what advice do you have for building a classy, dark energy, femme wardrobe on a budget?
I LOVE these expensive brands I see (YSL, Balenciaga, Jimmy Choo, etc.) but I'm trying to save money for more important things right now.
(plus I can't afford lots of super high end brands on a regular basis, as I'm sure most of us can't lol).
How can I "find dupes" for lack of a better term for these bougie brands I love, or what tips do you have for looking classy and highend on a budget (fashion wise anyway)?
Thanks xoxo
Hi love! I would say the main thing to do is pay attention to fabrics and stitching of garments.
Overall construction matters considerably more than the name on the tag when it comes to building a "high-end" wardrobe. Some fabrics to look for include: 100% cashmere, Pima/Supima cotton/organic cotton, merino wool, genuine leather, and/mulberry silk.
Pay attention to the stitching/buttons or accents on garments. Make sure there are no gaps or loose threads. Look for lined or double-lined items. Darker garments tend to look more expensive. Stick to neutral colors and classic silhouettes for a more "elevated" look.
Some more "affordable" brands (in the mostly $100-$300 range) I love include:
The Frankie Shop
Pixie Market
Massimo Dutti
Manière De Voir
Lilysilk
Reformation
Naadam
Sézane
GAP
Express (for bodysuits/trousers)
Banana Republic
Everlane (the Supima basic tops are great for the price)
Personally, my favorite way to save money on high-end clothes is to use sites like TheOutnet or YOOX and shop the sales sections of designer retailers like Farfetch, Luisa Via Roma, Saks, FWRD, etc. to get the same quality of clothing for less.
Hope this helps xx

Crocheting this skirt took me months fr. think about 40 hours in total. I don’t think I’m the fastest crocheter but I’m okay with that. Im trying to no longer feel the need to be quick when I do everything even though its pressured onto to me because of societes need for constant productivity. BUT ANYWAYSSS.
you can buy it here :) https://www.etsy.com/listing/1450984712/lace-crochet-maxi-skirt-in-natural-white
I lfooking love it mi. She’s super pretty. I used 100% pima cotton yarn in the colour natural white. I can’t remember the thickness of the yarn but I used a 2,5mm hook. Been tryna push this on my website I made imma post the process of me making that on here at some point I worked really hard on it. I fuck with the vision im tryna create with my crochet shit it gets me really excited. Im at Parsons right now and I feel like the more I get sucked into school the more I forget about what gets me really excites which is why it took me so long to make this skirt. I wanna start selling my shit and getting my name and brand out there in the creative world cause there’s.so much shit I wanna do like I got so many ideas fr. I wanna be a furniture designer eventually. For now. But yh. Any tips on how to start selling ya shit. I find pushing it on social media like instagram and tiktok really annoying cause I feel like the atmosphere is really competitive almost like a operate workspace but on a digital setting. Trine pasta algorithms n shit. I just wanna find real people who fuck with what I do and value things that I value you know. But yh I put it up on Etsy and thinking bout putting it up on depop. On the website I created a bidding system cause I thought that would be a really great way to establish the interest on a piece, considering id only be selling one of kind items and not creating anything more than once. I just really see it as a form of art you know and not some mini fast fashion business where I just make as many things as quickly as possible and try sell em all. But yurrrrrrrrr

First post on here but I wanted to share my finished Soho Top by Caidree
I started this in April and didn't finish it until the end of November 💀 But in my defense I was only knitting on it like once a week once I joined in the round.
I don't remember what size I knit tbh but I definitely could have sized down at least one size maybe two? My garment is 100% cotton so I might just wash it and throw it in the drier and hopefully it'll shrink to a good size? A little nervous about that idea because it's not terribly too big but I just need it to shrink width wise juuuuust a little bit.
The yarn I used is Juniper Moon Farm's Neve base in the color Valentine (color 23). It's 100% Pima Cotton. It's a very soft cotton yarn and it was nice to work with.
I knit it to pattern using the recommended needle size (i think 4 mm?). I did size up to a 5 mm for the bottom hem i-cord bind off because I was nervous about it not being elastic enough but I definitely didn't need to do that. I did a 4.5 mm needle instead for the i-cord edging on the arm and neck holes and I think that looks better.
I thought this was a size inclusive pattern but I just pulled up the PDF again to see what size I knit and it's not apparently 😔 that's confusing bc Caidree is normally pretty good about that???? oh well, i'll just double check next time.

Message me if you're interested in commissioning one, as I don't uncharge by size and I do my best to use 100% cotton, the cardigans are about $200 a piece. Moving forward, all cardigans will be made with Pima Cotton.
As always, please reblog for better results!
I'll be making all four variants, however they will be made in popularity order!

What tips do you have for someone trying to create a new wardrobe? I see so many cute outfits and different things I want to wear but my sensory issues lead to me just wearing t shirts and jeans all the time. What would you recommend?
Thanks, I love your blog xo
Hi love! Thanks so much for your support xx
Here are some of my high-level tips for curating a new wardrobe:
Discover your body shape, proportions, and styles that look most flattering on you
Create an inspiration board of your "dream outfits"
Do a closet edit: Divide your existing wardrobe into "go-to staples" "specific occasion (like a beach cover-up or a fun shimmering jacket for a night-out) /special occasion wear," "lounge/sleep/workout clothing" and "donate/toss items"
Find elevated swaps for your favorite casual or outdated pieces (e.g. relaxed-fit trousers instead of jeans or a silky button-down instead of a tee shirt)
Discover the fabrics you look in the silhouettes and colors you find most flattering (for sensory issues, I would recommend Pima cotton, modal, 100% organic cotton, Tencel, linen, bamboo, silk, and nylon fabrics).
Tanks like THIS with jeans like THIS or a button-up like THIS with shorts like THIS (or my go-to trouser option) provide an elevated twist to simple jeans or denim shorts & tee combinations.
Glad to create a short ebook/PDF on "How To Build Your Ideal Wardrobe" or some similar topic if there's interest. Also, I offer one-on-one wardrobe styling consultations if you're interested at any point in time: https://calendly.com/femmefatalevibe/dream-girl-aesthetic-personal-styling-session?back=1&month=2023-06.
Hope this helps xx
