August 31, 2019 (2): But first, I’ll go and stop Bea...

David: *they have met up at 10 with everyone this morning and immediately started to load up the moving van* *he could still say hi to Bea and explain to her where the next supermarket is, because she wanted to take care of the food like she promised* *was really happy to see her again and hopes that they’ll still have some time to chat later* *then they immediately went to Alex’ with the first load and thanks to the lift, they were able to unload and bring everything to the piano room very easily* *they loaded the van again and he had to pull himself together a little to not grin at Laura smugly when the apartment was completely empty at only shortly after 1 pm* *just like on their first trip, he lets Jonas drive the big car with Matteo riding shotgun, and he himself drives Rudi with Laura, Bea and Abdi to the flatshare* *already notices on their drive that Bea is really interested in their friends because she first makes him explain all the people who will be present to help and because on the last few meters, she already starts asking Abdi questions like how long he’s been friends with Matteo, if he has any siblings, what he wants to do after Abi and so on* *is pretty glad that they reach the flatshare even before the moving van and that Laura already takes Bea upstairs to show her where the kitchen is and where to find everything she needs* *pulls Matteo aside a little when he finally gets out of the moving van and says half amused half desperate* Okay… I’m afraid Bea’s plan is to interrogate and meet our friends. You still know them better than I do: Will everyone be able to deal with that? Do we have to warn anyone? Or should we just feed them to the shark?

Matteo: *is more than satisfied when everything works out so well and so fast* *keeps thinking with a grin that they are really a lot of people* *gets out of the moving van and immediately gets pulled aside by David* Hello! *grins slightly* *but then hears what he wants and has to laugh* She really does that? Why? *then lists everyone in his head and shrugs one shoulder* I think they’ll all be able to manage… if someone doesn’t want to answer a question then they will let her know… *quickly kisses David* Let her interrogate them… she just wants to make sure that you’re in good hands…

David: *nods happily when Matteo says that everyone will manage an interrogation from Bea and also grins slightly* Okay… *laughs quietly* So she really trusts my judgment… I already told her that I’m in good hands… *reaches for Matteo’s waist when he wants to move away again and briefly kisses him again* *murmurs against his lips* ...in very good hands… *then lets go of him and pushes a strand of hair off his forehead with a smile* *then hears Kiki: “Umm… I think one of you has to go upstairs and tell everyone where everything has to go… or is Laura already at the flatshare?”* *turns away from Matteo and runs a hand over the back of his neck* Umm… Laura is upstairs… she should know everything… *then hurries over to Carlos and Jonas, who are struggling with his desk, and helps them carry it upstairs* *barely notices that Sam and Amira are walking behind them - probably each of them with a box in hand - and talking about some TV show* *but does hear Bea calling from the kitchen after he has just walked past it: “Hey, you funny curly-head… could you come in for a second to try the food?”*

Matteo: *smiles slightly at David’s answer and kisses him again only too gladly* *then pulls a loving face* I didn’t mean my hands for a change… *was just about to kiss him again when he hears Kiki* Yeah, sorry… we’re coming… *then also grabs a box and follows the crowd* *hears Bea from the kitchen and has to grin when Sam asks Amira: “Does she mean me?” and when he sees Amira only shrug with a grin* *hears Sam say: “I’ll come in a second, I first have to get rid of the box.”* *follows her and only then remembers to look at the box* *sees that it’s Laura’s and walks past his room* *puts the box down in a corner and turns around again* *hears Bea while walking past the kitchen: “And to which one of the two you’d say you are closer to?”* *shakes his head with a grin and hurries off*

Bea: *had a nice conversation with Sam and was happy that Sam has praised her pasta salad* *then started preparing the bread rolls and continued chatting with Sam and has also handed her a knife so that she can help her* *looks up when this one girl with the headscarf sticks her head into the kitchen and nods at her in greeting and who then turns to Sam: “Are you coming? Jonas, Matteo and Carlos already want to put up David’s bed and Abdi said that then we girls have to help with carrying stuff…”* *laughs when Sam immediately drops her knife and tells her* Don’t lift too heavy, girls! That’s bad for the fertility! *can see Sam throw her a worried look but then sees her get pulled out of the kitchen by Amira* *keeps preparing bread rolls and looks up when a red haired girl, who looks a little groggy, enters the room* *smiles and holds a bottle of water out to her* Hello! Thirsty?

Hanna: *has helped with carrying but needs a break now* *goes into the kitchen and sees the woman she thinks is David’s godmother* *accepts the bottle of water and immediately takes a few sips straight from the bottle while she sits down on a stool* I’m Hanna, by the way… sorry, we haven’t really been properly introduced in all that chaos…

Bea: *smiles when Hanna accepts and thanks her for the bottle of water and keeps preparing the bread rolls* *tells her while she drinks* If you’re hungry then just help yourself. Laura said that we’re only supposed to eat after we finished the work, but as far as I’m aware, you’ve all already worked pretty hard and then you deserve some refreshment, right? Well, the meat patties are unfortunately cold - I already cooked them last night in Fürstenberg… but the bread rolls and the pasta salad are freshly made… *smiles even more when Hanna introduces herself and finds that very polite of her* *laughs* Yes, a move is always pretty turbulent - I’m just glad that I most likely won’t have to move again - that would probably take two months… *then shakes her head a little* I’m sorry, how rude of me! I’m Bea, David’s godmother! *smiles at her and then says triumphantly* And I already heard of you! You’re Hanna whose grandmother owns the cabin in Heidesee! I’m so happy for David that he could go on holiday with all of you guys this year… I’m sure that did him some good. *leans forward a little conspiratorially and says a little quieter* And was really everyone in favor of him coming along? I mean, that’s not always a given… that someone new joins a group of friends and that he already comes along on a holiday, is it?

Hanna: *listens to her in amusement* *always wonders if people who talk a lot just don’t think about what they’re saying or if they really just want to share everything* *but thinks that Bea is very likeable and not so exhausting* *smiles politely when she introduces herself* Bea, of course… *nods when she says that she already heard about her* Yep, that’s me… *has to laugh slightly when she acts so conspiratorially* *acts the same way when she answers* It was really everyone who was in favor… *grins slightly and then adds with a normal voice* You surely know that, but David really is a very nice guy… and besides, none of us wanted to deal with a whining Matteo for two weeks. *grins at her to show that it was a joke and not the reason why they wanted David there*

Bea: *beams happily when Hanna also seems to know her by name and when she guessed right that it was Hanna’s grandmother who owns the cabin in Heidesee* *then looks at her closely when she confirms that everyone was in favor, but thinks that she sounds honest and therefore says graciously* Well, I’m just going to believe you… you look trustworthy… *nods in confirmation when she says that David is a nice guy and laughs when she’s talking about Matteo* He would have done that!? Only whined for two weeks!? I’d rather taken him for someone who would have stayed at home in the first place… *holds the bread roll she just prepared out to her invitingly and keeps babbling* David and Matteo really praised all of you when they came to visit me and I was really curious to meet you guys. It’s nice that this worked out so quickly… I just don’t quite get the constellations… so there are a few girls and a few boys… but some of the girls are also in a relationship with some of the boys and the two friend groups sometimes mix up or how is that exactly? And how long have you known Matteo? Since 7th grade? I don’t even know who’s good friends with whom… although… as far as I remember… Matteo mentions his best friends’ name… Jonas, right? I also really have to meet him. How close are you and Matteo then? Or do you get along better with David? *then laughs loudly* Oh and if I’m too nosy then feel free to tell me…

Hanna: *laughs slightly and throws her hair back* Thank you, I’m trying very hard… *then grins when she talks about Matteo* True. He definitely would have stayed home. Or would have talked our ears off until they both would have been allowed to come… but that really wasn’t necessary, David is great. *accepts the bread roll with a smile and suspects that she’s being interrogated a little bit right now* *feels her suspicion confirmed when she hears her flood of words and with it a ton of questions* *then laughs when she says that she’s nosy* Nosiness is okay, but there were a lot of questions… well, I’ve known Matteo since 9th grade… we’ve always been in the same classes but we’ve only really been friends for about two years, I’d say… since Jonas and I got together for the first time. Which answers the next question, yes, that’s his best friend… And apart from David and Matteo there are two more couples, Mia and Alex. Mia is the one who went to Spain and Alex is the tall black-haired guy that doesn’t talk much. And Kiki and Carlos, the blond one and the shorter dark-haired guy… *laughs slightly* Was that all? Oh, no, with whom do I get along better… Matteo is basically my best friend, so it’s Matteo… but David is also great, no doubt about that. *lifts her hands slightly amused* So don’t come at me, please.

Bea: *beams when Hanna confirms again that David is great* He really is, isn’t he!? *grins slightly when she says that nosiness is okay and then listens to her attentively* *tries to remember the names of the couples and hopes that she’ll be able to catch some of the other people, as well, and to also get to know them a little* *interrupts her briefly* So /you/ are Jonas’ girlfriend! How nice! *but then lets her continue talking and smiles when she remembers one of her questions herself* *laughs and waves it off when she hears her last words* Oh nonsense… that’s normal! Matteo and you have known each other for much longer, after all… but if you’re together with his best friend then you probably also had a lot of contact with him in the past… that binds someone together, doesn’t it? *then gets a little more serious* Although there are apparently also couples where the best friend and the partner don’t get along at all. Jealousy and such… who’s allowed to spend more time with the most important person… I’ve already seen a lot of things… *then looks at her conspiratorially* By the way, you don’t have to keep emphasizing how great David is just because I’m his godmother… the boy’s also got his faults, I know that. Or hasn’t he shown them in front of you guys, yet?

Hanna: *smiles when she says that it’s nice that she’s with Jonas* Yes, I think so, too… *then presses her lips together a little when she talks about jealousy* Oh, I think we put the jealousy behind us… that made us stronger. *laughs when she says that David also has his faults and decides to also interrogate her a little* David? Faults? Never! What kind of faults??

Bea: *tilts her head curiously when she says that they already put the jealousy behind them, but then pulls herself together and doesn’t keep asking further and instead only says* That’s the main thing. Fighting and problems can’t just pull someone apart but they can also bring someone closer together. That’s how it’s supposed to be, right? *hears her laugh when it’s about David’s faults and just laughs along* So he hasn’t… I should have figured! *takes a new bread roll from the bag and cuts it open* *says with a slight grin* Okay, where do I start…? And how will I formulate it without David tearing my head off later!? So, there is his flight instinct on the one hand - although: I heard that he’s got a pretty good handle on it since he’s gotten together with Matteo… and then… well he sometimes really is quite stubborn... he needs a plan for everything and so on… and… well, he does tend to bottle up things to not burden anyone else… so that no one has to worry, you know? I mean, you could also consider it a good trait, of course… but I still used to constantly worry… sometimes I would have preferred to know what was going on… *slightly presses her lips together because she thinks that she has already said too much and quickly changes the topic* And what kinds of faults are there in your friend group?

Hanna: *only nods when she says that something like jealousy can bring someone closer together and doesn’t comment on it further* *then listens to her with interest when she talks about David* *was somehow aware of the thing with his flight instinct* *has never really properly defined the thing with him being stubborn but also thinks that it fits David* *swallows slightly when she says that he bottles up problems* Well, then I know someone else who likes bottling up things… maybe Matteo and he can pull each other out of this a little… *but then has to grin again when she gives the question back* We’re all perfect! *laughs slightly* No, we all have our faults, of course, but overall it’s the nicest bunch you can imagine, really. I completely trust all of them, so you can overlook quite a few faults… *intentionally hasn’t told her any specific faults and gets up now* Speaking of, I’ll go help again… I don’t want them to think I’d avoid helping…

Bea: *frowns slightly when Hanna says that Matteo does the same thing David does and then sighs and nods* Let’s hope so, right? I do feel like they trust each other quite a lot, or what do you think? You see them much more often than I do… *then laughs when Hanna says that everyone in the friend group is perfect* Of course! So am I! Does this mean I’m also allowed to join the group?! *smiles when she’s talking about her friends so nicely and thinks that this is exactly how it’s supposed to be - that a group of friends sticks together* *is happy that David is now part of this group and loses herself a little in her thoughts* *gets pulled out when Hanna says that she wants to go help again* *laughs quietly* Well we don’t want that, of course… it was nice to meet you, Hanna! And if you’re hungry or thirsty then I’m your best friend… *laughs and looks after her when she leaves the kitchen after taking another bread roll* *watches her run into a boy in the hallway and hears him say: “Awesome, bread rolls! Let me have a bite!”* *grins and waves her arms* There’s more in here, young man! And something to drink! People who work hard have earned themselves some refreshment! Come in, I don’t bite!

Jonas: *has managed to put up David’s bed together with Matteo and Carlos and was just about to go downstairs to see how much is left to carry when he meets Hanna in the hallway, who is coming out of the kitchen* *sees that she’s holding a bread roll and was just about to take it from her to take a bite when he gets called into the kitchen* *has already heard that David’s godmother is taking care of the food and is a little curious to meet her* *besides, he’s also hungry and thirsty and therefore laughs at her comment and enters the kitchen* *smiles and holds his hand out to Bea* Hello! I’m Jonas… that all looks delicious…

Bea: *is happy that she manages to get a hold of Jonas right after Hanna* Hello, Jonas, nice to meet you, I’m Bea, David’s godmother. *shakes his hand and then points to the bottle of water on the table* If you’re thirsty feel free to help yourself, so far only Hanna drank from it, that shouldn’t be a problem for you… and here, also have a bread roll… *holds a bread roll out to him* But don’t tell Laura, she’s scared that there won’t be enough left in the end… even though we have enough food here to feed an entire army… how are things going along? Is there a lot left to do? I already heard that Matteo and David have switched their beds… for whatever reason. They have to switch it back again in three months, then they just could have left Matteo’s bed here, but maybe we don’t have to understand that, right? *smiles at him* Those two have their preferences and quirks, right? Outsiders sometimes wonder about it, but if it makes the two of them happy… *tilts her head a little* Do you think they’re happy? Well Matteo I mean? You know him best, I’ve heard…

Jonas: *immediately grabs the bottle of water when Bea points at it and grins* Thanks… no, I don’t mind… but I think there are also glasses in the cupboard over there… *points at the cupboard* *takes a big sip and then accepts the bread roll with a smile* Thanks… *takes a bite and then gets flooded by her wordflow* *starts commenting or answering questions several times, but doesn’t really get the chance to finish* *laughs quietly when she really finally stops talking and takes a deep breath* Phew… *grins slightly and asks* May I answer now? *but then smiles as a sign that it wasn’t ill-intended and nods* We’re getting ahead quite well! The bed is up! And I’ve stopped questioning any decisions that Matteo and David are making together quite a while ago… *grins slightly* *then gets serious again and shrugs* *doesn’t really want to spill the beans and therefore only says* Well to me they both seem really happy! Of course I know Matteo pretty well… so of course I can see that… that he’s pretty happy, I mean… but you might know David better than I do… so your impression is probably just as important as mine. Do you think that /he/ is happy?

Bea: *has turned to the cupboard while she was talking and put a few glasses on the table* *hears Jonas ask if he can talk now* Yes, of course, sorry, I talk too much… *nods when he gives a status report* *smiles when he says that Matteo is happy, but can already tell that she won’t be able to coax as much out of him as she could with Hanna* *immediately nods at his question* Oh yes, very happy, he’s never been this happy. I’ve never seen him like this. *stirs the potato salad a little while she continues talking* I’m very grateful to Matteo, I already was before I even knew him, but now even more so… They always say that a relationship can’t cure you or something like that… but you know, if you’ve only been disappointed then positive experiences and relationships can definitely have a healing effect… not only Matteo, but all of you… *looks at Jonas* I know, you don’t want to spill the beans, and that’s okay… but David is my boy, and seeing how good he’s doing here that’s just wonderful… and therefore I’m nosey and want to meet the people who make him so happy, you understand?

Jonas: *smiles slightly when she takes the glasses out of the aforementioned cupboard and continues eating his bread roll before he answers her questions* *then smiles a little more when she says that David has never been this happy and that she’s grateful to Matteo* *laughs quietly* Matteo would tell you now that he didn’t do much… but yes, I agree with you… I don’t know that much about David’s past… only that he wasn’t really doing too good… that he didn’t really have anyone he could trust… and I don’t know if it’s really due to the difference between life on the countryside and life in the city… *shrugs one shoulder and smiles* …but hey… we’re all here… and we love David the way he is and we can’t really understand why no one has done this before we did… *takes another bite off his bread roll and listens to her further* *nods and swallows* Sure… I can understand that… *tilts his head a little and then says* But it’s somehow also a give and take, isn’t it? I mean, it’s not just that we somehow enrich his life or something… he also enriches our friend group… *then makes an effort and gives her an honest answer to her question from earlier, after all* And I have to say that I’ve never seen Matteo this happy, either… and I’ve known him since kindergarten! So even if David wouldn’t want anything to do with us as a group of friends, then I’d still be eternally grateful to him for making my best friend so happy!

Bea: *smiles slightly at Jonas’ words* *believes every word he says and finds it really nice that David found friends like that* I can’t understand that, either… *then hears him answer her question, after all, and smiles to herself* That’s nice… really. Joans: *smiles when Bea says that she always wanted all of this for David, even though he once again feels like he knows way too little about David’s past* *laughs quietly when she holds the pack of cookies out to him* *takes a cookie and asks in amusement* Is that the reward? Did I answer all the questions correctly!? *then still looks amused but simultaneously also skeptical and a little disbelievingly when she says that he can send the next one in* Not seriously, right!? *then asks more as a joke* Who would you like to speak to next?

Bea: *only grins when he asks if this is the reward and shakes her head* No, nonsense… I just like talking to you guys… there’s no right or wrong. *then laughs loudly when he stares at her so disbelievingly* No, no, it’s okay… sooner or later people always come into the kitchen… *slightly tilts her head and holds the pack out to him* You can take this with you if you want.

Jonas: *grins when she says that sooner or later people always come into the kitchen and nods* Hunger and thirst compel them to go to the source… *then hears Kiki: “Man, I’m so thirsty… Jonas do you know if we can just help ourselves in here?!”* *briefly turns to Kiki and then to Bea* *nods satisfied and says* Here’s the first one already… *looks between Kiki and Bea and introduces them to each other* Kiki - Bea, Bea - Kiki! Bea: *nods when Jonas agrees with her* *laughs when at that exact moment someone really announces that they’re thirsty* *then smiles nicely when they get introduced to each other* Hello Kiki… glasses are on the table and I’ll get you a fresh bottle, Hanna and Jonas already drank from the other one… *goes to the fridge and takes a fresh bottle of water out and puts it on the table* *then goes back to work on the bread rolls and peeks over her shoulder* And so you’re Kiki, huh? Hanna already told me, you’re with Carlos? You have a nice big group of friends… or does it sometimes get too much?

Kiki: *enters the kitchen and drops down on one of the stools* *smiles at Bea* Hello! David’s godmother, right? *takes the bottle of water that Bea has put down in front of her and pours herself some* Thank you! *takes a sip and listens to Bea* *beams when she immediately knows who she is and that she and Carlos are a couple* Yeees… 6 months already! *then immediately shakes her head at her question* No, I’d say exactly the right size! I mean, we’re not all constantly together in one big group… sometimes it’s only us girls… or just the boys… and there are also several individual friendships. I’m closer to Sam and Mia… or Matteo and Jonas… or Carlos and Abdi… but if there’s a big event then we all meet up and that’s always really nice. David has surely told you about Heidesee, hasn’t he?

Bea: *listens to her enthusiastically and can already tell that Kiki also likes talking* *turns around to her* Oh yes, that sounds nice. It’s always good if that’s working out in a group of friends, individual friendships and of course the couples I mean, you also have a few of them… and if all of that’s possible without any jealousy and envy that’s really very important. Would you say that it’s completely without jealousy and arguments? Although arguments can sometimes also be important… does anyone get angry sometimes? *tilts her head a little and hopes that she’ll tell her something about David and/or Matteo, of course*

Kiki: *nods vigorously at Bea’s words and takes another sip of water* *then hears her question and has to think about it first* Well… jealousy!? No, I don’t think so… well nothing that would somehow destroy the friendship or anything… *laughs a little insecurely and adds* Well, amongst us girls there were one or two incidents... *has to think about the story between Alex, Mia and herself, but then quickly shakes her head* ...but we could fix all of it again… and well, I don’t know that much about the boys… but I think they’re pretty chill about that. *takes another sip and then shrugs* Sometimes there are fights… but never anything bad. Usually we’re able to clear it up straight away… just like with being angry… but if you ask me, that also says something about the group that we can do that, right? I mean, that we can sometimes fight but then make up again… *eyes the bread rolls and sees that there isn’t any vegan option* *interrupts Bea and asks* Can I maybe have one without anything on it?! *gives her a little fake smile and explains* I try to mostly eat vegan food…

Bea: *listens to her with interest and thinks that it really sounds like a very normal group of friends* *perks her ears when she’s talking about the boys and is a little disappointed when she doesn’t know any details* *then nods* Yes, that’s definitely part of it… in any relationship, whether romantic or just friends… *looks at her in surprise when she says that he wants a bread roll with nothing on it* Oh yes of course, no one told me, sorry… *hands her a bread roll without anything on it* Oh and yes, David has told me about Heidesee… he was really thrilled. Especially the thing with the swim binders, Carlos was the one who organized that, right? Do the two of them get on especially well?

Kiki: *waves it off and accepts the bread roll* Thanks… and no problem. You couldn’t have known… *takes a bite and smiles when Bea says that David was so thrilled about Heidesee* *swallows and then nods proudly* Yes, that was Carlos’ idea with the swim binders. *laughs quietly and slightly shakes her head* *then says lovingly* When it’s about David, Carlos is somehow… no idea, very attentive and emphatic. He did a lot of research… about dysphoria and testosterone and so on. But especially dysphoria is something that he takes really serious and therefore he could relate so well why it was so difficult for David to go swimming. I mean, none of us would have minded. We all know about it. But Carlos said that it’s not about us, that it’s about David. And that we can’t really understand how it feels. And he apparently talked about it with David, why it’s so difficult for him and David apparently told him that he doesn't want to stand out… and that everyone will look when he’s the only one wearing a swim binder. And then Carlos convinced all the guys to also get one - even Alex! And that’s saying something - I never would have thought that. Well, but Alex and David got a little closer in Heidesee, anyways. I think that made Carlos feel a little insecure at first. He really likes David… but I told him that this doesn’t mean that David now likes him less, just because now he’s also friends with Alex. *takes another bite off her bread roll*

Bea: *smiles when Kiki is so proud and finds that nice* *listens to her attentively and thinks that Carlos sounds really great* *then hears something about Alex and wonders why David has never really mentioned him and plans on definitely also getting a hold of him, as well* I find it really great that Carlos did so much research and that he took his time to talk to David and understand him. That’s definitely something he didn’t have before, and I can imagine that it means a lot to him. And I really think that Carlos doesn’t have to worry, David has a very big heart and has a lot of space for a lot of people. *then also grabs a glass and pours herself some water* And what about you? Are you closer to David or Matteo? You’ve known Matteo for longer, haven’t you?

Kiki: *smiles proudly and nods when Bea talks about Carlos so nicely* *then confirms* Yes, that’s what I told him, as well… *then tilts her head slightly at her question and thinks about it* *laughs a little insecurely* Well… yes, I’ve known Matteo for a while… but really being friends… I don’t know… we’re both part of a big group of friends, but individually I actually don’t have much to do with neither David nor Matteo… the boys really are a pretty chaotic bunch and sometimes a little silly and immature, if you know what I mean… well Carlos is like that, as well, when he’s with them. But when we’re alone he really is very different. Well, and David and Matteo… if I think about it then it’s more likely that I’d be friends with David. He’s a little more mature than Matteo, I’d say… more organized and thoughtful. He also was a good help when it came to organizing stuff for Heidesee. So I can really understand that Carlos likes being friends with David. Although he's also very close to Matteo… *takes another sip and tears another bit off her bread roll*

Bea: *sees how proudly she smiles and finds it very charming that she’s so proud of Carlos* *smiles encouragingly when she seems to be a little insecure* *has to laugh slightly when she says that David is more mature* *also knows a different side of him, but can understand where that impression is coming from* *nods slightly* Yes, David likes to plan and likes to know what’s going to happen… *finds Kiki really unique and wonders if one can bring her off course with something* *tilts her head a little and scrutinizes her before she intentionally puts on a more serious tone of voice* And so you think that Matteo is immature, yes? Do you think David has to do a lot for him?

Kiki: *nods when Bea describes David* Yes, he’s similar to me in that regard. I could never go to Heidesee just like that, without making a list of what to bring in advance and so on… *looks a little shocked for a moment when Bea condenses and summarizes her opinion on Matteo so precisely and gets a little insecure for a moment at the question* Oh well… I can really imagine that Matteo might be different when it comes to David? No idea. After all, Carlos is also different when he’s with me. But I think when it comes to planning and such, then that’s mostly David who’s taking care of it, don’t you think? Okay, you haven’t known Matteo for very long and don’t know him that well… but I can imagine really well that David tells him what the plan is and then they’re both taking care of it… or also that certain things aren’t as important to Matteo and that he then just lets David do his thing? Well I don’t know that much about their relationship, of course… and I don’t want to talk ill of Matteo… he really loves David very much - I’m 100 % sure about that! I’ve never seen him as happy and balanced as he is since he got together with David! And I also didn’t know that he can be so protective, if you know what I mean. So I do sometimes see a different side of him since the two of them got together… but yes, I’d still say that David is more mature than Matteo.

Bea: *laughs slightly when Kiki just lets everything out and finds all of it extremely interesting* So, I’ve only known Matteo with David and therefore I can’t compare it, but I do feel like those two have a very balanced relationship and that Matteo also gives a lot to David… being protective, as you called it… *smiles slightly* I’m definitely very glad that those two have found each other. *takes a sip of water* And by the way, I don’t think that a relationship changes a person in this sense, I think a relationship can draw out a different side of a person, but basically that has always been there. For example I think that Matteo was always protective over people who are important to him, but when it comes to David, this side of him just really shows. *shrugs one shoulder and laughs slightly* But what do I know? You young people all have better relationships than I ever had… I always felt constricted by relationships and you guys all blossom, and that’s how it’s supposed to be. *laughs again* Sorry, sometimes I talk too much and get too personal…

Kiki: *eats her bread roll and listens to Bea* *slightly shakes her head and corrects herself* Oh, I didn’t mean that they don’t have a balanced relationship. I do think so… they just complement each other quite well… *listens to her further and nods at her words about relationships, but waves it off when she apologizes for talking too much and laughs* Oh, that just makes a person likeable. I’m very similar in that regard! *takes another sip and then says* I don’t think that this thing with relationships is a matter of generations, it’s more a matter of type. Some people just need more freedom… there are enough people like that in our generation, as well. But in our friend group I do think that it’s more that everyone profits quite a lot from their relationships. I mean, we have 3 singles in our group - from one of them, I really would say that she enjoys her freedom and that the absolutely perfect guy has to show up before she’d get into a really serious and mature relationship. But Abdi for example also yearns for it… and Amira… yes, I do think so… but she just really has to meet the right one… who shares her belief and her way of life. In that case it’s not so easy to find someone. But with all the couples it really feels like that their life with their partner is exactly what they need and want to be happy… *laughs and shakes her head* Oh, that sounds a little sappy, but I think that it’s exactly like that… *then hears Hanna from the doorway and turns around to her: “Kiki, could you come, please? We wanted to help Laura already unpack a few boxes… there are only heavy things left to carry…”* *nods at Hanna* Alright, I’m coming… *turns around to Bea again and smiles* It was nice talking to you. I’m sure we’ll see each other again later… *gets up and leaves the kitchen*

Bea: *listens to her with interest and finds her very intelligent and also a little romantic, but likes it* *smiles sightly and was about to say something when Hanna asks Kiki to help* *smiles at her* Yes, we’ll see each other again later… *then looks after the two of them and gets back to work with the bread rolls* *thinks that she still really wants to meet this Alex, because he apparently befriended David* *thinks about which one of the remaining boys might be Alex* *then hears Jonas’ voice: “Alex, watch out, behind you!”* *quickly peeks out of the kitchen and is just in time to see Jonas, and apparently Alex, carrying part of David’s desk past the kitchen* *waits patiently for them to return and then quickly calls* Alex! You didn’t have a bread roll yet, come on in and have some food! *can’t hear or see Jonas grinning at Alex and that he whispers “have fun” at him*

Alex: *has just carried up half of David’s desk with Jonas and was planning on quickly carrying up the rest as well when Bea calls him in* *looks at Jonas skeptically when he wishes him fun and whispers* Do I have to? *sees Jonas only nod and then goes into the kitchen* *was just about to say that he’s not hungry when he already has food in his hand* Umm… thanks…

Bea: *smiles satisfied when Alex really comes into the kitchen and immediately hands him a bread roll* *waves it off when he thanks her and pours him something to drink* Nonsense… you guys have to eat something considering how hard you’re woking… *puts the glass down in front of him* By the way, I’m Bea, David’s godmother. *sighs and then sits down on a stool because she’s now finished with the bread rolls* *thinks that she’ll just start casually because Alex seems rather closed-off to her* Are you guys getting ahead well? Laura and David are so grateful that they could store so much of their stuff at your place. That makes you realize how much a good friend-group is worth, doesn’t it? I mean, finding an apartment in Berlin within one month really is utopian… but it’s great that you’re all helping out like that. I mean, it’s not even 3 pm and you’re already almost finished with everything, right? Many hands make light work, right?! *laughs quietly*

Alex: *nods slightly when she says that they have to eat* Mhm. *takes a sip of the water and turns the bread roll around in his hands a little* *nods again when she introduces herself* Yes. *then listens to her and lifts his eyebrows a little when she talks so much* *thinks that she reminds him a little of Kiki* Umm… yes, we’re getting ahead well. *slightly shrugs one shoulder and takes a bite off his bread roll*

Bea: *doesn’t really let it show that she’s a little confused at how taciturn Alex’ answers are* *thinks that maybe he’s just a little shy and that there surely are reasons why David befriended him* *therefore beams when he says that they’re getting ahead well* That sounds fantastic! Then you’ll surely be finished soon and I’ll meet everyone together… I was already really curious! David has really praised you all and I’m so happy for him that he’s so happy. *also pours herself something to drink and then asks* And what about you? Have you known them all from school? Or for longer? I heard that Jonas and Matteo have known each other since kindergarten! That’s unbelievable!

Alex: *listens to her very closely and watches her* *thinks that she surely wants to make sure that David is doing good and that one of the other idiots has told her that he and David became friends* *smiles slightly when she says that David praised all of them* *then shakes his head at her question* No… *but sees her looking at him expectantly and therefore says* I had to repeat my last year, so I haven’t known all of them for much longer than David has.

Bea: *looks at him questioningly and expectantly when he gives her another taciturn answer and smiles happily when he adds another sentence, after all* *then smiles even more when she says* But the fact that you were able to connect with them so quickly basically also says something for the group, doesn’t it? *doesn’t remember right now that Alex is with Mia - with all the couples and constellations she learned about today, that’s not a surprise* I mean, it’s not so easy if you repeat a year - there’s your old group of friends, but you no longer see them at school every day… and there are so many new people in your new year… I can imagine that you don’t know at first where you even belong… or where you want to belong… *takes another sip and then asks* And through whom did you meet all the people here? And with whom do you get along best? *laughs quietly* I’ve already learned of so many constellations today - it’s a little difficult to keep track… *leans closer a little conspiratorially and says with a grin* I should have made diagrams from the beginning to remember all of it.

Alex: *can barely suppress a sigh when Bea of course keeps asking questions* *wonders if he can just leave* *but then thinks that it’s best if he gives her some information so that she will leave him alone* Oh yes, the friend group is great, really awesome, just marvellous. *then gives her a brief, forced smile* *then hears that she has further questions* I’m with Mia, since around February. *thinks that this answers both questions* *shakes his head in slight amusement when she acts so conspiratorially* Yep. *then looks at her and decides to make it easier for her* Okay, I know that you’re David’s godmother and that you probably want to get to know everyone because you’re interested in David’s life. But as you might have noticed, I’m not really the type to talk much. So why don’t you just ask me what you really want to know? I’ll give you a detailed answer and then that’s it, okay?

Bea: *looks at him a little confused when he talks about the friend group so exaggeratedly euphoric and frowns slightly* *thinks that Alex really might not be the type for smalltalk and wonders why it’s exactly him that David gets a long so well with* *but then nods at his info that he’s with Mia and smiles* Oh yes, of course, Mia! Who gave Laura her room… that’s surely not that easy for you, is it? Three months of long-distance relationship… *thinks that maybe that’s why he’s not in the best mood right now* *then looks slightly surprised when he gives her more than just a short answer and laughs when she realizes what he’s getting at* Okay, you saw right through me! Of course I want to know who my David stumbled upon here and if he’s doing good here and what kind of people are enriching his life like that… *tilts her head a little and considers* Okay… so no smalltalk, I see… so what do I really want to know… hmm? *then smiles slightly and asks him plainly* Kiki told me that you and David are friends… and - if I’m honest and direct: I don’t know you, but my first impression of you is that you’re a rather distanced guy… and maybe not quite as open as the rest of your group… with the rest I can imagine really well that they have made it easy for David to be a part of the group… but with you? *tilts her head a little* Hmmm… I don’t know… how do you fit in there? In all of this? And what connects David and you? And would you even agree with Kiki? Are you good friends?

Alex: *listens to her a little amused* *finds that it fits quite well that she has that information from Kiki* *slightly presses his lips together when she thinks he’s distanced* *then hears her ask five questions instead of one* *would point that out to the people of the friend group and demand that they pick one question* *but doesn’t want to snub Bea even more* *slightly shrugs one shoulder and answers honestly* I don’t know how I fit in there. And I also don’t know if David found it easy or difficult to befriend me, you’ll have to ask him that. But I can tell you that I do think that we’re good friends. We’re honest with each other, I think. At least that’s something I value about David. We talked, because we both were the ones who couldn’t join in on the conversation about stories from school. *then pauses for a second because he has to think about how to formulate his next words* I think we get along because we get each other. Well, he wasn’t put out by my short answers and my wall. *shrugs one shoulder and smiles sightly* Is that enough for you?

Bea: *looks at him with interest when he really starts giving her a more detailed answer and smiles slightly because now she can really see for the first time that you can really have a conversation with him* *but also finds it pretty honest and brave to say that he doesn’t know how he fits in there* *smiles more when he says what he values about David* *then grins slightly when he asks if that’s enough for her and says rather jokingly* Of course not… *then laughs when she sees his face and says* Sure, what connects you is that you weren’t part of this group from the beginning, but that alone isn’t enough to be friends. *leans forward slightly and briefly puts her hand on his arm* And it also says a lot about you that David wasn’t deterred by it, right? So he must have felt that there’s more behind the short answers and the wall… or you showed him that there’s more? *sighs and moves her hand away again* Well, he knows a lot about walls… *gets lost in her thoughts for a few seconds, but then turns her full attention back to Alex once more* So would you say that you’re better friends with David than with Matteo? Or do you get along well with both of them?

Alex: *slightly lifts his eyebrows when she says that it’s not enough for a friendship* *wonders why she thinks she can judge this* *automatically pulls his arm away when she puts her hand on it* *shrugs one shoulder at her questions* Why don’t you ask David what he sees in me? A distanced ice block who only gives short answers? *but then hears her comment and feels a little sorry for reacting like that, because she’s really only worried about David* *immediately nods at her question* I’m definitely better friends with David… Matteo is more like… a little brother, quite alright but also a little annoying. *has finished his bread roll by now and puts his glass down* And you should really ask David all of this if you’re so interested. *then grins slightly* Or do you think he approves of you questioning us here?

Bea: *looks a little sulky when he says that she should ask David what he sees in him and laughs drily for a second* You know what? Maybe I’ll really do that. Although I’m pretty sure that I’ll get in a lot of trouble with him if I’d use words like “distanced ice block with short answers”... *then hears him answer her question honestly and smiles a little conciliatory* *even laughs quietly when he describes his relationship to Matteo and says* I think that’s just what little brothers are like… quite alright but a little annoying… *then grins slightly and nods again* I’ll definitely ask him… *then laughs out loud* Oh - David would tear my head off! And to be honest, I didn’t even mean to go that far… I just wanted to see what kind of people are now part of his life… but oftentimes not even I can fight my curiosity… then one question automatically follows the next and I can barely stop myself… Yes, but you’re right, of course… he wouldn’t like it! *shrugs and smiles a little desperately* It would be nice if you didn’t tell on me… *empties her glass and then says* And I don’t want to keep you here or anything… and I’m sorry if I offended you… *smiles slightly* You know, basically I trust my godson’s judgment… I’m pretty sure that he has a lot of reasons for being friends with you… maybe because you can see right through things and don’t put on an act? I don’t think that I’ll manage to find that out within 10 minutes… but maybe one day? But my opinion actually doesn’t really matter, you know? What’s important to me is that David has found people here that he trusts and who take him the way he is. And if you’re one of those people then I’m happy for him that he found you… *grins slightly* ...and for you, too, of course…

Alex: *nods slightly when she describes David and his reactions* *laughs slightly* Okay, I won’t tell on you… *then listens to her again and thinks that she has a pretty good picture of him* *nods slightly* I’m sorry if I made it difficult for you, but yes, I’m not a chatterbox and fundamentally skeptical… but I think I can reassure you. I trust David and I don’t trust many people. *also grins slightly* And I think he also trusts me. *then kicks himself away from the counter* But I’ll get going again now… see you later, I guess.

David: *can’t really believe that they really managed to finish the entire move before 3 pm and is now sitting on the edge of the moving van with his arm wrapped around Matteo, while one by one the others are joining them* *presses a quick kiss to Matteo’s temple and murmurs quietly and happily* We’re done… *kisses him again and then looks at Alex, who is coming out of the house* *smiles slightly and hears Amira say: “Nothing left to carry - we’re done!”* *sees Alex grin and then hears Jonas calling toward him: “So? Were you able to answer all questions correctly?”* *looks between the two of them in confusion and sees Alex grin and shrug: “I’m not so sure…”* *then hears Amira laughing: “Did he just come back from Bea’s?” and Kiki: “Well I really had a very nice conversation with her. She was totally interested!” and Jonas: “Yes, that’s one way to call it…”* *skeptically looks from one to the other* Umm… hang on… did she somehow question you guys or something?

Matteo: *has put his head down onto David’s shoulder and grins slightly when he gets a kiss* We’re finished… *then hears the others’ conversation and has to laugh slightly* *looks at David* Oh come on, that’s totally Bea’s style… she also questioned me… *sees Jonas grin: “Yep, I can really imagine that very well!”* *then hears Carlos: “What? She questioned all of you? Even Sam?”* *sees Sam grin and nod and hears Carlos announce outraged: “She didn’t question me!” and Abdi: “Me neither!”* *then hears Kiki: “Carlos, I already told her a lot about you…”* *grins in amusement when Carlos doesn’t seem to hear that and instead hears him say: “I’ll go up there right now! I can also tell her stuff about David!”* *laughs when Jonas says: “And Matteo, she’s also interested in him!”* *shrugs and then hears Abdi: “I’ll come with you!”*

David: *groans quietly when everyone confirms that they were questioned by Bea* *laughs when Carlos and Abdi complain about being overlooked, but grimaces slightly when they really want to go upstairs to also get questioned* Hey guys… you really don’t have to… it’s not that exciting… *hears Hanna laugh: “Maybe not exciting… but it is interesting…”* *groans when Abdi and Carlos really start moving and then hears Jonas: “So what’s it gonna be? Should I already take the car back? We managed to finish in under 6 hours - I’m sure it’ll cost less if we return it so soon!”* *nods gratefully* Yes, that would be nice… umm… should someone come with you? *looks at Matteo questioningly, but then sees Alex wave it off: “It’s okay, you still have enough left to do here… I’ll follow Jonas and then I’ll give him a ride back… then we’ll be back here faster.”* *looks between Alex and Jonas a little skeptically to see if it’s really okay, but then nods and smiles gratefully* Thanks! *takes his arm off Matteo’s shoulder and jumps off the back of the van* *murmurs mostly to himself* But first, I’ll go stop Bea...
