring, i'd rather be exhausted for a good fucking reason.

so that's why it's so important to me these days to be all in on just pursuing ... idk. whatever seems worthwhile, even if it's hard. there's still this really unbearable, heavy sadness that i grapple with every fuckin day - but you know what makes the sadness a little duller? thinking that i did some good for someone else today, or that i made someone laugh, or feel good about themselves. and the other thing that helps is just allowing myself to feel good, even if other people don't "get" it. i will unabashedly declare my love for a fictional skeleton on main, or i will show up to the function wearing my hair like fucking Misa Amane, or i will talk to cool looking bugs i find on my walks to tell them they look pretty even if they don't know what the fuck I'm saying and I dont!!!! care anymore!!!!! doing these things make me happy! and you know what? i know, FOR A FACT, that being open and honest about how much these things make me happy... makes *other people happy too*. and also empowers them to be able to be more true to themselves!

and there's something else to that, too. the more i like myself and allow myself to be happy, the more self respect i gain - which means suddenly, taking up space in the world doesn't feel like something inherently bad or undeserved.

about the siblingification of friendships, sorry im totally about to make myself a stand in for steve here, but im an only child, i have felt v lonely, and i have this one friend who calls her close girl friends sisters,, and i just do not feel it, i love her, and she is one of my best friends, but i just do Not see her as a sibling. and i think steve would be the same way tbh, also my most sibling adjacent feelings have been for ppl around 5 years younger than me (just like Steve & the kids/teens<3) but unlike steve, i haven't had any intense trauma to increase the chance for sibling bonding.

idk i just think that it would take More for steve to feel sibling feelings for ppl around his own age or older.

i also think that when u have been on ur own a lot it's like, sure u want ppl around, but also u need ur space bc u're used to it, idk maybe thats just me lol. i also have an intense need for personal space and like my things are my things and no one better fucking touch it, (i mean u can but if u pick stuff up I'll be annoyed, sorry) but also i Crave physical affection, and sorry i think this is just a "why i relate to steve/things i project onto steve" list, oops.

HOWEVER two only children who are very used to doing their own thing suddenly being very clingy with each other?? oh I just know there were growing pains. like they want to be around each other but also being around someone means Being Around Someone. they definitely had to figure out a system to make sure they dont murder each other lol

YES i do x reader or x oc or x yn. those are basically everything i do that a lot since i’m the most comfortable and like those the most, SO SPEAKING ABOUT THAT i do not do character x character IM SORRY I HAD TO SAY IT. i will only do character x character if those to are TOGETHER CANONICALLY (ex. usagi x arisu, natsu x lucy, mj x spiderman) but if its a fan ship ION DO THAT. and for the genders of reader i do fem and gn, i can do male but it’ll be harder for me to right simply because i am not a male, i dont identify as a male, i can try but i assure you that if i do post something and it’s not how a male is im sorry. and again for the reader i will add nationality to them (ex. black!reader filo!reader mexican!reader japanese!reader) you get the gist! most of the time it’ll be up to ur interpretation unless i add that.

03 - smut/lemon

i do NOT write lemon smut or wtv you call it, i will write dirty thoughts but i don’t write smut, yes i’ll repost some and put them in my library but i physically cannot write smut SORRY. dirty thoughts at most and yall can send ur ideas and thoughts into my inbox and i can do small headcannons and dirty thoughts, what I can do are the ABC’s.

04 - errors & grammar

yes i know i’m in school but my typing can still be autocorrected into words i don’t mean to say, or i could make a typo, or i can have a bad grammar sentence, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t point it out. i seriously hate that, unless you are laughing at it IDM but pointing out and saying “you misspelled so and so. the grammar is actually so and so on so and so” I HATE THAT. don’t do that to me please 🙏. also i type in lowercase, even in arguments i type in lowercase itd just be in bold.

05 - writing styles

i have many different writing styles, i have those im comfortable with and those i’m not comfortable with. and if i have one im not comfortable with i’ll just tell you straight up “hey i don’t do this sorry, maybe something else”.

Lonesome isn’t about joshua going back to Olivia. Lonesome is like Sabrina’s way of reflecting on Joshua leaving her. there were many layers to it but here she’s second guessing if he loved her.. because the 2nd DL came out and the way people responded to it.. affected their relationship cause he brokeup with her.. hence “is it kind of strange how it all changed when i wasn’t the one they wanted you to love”

Sabrina feels like she was just an opportunity for him. i mean lets be serious she was the only one with a real successful career when joshua came into her life. at that time hsmtmts just put out s1 and the only thing o & j did was write instagram unoriginals. Sabrina was an opportunity in so many ways i mean she even wrote for his EP, she was almost a feature (but they brokeup snd scrapped it). She feels used.

it all circles back to him breaking up with her after DL, “why were u somewhere else when you were next to me” that maybe he never loved her at all.

Opposite i cant speak on it lyrically cause idk if its about him (i dont think its about Dylan O’brien either ive seen those rumors). but about your question.. Joshua didnt end up with Olivia or a look alike unless she knows something we dont about who’s he been with after “Face like that other girl you’re inlove with”

would you love me now: people only think its about Olivia cause he sings “passing Pasadena, do you still live in LA?” (apparently olivia lived there) but if you think about it he’s passing Pasadena to LA.. where Sabrina used to live, she moved to NYC after their breakup. also first lines of the song he sings something about a letter he never sent.. “emails i can’t send”

She said he said she said: so its clean she (olivia) he (joshua) she (sabrina) is clearly about that drama and one of the girls was talking shit (again could be all fabricated for this “cool” story he’s telling) but he does sings “highschool never ends” which makes me think of Olivia, and another line “did you tell them everything” which reminds me of his song Secret which is obviously about Olivia.

i’m sorry: he’s apologizing to his ex. i think sabrina releasing “things i wish you said” makes it clear this is about her. Sabrina’s song is all in her ex’s perspective of things she wishes he said. theres a part where she says “sorry that i pulled the its not you its me someday ill make sure you get a apology” in ‘Im Sorry’ joshua is APOLOGIZING to his ex saying “it was me it wasn’t you its cliche but its true”. also the lines alone where he sings “ever since that day the things i didnt say they haunt me” and she writes a song of things she wishes he said.

Different idk cause its not accurate to their timeline cuz of “2 years not being friends” but the rest like “my biggest regret is walking away” ties to im sorry and his other songs where he says he regrets leaving. TBH he could be just writing what he wants to happen cause didnt rekindle whatever she had with him. so this is why i say sometimes it isnt lyrically accurate and who knows maybe its about olivia but i think its weird after the EP crisis secret set me free he’d suddenly say she’s his biggest regret and he wishes he didnt walk away. and even after he released that what makes u think olivia would ever want to rekindle with him😭
