Why is everyone asking anonymously

I get that anon hate is obviously anonymous and that Allies are hiding to avoid antisemitism but what about the people who are genuinely curious and admit to their lack of understanding on I/P

Fair question. People may be reluctant to admit that they need to learn the basics of an issue that provokes very strong emotional reactions from nearly everybody (and that can include having a bunch of randos show up to lecture you, often in false and mutually-exclusive fashion). Reluctant to give an appearance of being on the "wrong side" to their peers, fandoms, or friend groups. I suspect many don't want their dedicated blogs to go off-topic on something as highly contentious as this. Some may be just reflex.

I've gained 200 new followers since 10/7 and am getting about two dozen asks every day, most of them long and detailed, nearly all anonymous. People want to discuss this and they're concerned (because of terrible things happening). I would rather none of this had happened and that the extra concern wasn't there, but here we are, and if the discussions or venting make anyone feel better at all, then that's what I'll do.

Going on anon for personal reasons.

I've been upset and worried sick over the rampant rise of antisemitism.

My aunt is Jewish, as well as some of my other family members, and I want them to be safe. They inspire me to convert to Judaism soon.

Sending hope that we will all be safe one day, especially for those living in Israel and Palestine.

I think we all have been worried sick over the constant rise in antisemitism for years, and now we're really seeing it reach new heights (or rather, new moral lows). I hope your aunt and your other Jewish family members are as okay as can be, given what we've all been going through. And awwww, I wish you a lot of luck with the decision and journey to convert! I think Judaism is beautiful, full of love and wisdom, so I hope you find a lot of fulfillment in that. If you ever need help, please let me know!
