I tend to vent a lot! I use art as a form of catharsis and to avoid hurting myself irl, so there might randomly be some upsetting content posted, but I do tag these with 'vent tag', and the appropriate CW tags - please see below for them

My art (and characters) is not for free use! So please do not repost, edit, trace my art, and please do not use it in videos/games, or for AI bots/databases. If you see my art somewhere, that I did not approve of, and regardless if it is credited or not, please let me know!

I don't do requests for things I am not interested in, and I probably will not draw your OC for free. I do take suggestions for things I am interested in, and might do the occasional art trade with mutuals/friends. I switch sonas around a lot! Bean is my main one (in a semi-realistic style and a more cartoonish one), but do not be surprised if I am sometimes depicted as a furry or a monster now and then.

These sonas are also both a representation of me, and characters in my stories. I try to define when I am 'in-character' and 'out-of-character', so please keep this in mind when commenting/asking.

Fanart of my characters and AUs is okay, and always appreciated! Please try to represent the characters(s) the best you can, and ask before doing making significant design changes (such as a 'Genderbend' or 'Species Swap' etc). Interests

I am currently mainly into Pizza Tower, and the OCs I have created for it, so that is mostly what you will see at the moment! - I have currently two AUs I am focused on, mainly the one where it's just my interpretation of the game (no name for this one yet), and then my secondary called 'Cheeseshop AU', with Brick the Rat as the protag, and species are swapped! (So Brick is human, Peppino and Gustavo are rats etc)

I also have a lot of original stories, characters and concepts, and will post those too! I tend to jump from idea to idea and back again, so do not mind if I am talking about one genre in one post, and then it completely changes the next post. (Although most are just slice-o-life with fantasy elements)

Other interests are: FNAF (previous hyperfixation, kinda comes and goes and may have occasional posts here), Bugsnax (also a previous hyperfixation, mainly when the game came out but not so much any more), Pokemon (not a hyperfixation, I just think they're neat), and... Hi, I've talked to you a few times on the subreddit and I've really admired your dedication to the fandom and patience with questions. I also really like your fanfiction. I've been in the fandom since around 2014, but most of my "Baccano Friends" are people I know irl that I got into the show. Do you have any tips for making friends in the fandom? Sometimes you just wanna wax poetically about Maiza or Huey at length to someone else who understands

I recognized your blog name immediately. Welcome to Tumblr and the Tumblr-based Baccano! fandom! This is where many of the active content creators congregate, a good number of whom have read or are familiar with the light novels. In short, you’re definitely among “people who understand.”

Small fandoms like this one are also not only inclined to notice new faces, but actively welcome them; the more people who can contribute fresh content, the better, eh?

Let’s start by reviewing the basics of Tumblr. Tumblr is a platform that hosts people’s blogs. You can follow people whose blogs catch your interest so that their posts will appear on your dash. Once I post this reply, I will follow you; you should receive a notification (which you can check in your activity log) informing you of this.

My full response is under the cut on account of length (typical), but honestly, it really all comes down to engagement. How can a lurker make friends on a social site if they don’t participate? On Tumblr, you put yourself ‘out there’ by creating content and/or engaging with other people’s content.

Summary of the tips below the cut:

Follow people so that the content they post and reblog appears on your dash. People will in turn follow you if you post/reblog content in their bailiwick. It’s a two-way street. Also follow the #Baccano! and #Baccano tags! Checking out tags is often how people find new content and new people to follow, so remember to tag your own content accordingly. Note that only the first 5 tags on a post are indexed for Tumblr searches.

When it comes to fan works (fanart, fanfics, gifs), the creators of fan works love knowing what you think. Share your thoughts via a reblog, reply, and/or in your tags (ideally try to leave proper comments/reviews on fanfics on AO3/FFN or in a reblog).

Given Tumblr’s bias toward visual content, fanfics can especially depend on reblogs to increase their visibility.

Practical tip: use tags to categorize your posts; this will be helpful for others and for you to sort through posts on your blog. Including misc. thoughts in tags is common practice on Tumblr, by the way, and a large number of people will actively check tags for comments.

Engage with other people’s text posts. When you reblog someone’s headcanon, theory, analysis, appreciation post (etc), don’t be shy--respond to the points being made, and add your own. Participate in discussions! Discussions aren’t just Reddit’s thing.

Reblogs don’t show up in tags; original posts do. Writing your own posts (creating content) is the other big way of putting yourself out there. People who follow the Baccano! tags will encounter your content, and, if they like it, might be inclined to follow you.

I think you’ve already picked up on this, but sending people asks is a good way to get to know them and introduce yourself! You can get a sense of people’s favorite characters or likes/dislikes from their content, and people usually like talking about their faves, so I’m sure Huey fans would be pleased to receive Huey asks.

Not everyone is necessarily comfortable with receiving instant messages from people they’re not familiar with (IM was only introduced as a feature a couple years ago, IIRC); they might say as much in their blog description or about page.

On that note, write a blog description/’about me!’ Let people who visit your blog know who you are. You can choose a blog theme for additional customization (I have an ‘about me’ module on my blog proper), but the basic description should suffice.

Although some people never develop their blogs in ‘site-form’ (i.e. choose a theme besides the default dash version), many others do, so don’t forget to check out people’s blogs as external sites; they might have tag indexes, links to featured content, and other fun stuff you wouldn’t know about if you only ever access their blogs via the dash.

Liking content is nice. Like + Reblogging is better. Reblogging with tags (practical categorization + a remark or comment or two)? Better still. Replies? Good. A tagged reblog in which you directly respond to the person’s points and add additional thoughts of your own? 

Now we’re talking. Literally. If you show interest in what others have to say--and have a fair bit to say in your own right--they’ll reciprocate. Contribute, engage, share.

(Oh, before I forget, I suggest you make use of XKit, a browser add-on that enhances Tumblr much in the same way RES enhances Reddit. I think XKit has had some issues on account of Tumblr updating the dashboard, but still, it has a lot of helpful extensions that make my Tumblr experience better.)

(Of course, most blogs don’t exclusively post about one subject; unlike Reddit, where you curate subjects that appear on your home feed according to subreddits, Tumblr’s dashboard displays user-chosen content; content that the individual you follow has created or reblogged.)

Step 1: Follow people whose content you enjoy and want to see more of.

You can like posts, reblog posts (publicly share posts with or w/o adding your own commentary), and reply to posts (comment on a post without sharing it). You can also tag posts.

Tags are helpful ways to categorize your posts. An organized tagging system will not only help you find specific posts on your blog, it can help others who want to see specific content you’ve reblogged in the past. The main tags for the Baccano! fandom are #Baccano! and #Baccano. You can follow those tags for ease of access. 

One aspect of Tumblr culture is that tags aren’t only used for categorization purposes; you commonly see people including little quips or thoughts or comments in tags that, for whatever reason, they did not want or feel the need to write as an overt reply or ‘formal’ reblog response.

I’ll come back to this use of tags soon. First...

“Do you have any tips for making friends in the fandom?”

The most succinct answer would be, I think, engagement. Well, if pressed, I’d say content creation and content engagement, but ‘engagement’ is the fundamental facilitation of friendship.

As we’ve already seen, you can engage with content (visual or text) through likes (most passive) reblogs (semi-passive w/o commentary, active w/contribution), replies, and tags (quiet engagement). As you’ve discovered already, you can privately, directly engage with people via sending them asks or instant messages. 

(Note that ‘asks’ predate instant messaging on Tumblr by many years, and not everyone will be comfortable with receiving surprise instant messages from ‘strangers’. Sometimes people will specify their preferences in their blog description or ‘about’ blurb.)

Sending people questions like you’ve done to me is a fine way to get to know them. Most fans love talking about their favorite characters, so sending a Huey-based question to a Huey fan will probably go over well, hah! Sometimes people will reblog fandom-based ‘ask memes’ (posts that contain pre-written questions from which anyone can choose a question or two to send); if you see someone do this, shoot them a question!

(Don’t take it personally if they don’t immediately respond, or, uh, ever. I’m not saying this because I have a few ‘ask meme’ questions in my inbox and drafts that are, um, a few years old, ah hah ha...if someone doesn’t answer, I guarantee it’s simply because they’re busy or they forgot.)

(OR because Tumblr simply did not deliver your ask. This has been a longstanding issue with Tumblr; I’m not sure if it’s less of an issue these days, but I’ve had to deal with this issue on both sides multiple times in the past: both as someone whose asks were not delivered, and as someone who did not receive asks others said they had sent.)

Speaking of ‘about’ blurbs, I suggest writing a blog description. Let the fandom know who you are! Passively liking posts might catch people’s radar in the sense of, “Oh, this person has liked several of my Baccano! posts--perhaps they’re a Baccano! fan?), but it’s not quite ‘putting yourself out there’. Nor is reblogging without commentary, or even tags.

For visual content like fan art, gifs, and videos, I encourage you to reblog and try to leave a nice comment or two in your tags, or even as a reply or in the reblog itself. I don’t think anyone expects a person to ‘comment-tag’ on every piece of fan art they reblog, but making a general effort can go a long way.

For fanfiction, I highly encourage you to reblog it and, as with fan art, at minimum leave a comment or two in the tags. (I especially, however, would encourage above all else comment/review on the fanfics you like on AO3/FFN, or, if you’d prefer, in the reblog.

I think people underestimate how often creators of fan works will check the 'notes’ on their own posts. Hell, I’ve delved into the notes + tags of other people’s fan works (or other content) just to see what others have to say.

People have thanked me/expressed appreciation for compliments on their fan art before (via tags, or replies, or reblogs), so--yeah, assume by default that people check or notice.

Similar to how fanfic writers will refresh their inboxes in the hopes of comments or reviews (I speak from experience), I might return to check new reblogs of my fanfics (but sometimes also meta posts!) to see if the rebloggers said anything in their tags (since most don’t actually review or comment on the fics). Anyway.

But the fandom on Tumblr isn’t only producing fan works. You may have already stumbled upon some of the headcanon posts, theory/speculation posts, analyses, and discussions (reblog chains) they’ve subsequently spawned. (Tip: you can check the notes on a post to see if any interesting additional commentary was said in the reblogs. I recommend doing this!)

Engage with those ideas! Put forth your own! Don’t be afraid to jump into a discussion (chain of reblogs) and share your own thoughts. If you love someone’s headcanon--heck, if it inspires you--say so, bounce off a few additional thoughts. If you disagree with an opinion or ‘take’ or whatnot, I think the fandom is capable of handling respectful debate. 

Find an analysis or write-up compelling? Were there specific points someone said that ‘blew your mind’--they had an insight that never occurred to you, made you see a character in a new light, and so on? Let them know. Have thoughts you’d like to add? Add them.

(Edit: Lest I forget, there’s also the news/canon material side of fandom: where fans share updates on Narita’s status, share official media or merchandise, and translations if available. Reblogging these sorts of posts is a helpful way of spreading the good word. Let the translators know their efforts have not gone to waste and you appreciate said effort. Also respect their wishes; of the fan-translators still active in the fandom, I known none who want the fan TL pdfs to be publicly circulated now that there’s an official release.)

This is where I’d encourage content creation in your own right. You follow people whose content or thoughts you’d like to see more of...but this is a two-way street. Now, I’ve followed people who do mostly reblog Baccano! content without creating their own content or even commenting on the content they’re reblogging--because, you know, small fandom--but it isn’t reblogs that appear in the tags you’re searching for. Only original posts appear in those tags.

So you can put yourself out there by actively engaging with people’s posts (reblogging with additional commentary or thoughts, replies, don’t forget tags)...but writing/creating your own posts is another major way of putting yourself out there. I’m sure people will be interested in what you have to say, and I’m sure you have interesting ideas or interpretations (etc) to be shared.

It can be as simple as talking about your favorite characters (why you like them, what you think about them; different users on Tumblr have different favorite characters, as you’ll get a feel for the more you engage with their content), sharing headcanons, sharing your interpretation of certain scenes. Just as you’ll 'get to know’ people through their content (favorite characters, arcs, what they like/dislike), they’ll get to know what you like in turn. And hey! They’ll probably follow you back.

Unlike Reddit, Tumblr doesn’t ‘lock’ posts after a certain amount of time has passed. I don’t think you have to worry about necroposting (i.e. feel like reviving old discussions or responding to old posts might be ‘weird’ or ‘bothersome’); these ideas were posted publicly for the purpose of people seeing them and (presumably) engaging with them. Just as fanfic writers might be delighted to receive comments on their old fics, Baccano! fans probably are more inclined to welcome new insights/fresh engagement with their content than eschew it.

Small fandom, after all. New faces are more likely to be noticed than in big fandoms, but usually in a good way; we like having new people to contribute to the content pool, haha. You’ll start recognizing certain urls simply by spending time in the fandom; the same people are likely to pop up in the notes.

Basically, if you engage with other people’s ramblings, they just might ramble back. Heh. Despite Tumblr’s bias towards visual content--fanart, gifs, memes, videos are all easy to digest on a dash, easy to engage with and reblog, it has text-based content and discussions just like Reddit. Both sites thrive from user engagement; no matter what site you’re on, you won’t make any friends as a lurker.

You also shouldn’t have to worry about gatekeeping or anything of that sort. We’re too small a fandom to survive gatekeeping, so thus far I’ve not seen much of it. Luckily for you a high number of us have read the source material, but not everyone is caught up to Vol 22 (or is necessarily familiar with the other media)--and that’s fine. Just be respectful when engaging with content and when expressing your ideas, and you’ll probably get along with people fine.

1. Have any of your OCs ever stolen something? What did they steal, and why? Oh yeah sure - the first one I can think of easily is Cain. He used to live on the streets so had to steal to survive. But he’d also work for money. He’s not heartless, just desperate. 

Also now I’m thinking about it, Tag would definitely be the kind of guy to just... hey I know I’m meant to hand this gear in but... no-one will miss it so.... he steals to amuse himself with the gadgets he gets. 

2. Did you ever have imaginary friends as a kid? What were they like? I copied my sister in having pretend animal friends, but not really. Who needs imaginary friends when you have real-life ones lol I was a lot more liked as a kid.

3. Do any of your  OCs have a favorite article of clothing? Why is it their favorite?

Uhhhh

Yeah, you could say that. 

Andy likes his hoodie because it’s a thing that is only his. He didn’t get it from Murdock, I honestly don’t know WHERE he got it from, but it’s his, and the fact he owns anything means a lot to him.

Cain likes his because it’s one of the few things left over from when he was younger and again, it’s his. He didn’t steal it. It belongs to Only Him. He feels comfortable in it. 

4. What do you fist develop about a character when you make one up? Do you think of their appearance first? Their personality? Their backstory?

Honestly? It depends. Backstory always comes after, but personality and appearance often intersect. I know for WIP 3 I thought of personality and traits first, and for Collateral it was appearance first. I think for Sonder it was more.. their role in the story? ‘Oh hey this is the antagonist, this is the protagonist, this is the love interest wait I hate romance, okay, side kick’ etc

5. Fluff or Angst?

If it’s not romantic? Fluff. I made myself angsty enough when I was younger, I want more happiness in my life.

6. Remember the color of that dress that everyone was debating about however many years ago? The one that was blue and black, or white and gold? What colors did you see?

7. Pick your bubbliest, happiest OC. Now tell me what will make them turn into your worst nightmare. I wanna see what makes them the angriest.

Seeing someone he loves die would twist him. Being isolated would eventually break him. Being unable to do what he loves would definitely upset him also. 

Also idk if you’ve heard about it but in his world, there’s a nifty ability called being a silvertongue and I know at least one silvertongue is not gonna exploit this but I also know of another who would even on this19-year-old kid so maybe it’s not by choice but that could make him a nightmare. 11. Do any of your OCs have scars? Would they be confident enough to show them in public (like at the beach)?

Oh yeah sure man. Andy’s got multiple from... ‘training’. He doesn't show them off. Cain, Duck and Theo have all been badly burnt on the arms, and Cain ‘’shows it off’’ just because it makes him uncomfortable to have his arms covered. And uh Raya probably has some sort of scar on her knees or elbow from rollerblading. Because you do fall over and it does scar.

1. What cultural value do you see in writing/reading/storytelling/etc.?

I think that without storytelling specifically, humans would be so... mundane? We’d be no different to any other animal on the planet. Creating anything, be that stories or art or literally anything is so... human. To take that away would be like taking away humanities soul. The cultural value isn’t really measurable - storytelling makes up the culture. 

2. Do you try more to be original or to deliver to readers what they want?

Honestly, I have no idea. I try to entertain myself, and if other people like it too, then that’s neat. But because I’m writing for myself, I anticipate everything, so I don’t know if it’s original or not. I know it delivers what I want! But is that readers want? Who knows!

3. As a writer, what would you choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?

Crow. Not even as a writer, just... dude crows are so damn cool. 

4.  What do you think most characterizes your writing?

I’m not quite sure about the phrasing so uhhhh represents? Google is telling me ‘describes’. 

In which case, a midnight fever jolting you out of bed, moments before you could fall asleep, and puppeting you to a writing surface so you can splurge ideas onto it sounds about right. 66% of my WIPs have elements in them that were based on dreams. 

5. How do you select the names of your characters?

Mostly? Spite. ‘Oh Trade, you can’t have a bad guy named Andy, all Andy’s are good’ NOPE NOT ANYMORE SUCK IT. I also have a friend who is really good at coming up with names that fit the exact mood of the character so I go to her a lot. Sometimes they’re puns. 

6. Choose one of your OCs (or more). How would they want to be seen by others?

Sam from Sonder wants to be seen as someone people can talk to, but also someone who pursues a science because yes sociology is a science to her, shut up, don’t talk to me if you’re going to mention the words ‘paradigm’ or ‘objective’ thank you.

7. How do you find or make time to write? Are you consistent or do you write whenever you get the chance?

Hahahahahhahha.

In the past few months, I’ve not been writing because I’ve had exams. Before that, I wrote at every chance I had - being a student, I had a fair bit of free time during the day, so I’d use that to write. But for a while, it was a nothing on the ‘what has Trade written recently’ chart.

8. What does literary success look like to you? Is it important for you as a writer?

Literary success? That’s... a very interesting question. I think I’d be satisfied and feel successful if one person told me that my book helped them through something. 

Jokes on me, I’ve already had that, my books helped me, I have already succeeded, see you losers in hell.

Also fanart but uh who needs fanart when you draw enough for five armies?

9. Are there any scenes that you’ve had to edit out of your WIPs? Can you tell us about them if they don’t spoil the book?

YES oh lord yes okay so in Sonder, chapter 15, I decided around draft 2 that I wanted a scene where Atlas got drunk. I made up reasons for it, asked lots of friends about what it was like to be drunk (as I personally have never been drunk), attended parties to get first-hand research and did so much preparation. 

Wrote the scene, was pleased with it, left it to fester. Two years and two drafts later (now), I’ve come back and realised oh hey that scene is utterly useless and de-rails the plot. Time to remove it I guess. 

I rationalise it as ‘well you wrote it and you had fun but it’s not needed, move on’ and that works well for me. 

10. Would you feel comfortable publishing or sharing your writing using your real name, or would you prefer a pseudonym?

Pseudonym 100%. As cool as it would be to be able to go ‘hey I wrote this’ to people, the terrifying ordeal of being known is horrific, and people being able to track all my past activity from when I was literally seven is my worst nightmare. I wouldn’t even tell family or friends if I could get away with it. 

‘Hey [real name], there’s a book at Waterstones called Sonder? With the exact same characters, plot and writing style as you have? But it’s under [pseudonym]?’ ‘oh hey, really that’s wild. Anyway,’

11. When writing, do you try more to be original or do you prefer to deliver to readers what they want? Do you think that a book can do both? Which is more important to you as a writer?

Oh hey, this is like question two but MORE. Standing by my previous answer, I think a book can do both - people want a happy ending, usually, but you can always be original in how you do that. No two stories can be told in exactly the same way. And hey - even if people do guess what’s coming up, that’s good. 

As a writer? It’s most important to entertain. I don’t try and catch people out, I just deliver the story I have in my head and then edit it mercilessly until I’m pleased.

5. sometimes requests get deleted if i can’t find a suitable image for it (meaning images that are a good size for it) or if i just can’t find an image to use at all (no transparents, nothing that i can easily edit the background out of, or if there’s just no official art of the character in question)

Hi! Wanna say that I love your custom pops and wanted to ask how do you find the right pops and do you get them used and cheap? I really want to try it out but there's just so many to pick from.

Thank you so much, I’m glad to give you some tips! This is how I go about finding Pops (sorry it got a little long lol):

When you start looking, there are two basic questions you’re looking to answer:

What do I want?

What’s out there for me to use?

Obviously you’re going into this with some sort of idea of who you want to make, so that’s your starting point. Don’t even worry about Pops you’re going to use yet, just focus on gathering some source material for your inspiration first. This can be pictures of the character if they’re from a movie or show or fanart/character descriptions if they’re from a book. I mostly make book characters, so I’m going to use the Aeduan I made from the Witchlands series as an example.

Thankfully, Aeduan is a popular character in these books AND a book with him on the cover just came out this year, so I had a decent amount of art to work with as my inspiration. Basically, he’s an assassin who wears a white cloak, has lighter skin, and is from a fantasy series which most likely means medieval style clothing. In addition to the book cover, I used this fanart for my inspiration:

So now I know that I’m looking for a Pop head that has a hood and light skin (I prefer not to paint the skin of my Pops because it simply looks better when I don’t, so I try to match the skin tone if possible) and a body that fits the style of clothing seen in the art with the most important feature being a cloak. Now you start searching for your pops, and the best way to do this is through a good old fashioned google search.

Literally start by googling exactly what you’re looking for. For instance, when looking for the head I ended up using, I googled “funko pop hood” and got back a bunch of pops wearing hoods. None of them really struck my fancy, so then I tried “funko pop cloak” and so on and so forth. I actually didn’t find anything I liked in my initial google searches, but then I remembered that Funko had made Pops for the Assassin’s Creed games, which I found closely resembled Aeduan. I ended up purchasing Arno (pictured below) from Ebay in a lot of 3 AC Pops for $12 (a total steal) because I found that I might be able to use the other two for customs in the future. 

For Aeduan’s body, I ended up just kinda getting lucky. Target sells Funkos, and they had a few Lord of the Rings Pops that I happened to stumble upon while looking for a different Pop, and I determined that Boromir’s body was perfect for what I wanted to do with Aeduan.

I’ve found that going out to retailers that sell Funkos and just looking around has actually proven to be a very fruitful way of finding Pops for customs. The key is being able to look past the initial pop and seeing the potential for what you could turn it into. Don’t get hung up on colors because all that can be changed when you go to paint (unless you’re me, in which case skin color is something I’m a stickler about). Also, if there are tiny details you don’t like, for instance, the horn Boromir is holding is something I didn’t like, then those can be removed quite easily via cutting and sanding. Now let’s get into the even more frustrating part of finding the right Pops….

So you’ve done you’re research, you know what Pops you want, now you just need to know where the hell you can find them. Easier said than done. Here are some things I recommend you keep in mind while you’re searching for Pops, because knowing all this as you go will save you some time:

First of all, is the Pop vaulted? This means they are no longer manufacturing this pop, so the only way you’ll be able to find it is through sites like Ebay where people are selling them. If you find a Pop you like and learn that it’s vaulted, that’s not a good sign unless you’re willing to spend an outrageous amount of money for a Pop you’re going to take apart and paint. For example, I’ve been searching all over creation for a body for an ACOTAR Morrigan Pop I want to make. A body I found that I like is that of Daenerys from Game of Thrones in her white wedding dress. The price for one of these Pops ranges from $20-$40, which is not a price I’m willing to pay. The same goes for special edition Pops. Basically, try not to set your sights on the crazy expensive ones. Cheaper is obviously going to be better.

Ideally, you’re going to want to be looking at Pops that are more recent, because they’ll be more reasonably priced and easier to find. A good way of staying up to date on what Pops are being made and are readily available is by following Funko on social media (Instagram is best) and downloading the Funko app. The app is especially helpful because it shows you trending values for most of their Pops, and allows you to create a wishlist of Pops you want and a collection of those you have. It’s awesome.

In terms of where to get your Pops, Ebay is always a good first stop. See what’s available and how cheap you can get them. Sometimes people will sell lots of them for a decent price. I don’t like to spend more than $10 on a single Pop that I’m going to use for customs, but I’ll go up to $15 depending on how much I like them. Getting them used and loose (aka out of the box) is a good way to get them cheap. Of course, people on Ebay have a tendency to overestimate the worth of their Pops, in which case there’s no harm in buying them new from local retailers. These are the places I go to find them and how much they sell them for:

Walmart ($8.99)

Target ($8.99)

Barnes & Noble ($9.99 although they recently did a 3 for $20 which was awesome so be on the look out for deals like that)

Books-A-Million ($10.99)

GameStop ($5.99-$11.99 depending on stock)

You can also check out Hot Topic or FYE, but they start to get a bit pricier there.

This has already gotten to be so long, but I’ll leave you with a few more things to consider:

Try to find Pops where you can use both the head and the body for customs. For example, the head of the Azriel I made had a body that I’m planning to use for an upcoming custom. Same with the body from the Arno I used for Aeduan’s head. This will ensure that you get your money’s worth and don’t end up with an entire box full of spare Pop parts you’ll have no idea what to do with.

If you’re having a hard time finding Pops to use for your customs, do a google search to see if anyone else has ever made a Pop of the character you’re trying to make. Art inspires art, and seeing what other people have done can really help. Part of why I’ve struggled so much with Mor is because I’ve only managed to find one custom of her.

Really keep up with the new Pops that Funko is going to be putting out. You may have to wait a bit longer to get the parts, but you could end up with much better results. Going back to Mor again, I think Fleur’s Yule Ball dress from Harry Potter would actually make a great body for her, however those Pops won’t be released until September, so I have to wait.

Whether they’d like each other/get along would depends on at which point and in which way they’d meet, I guess! Middle school was a complicated period for both of them, so it really depends - a few examples of how it could go are

they meet cause they frequent the same middle school - that implies they meet during the first year, when Bakugou was still full on bully/cocky asshole. Kirishima probably wouldn’t like him much because of it, would try to fight him. Bakugou might find him annoying/get pissed at how he thinks himself good enough to fight him. Definitely wouldn’t get along at first, might change their minds as they get to know each other or just keep on having a shitty relationship forever. I find more beliavable the first, since they do have really compatible personalities, but Bakugou was really convinced of his position as above everyone else back then and Kirishima would have never let him act like he was better than him without putting up a fight, so maybe not. Might actually fuck up their relationship in highschool too, really

they frequent different middle school, but happen to see each other outside of school before the sludge incident - if they were to meet cause Kirishima got in the middle of Bakugou bullying Deku, not much would change from option one. But if they were to meet for unrelated reasons, they could get along - Kirishima might think Bakugou manly, Bakugou might appreciate Kirishima’s guts (as long as Kiri doesn’t try to fight him). At first the relationship would definitely be unbalanced, because Kirishima would have no way of proving to Bakugou he’s at his same level since he wouldn’t be, but with time this might change. I can see Kirishima throwing himself at random bullies and Bakugou sighing and sometimes waiting for Kirishima to get his ass beat so maybe he’ll learn while other times lazily strolling up till he’s standing next to Kirishima to scare the bullies away. Bakugou’s... Bakugouness might do something to Kirishima���s self-esteem and could have him have his breakdown sooner, but by that point Bakugou might like him enough to do something about it. Or not. He’s still a cocky and self-centered ass at this point, after all. Kirishima’s presence might help with his bullying habit. Or not. Again, still an egoistical and egocentrical fucker at that point. Worse comes to worst, their relationship starts becoming more equal after the sludge incident/kiri seeing gigantomachia

they frequent different middle schools, but meet outside of school after the sludge incident but before kiri sees gigantomachia - this is probably my favorite one as far as them meeting in middle school goes. Bakugou at this point is questioning if he’s actually as strong as he always assumed he was, starting to feel like he needs to prove his worth to the world and himself, while Kirishima is still convinced he’s plain and weak, too scared to actually voice his dreams, but still tries to do his best and help those in need in front of him. If they were to meet at this point, Bakugou might actually find something to admire in Kirishima, find strength in him even - with the down-to-earth optimism and practical positivity, aware of reality but working to fix what he can, not letting circumstances and defeats bring him down. It might help Bakugou put into perspective the sludge incident, instead of just dwelling on it till it became a bomb ready to explode. Kiri would find Bakugou manly and cool, just like in canon, and they’d be able to build a relationship on equal grounds - Kirishima might even open up to him about how he wishes to try for UA, but he’s nearly sure he’s gonna fail. Bakugou might tell him that as he is right now he’s gonna fail for sure. He might also tell him that a quirk is like a muscle, and muscles get stronger if you train them, so just fucking stop wasting time and train yourself till your quirk is worth something, for fuck sake. By the time the event of Kiri’s backstory roll around, Bakugou might actually be there to hold Kirishima up and not let him go through it by himself. I dunno about crushes, but I do love this scenario and the relationship they’d end up having because of it

they frequent different schools, meet after Kirishima’s meeting with gigantomachia - there wouldn’t be many differences compared to the canon version of their meeting, I think. Bakugou might be a little more subdued, maybe, but generally it’d be the same.

these are just real general cathegories, depending on how the meeting unfolds anything might happen so really, who knows - there’s too many possibilities to be sure of anything, really haha

Yah I think so. Like, not all nicknames, like “honey” probably never or “sweetheart” highly umprobable, but babe or gorgeous/handsome/beautiful or love, I can see him using those! Mostly cause Mitsuki’s personality was obviously based on Bakugou and she calls Masaru “dear”, so I think Bakugou does have the... predisposition for it, let’s say it like that haha he might more whisper them/keep them private, but I do think he’d use them~

Wincest/J2 Fic Recs

Since we are reaching the end of 2017, I wanted to list six of my favorite J2 and Wincest fics- three for each pairing. It was really hard only choosing a handful fics because I’ve read so many great ones this year, but I didn’t wanna overload this post. There really is no particular order to the fics listed below, and I honestly couldn’t rank them if I tried. All these stories just stood out to me, and I feel like they are each worth talking about and worth reading.

Warnings will be listed, and some of them even have podfics to go along with them (because who doesn't love podfics). If you want more j2 or wincest fic recs from me with specific tropes or themes, feel free to send me a message. My asks are always open!

J2 Fic Recs

Like the Back of  My Hand Written by Dimpleforyourthoughts (AO3)

My Thoughts: Holy Shit. Just Holy Shit, this fanfic is everything. I can honestly say without a doubt that this is one of the best fanfics I have ever read. There is just so much to this fic, and it kept me on edge and anxious and utterly entranced the entire time I was reading it. This story made me laugh, cry and sometimes even made me want to throw my phone across the room, but it also made me smile and filled my heart with so much love and joy. This fic was unlike anything I’ve ever read, and I have to say, this is one of the best Jensen/Jared stories out there. After reading this, it really made me think about how much different life would be if humans weren’t allowed to touch one another. I absolutely recommend this fic to anyone who had not yet checked it out. Basically, anything written by Dimpleforyourthoughts is worth reading, to be honest. I’ve slowly been working my way through all the Supernatural fics that she has written. 

Veterans of the Physic Wars written by kalireynn and kellwyntar (LiveJournal)

My Thoughts: God, this fic was absolutely fantastic and so well written! I wasn’t sure what to expect at first, but holy shit this is so beautiful. This is a slow burn fic where the feelings and emotions between Jared and Jensen build up over time, but the journey they go on is half the fun. You can practically envision this war-stricken reality Jay and Jen live in and all the differences between our world and their. You find yourself rooting for the boys the entire time, feeling their love, their pain, their sadness, and their happiness. Everything flows so well and leaves you wanting more. There’s angst and fluffy and just everything all wrapped up in one awesome fucking story.

 The Beat of Our Noisy Hearts Written by cleflink (AO3)

Paring: Jared/Jensen

Rating: NC-17

Word Count: 47890

Tags/Warnings: Magical Realism, Alternate Universe, Angst and Feels, Cupcakes, Hearts, Heartbreaking, And I mean that very literally, Graphic descriptions of medically impossible heart care, Serial Killers, Alternate Universe – Bakery

Summary: In a world where heartbreak is a literal condition, it's Jared's job to sew, fill and patch the physical wounds left in people's hearts by lost loves, misunderstandings and betrayals. Jared's own love life is more than a little dire, largely because Jensen doesn't date and Jared doesn't do one-night stands, but he's got good friends and a job he loves, so he figures that he can't complain too much. When a killer attacks Jensen, Jared discovers that a needle and thread, desperation and a sharp scalpel are enough to save Jensen's life, but at a cost that is going to change Jared's life forever and tie them both together in a way that goes far deeper than flesh.

My Thoughts:  Ahhh this fic was so amazing! I am known for liking alternate universe fics and bakery fics and this one need to be put down as one of the best! I’ve read it multiple times and fall in love with it more with each read. You really get sucked into this universe and the storyline behind it. This fic really makes you think and just hits you in all the right places. There is a reason why this made it onto my list of top three favorite fics. I honestly don’t even have the proper words to explain just how much I love this story. There is also some gorgeous fanart to go along with this story by my absolute favorite artists @petite-madame ! How could anyone ask for more!

 Wincest Fic Recs

 I'd Gladly Lose me to Find you Written by Flawedamethyst (AO3). Podfic: Read by Exmanhater [Link]

Paring: Sam/Dean

Rating: NC-17

Tags/Warnings: Sibling Incest, Canon Temporary Character Death

Summary: Sam takes a vow of silence in order to pull Dean out of Hell, but by the time Dean comes back, Sam's lost more of himself than just his voice. Splits off completely from canon after the season 3 finale.

 Review: I don’t even know where to begin with this story. Honestly, I could see something like this actually happening on the show and it was written so well. There were many points in the story that made my heart jump and left me anxious, but god damn its worth the read. I live for Sam’s strength and determination. By the end, I will admit, I may have cried just a little bit.

Never Be Written by Rejeneration (LiveJournal) Podfic: Read by Juice817 [Link]

My Thoughts: This fic is much shorter than the others on this list, but it deserves just as much love. The concept behind this story was absolutely brilliant, and the little twists, and turns that it takes are even more wonderful! I will say that it does tug at the strings of your heart though. This story hurts, but it is still such an amazing read!

Summary: The world is over, and it’s a Winchester’s lot in life to cope with anything – no matter what.

Review: This fic is fucking awesome but so painful all at once. It's so well written, and you can’t help the feeling of hurt for the boys as they try to survive and make their way through the end of the world. This fic and the Coda fic are hauntingly beautiful, and I was absolutely hooked. It is rather long but well worth the read in my opinion.
