Quick question for the munk-dom

If you could take any character at all from any previous series and make them a reoccurring character in a hypothetical new series, who would it be?

My answer is clear. My number 1 choice is definitely Olivia. It'd be great to see her in a modern retelling of the Chipette's backstory

But ALVINNN also has a few I'd consider worthy.

Ms. Corner, Geizmo and Officer Dangus are easily my three favourite ALVINNN originals.

Ms. Croner feels very natural in the Chipmunk-verse in a way that characters like BoCarter don't. She is also really hilarious

Geizmo's arc is like...one of the best things about this show.

Rewatching the 80s cartoon, and I have to give credit to Dave. Despite the boys being famous and inferibly well-off, he doesn't spoil them and actively tries to teach them that money doesn't make you successful (looks at the baseball episode).

alvin and the chipmunks 3 (chipwreck) is worse than alvin and the chipmunks 1 but better than the second and the fourth (the squeakquel and the road chip) and from those last two I wouldn't know which is better bc on one hand the squakquel has the most boring plot imaginable but I Do like dave's cousin? nephew?'s character and plot (even if its undercooked) AND it features ian hawke, which as we all know is the best character in the franchise, whereas the road chip has a worse music overall, does NOT have ian bc he had his redemption arc last movie and instead we have another evil bald man (that is like, if we're not comparing them he Is fun, he just has bigger shoes to fill), But (!) it does have a slightly more interesting plot overall (even if it relies on a dumb premise, like, its been years guys of course dave thinks of you as his sons are you kidding me)

I don't know why I can't reblog your answer so I'll write it here ;-; I completely agree, today I don't feel the same as at the beginning of the fandom. I miss it. Now ask blogs probably won't survive in this form like they used to. I remember from about 2020 to 2023 and now none of them have survived in the long run. I think (maybe it's just a personal observation) but back then people weren't so judgmental towards ships, they didn't insult the author for what he draws etc. on the other hand when authors had some kind of a dig at them they were able to respond in such a sarcastic way that I laughed at it.

Oh yeah ask blogs and ships are the ones that made the fandom alive, at least until the pre-outlast 2 era. My peeve on the current Outlast fandom is how canon ships are being seen as weird by some people (Which is personal taste, but I'm concerned about the one that attacked the shipper with an ask and announced how they hate the ship), when back then you would see people shipping Dennis and Silky Guy. while I could say many of the ships and the characters were heavily sexualized, personally I don't really care as I can curate what I wanna see. But yes, I miss the good ol' days. Now there's barely anything and I literally recognize majority of active outlasters here.

But the funny thing is, there is one topic that always stays the same since Gluskin's debut: "Is it morally okay to like the character / liking this character = condoning their behavior". You gonna see people debating whether it's okay to like "Eddie" in every Outlast entry 🤣 This is why I just rolled my eyes when there was a time when many people bashed Coyle's simps (And Red Barrels knew it. They definitely did not approve such action), because it happened on Val and Eddie.

NEW YORK (AP) — A private equity executive turned his New York City apartment into a torture chamber of “grotesque sexual violence,” Manhattan prosecutors said Thursday. He is accused of raping six women over five months in a depraved rampage in which he allegedly punched, waterboarded and shocked victims with a cattle prod and kept recordings of the assaults as trophies.

Ryan Hemphill, who remains jailed after his arrest last month, pleaded not guilty to a 116-count indictment charging him with predatory sexual assault and other crimes dating to last October. The 43-year-old, who is also a lawyer, threatened to have victims arrested or disappeared in a bid to keep them silent, prosecutors said.

“The defendant told these survivors that he was untouchable,” Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said. “The indictment makes clear that he was wrong.”

Hemphill sat quietly in a khaki jail suit, his cuffed hands clutching a cross behind his back, as a prosecutor described his alleged crimes in gruesome detail.

If convicted, Hemphill could spend the rest of his life in prison. He was previously acquitted in 2015 of choking and holding a knife to his ex-girlfriend’s throat after testifying that he enjoyed strangling her during sex.

“We have reason to believe these six victims are only the tip of the iceberg,” Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Mirah Curzer told Judge Ann E. Scherzer.

Hemphill’s apartment, near the Empire State Building, was outfitted with numerous surveillance cameras, and investigators have recovered images showing dozens, if not hundreds, of other women, many of them naked and blindfolded, Curzer said.

Investigators also found hundreds of bullets and high-capacity magazines, and a large amount of drugs, including heroin, cocaine, amphetamines, and fentanyl, prosecutors said.
