Lena startles and whips around when Alex pushes the door open, but her face relaxes in to a confused smile when she recognises her visitor.

“Alex. How did you…?” she starts, standing. She’s already kicked her heels off, and the sight of her walking towards her in stockinged feet is enough to make Alex smile. “Were you so desperate to avoid my security detail that you climbed the building?” She looks alarmed at the idea, but Alex grins despite her nervousness.

“No, I… had help. Lena, listen…” She catches Lena’s hands as they move towards her face and presses them to her chest, aware for the first time in almost a year that Kara is just outside, and the door is open enough that she’d be able to hear them even without superhearing. “I just… I need to…”

“Are you okay?” Lena asks, frowning, but before Alex can answer, Lena’s gaze shifts to something behind her. “Is there someone with you?”

Glancing over her shoulder, Alex sees a Kara-shaped blur edging towards the door and realises that her time is up. “Yeah, and it’s fine, okay? It’s good. Please, just….” But Alex sees Lena’s face change, sees the moment Kara must appear in the door, and Alex drops her hands and steps aside.

“Oh my god, Kara,” Lena breathes, her hand going to her chest.

Little Update

Thank you to everyone who has supported me these past fourty eight hours. I don't remember a time when I have felt so upset, and I can't believe the amount of love I've gotten. You guys have been the shoulder in which I cry into and I thank you.

If you don't feel comfortable reading or interacting with any art or writing online, you have options.

Block the user who creates it. No fanfare, no sending an ask to tell them you're doing it, just go to the blog, tap on the little person icon in the upper right corner, and hit block, then confirm it.

Filter tags and/or content. Blacklisting certain tags and keywords can go a long way in ensuring you see what you want to see. Go to your blog's settings, go to Content You See, and type in the tags and content you want to filter.

DO NOT report someone for writing or drawing, unless there is evidence that real, actual people are being harmed in its creation.

DO NOT send anon hate or spread negativity about users for creating things you judge to be "immoral" or "illegal" involving fictional characters.

Tailor your online fandom experience! Make it your place! But if you have to insult, report, or harass other people to make your safe space, take a step back and think about why you need to control other people's actions to make you comfortable. You shouldn't have to, unless you are genuinely being stalked or harassed (and those have definitions and you should look them up). Coexist! Support those you like! Ignore those you don't agree with! Hey, random question, but do you think the Elves of LotR - because of their lifespans - thought of Turtles/Tortoises as appropriate pets, and perhaps had a fondness for them similar to humans with dogs? I mean, for a thousand year old elf, a tortoise that lives to 100+ is basically like humans living to 100 and having dogs that live to 10- years. Just a random thought that occurred to me, and for some reason, when I have random thoughts like these I come to you haha (Hope that's okay)

What an absolutely delightful thought. Perhaps they would think of parrots and other long-lived birds similarly? 🤔 I like the idea!

Heyy I was listening to some random french song and I suddenly remembered you used to sing as a hobby, do you still do that? How's that going?

Hi!!! I still love singing, but I don't find as many opportunities to do it and that makes me kinda sad. I used to sing in the church choir in college, and I LOVED every second of it. But since moving back home and getting a job, I've found two things:

It's hard to find the time in the day when I'm alone and can really let loose

The Catholic churches around here range from "what the fuck are you preaching?? That's not in the Bible??" to "WhyisTheMusicSoDarnFAST" to "...eh"

Sooooooo finding a community where 1. a nonbinary soul like mine feels welcome, 2. the priests (and congregants) aren't racist and isl*mophobic as fuck, and 3. the music is half-way decent (and not sung like an Olympic sprinting event??) has been a #Struggle. But I'm still looking!

So I had a mental image that I'm not sure who else would enjoy as much (at least I hope you enjoy it :D) But here goes:

So I was listening to Florence and the Machine 'Shake it off' and the line came: 'I am done with my graceless heart, so tonight I'm gonna cut it out and then restart' and I just pictured a scene (as you do) of a gramophone playing this in the captains quarters and then Davy Jones popping up, holding a cup/bottle up in his giant clawed hand 'cheers-ing' Florence lyrics. Maybe he'd just be looking all glassy doe eyed for someone finally getting him *shrugs*.... I don't know why this only just occurred to me, but I have a feeling I'm not going to be listening to that song the same in the future haha.

His arm shot out, but Rudy was already too far away to grab it. Grievous had grabbed onto his leg on the way down, and his claws still dug into Rudy’s calf. The added weight dragged them both down, through the smoke-clogged air, to the war-ravaged city below.
