↘ “May I come in?” He asks softly as your small apartment starts to smell of your sweet like honey blood. Ken tightens his fingers on the doorknob and then enters the room as soon as you let him. One drop of blood escapes from your index finger. You cut yourself with a piece of paper while writing an essay. You look uncertainly at the black-haired man, but you don’t see any negative lust in his eyes. On the contrary, Ken looks worried. “Everything’s all right, love?”

↘ You reply that it’s just a scratch and that you’re fine. Your boyfriend offers you a bandage though, and you smile at him, lightly pressing his body against yours.

↘ “Thank you.” You reply quietly, and he only wonders why. That he didn’t kill you? That he didn’t tear your body in half? That you’re still alive? “... Thank you for being there for me.” His eyes close and he snuggles tighter against your weak, human body.

↘ Touka is calm and the first thing she will think of is hydrogen peroxide and bandage. She’s not interested in your body, though of course your blood smells like a field of orchids and poppies. This fragrance evokes sentimental memories in her mind.

↘ She examines your wound with the greatest tenderness, and then, equally calmly and without haste, cleans it of any dirt and puts on a professional lint. Her gaze expresses many emotions, none of which are related to her ghoul nature.

↘ “Better now, Y/N?” Dark-haired girl asks calmly, while her hand squeezing yours. You nod your head a bit in response to her brief question and she smiles softly. “Would you like some coffee?” She asks another question, and you nod once more, thanking her for help.

↘ Tonight was full of tenderness and assurances that Touka would never hurt you.

↘ He behaves similarly to Tsukiyama, maybe even worse. The sight of your blood is like a lighter to spilled gasoline. She can’t control herself and runs away as far as possible so as not to hurt you. After all, you are her beloved lover, her little treasure. She can’t afford such a disgusting moment of frailty.

↘ You bandage yourself and expect her return, even though you know it may take several days.

↘ Rize is disgustingly weak when it comes to you; after all you are her greatest drug and probably if she only tasted a drop of your blood or was in the same room with you for a bit longer, she would definitely throw herself at you.

↘ The relationship with her is quite dangerous, but you feel happy with her. Maybe it’s stupid and life threatening, but you really can’t imagine your own life without this beautiful and graceful woman.

There is no way I will give up these human goods to eat human flesh.” You grimaced at the thought, which made the black-haired man laugh lightly one more time. “You should help me instead of laughing, dumb boy.”

↘ “Hmm... Nope, nah.” He waved at you and then went back to watching TV, calmly waiting for you to come over and lie down next to him.

↘ He cares a lot about you; you are the most important person in his life, so the sight of your tear-stained face and chafes on your knees from falling down the stairs is a hard sight for him.

↘ So he takes you into his arms and leads you to the bedroom, where he treats your wounds with the greatest precision with disinfectant spray and bruise ointment. He talks to you a lot during this moment, almost forgetting that he is a ghoul. For sure, a few years ago he would have jumped on you without much thought, just to end your suffering.

↘ Afterwards, he smiles slightly and offers to order you something good to eat to make you feel better. You’ll agree, although you’re asking for a moment of tenderness and a few kisses.

Majima and pocket circuit

I'm truly not over Kiryu super cautiously letting Majima get into the hobby that is so dear to him. There's something so weirdly tender about that. Forget bowling and host clubs, that's Kiryu's actual private life. Kiryu himself just started to reconnect with it after prison.

It was such a whiplash to realize that Majima actually is not about to ruin his last place of normalcy. Another whiplash will come later, when Kiryu will realise that Majima became part of his normalcy, too.

Everything concerning Kiryu's family is a matter of intrigues, drama, and all of it is public knowledge. But this? Kiryu's weird queer friends, company of people like Bacchus, heading a bunch of kids and modding pocket cars? This is, dare I say, intimate.

Nishiki never poked into that, just snorted a bit and let his bro have his little hobbies. He was always collecting stuff since kid days: rocks, keys, cards. Now it's tiny cars. Meh.

(They have separate interests and that's alright. They do spend quality time together too, apart from all the family things.)

(No Nishiki in Kiryu's life now, tho)

I mean, Nishiki let his bro have a private life like that without snooping there. After growing up in an orphanage, where privacy is nonexistent, that's quite important.

So, back in the days of 0 Kiryu probably low key tried to pull the date scenario on Fighter, but it didn't work out. Kiryu could not hit the combo, find the right dialogue options in time, couldn't make it all near and clear. He didn't even have a full grasp on how to go about it, or why he wanted to do it in the first place.

Tragically, Fighter didn't catch any of that as anything romantic. But making bentos for Kiryu was a killer move, ngl. Poor boy, pats for Kiryu.

And now Majima is having a similar problem with Kiryu himself.

He's secretly coming to the centre to train and race people. Well, not secretly, just on days Kiryu is busy. Majima is having his own adventures and substories and kid-drama there. Talks with Fighter are their own substory.

Weirdly enough, Majima bonds with Fighter a bit during test runs of the super snake car build and even gets some sort of advice about Kiryu. Fighter knows Kiryu for a long time and respects him, and the way he talks about Kiryu makes Majima both agree and raise eyebrows.

Majima mumbles something frustrated about not knowing how to approach Kiryu or not knowing what's in his head, and Fighter says something super inspiring, something he would've said to a little kid.

Something something, Kazuma-kun is kind and honest, and you don't need to be afraid to mess up, Goro-kun, he'll forgive you. And, yeah, he's super accepting too (here Fighter reminisces his own story about leaving pocket circuit for tofu business), and he's always willing to help. He's heart is so big, he's also a great friend of the kids, they adore him-

Majima: …you can stop now.

- Majima: Dang. There's really so much more to pocket circuit than I thought. Sure, I can beat Kiryu on track, but I doubt I'll ever be a part of this weird little space.

Meanwhile, a bunch of kids hanging on him: Goro-kuuuuun, come race us again! And, oh, show us that cool trick with a knife and a lighter!

coloring/rendering tutorial when 🙏🙏🙏

Omg okay…I’ll do my best to explain with an older piece of mine tehee

I always start off by making small thumbnails of a piece just to visualize how I want the composition to look as well as map out lights and darks, so after I finish the sketch I use this thumbnail as reference to make a layer of color beneath the sketch. I like using darker and less saturated colors and I also like referencing baroque paintings for color palettes. Been really interested in the later works of Francisco Goya lately but I digress..this is what the piece looks like after blocking in colors.

For this piece, the colors around the focal point (Nishiki’s face) are brighter and more vibrant while the objects far away are dark and less saturated. It’s rly easy after this part because all that’s left to do is to finish lineart and paint over the sketch ^_^ I ALWAYS color the background first, then when that’s done I make a new layer on top and color the subjects/objects in the foreground. This part is super hard to explain but I build it up by deepening preexisting colors, adding more colorful tones inside of the shadow shapes, and introducing transitionary colors between the light and dark parts. It’s impossible to explain how to render form and shadow because understanding the basics of value/shadow takes a LOT of personal observation and study so I won’t even try here LMFAO. But anyway here’s the piece after the background portion is finished…

And this is what it looks like after ive colored over the sketch completely. I added a lot more definition to the clothes and hair. It’s also important to remember that colors in the background will reflect on the subject (note the blue present in Nishiki’s legs and the dark green present in y0 Nishiki’s arm). Keeping this in mind makes drawings look more real and rich. Only use straight black to shade if the rest of your piece is dark enough to warrant it.

I also use these Procreate brushes which can be found under the Painting and Inking categories respectively

I’m an oil and acrylic painter as well so it’s taboo to me to use blending brushes unless absolutely necessary ^_^ using textured brushes to paint will always yield a better product imo. Anyways after this I create a new layer on top of ALL the others for ‘detail’. I like to go in and further define lights and shadows, add more texture to clothes, draw stray hairs, outline lighter sections, etc. I try not to let myself get too attached to my lineart layer and this detail work tends to cover some of it up. I did a lot of scribbling on this piece in particular and this is how it turned out

Spinning my autistic Nishiki headcanon in my brain still....trying to think of stims n other stuff for him.

I think he likes spinning his keys and clicking his lighter open and closed, basically likes fiddling with stuff, including his necklace. I think he gestures with his hands a lot too, idk he just stims with his hands a lot. He likes shiny things. OH, I also think he likes video games, and one small part of it is he likes the clicking noises the buttons make. He also like, actually likes games (real sore loser though, but it's one thing he's better than Kiryu at lmao)

Fuck it, following on from that last bit here's some unrelated headcanons too: he likes strawberry milk. Idk man I think he enjoys it. Probably secretive about it though. Ooh, def likes strawberry shortcake too. Boy just likes strawberry. Would be tempted by cute strawberry shaped phone charms and keychains but that shit ain't "manly" so he just looks at it forlornly for second and quickly moves on

One time I read a fic that said his hair/shampoo smelled like sandalwood and vanilla and I haven't stopped thinking about that because idk what the hell sandalwood is but I DO love vanilla. For some reason I think he'd also like green apple?? I have no idea why??? Just smells nice yknow.

Better singer than he is a dancer (I mean I feel like this is canon have you SEEN him in the disco minigame he plays like I do), which is probably both due to and why he fuckin belts along to his favourite songs when he's driving, but I think he also hums to himself when he's doing other stuff. Doesn't even notice it sometimes, it just happens.

Fucking HATES being in Kiryu's apartment in 0 and is there as little as physically possible because Kiryu's apparent inability to throw away his trash drives him INSANE like 'damn bitch you live like this???'. He's a bit of a neat freak so the absolute STATE of that place leaves him like I Need To Get Out Of This Place (he just likes things clean and tidy, is that so wrong?) Sometimes he'll just go FUCK IT, grab a bin bag and gloves and start filling it unprompted if it irritates him enough (Kiryu stands there like ".o. thanks bro" "shut up kiryu" "okay")

So, had my timeout in the Octopath Traveler 2 demo this morning, and got to say, I’m having a great time. It’s going to be a long 2 weeks for sure.

Decided to start with Osvald for... hopefully obvious reasons, and then work my way around the "2" on the map in terms of starting locations.

Thoughts:

Starting with Osvald was an excellent choice. His story so far is as dark as I was expecting, and I was wondering how they were going to keep a scholar in prison for so long. He's also just a useful character to have around in terms of elemental breaking and spotting weaknesses. No regrets.

On that note, I'm not sure how to feel about the scholar job changes where it loses the multi-hit magic attacks. Didn't manage to unlock the new skills, but I do hope that missing the double-hit attacks isn't too costly as the game picks up in terms of shield points.

After spending just under 2 hours on Osvald's path, made my way over to Temenos. Decided to skip on any detours, but the locations are absoutely gorgeous in terms of music and design. It's just a really good looking game.

I do love the new character introductions before starting their quests. It's interesting that unlike OT1, you don't join halfway through their chapter 1 to help them out on their quest - rather you join them after chapter 1 (or so it worked for Temenos). It makes sense in terms of balance, so that all of the story quests have their own NPC companions and wil be level balanced.

Temenos. Oh boy, Temenos. I love him so much. He's such an interesting take on a cleric, and I love the detective aspect of his story line. Plus, that opening scene was completely unexpected and amazing. Can't wait to see where his story goes from this point onwards.

Managed to make it to Throné's city and get her quest started. Loved the opening, was a great way to set up how things work in her organisation. And then got locked out before getting to the exciting part. That said, there is a part there that's a bit reminiscent of Primrose's quest, and I hope it doesn't use too many of the same tropes - but I didn't get much further than the stealing tutorial before getting kicked out.

All of these stories have started comparatively darker compared to their job counterparts in OT1. I'm curious as to which characters may have lighter stories, as a contrast. That's not to say that OT1 was a light-hearted game - but all of the three opening chapters I've run into so far have had very dark aspects to them which I am greatly enjoying.

I know I touched upon the music earlier, but the tracks so far are extremely good. Yasunori Nishiki has done it again. That first Decisive Battle theme that I ran into was fantastic, not to mention the character themes and the location themes. I can't wait to buy the OST when it's released in March.

As tempted as I am to go and try out some of the other stories, honestly I just want to wait for the release. I'm happy with my starting choices, and since I'll be playing all the opening chapters anyway on this save file, might as well wait.

It's going to be a long two weeks for sure.

i think youve probably seen a bit of that here and there on my blog already but um if were talking about my favorite hcs when it comes to zanark... i read a pixiv comic once where it turned out as a result of his upbringing and the kind of childhood he had as an outcast who was always alone + then going to prison zanark never learned how to read and write and its something i like a lot 🥺 i try to casually incorporate that into everything i do w him... (i think the same thing probably goes for a lot of second stage children who had to fend for themselves since they were very young...!! who would have taught them..? though they might have learned while in feida later from other kids!! obviously that wouldnt apply to zanark though!!)

erm i always wonder what kind of relationship he has with zanark domain and i just dont think it would make sense for him to see them as friends or even just sort of part of His Gang cuz hes a loner so ive been assuming theyre actually fellow mugen prisoners who were offered a lighter sentence or other such things for helping him out against raimon after omega 3.0 got sent to loser baby jail so far. most of them really respect his strength so there arent any issues abt his attitude mostly but like yeah i just cant see him respect them enough to be his friends or even associates lawl theyre like his fans to me. lord zanark fanclub pal pack and all that

also i think he doesnt care to learn most peoples names because its funny to me and hes just that self centered. he knows raimon as a unit and nishiki personally by name but like thats it. not his full name though which really annoys nishiki because hes got this whole thing about having the same name as sakamoto ryouma and that was when he saved his life and stuff he should KNOW this.

OH WAIT i do actually have actual hcs about him and shit. i just checked my notes. i like to think hes not completely bullshitting everyone when he calls himself a nameless nobody from nowhere (this rolls off the tongue way better than what he literally says in jp you have to admit) so imo he did actually grow up on the streets (see first paragraph) after being abandoned (and specifically abandoned i dont think hes an orphan i think his parents left him behind like fei cuz he was freaky lol) and he really did not have a name until he got caught by el dorado and they had to put a name on his file and zanark avalonic was just what he thought of in the moment. but it slaps so hes allowed to do his bit about being nameless with a name. if i thought of something that good i would also add it to my catchphrase even if it makes it not make sense anymore.

and i also thought about his crimes before and personally what i think is. its mostly stuff like stealing and property damage, maybe specifically the theft of a timecraft and unlicensed time travelling + modifications to the time route as separate heavier offenses, and i wont rule out some fisticuffs and injuries to other people but its definitely not something Huge like killing people. i think he mostly is considered That dangerous a criminal bc of his attitude and of course his being a second stage child and not because he did some Massive Awful crime or something. but thats also kind of related to what i think about el dorado and second stage children which isnt necessarily what canon suggests near the end... but well thats a whole other subject. all this to say that i DID ponder his crimes for a while.

I am OBSESSED with Yakuza rn and am going to make it everyone’s problem

My friends are sick of me talking about this so I’m gonna rant into the void. Beware this is gonna contain vague spoilers for yakuza zero and yakuza kiwami 1 because those are the only ones I’ve played.

I think it’s super fucking cool how much thought goes into Nishiki’s outfits not only does he serve but his clothes are also integral to his character. This is just my thoughts I have no basis for it whatsoever BUT N E WAYS. 

His suit in zero is mostly just used to set a baseline and the constant comments he makes about appearances sets him up as someone who isn’t necessarily vain but uses his appearance as a tool and cares about it a great deal. This is juxtaposed by Kiryu being a styleless himbo who just brute forces his way through every situation. 

The abrupt change from Nishiki’s #boob69 suit to the black and white one he wears at the end of zero and the beginning/flashbacks of kiwami also marks an abrupt change in his character. At the end of zero Kiryu makes a comment about how he essentially is wearing grey because he himself is morally grey which Nishiki bitches about because its an ugly ass suit and it’s all played off as a joke but i think you can read deeper into it and see it as Nishiki not understanding complex moralities. He’s a dramatic bitch who doesn’t do things by halves he has a very polarised world view and can’t handle conflicting ideas. 

The proportion of colour is also very important. He is mostly wearing black with only a white jacket. This could be taken to mean he isn’t hiding his true intentions, unlike later on, and also that he is starting to be consumed by his jealousy and inferiority complex. His hair being down and buttons being open still show that he isn’t beyond hope and he is still an open person.

I legit lost my shit when i first saw the suit he wears for the majority of kiwami because its such an abrupt change and it’s also so clear what they’re going for so let’s break it down:

1. He’s dressed mostly in white with a black shirt. He’s trying to present himself as pure and having the Tojo clan’s best interests at heart but in reality he is driven by his own selfish hidden desires.

and 2. He’s wearing a tie, his hair is slicked back and hes wearing a DOUBLE BREASTED JACKET. Idk how much more obvious they can make it that he’s closed into himself. Putting up a barrier between him and other’s, he’s scared to trust anymore.

I think that’s all i have on clothes but there’s another cool detail i’d like to point out. In zero (and i think at the beginning of kiwami too) Kiryu and Nishiki always smoke together. It’s a big point in zero that Kiryu has Nishiki’s lighter and always lights his cigarettes for him but in the final battle against Nishiki in Kiwami Nishiki sits down and pulls out a cigarette for him, not even offering Kiryu one, and lights it himself. It just made me so sad, zero got me so attached to him :(.

in an adonis mood tonight... i don’t have time to even doodle anything but here’s some lore

soda’s older brother by 6 years, he’s 27! his birthday is may 1st. he ids as pan, and inklings don’t have agab but he’s always presented as male. this resulted in a significantly different upbringing than soda which had quite a domino effect.

he was born ionian, same as his father, but moved to amerika still as a hatchling (para-larvae?). he has a lighter southern accent but has worked really hard to eradicate it, and now you can only hear it in thin vowels and heavier r’s.

oh yeah his voiceclaim is yuri lowenthal. the only character i have an actual va for lol (specifically along the lines of his performance as amane nishiki i think)

his ma named him grace and he doesn’t really mind if you call him that, but he will be surprised because almost no one in inkopolis knew him by that name. he picked up ‘adonis’ as a stage name when he started to get big and only some og teammates know otherwise.

he went to inkopolis to make it big and had a. Rough start. he did make it, through battling and thanks to a combination cheating and learning fast, but he scraped his way up to the top in a big way.

no one knows his real past: everyone got told a different story and some were told snippets of the truth, often in his tearjerker versions, but there was no way to tell them apart from all the lies.

he was collected and smug on-camera and spent a lot of time partying off, he was a lonely, fearmongered kid who wanted attention and freedom. honestly, like, he’s just emperor but unhinged. now that i think of it, since coroika is an in-universe manga in my takes, it’s probably that emperor was based off/a kid-friendly version of adonis and i love that. my city now.

his co-captain was an unrepentant frat boy jerk who i had planned to name percy because originally his teammates were all named in the fashion of myth, andromeda and triton specifically, but that will probably change because i ended up reusing andromeda and started reading oyh i can’t do that to percy. adonis played custom range blaster—back when it was meta—percy played a vicious splattershot jr, andromeda was too competent for all these men and played octobrush, and triton was a silent stoic type e-liter 3k.

this inevitably bit him in the back end when adonis’ player tendencies backfired on him and he (gasp) fell in love, with a lady known only as the empress, a vampire squid who ran either an illegal battling ring or was part of the mob or something, i never really settled on it.

writing this is just reminding me of how well glass animals’ the other side of paradise suits soda and adonis and i’m smad all over again

ANYWAY, empress called his bluff and told him off and scarred him up and had his reputation ruined, so, well, F

he’s got these almost triangle-shaped scars all over his upper body, in curved lines around his torso and arms, from her; i still have not drawn these and i REALLY want to

also did you know adonis is just soda backwards + an NI? this drives me insane.

he boo-hoo’d about this for awhile but splattershot jr man went on to rebuild the team and is still screwing around to this day. Kids These Days have no idea who he is and he still doesn’t like to think about it. he got a job with toni kensa based on his branding sense and for his signature white trench coat (he predates emperor by a whole year i PROMISE), but he hasn’t touched turf since and Does Not Plan To.

he also knows octolings are Real TM but doesn’t. like. care. his parents hated him too, he knows they’re full of it.

still loves society, a gossip. still likes to sleep around. doesn’t do it as much cause people tend to ask about the scars. still kind of a prick and he’s got a temper on him but he’s mellowed out a lot, he’s very classically charming and his looks don’t hurt. still rash, not so ambitious anymore. he gets to live in a city and mostly unhaunted by his past, he calls that a win.

and lastly, adonis lives in a small but luxurious apartment a little ways into the suburbs, and he will die mad that his ratty little sister somehow procured herself a penthouse, even knowing he himself had one at one point.

Kiryu sighed heavily, bringing his lighter up to the cigarette perched between his lips. It wasn’t a good habit, but he’d been smoking less and less since his younger days. Prison staved him off the nasty things, for the most part, but with the undue stress of getting into a fussy street fight, he wanted that heavy feeling back in his lungs. Once lit, he took a light drag, pinching the cigarette between his fingers, blowing the smoke out after a few moments. He felt a little better already. There was something warm and wet on his face, but he didn’t bother to feel what it was.

Kiryu had an awful case of what people would call resting bitch face. This resulted in him getting into more fights than needed. Those brawls may also be the result of his attire, which make him look like a Yakuza, even if he was in and out of the clan like exes hooking up for one night stands. Basically, everything about him added up to him looking menacing. As he once said to Haruka, a scary face was better than a smile at my work. That idea of looking “scary” stuck, perhaps at a young age, after being around Kazama for so long. Come to think of it, Nishiki was never a very frightening looking Yakuza, was he? He looked more cute than anything, like a puppy dog--

Thump.

“Hmm?” Kiryu was utterly lost in his thoughts. Usually he was street-conscious, avoiding most civilians on the busy roads of Kamurocho (more in the reverse with them avoiding him) but it appears this time he had completely beamed someone. He stopped in his tracks, looking around for the poor soul he had plowed into. Nobody left, nobody right... nobody was really taller than him, were they? The only place left to look was...

...Down.

“Oops.” Standing about a foot below him was a blond-haired, golden-eyed boy, who looked about darn furious about being bumped into. Kiryu’s just a big guy in general, both width- and height-wise. Though it was his fault for letting his mind wander to the point of crashing into some unsuspecting civilian. He didn’t look to be hurt, but did seem annoyed at this accident. “Sorry. I didn’t see you there.”

disclaimer I've only gotten the chance to play 0, kiwami 1, and k2 so far so I haven't gotten familiar with MOST of the characters in the series but well. I could write forever about kiryu, majima, nishiki, and haruka I really could ... I love to goof on the guys a lot but I do it out of love. they all have so much to them and despite how obviously exaggerated and cartoony they are in their behaviors sometimes, they also feel like they could be real at the same time you know!! and that makes me feel more attached to them. and these games are just like ... so good at making you Care and be really affected by the emotional scenes while also being full of so many funny lighter moments so that it's not Soul Crushing like some games are and it's just 😭 Love it. I know that's not what you asked but I started rambling sorryy

Project Sakura Wars details story, setting, characters, and mechs

Sega has released new information and screenshots of Project Sakura Wars introducing the game’s story, setting, characters, and mechs.

■ What is Project Sakura Wars?

Project Sakura Wars is a dramatic 3D adventure game set in the Imperial capital Tokyo in a fictional “Taisho Era” that tells the story of the Imperial Combat Revue and their battle against evil.

The main characters are designed by Tite Kubo, who is well-known as the author the Weekly Shonen Jump manga Bleach. Kouhei Tanaka, who has worked on a number of songs for the series in the past, will return as composer. The story structure will be handled by Jiro Ishii, who has worked in games, anime, movies, and beyond.

Sega is putting their all into the latest Sakura Wars, so please look forward to it.

■ Story

Taisho Year 19. In the Imperial capital Tokyo, a battle called the “Great Kouma War” had begun. The Combat Revues of Tokyo, Paris, and New York boldly confronted the threat and saved the world.

But the heroic Combat Revues were annihilated as a result—.

After that, the Combat Revues’ city defense initiatives were recognized worldwide for their achievements in the Great Kouma War. And the “World Combat Revue Federation (WLOF)” was established. Combat Revues formed in cities throughout the world. And the World Combat Revue Federation organized a “Combat Revue Competition” where the Combat Revues of each country compete in opera and battle, enhancing each other’s strength. Onlookers the world over went crazy for the battle between young ladies that comes only once every two years known as the “Great Combat Revue World War.”

Ten years have passed since then, and it is now Taisho Year 29.

The Imperial Combat Revue has been resurrected in the Imperial capital Tokyo, where the Combat Revue had long come to an end. The “New Combat Revue” will fight in the Great Combat Revue World War with their sights set on victory.

Twelve years have passed since the events of Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love. The streets of Ginza have become more modern with a greater mix of western and Japanese culture, and the city itself has evolved into an advanced steam-based civilization.

Adventure parts play out on a 3D map from start to finish. Both the interior of the Great Imperial Theater and streets of Ginza are expressed in CG that only PlayStation 4 could produce.

The time limited choices system known as “LIPS” and “Trust Levels” that have appeared in previous Sakura Wars games will also return in Project Sakura Wars.

■ Characters

Seijuurou Kamiyama (voiced by Yohei Azakami)

The protagonist of Project Sakura Wars. The leader of the “Imperial Combat Revue: Floral Division.” 20 years-old. He originally served as a special service ship captain in the navy, but was reassigned to the Imperial Combat Revue, where he was appointed the commanding officer of the newly reborn “Imperial Combat Revue: Floral Division.”

Sakura Amamiya (voiced by Ayane Sakura)

A member of the “Imperial Combat Revue: Floral Division.” 17 years-old. She admires Sakura Shinguuji, the top star of the former Floral Division, and enlists in the Floral Division as a novice member. She has strong feelings for the Imperial Combat Revue: Floral Division that protects Tokyo, as well as the Imperial Opera Troupe that boosts the citizens’ spirits, and greatly desires the reconstruction of both sides.

Hatsuho Shinonome (voiced by Maaya Uchida)

A member of the “Imperial Combat Revue: Floral Division.” 17 years-old. A shrine maiden of the Shinonome Shrine, passed down from generation to generation in the Imperial Capital. Born in the old town, she is a pure woman of Edo who loves the old town, festivals, and the town’s people. While she usually comes off as rude, she is a mediator who proves reliable to everyone in the Floral Division.

Azami Mochizuki (voiced by Hibiku Yamamura)

A member of the “Imperial Combat Revue: Floral Division.” 13 years-old. The descendant of a ninja family that practices in the Mochizuki Style, she is a young prodigy that has mastered martial arts, strategy, weaponry, and the like. Since before she could even perceive the world, she had a strict upbringing, and strongly believes in the “108 Laws” passed down from the ancient ninja village. Protecting those laws are of great importance to her.

Anastasia Palma (voiced by Ayaka Fukuhara)

A member of the “Imperial Combat Revue: Floral Division.” 19 years-old. A star who played an active role in European theater. She wandered from troupe to troupe before joining the Imperial Combat Revue. Her singing and acting abilities are top class, and given her looks, she can easily handle a wide range of roles, from male roles to sexy female roles.

Claris (voiced by Saori Hayami)

A member of the “Imperial Combat Revue: Floral Division.” 16 years-old. She is from Luxembourg. She is a sweet literary girl who loves reading books. Through books, she is learning various things each day and is filled to the brim with curiosity. Her full name is Clarissa Snowflake. She is the successor of “Juumadou” black magic, which utilizes books and is passed down from generation to generation in the noble Snowflake family of Luxembourg.

■ Spiricle Fighters

Spiricle Armor are humanoid spiricle weaponry that can only be operated by steam, which has strong spiritual power, that were developed for anti-magic battle. Spiricle Fighters are based on the traditional Spiricle Armor, but use a new framework of spiricle weaponry drawn up by the World Combat Revue Federation (WLOF). Unlike Spiricle Armor, Spiricle Fighters have a higher output of spiricle systems. Since they have much higher spiricle conversion efficiency and require less spiritual power from the pilot, Spiricle Fighters have been developed as the standard format to utilize in every country following the Great Kouma War.

Spiricle Fighter: Mugen

Kanzaki Heavy Industries’ first mass-produced Spiricle Fighter. A mech designed as an official Spiricle Fighter based on the development of the Spiricle Armor Sanshiki Koubu. It is even equipped with a Spiricle Supercharger. It is an easy to operate mech with little negative traits in performance, as well as the main weapon of the Imperial Combat Revue: Floral Division.

A mech developed by Kanzaki Heavy Industries with an eye toward shifting the framework from Spiricle Armor to Spiricle Fighter. However, its infrastructure is not notably different from the Koubu Nishiki, and it does not have a Spiricle Supercharger, so its overall output and spiritual efficiency is not very good. While its general fighting power is lacking compared to a Spiricle Fighter, it became the basis for the Spiricle Fighter Mugen that came after it.

Life in Pisa

After arriving in Pisa almost two weeks ago now, I have startled to settle in to my new life and home. My appetite issues have long passed and I am enjoying all of the wonderful food Italy has to offer! Each day during the week, I usually spend about 4-5 hours with the youngest child, Ezra, with the rest of the day to myself to do as I please. A typical day for me goes like this: Wake up around 8 (for all of you who know me well, this is early haha) and hang with Ezra from 8-9 before dropping him off at kindergarten. His siblings and parents are already up and ready to leave when I wake up, so it’s up to me to watch Ezra and see him off to school. Luckily his school is a two minute walk from home, just around the corner. Once I drop him off, I have a few more hours to myself before he is ready to be picked up. Thus begins my first meal! Colazione, or breakfast, in Italy is usually light and sweet, and easy to get at any number of the abundant “bars” around town. Unlike American bars, which are known of course for serving alcohol, Italian bars serve pastries, coffee, and pre-made sandwiches for lunch. Most Italians will only spend a few minutes at the bar in the morning, eating a quick pastry, and drinking a small but strong espresso drink. I like to grab a table outside to eat and read for a bit. Coffee in Italy is a cherished tradition, and I love it! In the morning I drink a cappuccino, and often have an additional cafe, or espresso shot if I need an extra pick me up. The bitter coffee pairs excellently with the sweet pastries. My favorite breakfast pastry is a cornetti, or croissant, filled with a cream, or a chocolate sauce, depending on my mood. One can also get something similar to a doughnut, a non-filled coronetti, muffin, or small cookies. My favourite bar is DolcePisa, Sweet Pisa. They have the best selection of pastries, and also make cakes and other baked goods.

After breakfast, and before picking up Ezra is my creative time. I haven’t settled into a writing routine yet, as his school schedule is not consistent. In Italy, they ease kids into a full schedule for kindergarten, with the first week ending at noon, second week at 1:00, and third week on at 4:00. As of next week his schedule will be consistent, and so mine will as well. My goal is to dedicate a few hours each day to writing my screenplay, recording music, drawing, etc. Something creative!

Lunch is often eaten at home, but I have a few favourite spots around town if I want to eat out. The best sandwich shop is called Il Crudo, the raw. Here you can get traditional Italian salami, prosciutto, and other types of cured ham, but they also have turkey, which is a nice option if I want to eat something that tastes more like home.

For dinner, my favourite places include a brick oven pizza place called Bella Napoli, a great Japanese/sushi place, Nishiki Koi, and a small, more traditional Italian eatery, Il Peperoncino, owned and operated by the nicest guy named Donato. Here you can eat pastas and pizzas, as well as meat and fish dishes. I don’t eat as much meat in Italy as I did back home, but I had a hankering for red meat the other day which led me to Peperoncino for the first time. I had an incredible fillet with sautéed mushrooms.

And for desert, or anytime of the day really, I’ll go to Cotelli for Gelato or sorbet. It has been very hot and humid here since my arrival, so I usually opt for a sorbet as it is lighter and more refreshing. They have an incredible peach sorbet, which I like to eat with their fresh whipped cream. Another option is granita, which is kind of like shaved Ice, or a slushy, served in a long cup. These are often fruit flavored, but also chocolate or coffee too. The flavors of all three options constantly rotate, so there is always something new to try!

My work consists mainly of watching and entertaining Ezra. As is the case with any typical four year old, he has tons of energy and never wants to stop playing. We get along great and working with him is lots of fun! We’ll build train tracks and legos, color, or go outside. There's a great park nearby that Ezra loves, so when the weather is nice, we’ll bike to the park and play there. Luckily as of today the weather has settled into the mid 70s and it is so much nicer out! The biggest challenge of working with Ezra is that we don't always communicate perfectly. He has had English speaking Au Pairs in the past and understands most of what I say. But he rambles on in Italian, which is adorable haha, but difficult too when he needs something that I don't understand. The only time I get frustrated is when he isn't quite listening, or wants to do something that he shouldn’t, and I can’t communicate to him the importance of why we do or don’t do something. I sort of just have to go with the flow and follow his lead. But each day we communicate better and he is already speaking more english with me than he did when I first arrived.

I’m excited to settle into my normal schedule next week when his school goes later and be diligent with my creative time. I’ll be posting some music and writing once I have more to share!
