E - Easiest person to talk to: It depends about what. I have a couple of close friends I find I can talk to about things pretty easily.

F - Favorite song: That’s like an impossible question, but one that always hits close to home is Noël Coward’s If Love Were All

G - Grossest Memory: Like @tyronepowerbottom I threw up in my sleep - well kinda. I had this bad Target food court mac’n cheese once and I woke up having to puke (I never had puked in my life before that). I ran to the bathroom, puke dribbling out of my full mouth and onto the carpet, and threw up in the sink. I think some got on my sheets too because I went downstairs to the couch to sleep, which was actually a terribly idea because I had to run much further to get to the bathroom when the next wave hit me. I think on wave #3 I had not properly cleaned up some of the dribble on the tile and I slipped on it, my back hitting the tile with a smack so loud it woke my parents up (all the way upstairs). After I was done throwing up for a while, my dad put me in the shower and helped me get through the night. I spent the next day vegetating on the couch playing Lego Star Wars video games and drinking fresh squeezed orange juice my mom had made with oranges from our tree in the backyard.

H - Horror yes or horror no: Generally, no.

I - In love?: In vain.

J - Jealous of people?: Again, clarifying that jealousy is the fear of someone taking away what you have and envy is wanting what someone else has, I don’t know that I get jealous really. I get envious of people having better relationships with certain people than I do (like one of the other comp. majors seems to get along so well with our comp. teacher and meanwhile I’m struggling to feel like our teacher doesn’t look down on me as some cheap pretender who uses film music as a crutch).

L - Love at first sight or should I walk by again?: I know who I think is pretty at first sight, and that often leads to infatuation. Love though, I have to get a feel for what kind of person you are. If you’re stimulating and interesting and freely bring out the good in me, and are my type, it’s pretty easy for me. Too easy perhaps..

M - Middle name: Nikolaus, after my paternal grandfather.

N - Number of siblings: 0

O - One wish: To stop destroying myself over the boy I dated last summer! :)

P - Person you called last: I think my dad while we to organize picking up my mom from the airport last Wednesday.

Q - Question you are always asked: I dunnow. Not really a question, but when people hear me sing, I often get told I have a very classic like jazz-pop sounding singing voice. People sing how they want and they listen to what they want, so often people sound a lot like the singers they listen to.

R - Reason to smile: I have some amazing teachers who really care about me as more than just a student, who have an interest in how I’m doing personally. 

My Music Tech. professor is fun and creative and always encourages us to be ourselves and gives us cool assignments where we get to be creative and be ourselves. 

My Survey of Music teacher is a top-level Hollywood studio musician and has reached out to me and become a great resource for film scoring stuff, and on top of that he always makes sure we all know he’s here to talk if we ever need it, that he wants all of his kids to be happy.

And my piano instructor is like a mom/grandma to me. She’s hands down one of the most wonderful people I’ve met in my entire life. She understands what life’s about. She’s got things pretty together, and she’s really gotten serious about helping me attack my punctuality problem. Like my other teachers all know it’s an issue and have told me it’s an issue, but she’s made it her mission to talk to me and help me through this. I got a watch  two weeks ago and I’ve worn it every day since. It’s a silver digital Casio, and I love it. I would’ve ordinarily gone for a classic analog watch, but she insisted I get something with an alarm, and everything else Target had with an alarm was kinda ugly.

 Though I’m not all the way there by any means, I’m getting better at being on time to everything. Still, when I start thinking about boys and relationship stuff and get myself all sad, it’s too easy for me to roll into rehearsal 20 minutes late. I’m a mess, but I’m working at it.

S - Song you sang last: What Now My Love , the Sammy Davis Jr. and Sinatra recordings.

T - Time you woke up: Like 1 pm. I went to bed really late and I’ve been very depressed lately.

U - Underwear color: Black right now. Often blue though.

V - Vacation destination: I’d love the Bahamas or Jamaica or Venice.

W - Worst habit: Overloading myself, being late to frickin’ everything...

X - X-rays: I like never go to the doctor.

This is first film soundtrack album I ever owned. This album sparked my interest in film scoring and served as a natural segue/intro to John Barry's James Bond scores (it draws heavily from) which have also been a huge influence on me.

If I were a month, I’d be: June. 

If I were a day of the week , I’d be: Someone who doesn’t really know me might say Sunday, but right now it’s more like Thursday. My week is really busy and I’m at school from 9:30/10:00am - 7:00/7:30pm Monday-Wednesday so the first half of the week kinda drags me along and I don’t get a chance to catch up/slow down. But Thursday is my, I call it,  “week day off” - it’s the day during the week where I get to slow down a bit and catch my breath. I have combo rehearsal last thing Thursday and I get some really good playing in there, like I really get into it in a way I rarely do elsewhere. Not only does that end my schoolday on Thursdays, but when I get home, I have time to cook a nice dinner for myself, take a shower, and lay out everything really nicely for Friday morning.

If I were a planet , I’d be: Pluto.

If I were a sea animal, I’d be: A sea otter?

If I were a god/goddess, I’d be: Hera with more than a bit of (I know he’s not a god) Narcissus.

If I were a piece of furniture, I’d be : A  mid-century credenza; richly-colored wood (not those awful undersaturated or “ditressed” finishes) - medium darkness with a shiny finish, sleek tapered legs, with a stereo setup inside and CD’s, records, DVD’s, and books galore and a personal trinket or two resting on top.

Favorite season: Winter. The short days bother me; I need the sun. I wouldn’t mind that so much if I enjoyed the holidays, but my family doesn’t really do anything for them. If I do all the work, things can be okay, but even then, we don’t feel like a family when it comes to the holidays...

Favorite fruit: Raspberries, pluots, peaches.

Favorite books: As a kid, I really enjoyed the A Series Of Unfortunate Events and Percy Jackson & The Olympians books. Now, I might say The Catcher In The Rye - J.D. Sallinger, To Kill A Mockingbird - Harper Lee, This Time Together - Carol Burnett, Me: Stories Of My Life - Katharine Hepburn. 

Favorite flowers: Jasmine blossoms smell heavenly, and I always love seeing the Bougainvillea draped over fences in my neighborhood.

Favorite color: Blue (if you couldn’t tell by my blog theme).

Favorite scents: Tomato sauce and seasoned pasta simmering on the stove, garlic bread in the oven, jasmine blossoms, a warm Spring or Summer day, wet pavement/air conditioning when it starts out...

Favorite animal: Foxes are really cool. Agile, clever...

Coffee, tea, or cocoa: Tea regularly. Coffee once in a blue moon, and cocoa only when it’s cococold out.

Average hours of sleep: 7-8. It seriously messes with my day if I don’t sleep enough.

Cats or dogs: I’ve never owned one, but from experience with other people’s pets, I might say dogs. I never know quite what to do with cats.

Favorite fictional characters: Tracy Lord - The Philadelphia Story (1940), Lisa Carol Fremont - Rear Window (1955),  Benjamin Braddock - The Graduate (1967), Blanche DuBois - A Streetcar Name Desire. Nickname: I don’t really go by a nickname usually. @reluctant-martyrs sometimes calls me “grandpa”.

Height: 5′?8″

Ethnicity: White. Freckle-faced with dark brown hair. I’m pretty much a soup of every European country that sunburns, and Greece.

Favourite fruit: Myself. But if we’re talking edible fruits (I mean I guess I’m technically edible) - (in Carol Channing Voice) RASBERRIES!, peaches, pluots.

Favourite season: Summer! Everything’s warm and feels more alive and real and meaningful.

Favourite books: To Kill A Mockingbird (Harper Lee), Catcher In The Rye (J.D. Sallinger), This Time Together (Carol Burnett), The Joy of Music (Leonard Bernstein), and the book I’m currently reading, Me: Stories of My Life (Katharine Hepburn).

Played by my idol Katharine Hepburn, Tracy is sophisticated, gorgeous, witty, independent, and has high standards for herself and those around her, yet despite the “goddess” image those around her see, she can be vulnerable and down-to-earth. 

BENJAMIN BRADDOCK from The Graduate (1967)

Ben is a recent college graduate and is, “A little worried about [his] future”. He’s a fully grown-adult, yet he doesn’t know what to do with his life. He knows he wants his life to be special, and not to just fall into the ruts and patterns his parents and those around him have led him into. He’s good-natured and naive and really wants to have a great life. I relate to Ben.

LISA CAROL FREMONT from Rear Window (1954)

Okay, Grace Kelly is just perfect in this role. She’s not perfect exactly, but she’s so well cast in this film that her flaws (snootiness) play into the character. Though at times snooty, she’s fun, sexy, witty, and the most gorgeous thing in the history of ever. 

SAM & MAX from the Sam & Max franchise

They’re just hilarious. I mean side-splitting best humor ever kinda hilarious.

I’ll stop there because I could go on and on.

Dream trip: This seems kind of basic, but maybe the Bahamas? I’m a huge James Bond fan and there are lots of cool Bond movie filming locations on the islands I’d love to visit. Plus, it’s just a beautiful place.. Venice would be really great too. I’d love to go back to Paris. I haven’t been there since I was like five.

I’ve had a couple memorable ones where I died (one felt so realistic that it woke me up gasping for air). I’ve also had multiple where my best friend died and several others where a lot of friends/people died. I mean, doesn’t mean it’s normal, but you’re not alone

i die a lot in my nightmares, if i have a nightmare then like 2 out of 3 times it ends with me being killed by something

I’ve died in some dreams, both by execution and suicide, but I wasn’t scared (even though I think being decapitated or hanged IRL should be scary, not that I’d know). 

I’ve also dreamt of suicidal people, and I’d say those dreams were scarier than the ones in which I died. Thankfully they didn’t attempt suicide in front of my dream self.

I have a feeling these dreams would most likely have people questioning my sanity.
