Just ahead I can see the beautiful island and I smile ready for the next four weeks that await. My best friend convinced me to go to a casting call for a reality tv show called Paradise and I didn’t think anything would come out of it. But a couple of weeks later, I got a call saying I was chosen and now I’m on a boat heading to the filming location. 

All I know is that it’s supposed to be four weeks of 9 other smoking hot single people and partying. I couldn't be happier. “I’m Liam and you are?” He sends her a smile as she answers him.

Louis is 25 and a football player, he’s also British and he’s wearing a white tank top and gray shorts, Zayn is 24, an artist, he’s British but living in the U.S., and he’s shirtless with a pair of red swim trunks on his legs, and Kate is 24, from France, a model, and is wearing a blush pink bikini. 

I finish off my second glass and walk around the table, opening the second bottle. I pour my third glass and when I turn around I see two more figures walking toward us. As they get closer I lock eyes with the guy and he sends me a smirk. My knees nearly buckle. 

Fuck he’s hot. 

Everyone starts to notice the newcomers and stop their conversations, turning their attention towards the stunning man and woman walking towards us. The guy is shirtless and he’s wearing yellow shorts while the girl is wearing a white bikini. The man passes everyone coming straight up to me. 

“Hello love, I’m Harry.” He smiles at me holding out his hand and I lift my champagne glass to my lips taking a sip before reaching out my hand. 

“Y/N”. He smiles again as he takes my hand in his shaking it lightly before turning my hand, and pressing a kiss to my knuckles. I try to hold back the blush crawling across my face, biting my lip to suppress a smile. 

“Quite the charmer aren’t you?” I tease him and he smirks. 

“You got me.” He lets go of my hand as I make eye contact with him again.

I pour him a glass of champagne as we make our way back towards the group introducing ourselves to Harry and the girl who I’ve learned is Riley. Harry is 21, and he’s looking towards being an actor, having just recently moved from his hometown in England to Los Angeles. While Riley is 25, from Australia, and is a waitress. Harry sticks close to me and we find ourselves getting lost in conversation.

“So I’m going to be honest with you Y/N.” He starts and I tilt my head at him. “I really really want to make out with you. And maybe more.” He smirks pinching his bottom lip between his thumb and forefinger and I smile, flipping my hair behind my back. 

“Oh, do you now?” I tease him, and he groans, throwing his head back. 

“Yeah I do.” He counters back, looking back at me with those stunning eyes. I drop my head and bite my lip hiding my smile as I look up at him through my eyelashes. 

“Yeah maybe I do too.” I let the smile break across my face and Harry is about to say something when a whistle cuts through the air. We all look towards the villa seeing a man dressed in a suit coming towards us. 

“Hello beautiful singles! Who’s ready to party!” He yells to us making us all cheer and clap. “Welcome to Paradise! I’m John, your host and I hope everyone’s excited to be here. We’ve let you start to get to know each other but now it’s time for a party! We’ll have a special guest joining us later tonight but now it’s time for you guys to all get ready. Please head inside the villa, and feel free to explore the grounds, I’ll see you all tonight at sunset!” John announces to us and we cheer. 

He walks away and I down the rest of my glass of champagne before starting to follow everyone. Harry stays by my side as we walk beside the pool towards the cabana which is decked out with one big white sofa. We all stick together looking through the rooms. When we get to the bedroom people start running for beds and I take in my surroundings counting the beds. I count 6 but there are 10 of us. 

“We have to share?” I say under my breath and an arm wraps around my waist pulling me to a side. I look up seeing Harry as he leans down to whisper in my ear. 

“Would you do me the absolute pleasure and share a bed with me tonight?” He asks me, his eyes boring into mine and I smile nodding my head. 

“Yeah, of course.” He smiles back at me, squeezing my hip before letting go of me as everyone begins to file out of the bedroom. We end up in a dressing room where all our suitcases have already been delivered. I make my way to mine digging through the extensive amount of clothes I brought to find something for tonight. After failing to find something to wear I lean over to Sage and I ask her what the vibes are for tonight. 

“Something simple, yet classy is what I’m going for. I wouldn’t worry Y/N you can pull off literally anything.” She smiles at me. I mumble out a thank you as I dig through my suitcase again this time finding an outfit. 

I put on a red dress with a deep v-neck and cut-out sides with pieces of fabric forming x’s up and down my sides. I throw on a necklace that resembles branches and do some light makeup. I leave my hair down letting it flow down my back and when I finally finish I make my way to the cabana. 

“Damn Y/N! Looking good!” Ava yells as Louis and Zayn whistle and Riley cheers. 

���Thank you, thank you.” I mock bow, waving my hands in front of my face to cool myself down. I laugh as Ava pulls me in for a side hug giving me another glass of champagne. When Harry eventually makes his way to us, he sits down next to me putting his arm around my shoulders. We all talk waiting for John to show up with the special guest. 

“So Harry, who do you think is going to be the special guest?” I ask him bringing his attention to me and he shrugs his shoulders. 

“I have no clue, maybe a singer or something. Who do you think it’ll be?” He questions me back and I respond the same way. 

“No clue, hopefully, they're good if we're being made to wait this long.” Harry laughs nodding along. 

“Hey do you guys want to play a game?” Kate asks the group and we all nod along. She motions for everyone to get up and we all head down to the beach. “So Niall and I were thinking we could all take turns being blindfolded and one person can do whatever they want to the other and the blindfolded one has to guess who did whatever it was to them.” Kate explains and again we all nod. 

“Well since I was one of the people to invent this game I get to go first!” Niall yells pulling out a blindfold. I shake my head laughing. 

Where the hell did he get a blindfold? 

As the game is played I get slightly nervous when it’s my turn. People were making out and grinding on each other. These people are seriously on a different level. I get called up and Sage wraps it around my head and I stand there trying to tap into my other senses.

Once we hit one we cheer looking around for the guest but no one appears. We turn back to look at John who has now disappeared. 

“What the fuck is going on?” Louis yells and we all shrug. We keep looking until something from the middle of the cabana begins to rise. It’s a white-shaped cone with a led pink strip at the bottom. We all look at it confused. 

“What is that?” I ask and everyone shrugs. We hear a ding and it starts to speak. 

“Hello everyone.” The robotic voice rings through the air and we all respond. “I’m Lana, your personal digital assistant. Welcome to the retreat.” Everyone looks at each other even more confused. 

“Retreat what the fuck?” Liam yells about to say more before Lana cuts him off. 

“The purpose of this retreat is to help you gain deeper and more emotional connections. For the last 12 hours, I have been watching you and learning your behavior. You have all been selected as you have all been having meaningless flings over genuine relationships.” We all groan out and some deny the fact that they have meaningless flings. While everyone is looking at homestuck stuff today might as well get a shoutout for my currently unnamed music au featuring pitch vriskezi

(under the cut this time is only au stuff! Noone is gonna ask so might as well get the rant out now)

It’s basically a meteorstuck kinda au? Except I decided to say fuck it all the trolls are alive (mostly because I have a few songs in my playlist that are very much feferi<>sollox vibe and I kinda need them alive to be able to sing yknow)

So uh. Trolls are kinda bug-like. And they communicate with words, yes, but also with dancing, like bees? A lot of body language, especially when it comes to your quadrants; leaning on your moirail’s shoulder, grabbing your kismesis’ wrist to stop them from turning away from you... and also just actual dancing and stuff. So, trolls dance. But then Dave and Rose get on the meteor and teach them about how humans communicate. With music.

Cuz like, in the au, humans can get on the same wavelength as other humans via song. Singing is a way a human shows how they feel or think about anything at any given moment. You gotta learn the lyrics (unlike my other music au, which is also a magic au where the lyrics are chosen for you by fate gods aka me specifically and you dont gotta know the lyrics before singing) but like its sorta a bonding thing? and humans are social creatures so they gotta sing every once in a while or they get sadge

so the kids teach the trolls how to sing and thats all really fun and cool and whatever. meanwhile I’ve fallen prey to karkezi flushed propaganda via fanfiction so now Im sitting in the “what if dave and terezi moirails” because they’re my favorite beta kid&troll and the dynamic they have in canon makes my insides fluffy in the way a good moirallegiance gotta get outta you yknow.

Anyways timeskip to after they win Im very much ignoring how by that point both sessions were lost and I decided both of the groups win and like the humans make a new earth ig and like they still have their godtier stuff (at this point Im just picking and choosing what I want based on random music from my 600 songs playlist being put on shuffle). and uh. Well dave becomes a film person (I wanted to say director but also he writes the movies so also scriptwriter and just. he makes movies). And decides to make actual homestuck’s plot into a 12 movies and ongoing film franchise that is basically as well known as like. star wars or whatever. but bigger bc I never actually watched star wars so I only know about it the basic stuff a person who once dated someone who watched all the star wars movies enough times to quote them offhandedly would.

anyways dave is stuck with the part where the trolls get actually introduced to the audience in non-text form and is like “can I convince a bunch of actors to dye themselves grey and put candycorn looking horns on their heads without anyone thinking Ive lost it” when actual trolls (all 12 beta trolls+a bunch of friendsim trolls I thought would be fun to put in+unnamed background trolls for the confusion of wtf is sgrub) land a ship in the middle of area 51 and immediately get cornered by human guards patrolling the area in case aliens ever crashed there.

Anyways is now a good time to mention rose grew up to become the person who runs area 51 because she is and apparently at some point during the 3 years on the meteor she pulled like feferi and karkat aside to go “yo so when we win the games if yall wanna stop by earth 2.0 Imma go run our alien communication center so just ask the people there for rose lalonde yea” and uhh. they do. the other trolls in the background are Confusion over who tf this rose lalonde person is. the human guards are confused abt how tf the aliens know the full name of their leader bc usually the aliens just go “we want to speak to ur manager” or whatever so one of them takes their walkie talkie and talks to her and rose is like “oh hey they made it btw is one of them wearing green and looks like a vampire tell her I love her” to which kanaya fckn melts ig. soft gfs.

and uhh. well at this point except rose all the other beta kids can kinda teleport? Jade is still part-dog, john is wimdy, dave stops time and powerwalks over then unpauses time... rose just calls her limo like “dude I gotta get to this specific part of the desert plz” and by then dave is having a passionate debate with the guards about how trolls are actually awesome and the guard is like “they havent sang anything to make me think theyre intelligent species” or whatever and then the 12 main trolls do like. choreographed dancing with rainbow colors and stuff to various feel-good songs in my playlist. And then dave starts live streaming with scifi tech he alchemized during the game that he kept around like “yo ik theres rumors abt the trolls showing up for the next movie can we all give it up to my moirail and the rest of these lovely folk” to which the internet immediately implodes bc imagine fckn. idk. big time movie producer just starting a livestream in which he casually talks to a bunch of aliens while his half-dog bestie is floating the in background.

yeah and then the protagonist of friendsim sees that happening and goes to talk to the friendsim trolls who are there and thats fun and idk

dave is really good at assigning trolls random songs they should like. my playlist is almost entirely clown cult music its all violence and bright colors and yelling into the void and starting a revolution over the fact you suck at video games.

also the alpha kids are there. because dirk strider is my favorite homestuck character I want to dunk him in my tea like he’s a sad animal biscuit. he also gets a song where he and hal are being passive aggressive and sad about prince of heart stuff ig

izuna: i like him. don't @ me i have already learned he basically is just a side character with like 2 scenes. but that's WHAT compels me the most, honestly? like already in canon, all he's ever been referred to is madara's brother.. the brother who gave his eyes..... and also, around the time he lives, everyone surrounding him is already POWERFUL as HELL. like it's clear they're gonna go down in the history books, and they already have so many titles- but even then, was izuna just regarded as oh, that's madara's little brother? it's such a weird paradox, bc i feel like he'd have a lot of feelings on self worth and not being regarded as his own person and his accomplishments paling in comparison to those around him and always being underestimated and never being allowed to speak for or represent himself, but there's so little content of him we don't know his feelings. feels bad man

tobirama: he's cool? ig? again, where i'm at, he hasn't really been.. regarded as a Person, yet, just as oo the powerful second hokage. he created a lot of jutsus. so it's hard for me to form an actual opinion. things i do know include: he created a lot of the forbidden jutsu of the leaf, he's serious compared to his idealistic older brother, and he holds a grudge against the uchiha (which makes sense i think? they were warring for so many years weren't they? he probably lost people to them too). maybe he also has some thoughts on being the younger brother, the second? perhaps he thinks it's illogical for hashirama to be thinking of creating a village, with the uchiha no less, after all those years of endless fighting? i don't know! but i hope to find out.

hashirama: this guy i REALLY know next to nothing about, least of all how i feel about him. i know he's like... Nice, or something, likes peace and stuff- but isn't he known as the god of shinobi? that's interesting. he's regarded as one of the most powerful ninja EVER, yet he doesn't seem to like fighting as much? he could probably do so much more damage than he did.... was he holding back? since madara supposedly lost and died, in their final battle, i'm guessing he's the one who had the statues at the valley of the end created? but what for? it's so far from the village. if they were warring so long, he must see the uchiha- or at least madara, as equal, to pose them like that. he founded the village, after all that fighting and slaughter. and he has grandchildren. wow. grandpa hokage. i guess i like him sorta

She left the relative safety of her northern town to get some godsdamn life experience HOW is she supposed to handle all the politics of the Territoires if she's never seen the damn Territoires, DAD!?! Honestly.. (and if she eventually wanders beyond the borders of Winter, then really, who's to judge??)

I have not yet figured out how she and Rune end up meeting, because they are literally from opposite ends of the continent. But they end up meeting, falling in like and dating for.... three months-ish. After literally bumping into Les and maybe getting caught up in a brewing revolution, Snow, Rune and Les travel through The Shadowed Grove, where Nix and her people live. (i could talk for HOURS about how Snow and Nix are each others mirrors, narrative foils, their paralels- *inhale* but thats a post for another day)

god i also wanna talk about Nix leaving the Grove and her community, her flight, but that is also a post for another day

So Nix leaves the Grove with the gang to see the world! And also fight this evil conqeruer guy down south or whatever. (evil conqeruer guy = Drift Sandshifter my beloved i will talk about you someday god you're so cool)

Snow.... doesnt like Nix. At all. From her POV, this random Drakonyc (Lisken for "half-dragon) just wandered in here, tagged along on their very important mission, WILL NOT SHUT UP, and ON TOP OF THAT, Les trusts her! After only a week of traveling!! What the fuck!!! It took WEEKS for him to even look her in the eyes!!! How. Shes so confused and hurt. what the actual fuck.

By the time they arrive in Nimbus(?), the town being thretened by The Cloaked Conquerer (Drift), tensions are at a breaking point. As The Conquerer's forces amass in the deserts outside of Nimbus and the resisters gather in town, they prepare for battle.

And the moment arrives.

Snow, with her sliver spears, fighting for the innocent town thretened by evil. Fueled by rightious anger, she fights like a whirlwind. She doesnt know what is happening on the other side of the battlefield. She cant know, how could she? (Later, she learns what happened on the other side of those dunes. She hates herself when she doesnt know if she would have stopped it.)

Nix with her staff and leather armour, wanting adventure, caught off guard by the brutality of both forces. She is felled by a warrior stronger and more experienced, succuming to a blow to the head. The last thing she sees is a dark green cloak brushing across the sand.

And so the battle ends, neither side winning. As the leaders both call to retreat, Snow seeks out her partner and friend, excited to tell them of her fighting skill and triumphs. She finds them outside the infrimary, Les trembling and Rune bleeding sluggishly as he tries to comfort him. 

When she asks what's wrong, she learns that her feathered friend is one of the legendary Spiritwalkers, famed mages able to hold emmense power over the souls of both the living and the dead. Les connected all of their souls to his, just for the battle, so he could know if they were dead or seriously injured (btw dont ask me how soul magic works i have absolutely no idea). 

"Nix- her connection- its muted, its so faint, we've asked around but no one's seen her, she's missing and we havent collected all the bodies yet what if one of them is her's-"

They don't know. They can't know what's happening in a small stone cottage a mile away, and they won't know for another few hours. And so they wait, they wonder, they worry. (and you can't know either, as im going to discuss that when i do one of these for Nix)

duke: the oldest of the group and the leader. he lost an eye when a dog attacked him :( for a while he wanted nothing to do with dogs until he got to know tyler (a dog i haven’t drawn yet) (well not since 2018, here’s an old drawing)

duke didn’t trust tyler but jupiter vouched for him, and so he joined the junkyard jaminals. duke and tyler are actually besties now!

bing: so emo. hates everyone 🥰 while duke went through hell and still has hope, bing went through hell and his hope died. he’s pessimistic, kind of a jerk, and is only a junkyard jaminal because duke insists on “fixing him”. he kinda serves as bombs second in command, and they’re both in charge of keeping outsiders away. he’s less enthusiastic about than bomb is lol

jupiter: she’s dukes wife! she’s co-leader of the junkyard jaminals and chips mom :33 she’s incredibly stealthy, having grown up on the streets with her brothers and parents and learning how to survive without being caught by animal control

squiggle: he’s in charge of surveillance, watching from his tower for any incoming enemies or threats. he mostly naps up there though cos nothing ever tends to happen. also he’s lazy ksjdkfk chip likes to visit tho! squiggle takes the opportunity to teach her how to watch for danger so he can nap lmao

clementine: one of jupiter and dukes kids and juneberry’s twin sister! she’s the nurse, helping juneberry take care of injured or sick jaminals. she doesn’t really enjoy it, and would rather be a fighter like bomb or bing. but duke and jupiter won’t let her cos they don’t want her getting hurt

juneberry: the doctor cat, and clementines twin! they call each other twins cos while there are three in their litter, they look way more similar to each other than they do with their other sibling i have yet to design ;^^ juneberry loves being a doctor cat! she’s all about helping her friends and family <3 she’s very silly btw

tallulah: idk what she actually is? i adopted her from another artist cos i loved her design but it didn’t occur to me that. i should have at least some idea of how she fits in the narrative? for now let’s say she’s a lab experiment that wasn’t supposed to be sentient. and now she helps with surveillance cos. she has wings? idk

xveca: she’s from a planet that was taken over by mars (space colonialism smh). she escaped, and was on her way to mars to fight those guys, but as she passed the sun her ship went haywire and she crashed on earth. duke and jupiter are the only ones who know she’s an alien. she’s very confused by earth customs and such. duke and jupiter have taught her a lot tho! she’s in charge of finding food

muffin: idk how she fits in the narrative actually. i never decided. she’s very sweet tho

bubbles: same here. he and muffin were such wasted potential </3 he loves to play!

bomb: she has an explosive temper (haha) but she’s loyal to the very end and very kind. she’s in charge of guarding the junkyard and handling threats however she sees fit (bing helps). she has this cool power where if she wants to she can explode, but it uses up one of her nine lives

i was thinking about it and i realised that i had sort of subconsciously been under the impression that atla was one of those star wars situations that tells you anyone can be magic but in actuality every major plotpoint just ties back to one single family every time (some of you may be saying “but rey wasnt a skywalker!” to which i respond “who was the primary antagonist then wiseguy” but this post isnt actually about star wars so fuck me ig) anyway what im getting at is, other than zuko, whose major theme is his relationship with his family and therefore with his nation as a whole (and also he was actual royalty so it was inevitable tbh), every single other main character’s parents were not explicitly benders, or were nonbenders. aangs parents arent ever even shown! i mean for a show where its canon that magic is genetic, they do a waaaayyyyyy better job at delivering the “anyone can be a hero” storyline than media that actually textually tells that story lmao

not only is the show about children, its also about lots of marginalised groups. all the characters are POC, toph is blind, katara is a girl (toph is obviously also a girl but her character doesnt really explore misogyny like katara ykwim?), sokka is just some guy even in the context of the magic system, even aang — the literal chosen one!!!! — is just a random kid who also happens to be the reincarnation of the most powerful spirit in the galaxy or whatever (thats a recurring theme of the show actually), and zuko ,who is the most nepo baby protagonist, isnt actually the prodigy of his family and is instead frequently upstaged by his little sister lol

like it would have been so easy to do a “and guess what the reason toph is such a great bender is because she’s secretly king bumi’s great niece!!!!!!” reveal, which is such a classic plot twist that tbh its barely a twist these days, but instead toph was a badass specifically because of the unique perspective she gained by being disabled and the way that allowed her to connect with the world around her ie the badgermoles — thats a way stronger story! the only relationship reveal we get (other than i guess aang learning he’s the avatar which kind of maybe counts??) is zuko learning he’s related to roku which. i mean he was already a nepo baby so it doesnt detract from his agency really and in fact reinforces his recurring “there are two wolves” conflict, which up to that point was mostly shown through azula and iroh (think his ba sing se fever dream wherein there were two dragons inside him voiced by azula and iroh respectively one advocating good the other evil, foreshadowing the final conflict of the season where he must choose between azula and iroh and he backslides in his moral arc by choosing azula which is a really cool narrative choice that tbh now that im thinking about it i probably should have made this tangent its own post but we’re here now ig)

also i was thinking about how bending is genetic but also skips generations (neither kya nor hakoda is a bender, and we dont know of any grandparent other than gran gran, who is a nonbender, and i think its a dominant gene bc ursa wasnt a bender to my knowledge but zuko and azula are, so probably neither kya nor hakoda had bender parents, but obviously katara is a bender, but sokka isnt, plus there were identical twins in the volcano episode where only one was a bender which does confuse me scientifically but i dropped science so whatever) and bending is shown as common enough that probably everyone has atleast one ancestor who is a bender so tbh it sort of circles back to being random lol

originally? it started as vocaloid series, as in a story told thrusongs, then it had a manga adaptation, anime and novels. they all vary a lil bit with consistency tho tell the same story. and that is because… each media represents a “route” the characters go through. yep. it’s a “time reset” kinda story! kagepro its what i like to call a clump story. just a bunch of stories put together. u take longer delving into each character's backstory rather than the actual main plot ig?? like, knowing everyone's backgrounds Builds the present story. it is difficult to explain 1 thing without explaining another and so on..

if you want to start somewhere I recommend listening to the songs in order, many have very cool music videos also the songs are VERY VERY GOOD.

the manga i recommend up until volume 4 chapter 18. after that it gets TOO confusing because it goes into a route thats only explored in this adaptation, while its kinda important if u REALLY wanna jump into the world of kagepro, it is VERY VERY confusing at first, like a LOT happens and differs significantly from the regular routes(and as an old fan i really was not into it that much but that’s aside the point) but the manga in the first 4 volumes at least puts the beginning more in perspective

and only then id recommend watching the anime cuz without all this the anime is VERY confusing lol the novels are good but theyre wholeass BOOKS yknow. there are 8 so it is not beginner friendly if u rly dont wanna tap into it lol even some seasoned fans haven't read them. that’s my casual kagepro fan guide. but.....

but if in the end u rly become interested and u end up reading them... hey, ur here already, and i know i told u not to finish the manga but if u just read 8 light novels i guess ur ok with reading 9 more volumes of manga!!!! and then... i’d watch the anime? because the anime, believe it or not, as shitty and as ugly as it is... possesses the GOOD ending. and bc u read 8 novels, 13 manga volumes and listened to like 5 song albums, u can watch and actually know what’s going on and u are very happy at the end bc after ALL THAT u get to see the good ending.

BY THE WAY AS FOR THE PLOT... as i said, a clump story. kagerou project isn't only difficult to understand when it comes to all its different medias, the story ITSELF is as convoluted as it comes! hurray! but the basics is, shintaro kisaragi is a shut in ever since his hs best friend ayano tateyama committed suicide. he goes out for the first time in 2 years and runs into some funny quirky people who might've been involved in ayano's life, who in return was involved in fun quirky sci-fi shit about..wow? superpowers?! maybe her suicide wasnt driven by depression but by....(SPOILER CUT)? or was it? join shintaros man angst as he learns about everything ayano left behind! you'll cry! its a REALLY sad story! with lovely characters such as:

kido kano and seto! ayano's little siblings! kido is the leader. of what? good question! kano is gay and hates shintaros guts. seto? he has jobs and better things to do. he likes dogs.

momo! shintaros little sister! she is.. a famous idol?! and... DEPRESSED?!

mary! token cute character who is...relevant to the plot!? and even...A PLOT POINT!?!

hibiya! a 12 year old who ended up here for some reason! also equally as important depending on the route, his best friend hiyori! dont worry about it. 

konoha! we dont know who this guy is. well. we do. but thats a spoiler so dont tell!!!!

and of course our lovely deuteragonist, ene!! the funny little AI living in shintaros phone who TOTALLY didnt use to be human and has a sob story of her own and totally isnt related to the mystery of konohas existence. kagepro!! call now!! ITS AWFUL IN HERE!

okay so like ima try to be the most chill and unbiased with this review— i read some others that brought up good points that i didnt see at first, so now thats what ima try to do!

-the biggest fan complaint, kenlynn/cool kids/brookji:

alot of fans are super pissed abt this, and at first it didnt make sense but now i can kindaaa? understand it. my general take is that s1 & s2 the kids were just vibin and surviving, getting to know each other and etc. i think kenji started to have a crush on brook esp in s3, since they were paired up/talked a lot (when brook fought with darius, when sammy got posioned, when darius split up with the group to get ben when leaving the island and brook was worried) so they were kinda getting closer and comfotrable with each other already. and like kenji even confirmed in s4, he realized his feelings for brook when she got taken away, hence his fight with darius (i imagine he was super confused n frustrated abt it.. poor boy). and personally at the end of s3 when kenji got mad, i did find that overprotectiveness weird and was kinda thinking it was bc he liked her! so overall the crush reveal was not a surprise, but i was more surprise that it actually happened! as for brooklyn i think her feelings for kenji were never really developed until they got closer in s4; kenji being a doof and possibly his trueself? and realizing how alike they were made her start to like him a bit? and then he semi-admitted he liked her so she got super confused as well (maybe bc she didnt know if it was platonic or romantic). then yasmina basically opened her eyes, and i think after that brooklyn was thinkin a lot, and spending even more time with kenji she realized she liked him as well...

i admit they couldve done better to show brooklyns development into liking kenji in previous seasons, bc tbh i see both darius and brooklyn being equally super chill with everyone (tho im biased for benrius!).

i think bc the season went by super fast unlike previous seasons, it made kenlynn develop fast as well so it didn't look that well written. tbh even i myself was supperrr shocked that they actually made it bf-gf official! i even wouldve been fine with just confirmed crushes this season, but the ship is probably gonna go through it next season (esp considering the plot twist in the end of the last episode... someone protect kenji pls)

but overall, ship it or not, i still dont think fans should be too angry and crazy at kenlynn shippers or the writers etc. like no one knows where this is gonna go, so we'll just have to wait and see. shouldn't we just enjoy it while it lasts? i think kenji and brooklyn need some type of break from the chaos, and if they wanna be together thats fine by me. same for the other kids! i hope if theyre getting romance arcs that itd be similar screentime as kenlynn and maybe even better developed (i still think yasammy is gonna be the finale ship idk..)

one thing i do wish now is that their charas this season werent too much revolved around each other, but ig thats how it goes! at least we learned more abt them both anyway (theyre both lonely and sheltered kids... also, BROOKLYNN HAS DADS!) and yes im ignoring we still dont have a brooklynn last name reveal smh...

as for the age thing.. idk im not bothered tbh. its like what, a 2 year difference? so thats fine by me, i can see it realistically (if it were any bigger i would def understand the isssue). i dont think the writers are intending anything sus for that or anything— as long as these kids are all kids and just vibin im fine with that. kids have crushes, no biggie.

overall not a surprise to me or a bother! next.

-sammy:

i feel like her character is always the same throughout the seasons so i always found her boring and wanted the crew to work on her. this season was alright! its good they didnt let her issue with her fam die down (tbh i almost forgot thats why she came to the camp), her anger moment, although a lil reckless, made sense esp since we already know her fam obvi means the world to her. i liked her realization with the spinoceratops¿ (angel n rebel) was bc of her and her development from pity to saving them was good! still wish they couldve showed more yasammy, but slow and steady wins the race ig! the deal with mantahcorp (idk if thats how u spell it oops) got even bigger now bc of kenjis dad and im scared for her bestie relationship with kenji 😭 im scared for that whole drama in general but with sammy and her fam as a victim... send help to my kids pls!

-yasmina:

a lot of people send she was so out of character this season (mainly with the kenlynn thing) but tbh? i think this version of her is her real self. even tho she was more colder in previous seasons, we're not new to yasmina being a super supportive friend otherwise. and like she said, sammy is the one who brought out those feelings! i really liked this mischeavous side of her, and ben friendzoning her was the funniest thing!

im superrr pleased with the whole PTSD thing. like most kids shows dont take that trauma seriously and just shove it aside. but not jwcc, and thats prob why im so attached to the show is bc they arent afraid to commit (a kids show where people actually die?? coming after my own heart i see...)!!

i know we prob shouldve had more experiences from the other camp fam, but maybe its good they made this a mainly yasmina thing bc we're so used to seeing her be strong for the team. weak yaz make me weak myself... let her sleep pls.

-ben:

bens whole finding out his identity arc was pretty much perfect. im glad they brought up how panicked he was bc he knew isla nublar so well but now he knew nothing and felt like he was reverting back to scared-ben... but we all know that ben is just ben now! i hope he can get more actual moments with the others bc hes been so independent all these seasons (aromantic king maybe..?)!! a lot of fans like him but tbh /dont kill me/ so far he was always my least fav kid out of the crew.. but i did like him more with his whole s3 thing with darius! so maybe just having him spend time with the others and being himself is the key!! (also more benrius moments pls.. theyre such the mom n dad of the group idc what yall say!!) and his ptsd with the pterodactyl or whatev things? it hurted but im happy he was able to fight back this time!!

-darius:

i didnt get fans complaint with his arc this season at first but after reading some reviews, now i do a bit! now in weirded out as to why darius has like 0 trauma.. maybe its bc he loves dinos so much that overall it doesnt bother him? esp bc dinos are what connects him to his dad the most and etc... and i saw people talk abt him being super leader-y this season but i didnt see much of a difference? he was always the one everyone looked to for answers so i wasnt surprised that he made his own decisions again— everyone still trusts him and knew what he chose was the right thing to do. but they didnt tell him abt their ptsd so obviously darius wouldnt know abt it bc all of their bonds are so strong that i think darius trusted them to tell him anything (but since they didnt he was obv blinded to their true feelings??). and surprisingly a lot of fans seemed to think he was out of character or smth when choosing the phone over the dinos? but i think it was good development bc it showed that even tho he loves dinos to death, he would still do anything for his friends (esp bc they told him they had ptsd). im glad in how he handled it!

one thing i agree on with others is that he definitely deserved some more screentime. mainly with the other kids, and less solo screentime, like the other seasons!... yes i admit, kenlynn and kenji did overshadow him a lot, but at least i believe its to build up the plot twist in the end for kenji and onto the next season (maybe theyre giving each kid arcs? and s1 was mainly darius's? idk tbh!)

i loved how darius handled kash— who i hate and pls let big eatie eat him already...

darius is just so smart and damn im jealous! that kid can think fast and improvise like breathing, no surprise he's the leader (and brooklyn being second in command to the group was very interesting).

-mae was a fine character! i like how quirky she is, and finally not an evil or dead adult 😭 but it was funny how even so she still got injured and was out of commission the whole time... can someone just save my kids and not die, pls theyre too traumatized!! (ps where are the camp counselors who i 100% forgot their names— are the gonna come back or naw...)

-i agree with others, kash is a weak villain. but tbh i feel like he was that annoying and ridiculous to just blind us with the ep11 plot twist aka the REAL villain¿ (i keep mentioning this but ill talk abt it soon i swear). the robots were boring i do admit as well, maybe it wouldve been better if they were like.. dino robots? to help with the island but also be disguised with the other dinos? idk tbh!

-darius's brother who i forget his name... im rootin for him obv! maybe he'll get the camp counselors to help him out and they'll slowburn their way to help the kids? i hope we get more of the mainland stuff bc like.. is no one worried that 6 kids are still missing from the island??! like maybe they do think theyre dead after all (which angsty thats so rude im cryin) but is there like really nothing they can do? get chris pratt on the case already!!!

-and lastly? i think? EP 11/SEASON ENDING. how dare you. how dare you!!! like ive seen other peoole say that they guessed it, but i legit had 0 clue bc i literally never think abt the adult characters period.. BUT HOW DARE YOU ANYWAY!! so ya.. kenjis dad— i can't even say it. I WAS NOT SEEING THAT. like even rewatching that episode i still gasp like ive never seen it bc its so unreal to me... its so good. it pretty much made up whatever complaints i had before! first "appearance" i literally was like who tf is 'daniel' (bc the subs) and i thought it wouldve been a character they already introduced previously! but ig technically they have (even tho i didnt know his connection to kenji until he literally said dad..).

im super hyped for the next season esp bc of this.. LIKE KENJI IS GONNA GO THROUGH IT! who he'll have to choose, the dino and camp fam or his actual dad... and again sammys reaction? i am not ready. like maybe theyll handle it easy and let mrkon have a change of heart bc of his son, but i also really want them to spice it up and make him a serious villain? (ik whats wrong with me) but like consider the contrast itll be compared to darius's dad... like darius and kenji can have a real test of their bond bc of this... and yes i also feel like this will test kenlynn, bc just kenjis dad being here just changes the whole game in general. like will kenji be reverted back to his selfish n spoiled ways and it'll cause a rift between him and brook/campfam?? theres too many questions and possibilities... WHAT IS GONNA HAPPEN?? im so worried..

and i know kenji is a fan favorite, so i wish people were freaking out more over this than ships...

- i think he would have some acne scars on his cheeks from highschool (puberty am i right 🙄😤⁉️) and thats one of the reasons why he has a beard, just to make it hard to see

- zeke needs to be in complete darkness to sleep but needs to have a room as bright as possible to be productive. so every morning after he stretches and gets out of bed hes immediately opening his curtains and letting light into the room because "its the only way he'll actually get ready"

- if he was ever to pop the question he'd do it alone at a very mundane time, just like "wow this is the moment" and ask you to marry him. doesnt matter if he has a ring or not, hes ready, and he realizes this, and he finds the beauty in just doing something so simple with you. hes content and happy, and you make him see life in things he hasnt before, and hes ready for the commitment that comes with marriage, and hes in love with you.

Shuichi:

•He would be very interested, knowing that he’s the ultimate detective he would want to know a lot more

•If you haven’t seen my last post, I did one where Nagito and Hajime reacted to the reader with the same ability, so go read it! Anyways, my point is that he would act like Hajime, asking sophisticated questions

•When Kaede dies, he would basically beg you to make her come back but you weren’t really able to do that

•Now he pretty much spends his free time trailing behind you, trying to learn more about your ultimate

•Asking common questions like “Can you change ANYTHING? Like, can you change the time right now? How does your body react to this ability?”

•People literally had to push him away from you at some point

•But nah you guys are basically best friends

•Unless you don’t want to be his friend, it’s a one-sided relationship but he doesn’t have to know ;)

Kokichi:

•Like Shuichi and Nagito, he would be really interested?? Like not even as a joke, he would actually think it’s cool

•He doesn’t want to show it though so he would act like your ultimate is dumb

•“THATS your ultimate? Pfft, that’s WAY lamer than… than… Anyways, what can you even do? Erase me from existence? Hahaha! Haha… ha.”

•He wouldn’t trail around you like Shuichi, but would constantly ask you to do things for him

•“Hey, so you wanna do something for me, the ultimate supreme leader? Yeah? Okay, so I want you to…”

•Tbh he’s more chill than Shuichi, he doesn’t really show his true interest much so don’t expect your conversations to get any farther than “Can you kill Monokuma?”

Maki:

•She’s not gonna really talk to you until she needs something from you

•So basically she doesn’t care?

•But once you’re able to explain your ultimate to her she gets a bit more interested

•And she would start talking to you more who knows

•After Kaito’s death, expect to see her a lot more

•Either begging you to revive him (like Shuichi), or just silently standing by your side

•If you both develop a good relationship then your basically her second option? She’s gonna be with you more than people would see her with others

•But again, that doesn’t mean that you’re like, besties or whatever. She still has her boundaries and deems herself as a “hazard”? She’s afraid she’ll get too attached to you and you’ll die ig

•Then she can’t use you for your ultimate anymore

Kaede:

•Wow, okay

•She’s hyped to be in the same killing game as you

•No like seriously she’s super interested in your ultimate

•Sometimes she would invite you to the music room just so you can talk, mostly about your ultimate while she practices the piano

•And if you play the violin as well she would be even more interested

•Ahem, but back to the reality warping

•When Rantaro dies, she might invite you to help investigate since she thinks you would be a great help

•So does Shuichi, so now you’re basically stuck with them

•While investigating, she would ask you to just do basic things that don’t really involve your ability

•But she might sneak in a few “Do you think you can bring him back so we could ask him?” Since that’s all you can really do right now

•But then you’d have to explain that it doesn’t work like that
