Listen, is it a perfect adaptation of the book… absolutely not… NO… is it ever a perfect adaptation of a book… not every movie can be lord of the rings. Did I enjoy every second of it.. OH GOD YES.. did I miss lines that are to me iconic in the book that we’re not in the movie… also YES… but I can still love every second of this movie and watch it over and over and over again…
"If you're an immigrate with a Z in your last name, there's not a lot of people in positions of power that look like you or sound like you. I've been given the chance to be someone in the world that my father didn't see when he was growing up."
❤ Perez ❤ Diaz ❤ López ❤
A movie directed from a López, interpreted by a Perez who played the character of a Diaz. ❤🤍💙
History huh? Bet we could make some.
The fact that Matthew directed a queer movie with a Mexican descendent protagonist is exactly the type of movie he didn't have growing up. I'm so happy he made it himself and gave us something that even ten years ago was unimaginable to see on the screen. I'm very proud of those Zs who change the world everyday.
@unbound-tales asked: [ 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐩 ] : receiver finds the sender trapped and unable to escape [from Henry, for Alex]
Fear lodged itself inside Alex’s throat when he finally found Henry. They’d separated them, after the emails had leaked they’d been forced apart and Alex hadn’t been allowed to see Henry. He hadn’t heard from him in weeks either and now … well, now here he was, locked in a gilded cage, as it were. The irony of it, because the bars were quite gold and the room was an unfamiliar one to Alex. He’d only managed to get here because of Shaan, who had been doing everything he could himself to get Henry out, to no avail.
“My mom has people coming,” Alex said, fingers curled around the bars. Let Henry’s people try to stop his mother, Alex thought. If they didn’t want an international scandal on their hands, they would let Ellen and Alex take Henry away to safety. “We’re going to get you out of there. I promise.”
Okay, so I'm rereading RWRB again, and I mean, it's probably because I'm PMSing, but I am CRYING over June and Bea. Like, the big sisters. The willingness to fall on the sword for your younger sibling no matter the consequences for yourself. The unquestioning, relentless love, even when they're a shit. Losing sleep from worry about them and picking your nails raw when they're troubled and you can't help them.
It was subtle, but CMQ wrote big sister love so well and I am feeling EMOTIONS about it.
In all the pre-conducted interviews I've read about Taylor and Nicholas doing the intimate scenes, they always tried to make the other laugh to keep them from getting too in their own heads about what they were doing and stay comfortable with each other.
With that in mind, I am almost 100% sure that this moment was them trying to make each other laugh:
Maybe Taylor was scripted to help him with the shirt, but I feel like the comment about the buttons wasn't there initially, cause Nicholas' grin looks like he genuinely thinks it's funny, rather than just the giddy laughs and smiles they do in other scenes when they're excited.
However, I wonder how much of that was them just getting the giggles and it working for their characters. They are adorable bastards lmfao

"Hey," Alex says. Henry turns back to him, his eyes silver in the wash of the streetlight. "We won.”
Henry takes his hand, one corner of his mouth tugging gently upward. "Yeah. We won."
"I’ll break the sound barrier for you"
"History, huh? Bet we could make some"
"I fell in love with a person, who happens to be a man and that man happens to be a prince. He has captured my heart and made my life immeasurably better"
"I love his Royal Highness Prince Henry George Edward James Hanover-Stuart Fox. I hope one day we'll have the opportunity to be public about our relationship on our own terms"
