Jax from Digital Circus

A semi-topical character!

I don't want to speak for gooseworx's intentions, but overall, I think there was definitely a lot of intent that was carried along with Jax as she made him. Like I think she definitely tweaked Jax from the first draft to make him more of a smug bastard, but not with the plan to make a such a highly marketable to children character that is an anthropomorphic animal. Overall, though, intent has little to do with furbait rulings, and I only consider it when I think of the independent creators who aren't backed by decades-- if not centuries -- of character design over them.

To that end, when I talk of independent creators, I also like to give them the opportunity to respond, because -- well, this is a public post where anyone and everyone can see it.

In my opinion, Jax is furrybait. Objectively, his design follows the language of other furrybait characters in that his cartoon design is broadly more like a fantasy character than a human with minimal traits that represent an animal. He's not on the side of the spectrum of being a standard quadrupedal animal with a human voice, either. He's in the middle, where a lot of furrybait tends to reside. On top of that, his undeniable popularity through his actions, simplistic design, and anthropomorphism make him a strongly likely candidate for furbait. Part of what makes a character furbait is that they are replicable in a means that even amateur fanartists can contribute and share the joy of creation with the property at the center.

So what does Pomni actually think of PrismCat?

Pomni feels conflicted about Prism Cat in the same way she's conflicted about Caine- but possibly leaning more towards the "doesn't mind them" aspect.

Pros:

- PrismCats made for her, so it listens to her plights and stops smothering her when asked

- Somehow it is genuinely good at its job, its lullabies are soothing and it's volume can be lowered at any time

- its extremely helpful on adventures- being coded to be helpful to Pomni specifically (given her tendency to glitch out maps and stuff, preventing her from breaking things and causing extra horror to herself.)

- It keeps Jax from fucking with her 24/7

Cons:

- Was made to replace Gummi (fucked up? Don't replace her first friend Caine? You dumbass???)

- Naturally clingy, has to be told not to touch Pomni

- An Ai through and through: can't understand human emotion sometimes, can only comfort in the ways it was taught

- Has actively injured and committed crimes in Pomnis name ^^;

I headcanon that while both are indeed such girlfailures ,

Ragatha are still maybe experienced in some romantic gestures or stuffs , like kissing and whatnot

And sometimes she gets ahead of herself and always gets overconfident on topping Pomni but always ended up being a flustered mess instead LMAOO ((poor Pomni having to wait for her ragdolly girlfriend to calm down , Ragatha swore to God this never happens 😔😔))

Meanwhile Pomni is either too afraid to make a move or is actually oblivious

But I also like to think that she's both "know what's going on but afraid to make the first move so that she won't get ahead of herself" XD

Another headcanon that I have for these two girlies are :

- they both fidget with each other's accessories fr

Like for Pomni , maybe she fidgets with Ragatha's bow or frills

Meanwhile for Ragatha , she might just fidget with Pomni's jester hat's circle thingy , because it kind of massages her paws ((her ragdolly hands but someone called them her paws and I could not agree more so I had to call it as that too HHHH))

Another headcanon #3 :

- Pomni comforts Ragatha more efficiently , maybe because she is more onto the rational side where she thoroughly think of a plan on how to effectively calm a person down

- And Ragatha , despite being the "motherly girlfriend" or whatever that you call it , needs the constant validation the most

As for Pomni, i feel like she just wants to be sure of Ragatha’s true feelings before she makes a move because she values their bond so much <3

I love this dynamic so much. I feel like Ragatha hides her true emotions way too often, and i hc that Pomni helps her express herself better and in a healthier manner. She can seek out Pomni for reassurance and Pomni gives it to her in a straightforward and reasonable way.
