This 2013 contemporary house looks like a spread out deck of cards, and is named Cascade. It's in Park City, Utah, has 4bds, 6.5ba, is $24.9M + $300mo. HOA. It's been on the market for almost a year, so no takers yet. We must investigate this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's nice, though. I hope those plants convey- they have the matching containers and everything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The best things in the living room are the colorful paintings and fireplace against the gray walls. Look at that block of stone on the table.
Tumblr media
Look at this odd feature. You can either go thru it or around it.
Tumblr media
I think that color is key in this house, maybe that's why it's not selling. All white is one thing, but black floors and gray stone walls gives off a depressing prison-like vibe.
Tumblr media
Here's a nice view of a waterfall.
Tumblr media
Very contemporary TV room. Love the fireplace, but it needs some color other than black and gray.
Tumblr media
In the dining room, I like the floating sideboard.
Tumblr media
This is all they show of the kitchen. It sure is big and spread out. There're walls between the counter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The primary bedroom is large, and they have a table and sideboard, plus a patio.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The baths are very large and curved with lots of walls. I can't even figure them out.
Tumblr media
Okay, so here's some curved wood to warm the place up a little.
Tumblr media
Closets in the hall are always a good thing.
Tumblr media
This looks like an entertaining area- a bar and the piano.
Tumblr media
Outside is a huge multi-level patio. The grand outdoor (heated) terraced patio is large enough to hold hundreds of guests in winter, spring, fall and summer. How is it heated, though? The floor?
Tumblr media
It has a patio that holds 100s of people, but I don't see a pool
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It looks like each room has its own patio and garden.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's a stream on the property.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A bridge with glass goes over the garages to a waterfall.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Property measures 5.61 acres.

LE MANOIR DE MOUGINS
Tumblr media
vimeo
On a hilltop site with panoramic views of the countryside, Mougins has become synonymous with luxury living on the Côte d’Azur. Long an artists’ enclave, Pablo Picasso was among the first to discover Mougins and lived here later in life. Now home to some of the world’s rich and famous, the medieval village has charming cobblestone streets and boasts fine art galleries and renowned restaurants. From this privileged location, Cannes is just a fifteen-minute drive. And all the famed cities and sights of the Côte d’Azur are at your feet.
Set in the heart of the historic medieval village, this 17th-century stone mas is exceptional in every way. With terraced grounds of over three acres, the estate is set on four levels and surrounded by a magnificent park with beautifully landscaped gardens and lawns. It features a three-hole golf course and putting green, a large heated swimming pool with Jacuzzi, two stone terraces with dining and lounging furniture, pool house with steam room, sun deck, boules court, badminton court and half basketball court. From this hilltop site, you’ll take full advantage of the stunning country views. And it’s just a short stroll to the galleries, shops, cafés and restaurants of Mougins. That is, if you can tear yourself away from your own private resort.
With over 6,000 square feet of living space, the historic home has been renovated, designed and furnished with no expense spared, combining historic charm with every comfort and convenience. Included in the renovation are 18th-century wood parquet floors, original 17th-century doors, wood-beamed ceilings, cast iron-framed bay windows, antique stone terraces and cast-iron decorative railings. The luxurious interior décor includes a combination of classic and contemporary furnishings, richly-textured fabrics, antique chests, tables and lamps as well as original works of art. And for your complete comfort and convenience, the house has air conditioning and Wi Fi internet access.
On the entry level off the reception hall are two living rooms, dining room, kitchen and office, all with French doors opening to an expansive stone terrace. On the terrace you’ll enjoy an arbored dining area with large stone table, chairs and barbecue, all with breathtaking country views.
At one end of the main level is the French country kitchen, designed and equipped for the best of cooks. It features a breakfast area with polished wood table, center island, a professional gas stove, ample granite counters, and an array of top-notch appliances and cookware. Antique wood pieces and painted cabinets add to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. An archway leads to the dining room with long wood farm table and chairs. An antique sideboard, framed mirror, occasional tables and lamps are handsome accents.
The dining room opens to a spacious living room with two sets of French doors opening to the terrace. Light and airy, it has plenty of seating including two long sofas and several easy chairs grouped around a coffee table. Stylish tables, chests, lamps and flat-screen television complete this appealing room, perfect for planning the day’s activities, relaxing with a book or socializing over an aperitif. Further on is a smaller salon with stone fireplace framed by beautiful built-in bookcases. Decorated in classic Provençal tones, it features yellow walls and drapes and ochre accents. A long leather sofa and wing back chair are grouped by a hand-crafted tapestry coffee table. The gracious décor also features occasional marble-topped tables, chairs, lamps and an office corner. Also on this level off the entry hall are toilet facilities.
There are a total of 5 bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom. They feature quality bedding and are beautifully decorated with antique tables, chests and floor to ceiling drapes. All bedrooms are equipped with television. The marble bathrooms include large walk-in showers with rain heads, designer vanities, fixtures and toilet facilities.
Stairs from the main living level lead to three of the bedroom suites. One is a large master suite with king bed, dressing area and bathroom. Two more suites on this level have queen beds. On the garden level accessed from the lower stone terrace are two additional bedroom suites, also with large walk-in showers, lovely vanities and toilet facilities. One has a queen bed and the other has twin beds convertible to king. Between the bedrooms is a kitchenette with small refrigerator, cooktop, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine along with dishes and flatware.
A true luxury home in one of the most coveted settings in the south of France. Likes: 5 Viewed:

Top 10 B&Bs
From Georgian elegance to a converted chapel and a former windmill in the reed beds, The Good Hotel Guide features a great choice of places for bed and breakfast. Here the editors pick ten of the best B&Bs
  Chapel House, Penzance, Cornwall
A Georgian house overlooking the harbour, with views to St Michael’s Mount has been given the boutique treatment by hostess Susan Stuart. The six bedrooms are chic and contemporary, with soft coastal hues, perhaps a hand-made four-poster. New arrivals are welcomed with tea and cake. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, guests can enjoy a communal supper of local produce. Breakfast includes sizzled cod roe with smoked bacon, home-baked breads and pastries. At Sunday brunch there are devilled kidneys, kedgeree, bubble-and-squeak.
B&B £125–£220. Set dinner £27.50. 01736 362024, chapelhousepz.co.uk
  Brownber Hall, Newbiggin-on-Lune, Cumbria
There are old-fashioned comforts at Peter Jaques-Walker’s Victorian country house with views to Howgill Fells – freshly baked cakes on the sideboard, a 1950s honesty bar – but this is a stylish operation. The eight bedrooms, some with wet room shower, are contemporary and unfussy, supplied with 100 Acre toiletries. Public rooms have bare floorboards, period furniture, modern artworks. Four nights a week there are stone-baked pizzas, while breakfast brings home-made granola, home-baked sourdough, Westmorland sausage, waffles and crispy bacon.
B&B £66–£200. À la carte £30. 01539 623 208, brownberhall.co.uk
  Shallowdale, Ampleforth, Yorkshire
There are glorious views to the Howardian hills from Anton van der Horst and Phillip Gill’s 1960s house in beautifully tended gardens. With just four bedrooms, the hosts can lavish time and care upon their guests, and clearly love to do so. There are home-baked scones at tea, books to read, freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast. Little extras include chocolates and luxury toiletries. At night, given notice, Phillip will cook dinner with imagination and real flair.
B&B single £115–£140, double £135–£170. Set dinner £48). No under-12s. 01439 788 325, shallowdalehouse.co.uk
  2 Blackburne Terrace, Liverpool
A town house on a cobbled drive in the city’s Georgian quarter has been given a very stylish make-over by owners Sarah and Glenn Whitter. The four bedrooms are supplied with hand-made chocolates, a nip of artisan gin. One has an in-room, free-standing bath, a blue velvet sleigh bed; a top-floor suite has an ottoman upholstered in orange velvet, a bathroom with a free-standing volcanic-limestone bath against a raw stone wall. Guests have use of the drawing room and walled garden. Breakfast brings rare-breed meats, kippers, vegetarian options.
B&B £160–£290. No under-10s. 0151 708 5474, 2blackburneterrace.com
  Old Whyly, East Hoathly, Sussex
Sarah Burgoyne’s Georgian red-brick manor house in glorious gardens with tennis court and outdoor pool, close to Glyndebourne, is essentially a beautiful private home, filled with antique furniture, paintings and possessions. New arrivals are welcome d with tea and home-baked cakes. The four bedrooms have romantic period style. At night Paris-trained Ms Burgoyne cooks dinner, served by candlelight in the dining room, or under a vine-covered pergola. Breakfast brings eggs laid by the hens and ducks that roam the grounds, with orchard fruits, honey from the hives.
QBandB Old Whyly
B&B £98–£150, D,B&B £136–£188. Set dinner £38. 01825 840216, oldwhyly.co.uk
  Cley Windmill, Cley-next-the-Sea, Norfolk
One of the most unusual B&Bs in Britain, Julian and Carolyn Goldee’s five-storey tower mill stands overlooking the River Glaven and reed beds, with views to the North Norfolk coast. There are eight characterful bedrooms in the mill tower and outbuildings. The Wheel Room and its shower room are accessed by ladders. The River Room has views on three sides and direct garden access. Book ahead for a set dinner in the beamed room at the tower base.
B&B doubles £159–£245. Set menu £32.501263 740 209, cleywindmill.co.uk
  Millgate House, Richmond, Yorkshire
Nothing is stinted at this Georgian town house on the market square. Tim Culkin and Austin Lynch, owners since 1980s, have filled every room with antiques and artworks, clocks and ornaments, while creating a green oasis in the walled garden. The six bedrooms have original features, perhaps a fireplace, a cabinet of china. In the morning the Spode and silverware are laid out for a breakfast of home-baked bread, organic yoghurt, fresh fruit, kippers or what you will.
B&B £125–£165. 01748  823 571, millgatehouse.com
  St Cuthbert’s House, Seahouses, Northumberland
Jill and Jeff Sutheran are the friendly hosts at this converted Presbyterian chapel B&B and occasional music venue. A pulpit gallery overlooks the sanctuary cum lounge, with harmonium and honesty bar. A ground-floor bedroom has a walk-in wet room. All have a coffee machine, black-out curtains, Gilchrist and Soames toiletries, robes, slippers, a salon-quality hair dryer. A breakfast of honey with Lindisfarne mead, award-winning sausages, kippers or kedgeree from the local smokehouse, fresh-baked bread and home-made marmalade sets guests up for a day exploring the Farne Islands.
B&B single £110–£130. 01665 720456, stcuthbertshouse.com
  Riverwood, Strathtay, Perth and Kinross
The River Tay runs through the woodland gardens of Ann and Alf Berry’s contemporary house in a conservation village a short drive from Pitlochry. Guests can fish for brown trout, enjoy a complimentary round of golf at Strathtay course. The interiors are very smart (no outdoor shoes, please). Bedrooms have an espresso machine, a mini-fridge, Arran Aromatics toiletries. Some have a private patio. A wonderful breakfast brings Dunkeld smoked salmon, potato rösti, griddled pancakes. Built in the 1940s as a hostel for agricultural workers, it has been made over by the owners with every comfort. Guests have use of the conservatory, music room and library. Four immaculate bedrooms are supplied with ground coffee, fresh milk and biscuits. A communal dinner is served with prior notice.

Distinctive Design - Antique Architectural Doors and Artifacts
Restoring old historical homes gives the design and architectural potential to add character with reclaimed architectural doors and salvaged woods. The quality and workmanship of traditional and authentic Haveli doors, handcrafted in teak wood in old world designs, elaborately carved headers and finials, these beautiful majestic doors from the past can be fully integrated into urban interiors. Exteriors get a face lift with older architectural features. Real dense woods, authentic antique materials and vintage home decor creates a new energy field needed to rejuvenate an old property adding character and transforming boring into extraordinary.
Using vintage Indian doors salvaged from old mansions and beautiful carved teak columns, arches in the architectural design brings the royal vintage aesthetic into an urban property. Beautiful Interiors That Combine An Old Warsaw Mood With Contemporary Style
These two beautiful interiors combine an old warsaw mood with crisp and contemporary styling. Retro silhouettes and traditional wood grain pieces furnish the homes, but it is a modern feel that overrules in each. The interiors seem to straddle the divide between classic comfy and contemporary chic. Each home design is fashioned against a light backdrop, but with a real focus on texture and material. Colour is used sparingly in both of these two homes, yet the spaces do not appear desaturated or plain. We also get to see the designers’ visual summaries at the end of each of these tours, which show key elements in how to achieve the look.
Designer: Katarina Rulinskaya   Two Formakami JH pendants hang low over a brown sofa in the living room of home design number one; the shades look sculptural in a silhouette that nods to both retro and modern aesthetics. A decorative wall mirror behind the sofa has an elliptical outline and a slightly tinted finish, which gives it a warmer appearance than shiny silver glass. A little table lamp on a low shelf adds to the cosy ambiance.
A small side table with a black glossy finish sits betwixt two white modern chairs. A stone coffee table stands firm at the centre of the room. See more unique coffee tables.
A modern fireplace flickers at the end of a long dining table. A comfy accent chair sits by the fireside, beneath a black arc lamp with a simple yet striking orb shade. More stylish floor lamps here.
The dining table has a beautiful combination of modern concrete and traditional rustic wood grain. The supporting column of the wooden volume appears to pierce the concrete slab. Four modern dining chairs line up along the sides, with a more classic looking wooden example in pride of place at the head of the table. The table is lit by a dining room pendant light that extends out from an adjacent wall.
The glass vase used here is the Échasse Vase by Menu. The designer table lamp in the background is the designer table lamp in the background is Menu JWDA table lamp.
Coral coloured Flowerpot VP1 pendants dangle above a modern chaise lounge by the window.
A concrete planter tops a wooden plant stand in the corner.
A modern wall sconce is mounted by an arched mirror. The mirror glass touches against the tile floor, which gives the optical illusion that the arch is in fact an architectural feature that leads through to another space.
The kitchen has a unique minimalist aesthetic. A single row of shallow cabinets float above ground, and overlap full height window. Kitchen shelves are recessed into the walls to hold crockery and tableware on display.
A retro bedstead rests in the master bedroom. A black swing arm wall lamp provides reading light over the pillows.
A cushioned accent chair sits in front of a modern bookcase design that features an on trend slatted panel door. A bright floor lamp completes the reading nook.
The double sink bathroom vanity unit follows the exact same wood slat panelling as the run of minimalist kitchen cabinets. Gold wall mounted faucets fill black vessel basins.
A pleasing pebble shape defines the vanity mirror, which floats against a subtle watercolour fish themed backdrop.
Privacy curtains draw across a toilet and bidet nook inside the bathroom.
The same style wood chair that made head of the table in the dining room has been utilised as a toiletries shelf here by the shower enclosure.

Designer: Magdalena Radałowicz Zadrzyńska   Visualizer: Katarina Rulinskaya   Home tour 2 has a cool and curvaceous appeal. A black Serge Mouille floor lamp lights a rounded cream settee. The matching footstool stands across the room.
A white marble coffee table gains an unusual look from a corrugated edge. A pair of wooden stools can be used as small side tables.
Retro style sneaks in behind the sofa in the form of a wooden sideboard. A black Atollo lamp dresses the surface. Cheaper replicas are available on Ebay.
A white marble fireplace surround matches with the marble coffee table.
An organic shaped dining table stands between the lounge and a separate kitchen.
The wood table is teamed with five modern black dining chairs. A white marbled vase decorates the tabletop. Stunning wood panels floor the room, giving the place a refined classic vibe.
An art sculpture dresses a marble topped buffet table.
White marble abounds inside a blue kitchen design too. Glass walls look out into the living room and let in borrowed light.
The windows in the other side of the kitchen look directly into the neighbouring bathroom.
Perforated doors with rose gold handles line a generous dressing room. An accessories cabinet and an upholstered green bench seat divide the space into two halves.
A tree mural climbs behind a luxurious bath and tinted glass shower enclosure.
Cabinets have been wall mounted to hold fresh towels and toiletries.
A unique double sink vanity unit stretches across the opposite wall, in a black and gold finish that matches the bath and bath faucets.
Ribbed double doors lead into the dressing room.
Elliptical bedroom pendant lights hang at each side of the master bed.
A stretched blue headboard runs against a wall stripe of the same colour. Grey linen look wallpaper covers the wall’s upper half.
The wood finish of a modern home office desk makes beautifully soft contrast with powder blue walls.
Blue ribbed doors lead through to a powder room.
The unique bathroom sink has the same corrugated edge as the coffee table in the lounge.
Design summary.

Whenever a home is up for sale, it’s inevitable a few neighbours will slip into the open for inspection for a sticky beak. This was the case for interior designer Therese Carrodus, but unlike most nosy neighbours, she and her husband ended up buying the property! ‘I just remember first stepping onto the front verandah and suddenly imagining Rosie having her first day of school photo, and later having her school formal photo taken at the front door,’ recalls Therese. ‘It just sort of felt straight away like it was a home I could see the kids growing up in.’
Drawing on her interior design background, Therese immediately saw the home’s potential, recognising its ‘daggy but easily transformable interiors.’ Her approach was to reconfigure the existing floorplan to be more functional, adding a new kitchen, laundry, built-in dining area, and custom glass doors in the living space.
While many period home renovations feature a contemporary open-plan area at the rear, Therese desired a more cohesive look, where the new and old parts of the home would flow seamlessly from room to room. ‘I wanted the overall aesthetic and atmosphere of the house to feel a little bit playful and eclectic, with some bold colour and texture, but at the same time, I didn’t want any of those elements to be overbearing or polarising in any way,’ she says. A bold palette of moody blues, plum and oxblood reds feature throughout the home, with more subtle hues of blush and grey to balance things out.
The renovation was completed in 2018, just 10 days before the arrival of baby Hughie!  As a busy Mum to Rosie (6), Barnaby (3) and Hughie (1), Therese isn’t precious about her home. ‘The kids are often running (and sometimes scooting!) up and down the hallway, as well as making cubby houses in the living area, and just generally making a mess somewhere in the house!’

A House With A Vertical Garden And An Indoor Shark Pool
Located in the exclusive Doheny Estates community in Los Angeles, standing on one of the most secluded streets, this home is a 12,800 square foot contemporary architectural triumph. The house is built around a zero edge pool and spa, making a layout that promotes an indoor-outdoor flow of life. The sophisticated floor plan includes 7 luxurious bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a spa retreat with resistance pool and plunge pool, dry sauna, and gym/massage room, a home movie theater, humidor room, entertainment area with tequila/vodka freezer, regulated wine room, and even an open-air shark aquarium! $22,900,000 will get you all of this and some of the best views over the bustling City of Angels.
This modern home exterior stands out even amongst the other fabulous homes in Doheny Estates, which are among the most sought-after properties in all of Los Angeles.
The Doheny Estates community is close to designer shopping, top dining establishments, and all the entertainment that Sunset Strip has to offer in West Hollywood, and in nearby Beverly Hills.
With all of the home’s own amenities, there is a sense of living in a retreat above the sprawling city below.
Glass walls retract to fully connect each of the indoor living spaces with the outdoor pool and sun patio at its core.
This indoor-outdoor home design also provides the perfect setting for get togethers and large parties too, allowing guests to spill out into the evening air.
Underwater lights colour the hot tub in contrasting pink, against the zero edge blue swimming pool.
Outdoor chaise lounge chairs line up to spectate.
Steps border the full length and breadth of the swimming pool.
An outdoor lounge area is arranged with a wall mounted TV.
Outdoor seating looks out through glass balustrades at the enviable view.
The skyscape drifts into the heart of the house over the swimming pool.
The colour of the outdoor swimming pool inspires an aqua accent palette inside of the home. An aqua ottoman stretches out beside the retractable glass doors, and matching scatter cushions brighten a crisp white modern sofa. Colourful works of art decorate the gallery white walls.
A couple of taupe poufs are grouped with the ottoman at the doors to provide extra options for guests.
Lightweight white voiles draw across the windows to filter out the LA sun. For the size of the room, furniture is quite minimal. A small side table serves the sofa, and a single wall shelf holds a modern vase.
In the dining room there is seating for ten. A modern dining room chandelier shines down on the long glass tabletop.
A wood effect sideboard stretches the length of the large table.
Just like the indoor lounge, the dining room opens up fully to the pool patio.
The dining room joins openly with the kitchen. There is another dining area in here, with seating for six. The unique kitchen pendant lights are the Vibia Cosmos cluster pendant.
The dining peninsula runs off of a large kitchen island. A ceiling soffit provides housing for a built-in cooker hood.
Two openings provide entry to the kitchen from the formal dining room–one enters the casual dining area by the windows, and the other has direct access to the food prep galley.
The shark pool is another indoor-outdoor space. A canopy shelters a zen relaxation zone, but at the sides the space is open air. Stepping stones meander across the waters calm surface, and a vertical garden grows a revitalising effect. Check out the video at the end to enjoy more of this space.
The home is sumptuous yet simplified.
A wood and glass staircase design climbs the levels of the house.
Wood clad ceiling areas add warmth to the cool white interior.
This entire luxury bedroom ceiling is a vision of natural wood grain; its warm tones inspire the colourway of the bed runner and two modern bedroom chairs.
White bedside table lamps look crisp against a dark grey headboard design.
A glass coffee table stands between the bedroom chairs, forming a conversational area in front of the contemporary fireplace.
The home is equipped with state-of-the-art smart house technology, including automated curtains and doors.
Designer finishes and imported materials are found throughout the home, along with relaxing aromatherapy, and a water purification system.
A game of pool is played under a linear suspension light, in a snug with a roaring fireplace.
A luxurious home theatre makes the most of movie night–or reliving some epic Game of Thrones action.
There is much attention paid to keeping drinks at optimum temperature inside this sociable home.
A glass wine storage room makes an extensive bottle collection part of the dining room decor.
Outdoor chairs meet on another terrace.
Glass siding keeps balconies open to the view.
Olive green, plum and yellow accents colour a plain white painted guest room with a 4 poster bed. See more 4 poster beds here.
The master bedroom has a huge walk in wardrobe, with garment rails and shelves set out around three sides, and a large orange ottoman at its centre for throwing down outfit ideas.
The home gym is equipped with a massage table, for working out tired muscles and strains.
Luxury tiles decorate the areas around a resistance pool and plunge pool.
The large master bathroom with bathtub is also home to huge walk-in shower and a generous double sink bathroom vanity. Mosaic tiles bring small detail and texture.

Modern Mediterranean Style Interior Design
Envision the sun in the sky and the glittering Mediterranean Sea lapping against a beach just down the road, as we take a long meander through five homes with modern Mediterranean style interior design. In true Med style, much of these homes are decorated with a cooling white backdrop and relaxed neutrals – but these chic spaces offer high-end styling that’s not found in a typical beachside villa. The rooms are uncluttered yet homey, with quality wooden furniture and natural accent pieces. Picking through this gallery of five inspirational home tours, we’ll see a mixture of new and old, like traditional wicker decor put with shiny modern lighting ideas, rustic stone feature walls and contemporary white concrete interiors.
Designer: Office4   Visualizer: Office4   Starting off with a summer house in Rhodes, Greece, we find a beautifully carved wooden coffee table in the centre of a white living room with yellow ochre accents. A macramé wall hanging echoes the natural coloured rectangular silhouette of the coffee table, and adds interest to a crisp white wall.
The modern L-shaped sofa has a built in side table at one end; it’s wooden top complements the other wood tone and natural elements in the room scheme.
The yellow ochre scatter cushions on the sofa are mixed with plain and patterned white pillows to give the room a more relaxed vibe.
A modern chandelier descends over the centre of the lounge area. LED strip lights are recessed into the ceiling and wall at one edge of the room, to distribute extra illumination along its whole length. The lighting strip also defines the walkway through the room, which leads from the entry door, past the lounge and into the kitchen diner.
Wood panelling wraps the lower half of a curvaceous concrete tv wall in the lounge.
A narrow tower of display shelves dress the blunt edge of the curvy tv wall.
Wood slats make a deep frame around a wooden doorway, giving it a unique and cosy effect.
Whitewashed rustic stone builds a kitchen diner feature wall. A tight cluster of smooth metallic dining pendant lights dangle in front of the rough stone wall. A touch of subtle colour is introduced via a pink accent dining chair at the round dining table.
Fruit bowls fill the wooden centrepiece of the white marble dining table.
A circular rattan rug fills the floor of the white L-shaped kitchen.
Moving into the master bedroom we find another rustic stone feature wall, this time with climbing plants forging a green border where it meets the ceiling. LED perimeter lights shine down over the emerald leaves. More soft illumination is cast upward from a wide headboard design, accentuating the white painted stonework. A modern wall sconce glows against the wooden headboard, above a built-in bedside shelf.
A dressing table is positioned opposite the foot of the bed.
The bedroom lighting scheme also includes recessed LEDs below the bed base, and a pair of beautiful bedroom pendant lights suspended at one side.
The bedroom vanity setup that faces the foot of the bed serves as a tv wall on its opposite side.
Duotone curtains hang from a recess in the dropped ceiling.
Back behind the makeup vanity, Hollywood lights border the vanity mirror, which features a jewellery bar at the bottom of its frame. The vanity chair used here is the Wishbone chair.
Designer: Office4   Visualizer: Office4   The second of our five Mediterranean home tours has inspiration for a much narrower living room layout. An L-shaped sofa faces into a modern tv unit, adorned simply with white decorative vases against a white backdrop. Keeping the colour scheme simple prevents the room from appearing cluttered and closed in.
A freeform rug design edges across the room, spreading blocks of neutral colour below a brown pouf, and a wall mounted sideboard against a stone wall.
Six modern dining chairs line up along an unusual marble and glass dining table. A trio of dining pendant lights visually anchor the eating area in the open plan.
Recessed strip lights glow at the centre of the living room ceiling.
Designer: Office4   Visualizer: Office4   Our third stop is a living room with a decidedly circular theme. Rattan baskets dot one of the white concrete walls, a large circular tray holds candles by the sofa, and round coffee tables stand on a round area rug.
The decorative woven baskets are scattered in descending sizes across the blank wall.
Gold pendant lights hang at the end of the modern L-shaped sofa, highlighting its extended concrete base that’s used as a side table for the candles. The media unit opposite the sofa has a matching concrete base–and the same style of black seat cushions make a comfy bench at one end of it, which serves as seating for the dining table.
The dining ‘table’ is a suspended countertop. A pair of dining pendant lights hang low above its surface. Behind, a cane ceiling feature brings rustic texture and colour to the white kitchen.
Visualizer: Amir Cherni   We go next to a highly textured and mood lit rustic abode. The studio layout holds the bed upon a raised level of the open plan space. Down in the lower lounge area, a modern sofa is arranged in an L-shape with its twin.
Uplighters exaggerate a deeply textured stone wall in the living room.
Tree trunk columns tower around the bed, bringing the interior closer to nature.
Two concrete steps lead up to a faux fur covered bed. Rattan bedroom pendant lights hover at each side.
By day the textured decor may not appear quite as rugged but this remains a unique place, with something interesting to admire in every direction. The stonework from the lounge wall ebbs away by the foot of the bed, replaced by white concrete. The plainer walls allow the beauty of the natural log columns to take the spotlight.
Rustic wall decor hangs above the pillows in place of a headboard; a rattan side table echoes the circular form. A raw timber side table matches the bedroom columns.
Mature cacti push a refreshing green accent colour through the room.
Visualizer: Anna Sergeeva   Our last tour takes leave from the rough and rustic Mediterranean style, in favour of a more crisp and contemporary Med vibe. A simple round coffee table stands at a modern sofa in the lounge. At one side of the couch, two unique accent chairs sit as smooth as pebbles on the beach.
Two wooden accent chairs furnish the other side of the lounge arrangement, along with a small side table.
A dual headed swing arm wall lamp provides focussed lighting over the sofa.
Dried pampas grass plumes from a decorative vase; it’s impact is doubled by a decorative mirror propped behind it.
An ultra modern chaise lounge keeps a low profile in front of glass doors, so as not to obstruct the view.
A second lounge area opens up on the opposite side of a modern fireplace. A Vertigo pendant hangs above a crescent sofa.
Figurines decorate a side table.
The dining table set is pushed into the corner where two sets of patio doors meet. With the doors open, this becomes an al fresco dining spot.
The dining room stands open to a kitchen with an island.
Another set of figurines dress the dining table.
Black bar stools contrast with the ice white kitchen island. A white marble kitchen backsplash introduces subtle pattern and movement.
The black kitchen bar stools are complemented by a black decorative vase on the countertop and a black faucet.
Wine glasses sit right at home on an outdoor side table, next to some lounge chairs by the pool.
Patio doors retract to adjoin the interior and exterior spaces.
An olive platform bed features a winged headboard design inside the master bedroom, to keep the sleep space feeling cosy. Two simple wall sconces provide reading light above it.
An indoor plant dresses a plain corner.
The glass vase set on the floating media cabinet are the Échasse vases by Menu.
An artists mannequin poses at the opposite end.
Inside the bathroom, beige and mocha tiles pattern the shower enclosure. A mocha vanity unit floats against a smooth white marble clad wall.
Neutral colours fill a second double bedroom.
A feathered light shade adds a whimsical touch to the room. See more bedroom pendant lights.
Slimline pendants drop at each side of the bed.
A full length mirror is suspended from a rail that spans the width of the room.
Decorative items are displayed inside a wooden tray on the sideboard.
Stunning views stretch out in front of a freestanding bathtub.
A double sink bathroom vanity floats above a pebble floor.
The bathroom door is camouflaged with the wall for a streamlined look.
