ahhhhhhhhhhhhh I just had a flash-back to 2 years ago when I make a jokey post about how Pangur was unhappy about her new diet (because the vet had told me she was overweight & had given a calculation based on her ideal body weight of what I should actually be feeding her), which resulted in months of harassment and threats to ‘steal’ her or report me to the authorities for ‘starving’ a cat that spilled over onto other websites after picking up steam on Tumblr, because they didn’t realize Orientals are the cat equivalent of greyhounds and will look slim with pronounced cheekbones regardless of their actual weight💀

and I remember privately replying to one of the people making the abuse accusations to say “hi, she’s an Oriental Longhair which are naturally whip-thin, and this diet was ordered/directed by a vet” only to have them go “haha nice try, I know you’re just doing damage control”, block me, and then step up the accusations.

I’m happy nothing like that has happened recently, because Jesus Christ that stuff is stressful.

i wish more people were aware the vast majority of crisis lines have the power to call the police and will call the police on you if you express that you’re suicidal because i see crisis lines being spread all the time in leftist spaces but most people don’t add the information about police and i think that can be really dangerous. it’s fucked up that crisis lines can do that and i really fucking hate it and i wish that it was more widespread knowledge so that people could make informed choices about the resources they access.
