"I didn’t have anybody to write about. I wanted something that was fresh, passionate, lusty, loving, and all night long he held me and I cried. I wrote poetry everywhere - on his shirt, on the wall, everywhere. And I just cried and cried because I had not met another person who had eyes like mine, ever. We didn’t fuck. We hung out, wrote crazy lyrics and poetry, drank tequila. And so I had this idea and I had the chorus and the next day I went into a studio and recorded it, and the lyrics came to me. Even just holding his hand I get shivers. He goes through hell. But I don’t know if he’s seen as many dead bodies as I have."
