GtWAC Day 3 : Poor Summary of a Great Fic

Not one but TWO terrible summaries of the amazing fics from @pocket-ozwynn

If borrower's Game of Throne's was going on in the background of a an overly caffeinated twitch dream girl's stream while she panics over Geralt of Rivia's much smaller but equally handsome distant cousin.

With one of the most interesting premises I've read in years, Oz does an incredible job at taking this wild premise and making it a truly hooking read. Despite the comical premise, the fantasy juxtaposed with such a modern environment works so incredibly well- especially with Oz's impeccable writing style. His ability to switch from fantasy to modern to a combination of the two is so interesting and exciting to read.

Oz is extremely talented with tone and Offline Valor exemplifies his skills incredibly well. There is such an incredible vibe that permeates the story, where theres almost a sort of implicit tension that seems to build around these two worlds colliding.

The two leads, Zelly and Rowan, are vastly different, yet their chemistry is so so good.

The golden retriever equivalent of a military dog becomes the World's Biggest Herbo by making herself a human shield for the Government-secret Geek Squad employee. Sparks fly (literally).

From Genesis Day

Genesis day is such a fun ride despite the general tension the plot consistently maintains. While there is a sort of building unease that something is about to happen, Oz still manages to make moments between characters feel fun and easy going- Alice and Freyja especially!

Genesis day to me as a reader feels akin to a love letter of to all those hours spent as a kid fantasizing about fighting Big Bad Monsters in an attempt to both do good and be good.

As an Author, Oz has such a fun ability to take these wild and almost goofy sounding concepts and turn them into not only an enjoyable read, but a beautiful read. He has a skill with prose and his descriptions often times read artfully- elegant and poetic, with ethereal imagery and flowery language. This man could write about taking out the trash and turn it into something magical.

Zach Benson and Connor Bedard: isn’t it so sweet that kids that used to have sleepovers with each other are now in the NHL together? They were both on the Vancouver Viper AAA team together, got drafted to the WHL (2020) and got drafted to the NHL (2023) in the same year (Andrew Cristall is also apart of this but i don’t know enough about that man to comment)

Olen Zellweger and Connor Bedard: they played on team Canada WJC in 2022/3 and played on team Canada again in 2024. And Zelly has one of the best bodies connor has ever seen

Matt Rempe and Kevin Korchinski: teammates on the Seattle Thunderbirds, Kevin even got his first WHL point on a Rempe goal. Kevin’s comments of Rempe’s post are always entertaining, and Rempe commenting under Korch’s Insta, “little kev” has well and truely changed my brain chemistry. (Also there names are next to each other on the alumni wall this doesn’t mean anything but that doesn’t mean it’s any less entertaining to me)

Jack Quinn and Brandt Clarke: I actually have nothing for this one other than Jack Quinn was at Brandt Clarkes draft party (to anyone who knows more please do tell ☺️🤲)

Jeff Skinner and Elias Lindholm: this one isn’t far reaching as the other as they were both drafted my Carolina but the photos of them together are so fun and *that* one photo, masterful

How I Run My Blog

Speed: WHEN I’M NOT WATCHING MY TELENOVELAS OR K-DRAMA OR MY SOAPS, I can be…. still pretty dang slow I won’t lie I am not at all fast, I tend to think too much when it comes to replies omg, always writing and then deleting, rinse and repeat. Honestly, though, there’s no stopping me when I have the inspiration to write. So, in other words, my speed is very inconstant. SORRY TO MY PARTNERS!  

Replies: Para and just winging it. It’s worked for me since my four years of my rp career, I rarely plot things. Well, until now that is. When it comes to formatting I don’t really like using super pretty format like I used to because lazy and I just don’t care anymore I just wanna write the way that makes me feel happy. So I just small text and icon, it’s easy for me.

Starters: I will love any starter thrown at me at random. I love either novel type starters (even if it’ll take me a while to write back) or one-liners or hell even crack!

Inbox: H!!!!! YEAH, I TRY TO RESPOND! WHETHER OOC AND IC So long as I’m not super busy since twitter my second home I’ll get back to you ASAP. Also, can I just take the time to talk about how terrible tumblr dms are?

Selectivity: Highly selective. Aside from that, not much to say.

Wishlist: Gimme that cute fluff with zellie and literally any other character ever, I love platonic ships so much, gimme that nice slow burn romantic ship i’m looking for too
