your writing is so fucking hot and perfect! pls can I request a fic where mel ends up getting possessive and jealous after seeing someone hitting on her girlfriend (reader) at abbott and when they get home, melissa makes sure that her girl knows that belongs to her and nobody else.
(featuring a lot of rough sex and some cute aftercare cuz we all love jealous schemmenti. 🤭)
a dangerous emotion (melissa schemmenti x fem!reader)
summary: when the new substitute teacher hits on you in front of melissa, you face the dirty consequences of her jealousy.
warnings: smut (18+), jealous sex, aggressive male flirting, mel threatens violence (it's melissa), squirting, like one mention of marking
notes: the sleepy witch is back. hope you like this one anon, sorry if i left it in the oven too long. also sorry for any other deficiencies tbh writing is a struggle rn. bonus points to whoever can spot the gay joke 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩 friendly fire.

if looks could kill, this fucking guy would be a pile of ash by now.
the teachers' lounge was uncharacteristically quiet. the tv had been muted; nobody cared to watch the morning news. all eyes flickered between you and the new male teacher on one side of the room, and your seething girlfriend on the other.
the redhead was visibly furious from the moment he walked in the door, eyes dragging down your body in your flowery sundress and matching tights.
"happy first day to me," he murmured to himself, thinking nobody would hear it. it took all of melissa's self-control and professionalism not to punch his lights out.
"spring looks good on you, sweetie," he drawled from behind you as you poured coffee from the communal pot into your favorite mug.
the hem of your dress floated up as you spun around to face him, and he licked his lips. you didn't notice it, but melissa did. her hands tightened into fists in her lap.
"thank you," you smiled warmly at the man in an attempt to be polite. he was tall and stocky, probably just a few years older than you. he seemed like the kind of guy who was used to getting whatever he wanted from women—with his handsome yet cocky grin and large arms crossed in front of his chest. "are you new here?"
"yep, and i like what i see already," he threw you a wink and you looked down at the floor. you heard melissa cracking her knuckles in the background. she only did that when she was holding back, either from pouncing on you or swinging at somebody else. "i'm jesse. i'll be teachin' math up on the second floor until ms. summers gets back from maternity leave."
"well, jesse, welcome to abbott," you said sweetly, hoping to escape this conversation and join your girlfriend on the couch. "i'm a first-grade teacher, so i won't be seeing you much. but it's nice to meet y—"
"actually, i was hoping you'd show me around," he cut you off, taking a few steps toward you. "if i get lost in this building, my preteen students will never let me live it down."
"oh, um..."
before you could finish your thought, he leaned in and whispered something in your ear. melissa saw the whole exchange, enraged at this man's audacity to even breathe in your direction. you were her girl. everybody knew that. and it was time for this guy to learn.
but when melissa stood up to confront him, you did something that made her see red: you walked out with him. the other teachers noticed her anger, of course, and tried to calm her down.
"melissa, relax," barbara said, gently pulling on her best friend's hand and guiding her to sit back down. "he's harmless."
"harmless?" melissa repeated indignantly. "barb, he was lookin' at her like he wanted to bend her over the damn table!"
"you look at her like that all the time..." gregory muttered, and melissa raised an eyebrow at him in accusation. he shrugged and averted his gaze.
"i look at her like i love her!" melissa insisted. "and she's my girlfriend. i get to look at her however i want. this jamie—"
"jesse," janine corrected.
"—can't just walk in and start undressin' her with his eyes!"
"if it helps, i can keep an eye on him, make sure he doesn't do anything untoward," jacob offered. "i'm pretty much the big dog on the second floor these days. i can set him straight if it comes to that."
"you couldn't even set yourself straight," melissa fired back, and jacob gave the camera a defeated look. "what, you think i can't handle this myself?"
"well, it's just that... jealousy is a dangerous emotion on you," jacob answered tentatively.
"jealousy? what am i, some kinda teenager? i don't get jealous."
"i don't know, you seemed pretty jealous at pecsa last year when the keynote speaker gave y/n his room number," gregory pointed out.
"he was just annoying."
"you poured your math-a-rita on his white suit jacket," janine chimed in.
"the jabroni shouldn't have worn white to a bar!"
"melissa, i know you're protective of y/n, but she's a grown woman capable of making her own decisions," barbara said, placing a comforting hand over the redhead's clenched fists. "she doesn't seem to have a problem with the man. at some point, you just need to trust her judgment."
"yeah, she and i are going to have a little conversation about her judgment when she gets back."
"whose judgment?" you asked as you strode back into the break room, jesse following close behind.
when your question was met with silence and anxious looks from your friends, jesse took hold of your hand and brought it to his lips.
"thanks for the tour, cutie," he said after pressing a chaste kiss to the back of your hand.
"thank you," you replied, shifting uneasily and look over your shoulder in anticipation of melissa's reaction. she didn't keep you waiting long.
"hey, hon," melissa approached the two of you, then hooked an arm around your waist and pulled you close. "the kids'll be here in half an hour, do you wanna go prep your classroom for the science lab?"
"i did that last night," you replied, not taking the hint.
"of course you did," mel cooed and planted a kiss behind your ear. jesse quirked an eyebrow in confusion. "maybe i just want some alone time with my lovely girlfriend before i start my day. that okay with you?"
you nodded sheepishly and leaned in to her. you could feel her possessive anger in her tough grip on your waist, could see it in the subtle wild edge to her green eyes. despite being in deep trouble, you still relaxed into the warmth of her casual touch and the familiar scent of patchouli on her skin.
jesse took a step back, opening his mouth as if to say something and sighing instead. as you and melissa exited the breakroom, jesse tried one more time to get your attention.
"hey, if you need any more—"
"i think we're good, janine," melissa cut him off with a dismissive gesture.
"it's jesse," the man sighed with a frustrated look at the camera.
---
"what the hell was that, huh?" melissa had you pinned up against her classroom door before you could even process what was happening. "you're givin' free tours now?"
"n-no!" you stammered frantically, squirming with unease (and excitement) at the fiery confrontation. "not free! i only did it so he would give me the extra chairs from his classroom. you know i've been down a few since the eighth graders tried to make 'chairing' a thing, and i can't let my kids spend another day on the floor. it's not fair!"
"how many times have i told you, i can get you anything you need?"
"yeah, and where's your 'chair guy' now? at least jesse can finish the job!"
oh, you fucked up. you knew it the moment the words left your mouth. melissa eased off of you physically, but her intense glare kept you frozen in place.
"we'll talk about this when we get home. i love you; don't forget it," melissa pecked your cheek and you cocked your head, confused at her sudden tranquility. she moved to whisper in your ear. "because tonight, i'm takin' all my jealousy out on you."
---
you had the misfortune of running into jesse one more time before the day was done. he wolf-whistled from behind you as you walked briskly from your classroom to the lobby, ready to meet melissa and head home.
melissa might have broken his nose if jacob and gregory hadn't been there to hold her back. in fact, she was a split-second away from swinging when jacob took hold of her dominant wrist, shaking his head. gregory followed suit with the other.
the redhead tried to wrench her arms free and glared sternly at the young men when she couldn't. sensing her frustration, you hurried over to her. melissa's gaze softened as soon as she saw you leaning over the counter. you gave jacob and gregory an appreciative nod.
the pair let go of her arms and you took her hands in yours. "let's go home," you said.
the two of you walked out of the building as jacob and gregory approached jesse.
"she's not interested, if you're still wondering," jacob said, patting jesse's shoulder in mock sympathy.
"should be pretty obvious by now," gregory added.
"first day, and you pissed off my scariest teacher and my favorite?" ava said while strutting out of her office. "nice career move, jason," she snarked. the teachers gave her a bewildered look. "what? i pay attention!"
---
once you got home, it all happened in a blur. melissa's possessive rage had you slipping into that fuzzy, pliable headspace before she even slammed the bedroom door behind you.
you couldn't concentrate on much besides her forceful touch, fingers digging into your hips and mouth sucking bruises into your neck. her low voice cut through the static occasionally, but she seemed to be venting to herself rather than you.
"mine..." her fingernails dug into the flesh of your waist. "touchin' my girl..." she spaced out the words between nips to your neck. "gotta mark you up, let the whole world know..." she landed a hard swat on your ass, then shoved you off of her. "on the bed."
---
"remind me again what he said when you spilled coffee on your shirt," melissa growled from above you. you were spread out on her bed, naked with your legs kept apart by turquoise ropes tied to the bedposts.
"he said, 'feel free to take it off. i wouldn't complain about the view,'" you whispered back.
"and you just let that slide, hm? you entertained him knowin' all he wanted was an eyeful of your tits?"
"yes, melissa."
"i'm sorry, does someone need a reminder of who owns her? i'm happy to provide, sweet girl. tell me," she dipped a finger into your folds and stroked you lightly, "who gets you this wet?"
"you do, ah, only you," you whimpered as she caressed you.
"uh-huh," she cooed, sounding unsatisfied still. "that's right, baby. and i'm the only one who gets to see you like this."
she gripped your hips harshly before gliding her hands up to your chest. she kneaded the swollen flesh of your tits and then zeroed in on your nipples, tweaking and tugging on them.
"that fucker," melissa began, breathing heavily. "will never know how soft these are."
you shook your head in frantic agreement as she massaged you. one of her hands slipped down between your legs again.
"he'll never hear how your breath catches in your throat when your clit's touched," she whispered, beginning to rub soft circles into your bundle of nerves. "or—" she withdrew suddenly and gave your pussy a swat, "how you cry at a spanking."
her jealous attitude had you soaked and sensitive. you were already close when she brought two fingers to your entrance and pushed in.
"and if he ever even imagines the face you make when you come, that pretty little lip bite you do," melissa pumped and curled her fingers roughly, "i'll take edith houghton to'm."
her speed quickly picked up and soon she was diving into you with force, bullying your g-spot with her fingertips.
"come. now," she ordered, and you fell over the edge. you spasmed around her fingers as she drove them in and out of you. she smirked with pride as she looked down at you.
but when you got too sensitive and started to squirm away from her touch, she doubled down. she pumped her fingers faster, and dipped down to suckle on your clit. you cried out. it felt like you were on fire, but the burn was oh so delicious.
"and he'll never guess what happens when you get all sensitive..." she picked her head up momentarily to say this before sucking hard on your nub and crooking her fingers inside you.
you felt the burn rise into a hot tidal wave. a flood of warm liquid spilled out of you. melissa helped you through it before withdrawing her touch, her hands retreating to your thighs. she looked down at you fondly, smiling with only a tiny bit of smug satisfaction.
"god, i love when you do that," she mused, smiling at your dazed, pretty, happy face. "it's like a gift just for me."
a gift. happy first day to me, he had said.
now reminded, melissa was pissed again. but the venom of her jealousy had trickled away, and now all that remained was an urgent need to give you the love and care you deserved.
"but you said somethin' earlier about 'finishing the job.' and i just feel like my job isn't finished, sweetheart," she smiled and cupped your cheeks. "how's a bubble bath sound?"
"mm-hmmm," you managed, fucked out and delirious.
---
"i really wasn't jealous, ya know," melissa murmured into your ear as you snuggled into bed, her chest pressed against your back.
"i find that hard to believe. i mentioned his name and you ripped my panties," you teased.
"okay, maybe a little bit."
"30 percent?"
"20."
"25."
"fine."
"then what was the other 75 percent?"
"i guess it just pisses me off when people don't treat you right. you're a beautiful angel, not a sex doll."
"i don't want you to feel... to feel like you have to take care of me all the time."
"baby girl, you know i don't do things i don't wanna do. you're the love of my life. i wanna spend every minute treatin' you like a princess."

Prompt where r is a sub in Abbott who's head over heels for Melissa. She doesn't have the nerve to admit it let alone talk to Mel without being a stuttering and flustered mess. Barb noticed it as well as the other teachers but they leave the sub for the silly crush she's harboring with the redhead thinking it's cute to see such thing like that in the school . Yet Ava, who's like have eyes everywhere teases her about it. Melissa on the other hand is clueless and joined the teasing one day not knowing it was actually about her and the sub, who became absolutely embarrassed at that point and left the break room quickly. All eyes are on Melissa, Barb + crew was like questioning her if she means the teasing or she was just blind and clueless.
So this fic got way out of hand, I thought it was gonna be a cute 2k word one then I look when I’m finished and there’s 4.5k words. Whoops. I really thought this prompt was funny and cute and hope I did it justice. I’m sorry it sat for like 2 weeks while I did all the other fics but I finally got to it. Not edited in the slightest and I hope you like it!
On another note: I’m getting to all your prompts! If you wrote one then I will write a fic for it. I don’t delete them so don’t worry, it’s coming! I also didn’t expect to name it with the one I went with to describe it but oh well
Clueless Teasing
Warnings: Smut, I think one swear word and a shit ton of fluff
Words: 4.5k

You walk in through the doors of Abbott Elementary. It’s your first day as a substitute teacher at this school and you were beyond excited. They told you they’ll need you until the end of the school year which is in 6 months and they told you you’re filling in for Janine Teagues.
You walk into the office to get your temporary badge and classroom key. As you walk out you run into someone causing you to drop both things and the other person dropping a folder. You immediately bend down to pick up your things and the folder for the other person and stand back.
“Sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going-” whatever you were going to say next was cut off when you looked at the person and got distracted by her. Luckily for you, where you finished seemed like the end of your sentence and the woman smiled as she grabbed the folder from you.
“It’s alright hon, happens to the best of us.” She says and looks at your badge. “New teacher?” She asks.
“No no, um new sub. Filing in for a teacher called Janine Teagues.” You tell her and smiles.
“Did you happen to be shown where her classroom is?” She asks and you mentally facepalm.
“Um no, I- I didn’t.” You tell her.
“That’s alright, if you want I just have to drop this off and I can show you. The classroom is across from mine. I teach second grade as well.” She tells you and you smile.
“I would love that, thank you so much…” you say and try to read her badge but got distracted by her chest.
“Schemmenti.” She says and you look back up. “Melissa Schemmenti.” She tells you and you blink, of course she has a beautiful name, fits her beautiful face.
“That’s a lovely name.” You tell her and she sticks her hand out to shake. “I’m-I’m…” you start to introduce herself but short circuited when you shook her hand, it feels so soft.
“You’re…?” She asks and pulls her hand back.
“Oh right my name is Y/n Y/l/n.” You tell her and she smiles.
“That’s a lovely name too. I’ll just go drop these off and then I’ll show you the classroom. I’ll be right back.” She tells you and you nod. She goes into the office and 10 seconds later someone comes up to you.
“Hi, are you a new teacher?” He asks you.
“New sub.” You tell him.
“Oh amazing! I’m Jacob Hill.” He says and brings out a hand for you to shake.
“Y/n y/l/n.” You tell him. “I’m subbing for Janine Teagues.”
“Oh cool, I was good friends with her. She’s a temp at the district right now.” He tells you and you nod. Just then Melissa comes out and sees Jacob there.
“Jacob, are you trying to scare the newbie away? I thought that was more Janine’s thing.” She tells him.
“Well someone has to fill in for her.” He jokes back and she snorts.
“Come on kid, I’ll show you to her classroom.” She tells you and you wave goodbye to Jacob.
You walk down the hall with her and can’t help but feel mesmerised by her.
“So how long are you subbing for?” She asks you and you shake yourself out of your trance.
“Um um 6 months.” You tell her, cringing as you forgot how to speak for a second.
“Are you ok? You seem nervous.” She asks you.
“Ya I’m fine, a little nervous. New place and people.” You tell her and she nods.
“Understandable.” She says and then she stops. “So this is the classroom.” She says and nods her head to the side to the room. She then turns slightly and points to a class down the hall. “And that’s where mine is. Have any questions just feel free to ask. And another teacher, Gregory Eddie, his classroom is just right here.” Melissa points to the classroom just right next to yours. “Him and Janine are close so he can answer questions too.” She tells you and you nod.
“Thank you so much Ms Schemmenti.” You tell her and she waves you off.
“Oh please, call me Melissa. I normally don’t let newbies call me by my first name but you seem ok.” She tells you and you blush.
The morning goes by quickly and before you know it, it’s lunch time. You get the kids lined up and you begin to walk out and to the cafeteria when you have no idea where it is. You were about to ask the kids when Melissa walks by with her class and sees you don’t know where to go.
“Hey newbie, just follow me.” She tells you with a wink and you blush again.
“Thanks Melissa.” You tell her and you follow her to the cafeteria. You both drop off your classes and then she goes to walk out.
“Did you bring a lunch today newbie?” She asks you and you nod.
“It’s in the classroom.” You tell her and she nods.
“How about you bring it to the break room and come meet some more teachers?” She says and you nod.
“Ok, although I have no idea where it is.” You tell her and she giggles.
“I’ll bring you there, let’s go get your lunch.” She tells you and starts walking to your classroom and you sprint after her. For someone wearing heels, she’s sure fast.
She brings you to the break room and you see Jacob there with Gregory. You met both of them briefly today. You see a few other teachers chatting in a corner. You see another teacher at a table that Melissa goes to sit with.
You go to sit at an empty table but then Melissa stops you. “Newbie, come sit with us.” She tells you and you blush then sit down in the empty chair at her table. “This is Barb, she teaches Kindergarten.” She introduces her friend to you.
“Hi Barb, nice to meet you. I’m y/n y/l/n. I’m subbing for Janine Teagues.” You tell her and she smiles.
“Nice to meet you dear. I see Melissa has taken an interest in you.” She tells you and you blush.
“Oh I’m just lost so she’s been nice to me and showing me around.” You tell her.
“Ya like I said, she’s taken an interest in you, she doesn’t do that for anyone.” Barb tells her and Melissa rolls her eyes.
“You’re making me seem like a bad person.” Melissa complains and Barb chuckles.
“Not bad, just antisocial.” Barb responds.
“Well whatever it is, I just really appreciate your help. And if there’s any way to thank you then let me know.” You tell her and she smiles at you. That smile will be the death of you, you just know it.
Over the next month, you’ve been fitting in well and getting to know around the school, and the students seem to like you. You have Melissa to thank for the support and guidance. Your crush for Melissa has just grown more and more as she does seem to take a liking to you. You think that your crush has grown more into love though and you’re not sure how to act around her most of the time, or what to say. Most of the time when you talk to her, all that comes out is something that makes you seem like you have a loose circuit or wire, and you sometimes don’t understand what you say.
One day was really bad though as Melissa accidentally got pushed in a busy hallway and got pushed into you against a wall. You looked at each other and your lips were centimetres away from each other, if she didn’t pull away then you might have kissed her right then and there.
“Sorry kid, busy hallway.” She said as she pulled back. “Kids don’t watch where they’re going most of the time.” She told you.
“Oh.” You squeaked out and you clear your throat. “Oh, it’s alright, um ya. It’s alright.” You tell her and she looks at you confused and you want to bolt out of there but you can’t with all the kids in the way so you just start walking.
All the other teachers seemed to notice how you act around Melissa and they know it’s a crush. They don’t say anything though, since it’s none of their business and having fun watching you try to keep it together. The only one who doesn’t know is Melissa, and you want to keep it that way. But of course Ava happened.
Ava has been watching you on her cameras for awhile now ever since the incident in the hallway that happened during your second week here. She’s having fun watching you try to be a human being around Melissa and failing. After 6 weeks of watching this, she decides to do something about it,
So one day you were all in the break room while Janine was visiting everyone again, she seems to pop in once a week, she’s met you and seems to like you as well. Anyway, Ava comes waltzing in like she always does and looks at you with mischief in her eyes.
“So y/n.” She starts and you look at her confused as she walks to the coffee machine. “I know who you have a crush on.” She teases you and your cheeks go red. Melissa looks at Ava then at you.
“Do you have a crush on a girl y/n?” She asks you and you don’t answer, you just take a sip of your coffee.
“Oh she sure does. And she seems to not know how to act around her. Stuttering and becoming flustered, trying to be a human being and failing, miserably.” Ava continues on and you wish the ground would swallow you whole. And worst of all it seems Melissa is finding this amusing, as she begins laughing at what Ava is saying.
“Oh, I would like to see you around this girl, see you apparently fail at being a human being.” Melissa teases you. Your cheeks go red and you get so embarrassed that you sprint out of the break room and to your classroom.
Once you get to your classroom you close and lock the door and then just sit in your chair and sulk.
Back in the break room everyone looks at Melissa. “What?” Melissa says as she notices everyone staring at her.
“Why were you teasing her about her crush?” Jacob asks her.
“Because it sounded funny.” Melissa says like it’s obvious.
“Do you even know who her crush is?” Barb asks and Melissa shakes her head.
“No, she hasn’t told me, why? Has she told you guys?”
“She doesn’t need to tell us when it’s obvious.” Janine says and Melissa looks at everyone and she’s lost in what everyone else seems to know.
“Girl, how blind are you? You seem completely clueless to what’s really obvious.” Ava states and Melissa frowns.
“Ya like even though I’m not always good at reading people, it’s obvious to me as well.” Gregory says and Melissa looks at all of them confused.
“So it’s a teacher then?” She starts and they all nod.
“And someone you know extremely well too.” Barb says and Melissa is taken aback by this.
“But everyone I know well is in this room, and y/n is only interested in women.” Melissa says and everyone looks at her to see if she’ll figure it out. Melissa still looks completely lost, like something isn’t clicking like it has for everyone else.
“This is getting hard to watch.” Ava says and she almost blurts it out right there.
“Melissa dear, you know y/n, she’s told you what type of women she’s interested in. I know she has because I was there when she has.” Barb says and Melissa thinks about it.
“Well ya, she says she likes older redhe-” and that realisation stops her dead in her tracks. “I’m an older redhead.” She says and everyone smirks. “And I’m in this room.” She says and puts it all together and thinks about all your interactions. “OH FUCK.” She says and runs out of the room to go searching for you.
“Honestly if she didn’t figure it out right there then I would have just told her.” Ava says and everyone glares at her. “What? I didn’t though.” She says and Barb shakes her head at her.
Melissa walks down the hallway and decides to look at your classroom first and sees the closed door. She goes to open it and sees that it’s locked so she knocks on it.
“Y/n? It’s Melissa, are you in there hon?” She asks and doesn’t hear anything. She asks again but is still met with silence so she assumes you’re not in there and goes to check other places.
In your classroom you heard her both times but chose to stay quiet, you just want to be left alone right now.
Melissa is getting worried, she’s checked everywhere you could be but can’t find you, she texts you again but no reply.
Melissa: Hey hon, I wanted to talk to you about something, where are you?
Melissa: I wanted to apologise for what happened in the break room.
Melissa: I’m trying to find you but don’t know where you are?
Melissa: Hon, I’m getting worried, can you reply back to me please?
Melissa: Can you at least tell me that you’re ok?
Melissa decides to just go to her classroom and talk to you at the end of the day. When the bell rings she sees your door wide open and you welcoming back your students from lunch. She sighs as she thinks about what everyone told her at lunch and looks at you longingly. Barb and Gregory see her look at you and they shake their heads.
Melissa’s heart breaks a little, you have a crush on her and she never notices any of the signs, and she teased you about it to the point that you got embarrassed and left. She’s thought about her feelings for you many times, she remembers you telling her your type but she didn’t have any feelings for you at that point and didn’t think much about it. How long have you had feelings for her? Cause she hasn’t seen you act very differently from the first time you’ve met. And that’s when it clicks, you’ve been interested in her since the start and she mentally facepalms.
At the end of the day, Melissa says goodbye to all her students as they’re getting picked up or walking to their school bus. When her last student leaves she sees you locking your door to leave. So she runs in to grab her things, locks her door and bolts to you. She makes it to the parking lot and sees you pulling out and she sighs.
The next day, you come in and when you get to your classroom you see it’s already open and Melissa is spinning a little in your chair.
“Hey hon.” She says casually and you freeze.
“Um h-hi Melissa.” You say and she smiles. She motions for you to come closer and you close your door and walk to your desk as she stands up. You sit down at the chair and Melissa is sitting on your desk. Feet dangling on both sides of you when you sit in the chair.
“I wanted to apologise for what happened in the break room yesterday. Ava and I shouldn’t have teased you.” She starts and you sigh. You didn’t really want to be talking about this, you just wanted to forget about it, finish out your 4 months and then hope to get placed somewhere else.
“It’s fine, don’t worry about it. Just forget it happened.” You tell her and she tilts her head at you. You get up to go and get something at the other end of your classroom but Melissa straightens her legs out and puts them up, effectively trapping you. “Uh, Melissa, do you mind? I need to go get something.” You tell her but she doesn’t move.
“When were you going to tell me you have a crush on me?” She asks and your face pales.
“What?” You ask, very nervous now.
“When were you going to tell me you have a crush on me?” She repeats and you don’t say anything. “Were you ever going to tell me?” She asks and you shake your head. “So you were just going to finish up your 4 months and what? Just leave?” She asks and her voice breaks a bit at the end. You nod your head in response to her question and she sighs. “Why weren’t you going to tell me?”
“Because everyone I’ve ever had a crush on never likes me back so now I just keep quiet instead of making a fool out of myself.” You tell her and she puts her feet down. You go to move but she grabs your arm and pulls you to her.
“Oh hon, that’s no way to be. I mean if you never told me and just left then you would have never known that I like you back.” She says and you short circuit.
“Like me back?” You question and she nods.
“Ya, I like you as well you goof.” She says with a smile. You still look at her confused and she rolls her eyes. She then pulls you closer to her and kisses you. Your brain catches up with what’s going on after a second and then you kiss her back. Melissa lets go of your arms and you move a hand up to grab her hair while she puts her hands on your hips. You both pull back for air and you stare at each other.
“How did you find out?” You ask her and she blushes a bit.
“After you left yesterday, everyone sort of helped me figure it out. They all knew except me, go figure that out.” She jokes and you giggle.
“Ya I thought you were the smart one of the group.” You tease her and she huffs at you.
“You’re a little shit, you know that?” She says and you nod. She smiles then just pulls you back and kisses you again. You move your hands from her hair to her cheeks, then to her arms, then back up to her hair. Just trying to touch everywhere you could. While Melissa sneaks a touch and finds the skin under your shirt and places her hands there. You don’t seem to mind so she risks it and keeps trailing her hands up to the front of your chest and you still don’t stop her, even when she’s about to cup your breasts through your bra. You realise that you want her to touch you, you want her to unclip your bra and make you moan and you don’t want to stop. Melissa puts her hands on your bra and squeezes a bit and you moan. You still don’t stop the kiss and she moves her hands to your back to your bra clip and she undos it. She sees that you still don’t stop her so she moves her hands back and puts her hands underneath your bra, right on your breasts and she starts playing with them. You gasp this time and Melissa takes the opportunity to stick her tongue in your mouth and taste you. Melissa wraps her legs around your waist and pulls you closer to her.
You both pull away to breathe and you see how blown her pupils are and see the lust written all over her face. Her brain remembers where you both are for a second and she leans in to you. “If you want to do this now then I suggest you lock the door.” She says huskily in your ear and you shiver a bit. You then register what she says and you run to lock your door as she closes a few of your curtains. Just the ones where someone would be able to see you both.
You walk towards her as she’s leaning against the window sill, all sexy like you think and you smile. Once you reach her, she puts her hands on your hips and spins you around so that you’re against the window sill. She likes to take charge, you think, and you smile at that. You’ll let her take charge of you whenever she wants. You put your hands under her shirt and bring them up and to her back to unclip her bra and she lets you. You then snake them around to the front and you slide them under and feel her big full breasts and you moan and she pulls back. “You like my breasts hon?” She asks with a smile and you nod. She then takes her shirt and bra off for you to look at her chest without clothing in the way and your eyes widen. She then goes to take your shirt and bra off and you let her. She looks at your chest and she smiles. “So beautiful.” She says and you blush. She goes and sucks on your neck while you keep your hands on her breasts. You want to keep your hands on her breasts, I mean it’s not like you’ve been staring at them for 2 months with all her low cut shirts she likes to wear.
She moves from your neck to your nipples and you moan and this time you have to move your hands to the window sill or else you’d fall down right there. She presses her body up right against you when she pulls back from your nipples and kisses your lips, she snakes her hand down your pants and your underwear and finds you clit fast and rubs it. It’s a good thing she’s helping to keep you up or else you’d let gravity do its thing right there and fall. You also think it’s good she’s kissing you as you’d probably be loud enough for someone to hear.
“Keep quiet hon.” She tells you as she pulls back and then slides down your body and pulls your pants down and only has the patience to take them off one leg before spreading your legs. She then gets an idea as the floor here will hurt her legs. She goes back up and lifts you to sit on the window sill and spreads your legs that way, then dives down to your pussy and starts licking it like crazy. You bite your lip and do your best to keep quiet but her tongue is doing wonders on you and you let a few moans escape. She brings one hand up to your mouth and covers it with her hand. She then moves to your clit and tells you to suck on her finger, so you let her stick a finger in your mouth as she sticks another in your entrance and you suck on her finger instead of letting out noises.
She starts licking your clit with her tongue while fingering you and you keep quiet as best you could but she’s really good at what she’s doing. You let a couple of muffled noises escape so she pulls her tongue away and replaces it with her thumb. She pulls her finger out of your mouth and replaces it with her lips and tongue. You kiss her back and that gets you to keep quiet. You lean forward to kiss her too much at one point and end up falling off the window sill and on to her. With her fast reflexes she catches you and neither of you fall down but it does make her back up all the way to your desk. She turns you both around so you're against your desk and continues fingering you. You then realise someone could see you through one of the windows if they look and you push her backwards back to window. She gets the hint and allows it but still continues to finger you and you stop walking. She smirks and then picks you up and brings you the rest of the way. You’re close to an orgasm and Melissa realises as your legs start to shake and you’re breathing is faster. She rubs your clit faster and you come 5 seconds later, doesn’t stop though as she just keeps going.
You pull back from the kiss. “Mel- Melissa, please, it’s too much.” You tell her but make no other attempt to stop her.
“You can do it hon.” She tells you and you put your hand on her back and your mouth on her shoulder to have her closer and muffle your noises. You end up coming again and that’s when she pulls out. She helps keep you up for a few seconds and she licks her fingers and moans at your taste.
You help each other get dressed and fix your hair and reapply lip gloss. Anything to make sure you don’t look like you just fucked in your classroom.
“How about you come over to my place tonight? I’ll cook dinner and then we can continue what we started.” She says and you nod quickly. She giggles at your eagerness, gives your ass a playful slap, gives you a wink then walks out of your classroom. The bell is about to ring so you go to the door frame to greet your students as Barb walks by and looks at you.
“You might want to cover that hickey before Ava or your students notice.” She teases you and your cheeks go red.
“Wha-what hickey?” You stumble out and she chuckles. You take your phone out and put it on selfie mode and sure enough, there’s a hickey on your neck. You whip your head to Melissa and give her a glare. She just smirks at you and tries not to laugh and makes a heart shape with her hands to you. Barb sees the interaction and snorts and shakes her head.
“As happy as I am that you and Melissa got your heads out of your asses. Your students shouldn’t see this.” Barb tells you and ushers you in your classroom and quickly covers it with your makeup that you keep on you for emergencies. You never thought the emergency would be to cover up a hickey that Melissa gave you when you 2 had sex just before school but here you were. Barb quickly makes her way over to her classroom just in time for the bell to ring and you go and greet your students. You glance over at Melissa and she sends you a wink and you blush. You blow her an air kiss and she puts her hand over her heart.

The teachers were sitting in the break room and peacefully eating their lunches. Some quiet time is always welcomed in a school full of children but it never lasts.
“Me and Janine were wondering if you want to go out today. It’s Friday and maybe we can do some bonding. What do you think?” Jacob slowly asked Melissa and Barbara. It was the hundredth or so time. Every time failing.
“Can’t today I have something planned already.” Melissa quickly answered. As always.
“We were thinking to go to that new bar in town? They have live music today.” Janine insisted.
“Live music? I will call Gerald and ask what he thinks. I will let you know.” Barbara said and Janine smiled triumphantly.
Now Melissa realized she is fucked. She was going there tonight, you had a gig in that bar, and she promised you she will be there.
“Okay, I will go.” Melissa said, not really happy about it.
“But what about your plans?” Jacob asked smirking.
“I was going there anyway, wanted to listen to that new band. Maybe you won’t be such bad company after work.” And with that, she was out of the break room.
Jacob and Janine let out squeaks of joy as she is walking out.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You were so excited about tonight. Finally, you landed a gig and your girlfriend will be there to support you. What more could you want?
Your plan for tonight was to play your old song first to warm up and just vibe with the audience. For the last, you were saving the one you wrote about Melissa. She didn’t know anything about that. You wanted to surprise her and see her reaction.
Before the show, you talked to the manager at the bar, and in the corner of your eye, you saw red locks and instantly turned in that direction.
Melissa was here. Sitting at the table in front of the stage. But she wasn’t alone. You knew Barbara and Gerald, you guessed that the other two people were also from her work.
You didn’t know that she would bring someone with her. That’s not like her.
“Melissa is here but I need to go backstage. Why don’t you send her a beer from me? You know her favorite?” You said smiling at him. Turning around you made eye contact with Melissa and send her a wink.
As you were getting ready to start the gig, you felt a wave of nerves washes over you. You had been looking forward to this for so long. But with one look at Melissa, all of your worries vanished. You were so grateful to have her there to support you.
You introduced yourself to the audience and started with the first song. You decided to play some covers and the crowd was loving it. As the night went on, you couldn't help but notice Melissa's smile growing wider with each song.
Now came the time for your surprise.
“Okay guys, I want to share with you my new song called Pointless. I wrote it some time ago about someone very special to me, it’s a surprise. So I hope you like it darling and enjoy!” You said and turned to the piano.
Taking a big breath in you started singing.
I bring her coffee in the morning She brings me inner peace I take her out to fancy restaurants She takes the sadness out of me I make her cards on her birthday She makes me a better man I take her water when she's thirsty She takes me as I am I love it when her mind wanders And she loves it when I stay at home I know when she's lost and she knows when I feel alone
Melissa watched as you sat at the piano and started playing the notes. Wondering if you wrote it about her or maybe someone else. Not really believing that you did that for her.
According to her, she wasn't a person to write songs about. There was nothing about her, nothing she could think about that stands out.
But when the first notes played and you looked at her she knew. She realized that you looked differently at her, and noticed the things she would never think about.
From all my airs and graces To the little things I do Everything is pointless without you Of all the dreams I'm chasing There's only one I choose Everything is pointless without you
You sang the first chorus looking directly at her. You needed to tell her through the song how much she mean to you. How much impact her existence has on your life. You wanted to tell her all of that but you couldn’t find words so you stuck to the song.
Melissa sat at her table staring at you, her heart beating faster every minute. The words of the song hit exactly where they should, and she felt her eyes start to water. Her mind only thinks about how talented you are and what did she do in her past life to deserve so wonderful person like you.
I light the fire when it's cold out And she lights up the room I hope that she'll love me forever She hopes I'll be back soon I take her out to the movies She takes away my pain She is the start of everything And I'll be there 'til the end
You were scared to sing this song but one look at her was all you needed. You knew it was worth it when you saw her face as you sang. A soft smile graced her face and her eyes were a little teary. It was a risk to put yourself out there like that, but seeing her reaction made it all worth it.
She beamed every chance your gaze locked and you thought that you might not finish the song if she will look this cute smiling and swaying to the music.
I love when she laughs for no reason And her love's the reason I'm here She knows when I'm hurt and I know when she's feeling scared
You had never felt so vulnerable singing, often do covers and some of your old songs but this one meant so much to you. You couldn't stop the overwhelming feeling of love that embraced you, thinking about Melissa always took you to this safe place when you weren't scared to be yourself. She brought that out in you. She was your light in the darkness.
From all my airs and grace To the little things I do Everything is pointless without you Of all the dreams I'm chasing There's only one I choose Everything is pointless without you
You put all of your feelings in the last chorus. Singing it directly to her. Everything was pointless without her in your life.
The crowd erupted in applause as you finished your song. You could feel your heart beating out of your chest, but you couldn't help but smile as Melissa stood up, clapping the loudest.
Her eyes were watery from the tears she let out while you were singing. She felt her jaw hurting from how much she smiled during your performance.
“Thank you so much, guys! You were a wonderful audience! I can’t wait for my next gig with you!” You said at the end smiling widely.
As you walked off stage, you couldn't wait to talk to her and see what she thought of the song. Everything else around you seemed to fade away as you made your way toward her.
You didn't even get to greet her as she launched herself onto you, embracing you in the tightest hug.
“Thank you, thank you so much, honey. I loved every second of your song. Thank you.” She said in your ear not letting you go. “I love you so much. And I’m so proud of you.”
You moved away a little to see her face. Her cheeks flushed from all the feelings and her eyes shone so beautifully. You couldn't stop yourself from kissing her. Transferring all your love in that one kiss.
“I love you more darling. And thank you for coming here it really means everything.” You said your forehead resting on hers. The two of you smiling like idiots to each other.
“Wow, that was really something. Who would have thought?” The voice behind you interrupted your moment. You and Melissa turned around smiling sheepishly, forgetting about the other teachers.
“That was beautiful! I'm really proud of you! And so happy for you both!” Barbara said breaking the silence and embracing you in a hug.
“That's so much to take in but oh my you are so talented! You sound amazing.” She said enthusiastically.
When the drinks were emptied Melissa stood up to get another round and left you with the teachers.
“So” Janine started “your last song. It was about Melissa?” She asked quickly as Melissa was gone from the table.
“Yes it was, it was terrifying to sing it as she never heard it and oh my I'm so glad she liked it!” You said with a smile on your face, grateful for the girlfriend you got. “Being with her is the happiest I have ever been in my life.” You said noticing the pair approaching your table. “She is really something else. And what more can I say, my life would be pointless without her.”
Melissa smiled at you hearing what you just said. She was so grateful for you being in her life. Someone with whom she finally could be fully herself. She never would have thought that she would find someone like you. You were the missing piece in her puzzle that is called life.
Life wasn't pointless anymore. Not when you have each other.

abbott elementary season 3 ep 1 & 2 REVEIWWWWW
idk why but I thought y'all might wanna hear what I thought about the season premierrrrrr!!!! it was so good and so chaotic. so many things going on at once.
when Janine walked out and revealed as district, I HAD A HEART ATTACK. but then the context helped. im just a little confused because didn't the Manny the district guy say Janine could go back into her class 1-2 days out of the week to teach?? or was it just to go around about hearing feedback?? it was so sad to see Janine's kids not caring about her presence and the super mean substitute. But, that one little boy, Alex, made my heart just warm!!!! It just reminded Janine why she's doing what she's doing!!!
omg and Janine and Gregory?? the way Janine HAD THE CONFIDENCE to go talk to Gregory about her feelings at the beginning of the school year??? like where did that bravery come out of, and she handled the rejection so well. like honey. I would have DIED. but also.... the way Gregory just... moved on???? well, I get why. bro has to protect himself, but like come on greggy boy, don't tell me YOU DONT just feel a little of love for Janine???? but I love the way writers handled it at the end. they didn't leave the awkwardness for the season and that is something I APPRECIATE. and at least we know that Gregory and Janine still want to be friends and still miss each other platonically.
am I being paranoid for being scared of Manny the district guy???? Like my boy Jacob had a point. Manny WAS giving me some crush vibes and it doesn't help how nice and genuine he is. LIKE IM LITERALLY FALLING FOR HIM. and his mom was a teacher??? I would love to see him more, but just not as another pawn in Janine and Gregory's relationship. but, I knowwwww better. and my girl QUINTAAAA will make us wait.
I think Janine is getting really confortable and friendly with the district crew and it's kind of scary me because if she gets TOO comfortable, she won't want to leave. I think when the fellowship ends, they'll offer her a permanent spot on the team and she'll want to take it but still teach at abbott.
Barbara was so cute this episode, with her makeup. and with how honest she was to the district. as some who works at a high school and has been dealing with a particularly horrible district and administration, Barbaras words hit too close to home. but she realized that the whole district team is essentially just 4 Janines with the power and position to make things happen. and I think she's really opening up to relying on the district more.
omg my girl Melissa. honey., I was so scared every time Gary made a marriage joke. and when he proposed I HAD A HEART ATTACK AND FOR A SPLIT SECOND I THOUGHT MELISSA WAS GONNA SAY YES and the rest of the season would be wedding planning. but as embarrassing and heartbreaking as it was for Melissa, she stayed true to herself and was mature to end the relationship. and my girl just crying made me cryyyyy omg. she looks so sad even though she was the one to break up with Gary, AND I KNOWWWWWW SHE'LL STILL BE HEALING. I don't think this is the last well see of Gary since he goes to the school every Thursday, but I think it'll be the end of their relationship permanently. but now that Melissa knows fs was wants to date and knows she doesn't wanna get married, I think she's gonna be in her exploration phase. HOEEEEE PHASSEEEE. god please send Melissa a gay awakening PLEASEEEEE. she needs a rebound and no better rebound than a woman. that would be so fun and so true to her.
but yeah thats all I think so far. and it was a great epsidose and a great start to an already unpredictable season!!!

Touch
summary: soulmate au where whenever your soulmate touches you it leaves a temporary imprint on your skin. (aka the soulmate au nobody asked for)
janine/ava/melissa. (platonic work wives mentioned)
ps: this is a part 1. there is more planned. also all mistakes are mine.
Janine is a very touchy person which has always brought trouble to herself. Most people prefer to think she was just a stupid girl trying to find her soulmate. Janine had learned to stop her instincts of touching people very young. At work it takes a long time for her to touch anyone. First time it happens with Jacob, him being her best friend and also gay and having a soulmate already, there was no worries surrounding physical touches. And so there was no awkwardness between them.
Second time she touches someone though, it’s Ava.
It's an accident, obviously. Ava is sitting in Jacob’s place in the teacher’s lounge. Well, it’s not actually Jacob’s place, but it is the place Jacob sits everyday. By Janine’s side. And when Janine sits down, Ava doesn’t get up to leave. She just stays. It is not the first time it has happened. They’re talking. Actually mostly Janine is talking, but then Ava says something funny in return and Janine touches her arm while laughing without even thinking about it. Janine takes her hand off Ava’s arm fast, thinking she fucked up. Then she sees it. Right on Ava’s arm, where she touched it, the mark of her hand. And Janine finds herself speechless (really it’s a first for her, not having words).
Ava takes a few seconds to understand what’s going on. She’s not the kind of person who believes in soulmates. That’s just a cute thing that happens to some people. Certainly not to her. Certainly not with Janine of all people. And yet, she finds herself shocked by the image of Janine’s hand imprinted on her arm. So shocked she just stands up and leaves. Hoping nobody has been paying attention to them.
From the other table, Melissa had been observing the whole exchange. She wasn’t the one to keep probing into other people’s life but she had been keeping tabs on Janine. Maybe she had been turning soft, really. Because she found herself caring for those younger teachers more than she did the ones that came before. Maybe it was that they stayed, and Melissa had to admit she actually respected them for it. Melissa tries to ask, confirm it somehow, but Janine looks like she's about to cry if anyone says anything.
“Come on, let's take a walk.” Melissa says, standing up. Her voice doesn’t leave room open for Janine to do anything other than follow. So Janine follows, quietly. Melissa makes a mental note to go to Ava next, because she can't really believe Ava just left. (She can, if she's honest to herself, but she looks at Janine and gets sort of angry again). Melissa guides them to her classroom, Melissa knows the younger teacher needs some privacy.
“Come on.” Janine enters, Melissa closes the door softly. Janine sits down, Melissa can see she’s holding the tears. “Hey,” Melissa says, “I think she’s just scared.” This makes the tears fall down on Janine’s face.
Melissa pulls Janine into a hug, softly soothing the younger woman. “Everything is going to be fine.” Melissa whispered, softly. Over and over again, until the young woman in her arms calmed down.
“You don't know that.” Janine said, her voice broken. Melissa had let go of the hug, but she was still close, her hand was holding Janine’s.
“I know it mig…” Melissa started saying, but then, something caught her eye. Where her hand was touching Janine, there was an imprint. “Oh, fuck” Melissa said as soon as she realized it. Janine looked at Melissa confused, then followed her eyes to where Melissa’s hand was still holding her. The imprint was starting to fade. It’s a second that seems like they are both frozen in time.
“Is that possible?” Janine asked. Of course, she knew about it. People with more than one soulmate. It was more common with people who had already lost a soulmate. Janine has seen documentaries, not many. But to someone who grew up hearing that she probably had no soulmate, that she was too annoying to have a soulmate, Janine had never engaged the idea of multiple soulmates. She was happy with Tariq, they had been friends, she thought it was the best she would’ve managed to get in her life. And now she was watching as an imprint of Melissa’s hand was fading from her skin.
Melissa. And Ava. Both of them.
“I’ve never seen it happen either…” Melissa let her hand touch Janine again, leaving it for a moment just to see the imprint again. Janine felt like Melissa wanted to say something but was stopping herself. She didn’t try to make her. Instead, she looked at the red haired teacher, her cheeks flushing a bit
“I’m not sure what we’re supposed to do.” Janine admits it, “Have no experience with having soulmates.” the s in the end sounded so foreign to her ears. It didn’t feel real.
“We could talk after school? My place? I’ll make dinner, we’ll have time to think about it…” Melissa offered. Considering her experiences, she wanted to take this slow.
“And Ava?” Janine asked, unsure.
“I can ask her to come to my house. We should probably discuss this all of us anyway” Melissa said, but Janine still looked unsure. “It’s going to be fine, hon, I promise.” Melissa reassured her, and pushed her close to kiss the top of her head. Janine left Melissa’s classroom then. The kids were starting to arrive and they had to do their jobs.
And so they did. Janine went through her day as if nothing had changed. But she felt so different. It felt like a dream, really. Janine considered going to Jacob to talk about it, but gave up on it. She decided she was better off eating lunch by herself, to put her thoughts in place. What she didn’t expect was Ms Barbara Howard going to check up on her.
“Janine, I’m sure everything's going to be fine.” Barbara said, when she saw the younger teacher eating at her classroom, alone. Janine gave a small smile to Barbara.
“Barbara, have you ever seen someone have two soulmates? At the same time?” Janine asked. Maybe she hoped Barbara would tell her that it was common.
“Two?” Barbara asked, confusion clear on her face. “I’ve heard it, yes.” And it seems like maybe Barbara isn’t as comfortable talking about it than Janine thought she would be, because she doesn’t add more than that.
“ When Melissa touched me…” Janine doesn’t finish her sentence. She thinks that maybe she shouldn’t have said anything. Maybe Melissa wants to tell Barbara herself.
“Melissa?” Barbara seemed more confused than Janine herself, but her face soon turned happy. “Well, that’s a good thing. She’s good, and you can be good for her. She might be able to make Ava settle too” Barbara said. “Listen Janine, I do hope everything turns out well with them. Don’t worry too much.” And then she was gone.
-
Melissa, on the other hand, knew exactly where she was headed to during lunchtime. She made the way to Ava’s office fast. But the principal was nowhere to be found. Not that Melissa expected Ava would be doing her job anyway. She walked to the basement. Ava’s bathroom was the next place Melissa had on her list. If she was honest it was the last place too. She kept thinking of the imprint of her hand on Janine’s arm. She thought back of the first time she saw her hand imprinted on someone else.
They had been friends for a few months, Melissa and Barbara. They had started hating each other, at first. Melissa knew the hatred was not real, at least not from her part, but she knew she felt this necessity of having Barb’s attention. They had eventually become friends. When it happened, they were thankfully by themselves. Just them. Melissa had forgotten herself and had held Barbara’s arm, as they laughed about something she couldn’t even remember. Her hand on Barbara’s arm was an image that had haunted Melissa for many years. Sometimes it still did.
Barbara didn’t want to have another soulmate. She had Gerald, and she was ready to have kids. But they could still be friends. And so they stayed as such. Melissa didn’t resent her, she really didn’t. At that point she knew Barb too well. But, sometimes, during a lonely night, Melissa would cry about it. The rejection of her soulmate was a wound that she didn’t think would ever heal.
And then Janine happened. And Melissa didn’t exactly know what to think about it. How to feel about it. She certainly didn’t let herself think about Ava. Well, not until she actually found the principal. Which she did. In Ava’s secret bathroom.
Ava was… She did not look well.
“Ava?” Melissa asked. She had no idea how to approach this conversation. She knew Ava, though. Melissa knew how much of her she saw on Ava. Melissa knew that, when no snarky comment came as Ava looked at her, it was serious. That unlike what she did with work, Ava wasn’t taking this lightly. Melissa approached her. She sat on the floor, by Ava’s side. At least the principal didn’t look like she had been crying. Melissa wasn’t sure she could deal with that. “Listen Ava, I don’t know how you feel about that whole thing, but, hm… You should touch me. Just to test it out.” Melissa blurted out. How do you explain to someone that their soulmate is also your soulmate? Melissa had to test it, she had to know if Ava was also her soulmate.
“What?” Ava asked, confused.
“I went after Janine, after all of that happened at the lounge. I’m also her soulmate?” Melissa explained. Ava looked like she was about to say something; but no comment followed through. Melissa continued, “We’re having dinner tonight, at my place. I would want you to go, even if we’re not soulmates.” Melissa didn’t dare hope that Ava was. She could understand Janine, pushing through life always with a smile, having more than one soulmate. It even made sense that it would be Ava. Ava who’s tough and pretends to not care when she does care a lot. They’d balanced each other out. Ava’s practicality and Janine’s dreamy ways. But Melissa? She was too old, too battered by life. She had already been rejected by one soulmate, what good would come from having another one? She certainly didn’t think she would have a third one.
“Why would you want that?” Ava asked, which made Melissa freeze a bit. She knew she would have to tell them about Barb eventually. But she wasn’t really ready to let anyone else know about it yet.
“Because you’re her soulmate too. I’m not going to make her choose between us. Even if we’re not, we’re still linked by her. And even though you’re a pain in the ass at work, I really like you Ava.” Melissa was honest. Well, as honest as she was willing to be at the moment.
“What if I don’t want to know?” Ava asked.
“I don’t mind if you don’t want to know, but it might be difficult to keep it up for a long time” Melissa said, she didn’t want to force it on Ava. She understood the Principal's behavior in a way. “I mean, Janine is not the only one who’s a bit touch-y” Melissa offered up this little secret about herself freely. Ava laughed a little. It was easy, between them. Melissa felt her cheeks flush. If she had looked at Ava, she would’ve seen the principal was also flushed. A comfortable silence settled between them. For a moment Melissa considered saying something, but couldn’t think of what to say. She looked at Ava though, their eyes met. Ava did not look away.
“Your place tonight, huh?” Ava asked, eventually breaking the silence. It was unsaid that Ava was still not ready to know. Melissa knew it would happen eventually. And even though it made her insecure to think about it, she thought it was important to respect Ava’s own time.
“I’m going to cook.” Melissa confirmed, with a smile.
“So at least I know the food will be worth going.” Ava said.
“Ava, don’t overthink it. I’m sure everything is going to be fine.” Melissa tried to sound like she was sure of it. Truth was, she didn’t know. But she hoped.
Melissa’s phone rang, announcing it was the end of recess and she had work to go back to. She left for her classroom, feeling a little more hopeful for the night than she was before.

did you watch the new abbott ep? thoughts?
I did! I was kind of 50/50 on it. Sorry in advance for rambling LOL
I feel like the double episode format just... Really messed up the pacing. Way too much happened in way too little time, so there was nothing satisfying and the stakes didn't feel very high. I think there were also some big missed opportunities.
"New Ava" gets resolved in like the first 10 min with 0 impact on the overall story or the characters... like why. This should have been dragged out for the whole episode IMO, it would have been so fun. But they just wanted to get it out of the way to race to the Janine-leaving-Abbott story. Also Janelle looked fucking amazing and pretty much stole the episode, so they should have just let her run away with it instead of confining the humor and drama to the very beginning.
"Oh no Janine went to work for the district, oh no Teddie isn't going to happen maybe, omg Janine is working with a new cute guy" doesn't generate any emotional tension because it all gets talked through by the characters in a short time span and Janine and Gregory are friends again by the end of the episode thanks to the timeskip. The will they/won't they was timed really well throughout the first 2 seasons so where is that sense of timing now yk...
Barbara like... did not do much to be honest... She resolved the New Ava problem, but after that mostly stood around and was a sounding board and complained about the district/changed her tune after ONE conversation where Manny said what could reasonably be, pardon me, just bullshit, bc we don't know him well as a character yet, and somehow Barb was like yay :) I like the district now :). She felt really underutilized. She deserves a PLOTLINE this season. I feel like Sheryl gets a lot of praise and attention, but the show doesn't always give her opportunities to match what she really contributes.
The Gary/Melissa situation ground my gears a lot, like it's super great that Melissa stands her ground and rejects him with everyone's support, but tbh "Gary does a massive misogyny using the Philly Eagles and the whole school as a prop" seemed like a moment for Melissa to be angry, not just sad. Like why did she end up comforting HIM? I feel like every time the show brushes up against misogyny something dumb like this happens
Jacob is Jacob and does Jacob things which is fine.
I'm also wondering: where is the charter school storyline??? Have they not been able to get Leslie Odom Jr back? They set him up as a Big Bad and the threat of Abbott being forcibly turned charter as a serious concern and then that completely vanished. Does ABC have some charter school people on its board...? Lol. I would love to find out if maybe Manny and his weirdos could play into this and turn out to be charter school villains but rn this just feels like a major loose end.
It's hard bc I have such a sentimental attachment to the characters and seeing them all back again was so nice. But this felt like a super clumsy start to the season. I'm sure there was a lot of pressure on the writers as well, not just in terms of the double episode format, but because the show has gotten so many awards and so much press, they may have felt they HAD to throw absolutely everything out there to build up the premiere as huge and explosive.
I'm hoping the return to the half hr format will help smooth out a lot of the wrinkles and help bring back some of the structure, because IMO there were definitely hiccups and missteps in past seasons, but you could really feel an underlying story structure for many parts of the show (Teddie, Barb and Janine's relationship, Ava's growth, Melissa and her personal life). Fingers crossed ig

Abbott Elementary S03E07 thoughts
Melissa having a spare room baring in mind we’ve seen her house feels fake sorry - How will she have a room mate but noone look at her pictures and keep control of her kitchen. I get its gonna be for plot but i don’t buy it
I’m w ava that’s a woman who just found out she’s not pregnant - that’s a woman who’s been successfully slutting it up (how’s she gonna slut it up with a roommate)
Omg protective barb 🥺 (ALSO BARBS RIGHT BC MEL WOULDNT GIVE OUT HER ADDRESS WILLINGLY)
AS SOON AS SHE SAID NERD I THOUGHT JACOB
“I know its gods will but hes gotten awfully creative” 😭😭😭😭😭
I love it when Mr johnson lore gets unlocked
Manny and the beard whew 😮‍💨 I was literally wondering where he was so I’m glad they’re using him again
Janine ur SO SMART this is such a good idea and not like a janine unnecessarily fixing a problem like an actual good idea- good job babygirl
Not ava spilling the tea to the whole room
Ponytail melissa at home is so personal to me, I love that this continues from s2, this is just who she is, she throws her hair up when she’s at home. I like that she’s wearing the eagles hoodie we’ve seen before too. Love the hair, makeup & costume details on this show
“I only know how to cook for 12” 😭
Finally mel talking about her breakup! Damn maybe it really was “im not bringing this to school” this whole time
Also Gary being a dead ringer for her dad?? I’m not saying my headcanons are more correct than the show but I disagree with this statement. Gary is not schemmenti coded.
Omg the jacob melissa work momming work sonning ive been dreaming of
“And dont forget theres a 3 booked limit 😒” barb is PISSED and i LOVE IT
“Oh i know what a google doctor is 😤”
Barb really is the best character on tv im sorry noone can do it like sheryl lee ralph like they just cant Shes everything
Janine forgetting the key term (pottery wheel) in her analogy she is so me
“Jacob if u dont like my ziti just say so and i will heave myself out that window” 😭😭
“I went to find mr johnson but he was still crying” NO 😭💔 hes just a sensitive guy 😔
“Mrs howard i blew down the house” 🥺🤏🏻 I love the kids being so central in this ep, I’ve missed that recently, and the kindergarteners are soooo cute
“🐷 I am a pig 🐺 i am a wolf 😄 and im a librarian who thinks she can just change everything around here 👋” IJBOL no please give sheryl another emmy I beg
“This programme is more of a distraction than an improvement” that’s teaaa actually. Thats so often what councils etc do, distract with new flashy things rather than fix the real problems. Even though in this case it’s well meaning it does make u think how big a priority should the library actually be? But actually children reading is super important and what did they say last season? The librarian was an alexa in glasses? 🤣
“You okay? You look like raven having a vision” 😭 you don’t understand how often i say this
I have thoughts on Barbara’s intentions and my instinct is gregory needs to keep her name out his mouth. I do think it’s really important that Janine stood up to Barbara, just maybe gregory made barbara seem worse than she was
“It’s been a rough week I could use the pick me up” i just love mr johnson
My immediate reaction was this one of my favourite episodes of the season - lots of excellent Barb moments, the kids, more mr johnson, story arcs I enjoyed and felt completed.
Janine standing up to Barbara was a really big deal for her considering her hatred of conflict and worship of barbara as a mother figure. It made me really proud to see how far janine has come.
But the longer since watching the less I like it. And it’s two main things:
- the jacob melissa room mate situation feels like jumping the shark for plots sake and not something realistic for those characters. So as much as I enjoy them and their dynamic and their growth it just feels fake.
- I dont care about the librarian. The set up feels like she could stick around and I just don’t care for new characters, I like my main people. (But then the same apprehension was had w the district people and they’ve not seemed to be around much).
I do still really like this ep and it definitely ranks highly in the season, just idk, some eps I enjoy more over time but this has made me feel more confused as to what will happen next I guess.
