@thearrogantemu I’m offering a new English translation of Hugo’s writing, up to ~1000 words. Got a favorite passage you want to see a new take on, a poem, a letter, a chapter?

For background, I’m one of the people working on a Ninety-Three translation; we presented “The Limits of the Inexorable” at this year’s BarricadesCon. For an example of my work, see this translation of the beginning of the ‘loose cannon’ sequence from Ninety-Three.

Once the winning bidder sends me the text they want translated, I’ll send the translation back in about a week.

I’ve been reading @damnilovefaerghus ‘s amazing fic Shield of Faerghus, Stone of Hope and it inspired me to make this piece!! This is the most characters I’ve ever drawn but I’m pretty excited to finish it!

just finished orestes and victor hugo you're so sick and twisted for comparing enjolras and grantaire to them so frequently. in the context of that play, that choice was even worse !! like especially the bit where pylades without hesitation offered to die with him (and elektra) because he believed in him and their friendship so much. like okay mr. hugo i see what you're doing...

I want to draw the nuns in Montreuil-sur-Mer rolling their eyes at Sister Simplice cause she snitched on another nun for cutting corners at the hospital.

I want to draw the girls at the Petit Picpus convent running around and making their austere teachers smile with their pranks and naive beliefs.

I want to draw Fantine in her 40s meeting Marius and her finding it endearing how in love he is with Cosette, giving Valjean a goofy side eye cause she can how little he likes him.

I want to draw Eponine and Azelma in pretty 1830s dresses and Azelma with bright eyes while Jehan or Cosette or someone kind does her hair.

And I want to draw Eponine far from home, learning about a different city and discovering there’s more to life than misery.

I want to express in a visual style that the women in the book I care about are not born to be tragic.

Genuine thought experiment: if a bob's burgers spinoff was created (regardless of the status of the main show) what would u want it to be focused on? who would you want to be the main characters and story etc

#my first impulse is to say a show focused on ron and hugo being health inspectors and all the homoerotic tension that comes w/ them #but in my heart I know it would never be sucessful and would be cancelled immediately after season two drops with no announcement or fanfare #maybe a spinoff focused on the pestos?? i dont know if any of these would actually be GOOD or worth watching #spinoffs are usally pretty hit or miss and i dont see any currently existing characters working for their own show but hypothetically #bob's burgers #txt

i simply can not get behind any depiction of varian being completely unprepared and extremely overtly flustered towards romance. not that i think he'd be a big flirt at all. but like. look at how he acted with a small childhood crush. what do you think he'd act like with a full on romance. come on now
