Look. I understand why y'all are mad about AI. But I'm telling you, you've got to find a different way to get out your frustrations than resorting to mocking people for not being able to do something. There are better ways to make your point than pointing and laughing and declaring "People who can't do things for themselves are shitstains on society!" Because that? Smacks of ableism.

I get that y'all think you're doing this from a good place. But remember when Trump first got elected and everyone retaliated by making jokes about his weight? And all kinds of fat people came along being like "Maybe you're not making the joke about us, maybe you're making it for a good reason, but we still hear you. We still understand how you feel about us." Yeah. Disabled people hear how you joke about people who "can't do anything."

The message a lot of you are sending with your anti-AI messages right now really smacks of, "You're worthless if you don't provide to society, and people who can't do things for themselves deserve to be laughed at." I know you think it's funny when applied to tech bros, but here's a shocking fact for you: A lot of people actually do struggle with tasks as "simple" as making a grocery list! It doesn't mean that they're immediately relying on AI to do that for them, and it doesn't mean they're less of a person just because they can't do this thing that seems simple to you!

And if your response to this is an angry "Well, I'm disabled, so-" Then my response is that I'm sorry. I'm so sorry you have to live with that voice in your head every single day screaming at you that you're not doing enough. I've lived with that voice my whole life too, and it hurts so, so much every single day. But that voice isn't right. Just because it's screaming so loudly inside your own head doesn't mean you should give its voice even more weight by projecting it into the world.

People are worth more than what they can do.
