HEYY, I saw you wanted descendants requests, so here's one:
Can I request a preference with whatever characters you want, where reader has another form (animal form, form with stuff like claws or wings or smth, I'll leave it up to you)
thank you thank youuuu!!! ; also decided to go with uma on this one cause I thought it would be cool enough considering she's got fun little octopus powers and shit ; but thank you for requesting! hope you enjoy! ; gang I did not realize this was supposed to be a preference... I apologize LMFAO
UMA HALI ; anamorph
summary ; as an anamorph, you can turn into an animal at your will, that animal being a cat
warnings ; language
word count ; 250
masterlist
Tumblr media
even though it's kinda dumb, your anamorph is pretty useful
as a cat, you can sneak around places and are very agile
your power is also very useful to uma as well
if she needs backup or a spy, she's got you
you're really good at spying
she's joked around and tried to feed you cat food/treats before but you always switch back to smack her light heartedly
like gang... you don't eat fish in your octopus form? why would you eat cat food?
on that topic, you've tried cat food before
despite the pretty appetizing smell, it's awful, texture and taste wise
you also like hiding from uma in your cat form
hide and seek goes crazy w her, harry & gil
half the time when you're a cat on the street, they mistake you for a stray and try to feed you or lure you in to take care of you
then you morph back like "guys, you didn't realize it was me??"
and they try to joke it off like "omg no we knew we were just messing w you"
and they're giving each other "jesus christ were stupid" looks
you're able to spy on audrey during her villain arc and inform the gang on her whereabouts and what her plan is
you're a big asset trusttt
but uma loves parading you around
especially loves bragging to mal about how she has an awesome spy for a friend
like okay can we focus on your other traits please!

Here is slightly anamorphic version of A Frau Line, my friend over on instagram helped sketch out an idea of what to do for her body, since she is just a line.
Tumblr media
She is super tall and super sharp, and I love her 🩵

I also quite like drawing the organs, never thought I’d say that, but I find drawing the lines therapeutic.

SUBLIME CINEMA #676 - THE SOUND OF MUSIC
It's hokum, but this movie is also one of the most beautifully photographed, transportive films ever made. It helps that Salzburg is kind of frozen in time - everything there today still looks exactly as it did then. The look is pure bliss.
Robert Wise made this as a follow up to the Haunting. Both are so different and yet so completely iconic - most people could probably quote this movie without ever having seen it.

Oof, may have gone a little overboard with the filter’s here. BUT Come vibe with me at work! I'm just editing a video for a client; this one's pretty motion graphics heavy. I've been editing a lot, for a lighting company, VFX guru, and most recently a short film. Haven't had a lot of time for my own stuff late, but hopefully soon I can make time.
Full 4k version here!

Behind The Scenes of Fixing Freakdog / Red Mist (2008) Behind The Scenes
Watch the 3 videos on Youtube support me on ko-fi or buy my art on redbubble
Red Mist's BTS videos don't work well with ripping software, the mix of (anamorphic widescreen) 16:9 and 4:3 in the mpeg file isn't understood so the software creates a file that is entirely 16:9, stretching the 4:3 segments. If you disable the anamorphic flag the 4:3 BTS footage displays correctly but 16:9 film clips are squashed, which is not ideal but since the film clips are superfluous it doesn't matter as much that they display incorrectly...
which might be fine for most people but it bugged the shit out of me
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
correct vs incorrect aspect ratios
The only way to get both to display correctly is to cut each time the aspect ratio changed, which as you can see by the markers/clips is a lot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
editing done with Shotcut
here's a clip from part way through the process - at the start you have the corrected 4:3, which cuts to the original 16:9 then is followed by the stretched 4:3

Movie #10 of 2024: The X Files
I've been watching the series on Hulu and they remastered it for widescreen t.v.'s and some of the framing is hilarious when they block the actors super close together in the center of the screen.
The first three seasons are fantastic. My favorite episode is probably "Squeeze" which includes snap crackling pop dialog from Mulder like, "Is there anyway I can get it off my fingers quickly without betraying my cool exterior?" [shakes hand wildy]
My other favorite aspect of the early seasons includes on location shooting in Vancouver so nearly every episode they're in a forest. This dynamic led to magnificent storytelling decisions facilitated by editing such as Mulder knocking on Scully's door and handing her a ticket because they've got to get on a plane to leave D.C. and fly to Washington state. Smash cut to Mulder and Scully in a 1994 Ford Taurus driving INTO DANGER (a forest). Because something bad and scary happened there (forest bad)!
Oh yeah, they also made this dumb movie at some point in between seasons. Duchovny and Anderson exude tiredness as they over and under emote their way through this oddly paced nothingburger of a movie that serves as a way to kill the one cool old english guy and doesn't make a whole lotta sense continuity wise. And then they've gotta get right back to work on the next season. It's fine.
