Yes, people watching and talking is important and that's my point. The OF team starts responding to comments/theories or posts something (like the blacked out card very early on this year.) And people start making theories and analysis before the show is even out giving it publicity. It's honestly an interesting tactic that perhaps other productions might learn from.

Now tbh, I'm personally very interested in how this all unfolds. I've not been following everything to closely, I never follow promo material for any show from anywhere, just a post here and there and what people repost to tumblr, basically whatever reaches me through word of mouth. And that's why it stands out as odd to me. For other shows I've seen lesser activity and even people repost something it has to do with the actors, what they said, some details of the characters, etc. but not enough to piece together a plot or characters even if these theories end up wrong. On the other hand Only Friends has Jojo and other Behind The Scenes people responding to fans or, like a day or two ago, where someone from the crew said something about heartstopper and then Jojo said something too. Like how often have shows hinged on the behind the scenes members [director, writer, PD, etc.] instead of the actors. For most shows everywhere it's the actor that determines how many people show up, thus the concept of brand pairs is so popular. And no doubt people are here for FK, FB, NeoMark, but more than that fans are here because of Jojo. For the queer rep he has promised. I've seen more reposts of his tweets than any of the actors.

Now this very much has to do with money. OF does not seem to have it. But it does have a dedicated crew who would like to tell this story and prove that this story and stories like these are worth telling and people are invested in it. That people will show up to it. In my personal opinion I think the crew is more dedicated to it's success than the cast. Perhaps it has to do with contracts, perhaps money but overall, while I see the actors playing their role as actors when doing publicity, it's no different than they would for any other show, afaik.

The thing I'm most worried about and perhaps even the most dangerous thing with this approach is if the show does not deliver on what it's promised or if they do deliver on the scamming, cheating, sex but with a bad storyline or if the show loses steam towards the end which GMMTV shows are infamous for. I don't think it would take away from the show but I suspect people could use it as an excuse to not invest in similar shows. [There is a very slim chance of this happening. LBF it would require the show to fuck up so bad it doesn't even make any sense by the end. But thing is, fans have hyped it up in their heads so much that I imagine anything less would cause an uproar. Which would be really sad. But I've also seen this fandom stick to terrible storytelling and flat out refuse to see the issues when the word queer is slapped on something.]

Sorry this answer was so long. I'm just as interested in the show as I am in watching how it unfolds in the fandom and how people react to it so I have a lot of thoughts on the matter. It's the crew's strategy that has done the PR for the show.

I understand that people don’t see each other often when they live in different countries , but people with the means that Malec have absolutely can take the time to show up at the grand opening of whatever their child is doing ( granted I don’t know what is going in their lives as you do but it seems like they never showed up at Max’s events )Like these people are not 9-5 ers . They more or less dictate their schedule. I guess I was hurt on behalf of Max. 😝I don’t think TLND Max holds a grudge or anything about the distance, I just think that his parents could make the effort . Maybe I am being too demanding 🤷🏾‍♀️

As for LBF Max , the situation is complicated but I guess you can’t change “people “. Meaning your characters are staying true to themselves in this area and I just have to get over it and be disappointed with them in this area .

i havent watched the new video yet, but from what i heard, i dont understand how someone that is so scared and does not want to be there, forces themselves to participate. Because you’ll either come out looking really bad or you’ll look like a coward to people. this girl did a q & a on her stories after being with snc and one particular answer she gave that was talked about was her saying she had lost views in the last couple of years or months and was trying to get that back. my suggestion would be not to put yourself in a situation where a large audience can possibly mistake your discomfort for snottiness but thats just me 🤷‍♀️.

Really not comfortable with the lbfs sub having a thread for Ev's dad's funeral...Honestly feels kind of gross. Nobody on that sub (or at least, most people) knows him or his family personally. But...

Honestly if you're an OUAT fan who refuses to watch season 7 because it's set in a different location/timeline, or there's an older Henry or Colin O'Donoghue plays an AU!Hook or Rumple has an even more unreliable accent than usual, or for any other reason, then I'm sorry but my buddies my friends my pals my siblings in Christ you are missing out on SO MUCH.

Things I’ve learned/still wonder about from WayV’s relay cams

WayV’s dorm is a clutter zone and might be worse than the notorious tenth floor where NCT 127’s messy line resides. Honestly their dorm is giving the 10th floor a run for their money.

Hendery likes legos apparently but that still doesn’t explain why the ~fuck~ there’s a lego box under the cat litter.

Ten is basically a certified cat trainer. Honestly if he wasn’t in WayV he’d be that dude with like 20 cats and he’d pamper each and every one of them.

Leon can play fetch and is an angry salty zooming boy.

Louis is a tired good boy, but we already knew that. We also got more LBF (Louis Bitch Face) content. This is the face of a man scandalized:

Rowan Dane: Sing for your supper

Home, Rowan thought, as he climbed back to the floor with the kitchen. (Floor? Level? What was appropriate on a ship?) This ship was home now. He hadn’t really thought of it like that yet, but it was. And it was roomy compared to his old place. Sure, there were mysterious smells sometimes and things sparked now and then, but Rowan trusted that Parvati was getting everything fixed up as fast as she could.

And he wasn’t the only one living here, either.

Rowan looked at the instructions on the back of the noodles package. Looked easy enough, especially for someone who could boil water. He began to sing again, softly, as he found the flavor packets and tried to figure which one would go best. There weren’t enough noodles to feed everyone, far from it, but noodles with the B&B and maybe some of this flavor would work.

He’d make dinner for everyone, and it would actually have some decent taste to it, and they’d probably be amazed that he did this. He hadn’t cooked yet.

This was honestly the happiest he’d felt in so long. And no LBF, either! It was a genuine, pleasant happiness. Rowan prayed it would last, even just until bedtime.

He finally tested each flavor packet by opening one of each and carefully tasting just a bit. Whatever he picked had to be strong enough to cover the taste of B&B, but still actually taste good. (Couldn’t do anything about the “we’re eating tumors” problem.) Citrus didn’t work, but a packet labeled “PepperMento” did; just spicy enough, Rowan decided. Time to cook some noodles, mix them with B&B, add PepperMento and serve.

ADA had stayed quiet since the visit to Welles’ asteroid. A human might say she had much to think about, but ADA had lots of power to think, and could come to conclusions easily, even while navigating the ship. Sitting on a landing pad was much less strenuous. A human might have decided it was bored, but ADA could not get bored; she prided herself on it.

What she did instead was observe. It was easy to come to a conclusion on little or no data, and extrapolation. Observation was the only way to determine if the conclusion was correct. And observing everyone, everywhere, on the Unreliable, was not difficult for ADA.

Now, her current Captain was singing in the kitchen as he prepared food. He wasn’t very loud, but it was definitely singing. Captain Hawthorne had often sung when he was happy. Therefore, Captain Dane must also be happy at this moment; it was the first time he had sung since he had come aboard.

(ADA did not have capacity for grief or emotion. It was still possible that the spike of activity in certain intelligence drive sectors at the memories of her previous Captain might be construed by humans as grief. Humans ascribed their own emotions to anything, even inanimate objects.)

What was unusual was that her Captain was not singing any song or advertising jingle she knew. She triple-checked her data storage; no, not there either. Was he making it up himself? Captain Hawthorne had sometimes changed the words to advertising jingles, usually to something obscene or profane, but he always thought his new words were funny. Whatever song Captain Dane was using, it was not one ADA knew, and she had all of Halcyon’s official, approved songs in storage.

The melody was simple enough, and there was a repeated section of the same words at regular intervals, and the song was about a spacer crew (but not Spacer’s Choice, it seemed), and their antics. Harmless, as far as songs went, but unlikely to ever be Board-approved.

The vicar was also listening, from the hallway leading to the kitchen, but he showed no signs of entering and possibly disturbing the Captain. ADA approved. If the Captain was finally happy enough to sing, it must mean his health was improving at last. If that were true, ADA had no wish to interrupt him and potentially ruin the moment.

honestly what i believe is that eric did hear about it from assad who described it in such a sweet but nondescript way that it DID make eric jealous at first but then assad immediately moved on and proved he's wrapped around eric's finger without thinking twice about it so eric didn't explode
