hiii im sure you’ve answered this before but in regards to your twst x Pokémon, how do you choose which Pokémon go give to the cast?? really curious since your choices are unique :O

unique in a good way, I hope? 😅 (jk jk I haven't come across too many pokemon AUs, so I was going in without preconceptions, I guess!) I was sorta aiming somewhere between doing, like, a full AU with internal consistency and everything, and just picking entirely based on theme/character, so maybe that's why! basically I just set some arbitrary rules (no legendaries/no repeats/evo stages based on year) and then went on ~vibes~. a couple were also suggestions (thank you guys!) and last-minute decisions, so it was a bit of a delightful mess of ideas!

my one regret is that I should have given Riddle a Togedemaru after all. ...you know what, he can have one now, why not

sorry these kinds of comments have been really pissing me off recently lol

#it's been kinda hard for me to pinpoint WHY exactly these sort of comments feel insulting #but i think it's mostly because it implies my original work is purposefully and inherently derivative of things i have no connection to #while i think being derivative in art is. kinda unavoidable in a sense (and something i'm aware i do consciously and unconsciously)#it feels like a slap in the face when people imply that my work cannot hold its own merit and need to be compared to #something in the popular conscious #and like sometimes people don't know it's original art which is fine #but it also doesn't hurt to ask if it's original instead of just. immediately assuming or comparing it to something else #i know this will only get more difficult as i continue to drift away from fanart and fan works #but i really want to be able to be proud of my original work and i want to share more! because it's a part of me!!#but its really hard when it feels like i'm always going to be compared to things people care about more!!!! Tommy opens the door and is hit by the mouth-watering smells of tomato sauce and enough garlic to drown a vampire. It’s been a long day, he’s barely had time to neck a coffee let alone sit and eat a proper meal. Dropping his keys in the bowl by the door, he kicks off his shoes and is pulling off his jacket as he moves through his home.

“Evan?”

“You’re home!” It takes a second before Evan appears, apron splattered with tomato sauce and flour streaking his temple. The sight of him causes his heart to skip a beat, stomach swooping at this gorgeous man looking so thrilled to see him. “You look like you’ve had rough shift.”

“Long,” Tommy says. “Very long.”

He tips himself into Evan’s arms and turns his face into the sweet-smelling neck, nuzzling in as strong hands sweep up his back. Evan’s happy to hold him, supporting his weight and the vulnerability he’s been shy about showing. But no matter what he offers up, Evan’s always thrilled to take it and keep it safe, even the ugly parts of him.

“You’re home now,” Evan says, soft and sweet in his ear. “And dinner’s going to be about ten more minutes if you want to wash up.”

Tommy shakes his head, tightening his arms around his waist. “How was your day?”

Evan hums, carding fingers through the back of his hair: a shiver runs down his spine and his face presses deeper. “Was good. Eddie tripped and fell into an open sewer. He was not happy.”

He laughs, lifting his head and nudging his nose against Evan’s cheek. “I wouldn’t have been either.”

“It wasn’t funny though,” Evan promises, kissing the corner of his mouth. “Come on. Let’s get you sitting down. I don’t want to burn the sauce.”

And Tommy’s hand is taken, fingers linking with his own, and he’s tugged into his own kitchen that’s never felt more like home.
