"and this here is one of our specialties," the vineyard tour guide explained as he poured samples for both you and your boyfriend jiwoong. "it's a dry cider, so it's got a bit more of a refreshing taste, much more similar to an apple wine."

jiwoong swirled the cider in his glass for a moment before taking a sip, a pleasant expression crossing his face at the taste, urging you to try it as well. as the drink passed your lips, you couldn't help the sour expression as the bitter liquid hit your tongue. "not a fan?" jiwoong giggled at your childish palate, and you only shook your head.

"you like that?" you say in disbelief, "i feel like it's not as sweet." you pouted slightly, missing the previous sweet cider you had tried that was right up your alley. he couldn't help but smile and ruffle your hair. "i'll get you some of the sweet cider before we leave, yeah?" a smile spread across your face as you nodded.

you turned to the tour guide once again, "what's next?" the man chuckled at your eagerness to move on, watching jiwoong down the rest of his drink before moving on. the guide started to explain the next drink, describing it as a middle ground between the sweet and the dry ciders, and you found yourself being pleasantly surprised by the drink.

soon enough the two of you were walking out of the vineyard hand in hand, jiwoong laughing once again over your reaction to the more bitter drink. "listen okay, i just like sweet things." you jokingly huffed. "that's why you like me, right?" jiwoong smirked, earning a smack on the arm from you followed by a laugh, "yeah yeah, that's why i like you and the bottle of cider in the bag."

zhang hao ;

you don't remember choosing such a gory film for your movie night with your boyfriend hao. sure, you wanted something scary, even if both of you weren't the greatest with jumpscares, but it was that time of year. the leaves had started changing and so in your mind, it was halloween, and your movie choices had to reflect that.

that being said, not even 30 minutes into the movie and you had given up, opting to bury your head in your boyfriend's neck as he barely peaked through his fingers to see the screen. you tried to tune out the shrieks blaring through the speakers, focusing on the scent of your boyfriend's cologne, or the feeling of the new sweater he had just bought. but it was no use.

"i know i picked the movie but, can we please change it," you pouted, remote in hand. "don't have to tell me twice." hao chuckled, finally at ease now that the movie was paused. you scrolled through the selection of movies for a bit before settling on a fan favourite.

"the nightmare before christmas?" hao questioned, letting out a smile, "much better."you smiled back, finally getting comfy as you laid your head on his shoulder, readjusting the blanket that covered your legs. "i thought so too."

hao placed a small kiss on your temple as the movie started, letting his hand grab ahold of yours as the familiar tune of "this is halloween" played through the speakers, a much better alternative to the earlier screams.

truthfully, you didn't last long through the movie. the combination of the warmth radiating from your boyfriend as well as the cozy blanket covering you had knocked you out before the credits rolled, but you wouldn't have it any other way.

hanbin ;

"sung hanbin, where are you taking us?" you chuckled, eyes trained on the orange and red leaves surrounding you as you made your way further into the countryside. he only smiled, turning down the music on the radio before grabbing your hand as he kept his eyes on the road, "you'll see."

you simply shook your head at the vague nature of his response and looked back at the passing trees, humming along to the quiet radio. as curious as you were, you honestly wouldn't mind if hanbin had driven you around in circles, as long as you got to spend this time with him.

soon enough you had driven into a small town seemingly in the middle of a forest. the trees that surrounded the road had been cleared out and replaced with small business-lined streets and people walking their dogs in the chilly autumn weather. you couldn't help the questioning look on your face as he pulled into the parking lot of a small hole-in-the-wall coffee shop. "welcome, y/n" he smiled, opening the door for you, "to my very first barista job."

a smile quickly spread across your face as you connected the details of the small shop that you had heard about through hanbin's reminiscent stories. the small dent in the wall from where he had accidentally hit the wall with a piece of equipment he was moving, or the dusty chalkboard that he would get to draw the specials on every day. this was like a second home to the boy, and you could see why. the cozy atmosphere was more welcoming than you had expected.

"hanbin!" an older woman behind the counter called out, catching the attention of both of you as a wide smile spread across hanbin's face. "hi mrs. lee!" the older woman, who you now learned was the infamous mrs. lee, smiled at the two of you, "and who's this?" she inquired, "oh hi mrs. lee! i'm y/n" hanbin took your hand in his, "this is my lovely partner, i thought i'd show them my second home."

"well it's a pleasure to finally meet the person hanbin's been talking so kindly about." you smirked, turning to your now blushing boyfriend. "mrs. lee~" he playfully whined. "you talk about me?" a hint of curiosity laced your voice. he sighed, squeezing your hand, "can you blame me?"

matthew ;

"matthew?" you called out, faced with rows upon rows of fruit-bearing trees and no boyfriend to be seen. "matthew~" you dragged his name out, "where are you?" but alas, no response.

after a few moments of silence, you feel something hit your foot, glancing down you see that an apple had rolled and hit you. you chuckled as you picked up the fruit, your line of sight raising as you look down the row of trees to see your boyfriend standing there, holding in a laugh. "strike!" he yelled, jogging over to you with a basket full of bright red apples.

"you know i was almost worried about you for a second there." you playfully hit his arm, "you just disappeared." he let a sheepish smile pull across his face, "sorry 'bout that," he grabbed your hand with his free hand, leading you two down the path, "but what really could've happened, death by apples?" he chuckled, shaking his head.

"listen," you started, mindlessly swinging your interlocked hands, "i've seen the wizard of oz, apple trees can be brutal." you were stopped in your tracks as matthew planted his feet in one spot, pulling you in close. "well i'm right here my angel," he placed a kiss on your lips, a smile spreading across his lips in the process before pulling away, "and it's gonna take a lot more than a sentient apple tree to take me away from you."

you chuckled at the seriousness behind the rather silly sentence, "that's gotta be the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me, matthew." you let a chuckle escape your lips as you continued walking. "well you know," matthew let out a laugh of his own, "i'm quite the romantic."

taerae ;

bonfires were perfect this time of year, at least to you. the bright flame complimented the changing leaves so well, not to mention how nice the warmth was in the chilly fall nights. so you couldn't think of a better way to spend your evening than you were right now. you and your boyfriend taerae sat in chairs by the fire.

the two of you could talk for hours if given the chance, whether about something at work or a fond memory or really whatever came to mind. the conversations never seemed to lull. and right now, the topic of conversation was a song taerae had been working on that seemed to be stressing him out.

"can i hear what you have done?" you asked, smiling at the opportunity to hear your boyfriend's sweet voice. he nodded shyly, running inside to grab his guitar from the living room. after a few moments he had returned, guitar in one hand and a blanket in the other, handing the latter to you. "it's getting chilly," he smiled before sitting down and getting situated.

as he started strumming the first few chords, you found yourself swaying to the melody as he hummed the missing lyrics that had yet to be written. even in moments like this he still managed to sound angelic, and you found yourself getting lost in thought, wondering how you got so lucky.

"so that's all i've got," he let out a heavy sigh as he shook his head, putting the guitar down beside him. "all you've got?" you exclaimed, "taerae, you don't give yourself enough credit my. love."

he couldn't help but blush at the compliment, his hand quickly waving it off, "you're too kind, my dear. thank you"

ricky ;

after what felt like an eon of begging, you had finally convinced your boyfriend ricky to throw his ego to the side and come pick out a halloween costume with you. and you would be damned if you let this opportunity go to waste.

that is how the two of you ended up in the back of a spirit halloween, back to begging for your boyfriend to come out of the changing room. "it can't be that bad ricky, c'mon." you exclaimed, looking down at your outfit, the cop to his robber costume, though you hadn't seen his part yet as he paced in the closed off room.

"fine," he sighed, slowly opening the door, revealing his large frame covered in black and white stripes with a mask covering his eyes, looking like the robbers straight out of the sims 3. you stifled a laugh as you glanced over his figure. "my little criminal," you cooed, getting a scoff in return. "how is it fair that you look nice and i look like this." he let out a dry laugh at the situation.

"let's try the other one then!" you smiled, turning back to your changing room where one other costume stayed hung up. you couldn't help but smile as you looked at the bright pink outfit adorning your body in the mirror.

this time, you didn't have to beg ricky to reveal the outfit, finding him adjusting the shirt in the mirror outside the fitting rooms. "hey ken~" you dragged out, watching his face light up as he turned around at the sound of your voice. "hi barbie," he smiled, grabbing your hand to pull you in, standing next to him in front of the mirror.

"i think these are the ones." he exclaimed, and you couldn't help but nod in agreement, "the ken to my barbie."

gyuvin ;

if someone were to hear the situation going down between you and gyuvin right now, you were sure they'd assume someone was being killed, and in a way someone was, or rather something. two poor pumpkins sat on the table next to a bowl full of their insides, which gyuvin had now decided to grab a handful of.

"DON'T YOU DARE GYUVIN!" you shrieked, running around to the other side of the table, away from your boyfriend's pumpkin gut covered hands. "c'mon give me a hug!" he smiled, almost menacingly as he outstretched his hands to reach you from across the table, only narrowly missing you.

"keep you and your gross hands away from me," you laughed, though only half joking, "i don't want to smell like pumpkin for the rest of the year thank you." he only laughed as he placed the pumpkin bits back into the bowl on the table, sitting down to return to carving eumppappa's face into the pumpkin.

in a false sense of security you sat back down next to the boy, hopeful that you'd be able to finish your pumpkin in peace. but there was no such thing as peace with your boyfriend. in your focus on the carving in front of you, you failed to notice the way your boyfriend had gone eerily quiet, until you felt something be placed on your head. "a hat." gyuvin said simply, grinning ear to ear, hands covered in the contents of the bowl.

"kim gyuvin, you didn't" you carefully turned your head, trying not to knock off this new "hat" he had given you. he tried to keep a straight face at your cautious actions, "but i did." a laugh escaped his mouth as he picked up the pumpkin off of your head and putting it back in the bowl. "oh it's on." you mumbled, grabbing a handful yourself and mirroring his earlier actions, plopping it atop his head. and just like that, the night-long pumpkin war had begun.

gunwook ;

"y/n," gunwook smiled, tugging on your hand like a little kid, "let's go ride the ferris wheel!" you chuckled as you jogged to keep up with your boyfriend gunwook and his long legs. you two had spent all day running around the fair, trying new foods and petting cute animals, not to mention riding every ride you could imagine. but now the sun was setting and you were both winding down, so the ferris wheel sounded perfect right about now.

after waiting for a few minutes in line, you and gunwook finally got a seat in a bright purple basket. "i've had a really good day," gunwook smiled, grabbing your hand from across the basket. you took your eyes off the surrounding area, looking at your grinning boyfriend, mirroring a similar expression. "i did too wook, even if you totally cheated in the corn maze."

he shook his head, a laugh escaping his lips. "it's not my fault the corn was shorter than me! and besides," he paused, looking at you, "if i didn't, we never would've gotten out of there." he wasn't wrong. with your sense of direction, you would've been walking in circles for hours. "that's true," a comfortable silence came over you as you both admired the view below you.

"y/n look!" you turned back to the boy, a confused look on your face as you waited for him to continue. "we are stopped at the top!" both of you smiled from ear to ear, you had both hoped to get to stop at the top, but knew the chances were slim. yet here you were.

"aren't we lucky?" you exclaimed, taking in the setting sun and the way it lit up your boyfriend's skin. it only took a moment for gunwook to feel your eyes on him as he turned to you, a shy smile across his face before he leaned over, placing a soft kiss on your lips, keeping your faces close enough for you to hear his whisper.

"i really am lucky."

yujin ;

you and yujin weren't exactly the bravest people in the world, both having to be convinced to go to this haunted house in the first place. "it's fine guys, we will all be there together!" your friends had convinced you. you had almost thought for a moment that it wouldn't be so bad, that was until it was just you and yujin walking through the dark halls of this building.

you weren't sure how, but somehow early on, you and yujin had gotten separated from the rest of your friend group, and had been left to fend for yourselves. your false sense of hope quickly diminished as you heard the screams of other people up ahead.

"it;s fine yujinnie, we will just keep our heads down and blast through this, no big deal." you said, trying to convince yourself more so than him. "yeah, no big deal." he repeated, letting out a pathetic laugh as his eyes lowered to the ground in front of him. the plan was working until one of the "ghosts" had silently walked beside you, sticking their face in your line of sight. sure, you knew it was just makeup and prosthetics, but that didn't stop a scream from ripping from your throat and your hand instinctively grabbing yujin's.

yujin froze at the action, though you assumed it was just from the ghost appearing. what you didn't know was that your action had become the perfect distraction for yujin. no longer could he think about the creepy atmosphere or hear the screams of other people, his brain too focused on the feeling of your hand in his and the fact that at some point, you'd have to let go.

soon enough, like the light at the end of the tunnel, you both had found the exit, picking up your speed as you jogged to the glowing sign, dragging yujin along, hand in hand. once you had escaped the haunted house, you turned to the boy, wrapping him in a tight hug, "we did it!" you cheered, the boy joining you in the cheers.

"you made it!" your moment was interrupted by your friend's remark. "yeah and to no help of you," you joked, grabbing yujin's hand in yours again, "you can all thank yujin for letting me get out in one piece honestly." the statement caused the boy to flush a deep red, so much so that he didn't notice the way your cheeks mirrored his. maybe tonight hadn't been so bad.

Today, you and Jotaro are sharing a room, usually u have a room just for you but the hotel was almost full, so there were only two rooms available, Joseph and Avdol are in one and, obviously, you and Jotaro on the other. Unfortunately Kakyoin was still in the hospital due to the fight with N'Doul.

Also, you're feeling a little off, so is good to spend the night with someone in the room. Jotaro is not the talkative tipe, but still, you can say that you two get along well.

It was his turn to shower, you were the first. Already in your pajamas you hit the bed, you fall asleep very quick.

When Jotaro gets out of the shower he spots you all sweaty with a very bad expression for who is sleeping pacefully "Oi, wake up!" He shakes you a little until you're awake, by the look on your face it was not a good dream. He put his hand on your forehead "You've said earlyer that you was not feeling so good, right? Your face is hot, must be a fever" He doesn't say anything more before going to the bathroom again and returning with a wet towel, wich he gently places on your forehead "I'll bring you some medicine, don't get up" But before he could go you grab his wrist, you were clearly scared.

He sat by your side and waited for you to tell him what were you feeling and why were you so desperate. You told him about your nightmare while some little tears were falling down. When you end telling him about it you are a little afraid of what a man like him would think of you: afraid of a nightmare? Are you a kid now?

He puts his hand on your right cheek and wipe a tear with his thumb, you were suprised by his action, it was the last thing that you expected. While you were lost in your thoughs, he slowly approached you lips with his, he took his time, the kiss is slow, soft and yet passionate. Your heart skips a beat when he leaves your lips alone making you realize what just happened.

"Maybe with this you can have good dreams now" He leaves the room to get your medicines leaving you lost in the kiss that he just gave u. A little time pass and he is back, he gives u the medicine, a glass of water and wait for you to take it. When you're done he puts the glass on a table near by and lay beside you. With no futher explanation, he close his eyes "Good night"

You were paralized for a second, but then you lay dow with him and, a little automatically, take his hand, you can feel that this suprised him, but then a smile form on his face (and maybe a little blush too). You had good dreams that night.

Kakyoin

It was a beautiful morning, you and the crusaders are in the hotel, you would stay until the afternoon, then take a train to continue the journey to egypt.

After the brakfast, you decide to take a little time to relax, this trip is stressful and you barely have time do breath a little, so, at least until you all catch the train, you decided to calm your mind and body.

You took a book from the hotel shelf and headed down to the pool, what could be more peaceful? You sit by a little table with two chairs and a umbrella in it. The wind was refreshing and the sun was bright.

Some time passes and you hear a familiar voice from the chair next to yours: "Oh, i've already read that one! I can say that the plot is really good" You took a little jumpscare, you are so into the book that you haven't even heard him approaching. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you" Of all the boys, Kak was the closest to you, he was always very friendly.

The book was put aside, chatting with Kakyoin is awesome, especially cuz you two have the same taste for some stuff, so the chat flows very easly. In a certain poin of the conversation you mention a book that you've read once, it was he's favorite "Did you like it too? I'm glad, some people just hate all the cliché in this book" You told him that when you were younger you wanted to live those clichés that were always in books or movies, but now you understand that this all is just fictional.

"You think so?" You nod. He takes a moment and stares at you and then get up "W-What about i prove that you're wrong then? He is clearly shy, his ears are a little red, but his expression is serious, his hand reach yours by the small table, he intertwining his fingers with yours. He has a determined face with shine in his eyes.

His lips finally mets yours, they are soft. The kiss is a little hesitant at first, but then it turns out to be really sweet, gentle and lovely. When the kiss end his face is full red, even himsef can't believe he made this, but even with it, he manages to keep his composture "*ahem* I'm heading back inside to see if Mr.Joestar and the other need something before we leave, excuse me" His voice is a little low and he avoids looking into your eyes.

He doesn't have talked to you since then, until you were all on the train in this afternoon. Kakyoin sat by your side still avoiding your eyes "Listen, i just wanted to apologize for earlier, i-" Before he can say anything more you hug him. You can feel his face turning red, he is hesitant to hug you back but then his arms slowly rest over you "So you feel that way too, huh?". You don't even have to see his face to tell that he is smiling.

Polnareff

He was the one who had to go buy some stuff for the group in a market near by the hotel that all of you are in for today.

We all know very well what happens when Pol is alone around the town, so your task is to go shopping with him today, just in case.

Obviously he's all happy that you're coming with him! All the shopping process is full of silly jokes and laughs, he is the best at making you laugh and go for a bad mood to a really good one. Once he told you that he likes ur smile.

You two are already in the hotel hall, when those silly moments of joy with him and the others sudenly crosses your mind...It can end at any moment, after all, you and the crusaders are all targets of skilled and powerfull stand users. You really doesn't want to lose them...

Seems like Polnareff sense your worry, after all, he is the crusader who most spend time and talk with you, he already knows you very well...He hold your hands and get closer: "Chéri, whatever you're worried about, you can always count on your knight in shining armor!" His tone is funny and he's with a silly face on, clearly trying to make you laugh. It is strange to see such a buff man like this.

"And you know? You were much more prettier this morning" When you're about to say something he kisses you, is fast, but gently and sweet enough "Because you were smiling, mon amour"

You're static in the same place, that was very sudenly and now you don't know what to think-

When you come back to your mind you can see he running away with a smile, u can almost feel that all this kiss thing was planned...Well, who cares, after all, now you're smiling too.

Avdol

You and your friends are already in Egypt, the end is finally forming...It's already night and there is no hotel neither a city near by, you all decide to camp for tonight.

Polnareff and Jotaro are putting the tends up, Joseph and Kakyoin are cheking the food and water for the dinner and you and Avdol are responsible for setting up the bonfire. There are some papers in your stuff that u don't mind burning, so let's go.

You two are sit side by side, Avdol already set the fire and you are throwing some papers to keep it-"Hmm...This doesn't seems to be righ-OUCH!" Polnareff was in the ground with the whole tend on top of him, the noise was more loud than you could imagine.

Kakyoin is the fisrt who breaks the silence "Oh my god HAHAHA- How can you-HAHA *ahem* I-I mean, are you okay?" Kak's still giggling while offering his hand to help Pol to get up but he just pull the cherry boy to the groung too "You're laughing at what, huh? You can't even stand-" Before Polnareff could end the phrase a pillow hit his face "Oh no, now you asked for it!" And like that, a pillow fight starts, it doesn't take too long for Jotaro and Joseph get involved too.

You and Avdol can't help but laugh at all this situation: "Everyone was so stressed out about what we gonna face...Is really good to see that a simple moment like that can bring up smiles, isn't it?" He have a soft smile on his face.

You two keep talking while laughter echoes in the background, the mood is very light and warm, especially 'cause Avdol is beside you, is very easy for you to feel comfortable around him, even if he was a little intimidating at first.

Suddenly you spot a picture of you and your family behind some of your papers. In this moments the laughs seems to fade and you stop. It can't be helped, you just left whitout futher explanation and maybe never come back to they. You miss your family and worry about them.

it's almost instantly that Avdol notices your sad expression and the forming tears "Hey..." The tone of his voice is calm, but a little sad...He gentle ups your head in his direction by the chin and place a soft, warm and, especially, comforting kiss in your lips. Slowly, he distances his lips from yours keeping your chin up "I can't make the happy moments last forever neither the sad ones go away, but i really want to make you happy in all of them" His words are like honey and the look on his face is soft.

When you're opening you mouth to tell him about your feelings a pillow hits Avdol. Obviously the pillow fight won't end anytime soon, but that's okay, 'cause this moments are priceless, especially with this man by your side.

Joseph

It is a pretty calm day, you and Joseph are in the town, there is not a particular reason, he just felt like having a little time alone with you, since you joined the crusaders he was very gentle and friendly with you, he says that talking and be around you is calming, after all, you and the crusaders already faced several powerful enemies and went through really stressful situations.

Your eyes spoted the window of a bakery, the good looking cakes took your attention and for a little second you stop to see them, that's when Joseph notices that you stoped waking beside him and come back to see what are tou looking at "Oh, do you want some? They look very yummy" Before you could refuse (cuz he already have spend money asf on this trip) he completes: "To be honest i was really wanting to eat something sweet these days...Cmon, let's get inside" And practically drags you inside.

There are a lot of goodies that make you eyes sparkle, they seem divine! You look for Joseph to ask what is he getting, but he is already with a bunch of food in a outdoor table waving at you.

The first one he wanted you to eat was the cake that you saw in the window; it was a strawberry cake with whippedcream and a really pretty chocolate decoration. He took a plate and cut a slice for you and him, he already took a bite. When you were reaching for yours, he stoppped you. "Now, close your eyes and say 'aaah'" You roll your eyes, but that's okay, he's with a big smile, he is happy! You're definitelly not gonna ruin this moment!

With you eyes closed you feel the cake in your mouth, so you close it, but then something soft reach your lips.

You open your eyes just to see Joseph kissing you, his lips taste like strawberry by the cake he ate. The kiss is very tender. He is with a big smile "The sweetest, isn't it?" He has a little of a joke tone in his words.

Then during class some kids decided to be very loud, and as he was about to collar them crewel had intervened, which would he fine and dandy if crewel hadn't scolded him for acting so hastily. Then to top it all off he hadn't seen you all day, come to think of it he hasn't seen a couple familiar people today. He just wanted to see you and have tea but nooooo your were making him go all the way to ramshackle, hell have to scold you for not even sending him a text.

After a couple soft knocks with no answer, he was now pounding on the door. What on earth could you be doing?! As he was busy pounding on the door he heard laughter coming from that ugly run down garden you never got around to fixing, he should really get you some help with that, hell call it mandatory charity work. Chuckling at the thought he made his way to the garden, stepping over stray vines and thorns as he was walking.

What he saw next made his heart skip a beat, you had made a little clearing in the garden and had set up a couple mats, and right now we're grabbing a first year but the hands and guiding him through steps, was this some mating call? Several more students were observing you two, seeming to be paying lots of attention.

"And that's the Waltz! I hope you guys actually learned something that time! Now if you need help ask me but for now buddy up and get to practicing!" You said, dusting off your hands, to which the first year you were dancing with made a small scoffing noise at. You turned around and was jumpscared at the sight of riddle with his arms crossed.

"Is there a reason that you all have skipped classes today?" Riddle said, tapping his foot.

"Uhhh yeah? Crowley gave us special permission to practice as long as we got permission from the teachers? Riddle I told you about this..." You replied snarkily, crossing your arms in a mockery of him.

Riddle blue screened, oh my sevens you did tell him about that.

"Oh sevens you did tell me last week, I'm so sorry, but why are you doing this again? And what is the Waltz?" Riddle facepalmed and glanced up through his fingers.

"The dance is in like a month and these goons didn't know how to dance, so I offered to teach them, and the Waltz is like...the oldest ballroom dance back home," You threw up a hand and waved it around a little bit back towards the students, who were still struggling.

"MIND YOUR POSTURE!" You softly reminded them, turning back to Riddle.

"Is there something you needed?"

Riddle got an idea, "would you mind terribly... To teach me?"

"Oh definitely come here!" You grabbed his hands and spun him to the middle of the clearing. "you're pretty light, step on my toes and I'll demonstrate first and fore most,"

Riddles protest at him being light died on his tongue as you picked him up and settled his feet on top of yours, pulling his tight against your body.

"Hang on," was the only warning before you started going through the steps, Riddle having a mini heart attack at first.

"Y-youre really good at this," Riddle blushed, a very deep red mind you, you wanted to get a picture if you hadn't of been doing this.

And that's how the rest of the day went, you occasionally guiding another student through the dance and gently correcting their posture and footing, while you and riddle would take turns leading, he was a very fast learner you have to give him that.

I reblog a lot of art, comics, and memes. I like to interpret canon by analysing specific choices on a timeline based on the end outcome. Basically that means I believe a character is canonically horrible, nice, cute, a killer, a saviour, etc. all simutaneously. If you have a take, I probably have evidence to support it even if I don't like it LMAO

My favourite character is Connor because he (apart from Hank) is the only character with strong internal conflict (and I go feral over characters with internal conflict). I enjoy Rose and Adam's interpersonal conflicts with each other, I love Hank and Connor's interpersonal conflict (probably for the same reasons as everyone else: it's funny af), and I found the relationship development between North and Markus rushed and disappointing.

I don't really hardcore romantic-ship anything, but I enjoy a bit of simarkus, and mainly reed900. Reed900 is so, so horrible that it makes me laugh. Make android-racist kiss the upgraded version of the android he hates most. A well-deserved punishment lmaooooo 💀 Also I love the fanon dynamics it's too good.

I like to ship Hank and Connor as father and son because that's such a vibe to me!!! Most of the time, hankcon makes me uncomfortable because of this, but I'm vibing and it's okay if you like to interpret their relationship the romantic way. (Multiple timeline brain, after all^.) I keep the hankcon hashtag hidden but sometimes I sneak a peak hoping it's a funny comic alskdhskjdhd I used to get jumpscared by hankcon because I interpret them as father and son, but nowadays I look at it and go "ah yes, not My timeline" and travel back through the wormhole whence I came 🥴 I can still appreciate some of the art tho!! Btw I'm chill if you tag my some of my stuff as hankcon I don't care 💅

I like to see the RKs as brothers in one universe, but I don't mind the RK ships in another universe. These ships are like a true neutral for me, but the brothers is preferred :) I think I just like family dynamics lmao

I dislike the main fanon interpretations of Sixty, but I do love the memes of him being a dumbass. I like memes of any character being a dumbass. It makes my dumb ass feel less of a dumb. Also it's funny

I REALLY love meta and analysis. I soak that up like a sponge. I love when people throw essays at me or a ramble comes across my feed. I love it so much. Analyse the symbolism!!! Do it do it!!! I will lick the screen like an RK800 I don't care I am Normal about proper good analysis.

I don't really read much fic and if I say I'm going to read something, give me about 1 business month. (I'm not exaggerating I'm so sorry.) I'm more of a content creator than consumer, so I spend my free time making stuff and then I consume when my brain needs to chill out or the guilt gets too strong.

End of the Year 2023: Pre-2023 Good Games

Now we're talking, it's time for good games. As with previous years I decided on separate lists to talk about games that came out before 2023 and those that came out during the year itself. I agonized over this list. Hope you enjoy it

10: Diablo III

In the meh games list I mentioned that I'm not a fan of Diablo III. In fact for the longest time I was fairly cold on this game and really disliked it. There's something to Diablo III however, every few months since finishing the Reaper of Souls expansion way back in 2014 that kept the game popping up in my mind. You should play it again, it would say. Roll a new character, it's probably better than you remember. Then I would inevitably try it again, play a few hours and then just sort of peter off it. Perhaps it's simply because of the sheer ineptitude of Immortal, and my complete and utter lack of caring for Diablo 4 that made my most recent playing Diablo III feel so much more fun. I think enough time has passed that I can freely admit to enjoying this game for the most part. I just never go out of my way to play it, but it'll probably happen again that I'll be doing whatever and the urge to play it will occur

09: Doom 3

It's something of the black sheep of the Doom franchise, but I recall quite enjoying the games when I played them spur of the moment this year. A lot of people bemoan the fact that they just made Doom 3 a horror game, but I'm not so sure I agree with that assessment. Sure it has spooky lighting, and impenetrable darkness, but you're never really put into a less empowered state compared to the original Dooms. You're never starved for ammo, and except for the odd jumpscare there's never anything really scary that happens in the game. More so in the Resurrection of Evil expansion, where they give you the super shotgun. It's slower, and more methodical than the other Doom games, but I really don't feel it's any lesser as a result. It's truly unfortunate there's no way to really get the original versions of Doom 3 an Resurrection of Evil outside of looking in nefarious places, because I played the BFG Edition as well as the original Doom 3 and it made me feel physically ill. The originals are surprisingly forward thinking made games because it's wild to me a game from 2004 has support for a 1080p resolution.

08: Higanbana no Saku Yoru Ni (The Unforgiving Flowers Blossom in the Dead of Night)

A delightful horror themed visual novel that I freely admit I never would have ever heard of if not for Umineko. It's more of a straightforward horror tale than a Umineko because this is about the local ghosts and monsters that haunt a school. I haven't finished the second of the two games, but I did quite like the stories in The First Night. Well worth checking out if you want to see some of Ryukishi07's lesser known works.

07: The Witcher II

A lot more competently put together than the original Witcher. It's also much more action focused compared to the original. I kind of miss the different fighting stances that were in the first Witcher game, but I can understand that the series needs to undergo some streamlining as they become a more cross-platform series. It's a fine story as well, where it seems to be pulling from more contemporary fantasy stories of the time like your Game of Thrones with all of its fantasy political intrigue. But it also includes troll fart jokes, so it still remembers some of its origins as well. One of the only things I didn't really like in this game was the inclusion of the odd Quick Time Event. There's not a particular lot of them, but they just felt weirdly out of place.

06: Dragon Age II

I think it handled the transition from traditional CRPG to a more action focused one rather well honestly. It's not the deepest combat in the world, but I never really had any particular complaint with how it was implemented. I liked the time skips in the story as well, jumping to more important parts of Hawkes' life rather than meander and get bogged down in the weeds of showing their entire time in Kirkwall. A fine enough story, even though its attempts to make the final endgame events bigger than previous plot points just fall flat on its face. It was fun seeing the fantasy RPG equivalent to a Like a Dragon game.

05: Might and Magic X: Legacy

I don't know a thing about the Might and Magic series. I know one of the strategy spinoffs is regarded as the absolute pinnacle of the genre, but as far as the mainline ones go I know nothing. That being said however I did quite like the first person dungeon crawling and combat here in MMX. It's nothing groundbreaking, and I doubt it was anything particuarly special when it came out nearly a decade ago in 2014. I appreciate that the game is more than willing to let you screw up making your party and going in with a "suboptimal" team. Rather than hold your hand and tell you which classes to bring or how to level them. I wish Ubisoft would let some developers make another one of these because I enjoy these lower budget RPGs that aren't these massive open world fiascos. Also you could make bank by upsetting the crowd who cries about ruining beloved franchises by making new entries in older series. But really I just greatly enjoy this type of RPG, and I would love to see more of them. I don't know if it will save Ubisoft from their impending implosion, but I would love to see them take chances on this type of game again rather than see them put out another big open world game that takes a hundred hours to finish.

04: Bravely Default II

With series like the Bravely Default series I usually try to play the games in release order. I know developers go to great pains to make it so you can follow a narrative for a game without having played every single entry prior to it. Regardless I try to play the first entries first. Sometimes this is a double edged sword because who's got time to play the eight or so entries before you play Ys VIII? Other times you got two entries, Bravely Default and Bravely Second. But here's the thing, while I played Bravely D 1 way back on the 3DS I know I never actually finished it, and I never touched Bravely Second. But towards the end of December 2022 I decided what the hey, I'll play Bravely Default 2 and just try to figure it out from there. This game was an utter delight to play, something about the turn based combat, good story, and charming visuals just combined to make this game a real treat for me. Even when I was going out of my way to suck the fun out of the game by grinding up the job levels I was having a heck of a good time. While I enjoy the story that's not what kept bringing me back to the game. I kept coming back to it just for the sheer enjoyment of playing the actual game. A novel concept! Bravely Default II was just an immensely enjoyable game and I highly recommend it to those who enjoy turn-based RPGs.

03: Potato Flowers in Full Bloom

This is as late an entry as one could possibly get. I went into this completely blind and I came away absolutely stunned. This is a great turn-based dungeon crawler RPG that I cannot recommend highly enough. It's clearly done by people who have a great love for the DRPGs but it isn't so bogged down with the ideas of what a "hardcore" DRPG should be that it loses itself in the fine details. Rather than get super in depth with the challenge one would find in a Wizardry Potato Flowers just focuses on a superlative gameplay loop that is just extremely enjoyable to play.

02: Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire

It seemed like a lock way back at the start of the year. Sure Bravely Default 2 was a sheer delight, but it couldn't match Deadfire. The combat, the look, the storyline, everthing was just such a marked improvement over the basic perfection I felt playing Pillars of Eternity 1.

01: Umineko: When the Seagulls Cry

But something came along in May that just swept the legs out from under it. There has not been an experience that has just taken up permanent residence in my head since finishing it. I went into Umineko knowing basically nothing, and by the time I finished it my mind just kept going over it again and again thinking about the characters, and the story, just replaying and rethinking events over and over again. Just a masterfully crafted narrative, and a killer soundtrack to boot.

01: Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire

But the thing about games is that there's more to them than just the story, the gameplay also matters. The short of it is that Pillars of Eternity II quite handily beats Umineko on the gameplay front. Plus, I really don't want to downplay the story of PIllars II because it stands strongly in my memory as one of the most superbly written stories I have ever experienced in any RPG, much less games in general.

01: Umineko: When They Cry

But the story contained within the one hundred and twenty hours worth of Umineko is without hyperbole some of the best written I have had the pleasure to experience. Just some of the most astonishingly well-written character I have ever seen in any medium. Such dedication to the crafting of some of the most vile duplicitous bastards you have ever seen, it's staggering.

01: Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire

The storyline in Deadfire takes the already major stakes from Pillars of Eternity I and manages to raise them even higher without making it seem like it's going to ridiculous lengths. The many characters you meet in this game are some of the strongest and best written I have seen in an extraordinarily long time. It's such a wonderful balancing act that you have such a range of characters who have their own plots and schemes that can affect the world but they all gel really well together. Even the overtly optimistic characters are played in a very realistic way where it doesn't come across as the game trying to pander with naive cheerful characters.

Umineko no Naku Koro Ni

I find it incredible that a series of such gargantuan length was able to maintain and hold my interest for the majority of its length. There were a couple of times early on where I felt my interest waning a bit, but everytime it was able to draw me back in and just revitalize my enjoyment. I am also immensely surprised at just how strongly it has remained lodged in my memory since finishing it. I feel reasonably confident if pressed I could give a summation of the entire VN just going off of memory and lose very little in the retelling.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire

As with the original Pillars the sequel does an amazing job integrating the DLC expansions quite seamlessly into the main narrative. There were times that I would embark on what I thought was a simple sidequest but was actualy a large add-on that was just as well crafted as the stuff in the main game. It was a very nice and greatly appreciated attention to detail.

02: Umineko no Naku Koro Ni

I adore this game, I will sing its praises even while carrying the small issues I have with the production. It is such a genuinely great piece of work that I worry that I might be overselling how good it is. But I genuinely feel that it is certainly worth all the praise the visual novel has accrued since its release.

However, games are more than just their story. It comes down to gameplay as well as the story that determines what I think the best of the year (pre-2023) truly is. And that's Pillars of Eternity II. I went in to this game with very high expectations, and I was truly surprised at how masterfully the game had met every single one of them. Despite some minor character and story wobbles I adore everything Pillars II set out to do. I highly, highly recommend this game to anyone who has even a passing interest in CRPGs.

OKAY! sizeshifter thoughts,, this isn't really specific to any character at all BUT the reason i asked about jornos!tommy is because my thoughts apply pretty much directly to a sizeshifter who's primarily been one size for their whole life. so new shifters (whether that be thru magic or just genes)

idk how to summarize any of this....but i am thinking So Hard just about how chaotic it would be for someone to be burdened with newly-found shifting abilities. especially if it's emotion based.

when you newly know about something, you're going to do it a lot, sometimes subconsciously. like, if you learn to spin a pencil between your fingers, you're gonna do it a lot and not even notice!

so, imagine, like for a human, them sitting in class or at work or something and they're fidgeting with something, and it suddenly shrinks in their hand. and like imagine that was important,,, like their phone!!! and then they try super hard to channel energy to grow it back to normal that it's overall useless and it ends up being tiny for the rest of the day because of how stressed the human is.

IMAGINE HOW SCARY THAT IS FOR THE TINY???? super scared of this giant being and suddenly the being gets even BIGGER. idek if that makes sense but UGHHH it's rotating in my mind !!!!!

and then there's also the part of uncontrolled sizeshifting for their own person,, which is a lot more talked about, but the scenarios in which uncontrolled sizeshifting can happen is SOO COOL!!! imagine it's emotion based, but it can be regulated, but the person isn't good at it yet, cause it's a new skill! you can't ride a bike immediately, so why could you become a sizeshifter immediately? hmm???

hugging someone, and their brain is reminded that they have powers and they suddenly shrink. cutting veggies and their hand slips and suddenly they're five feet taller because their body wanted any kind of cut to be less severe. carrying groceries and they shrink and shit goes everywhere. getting jumpscared and suddenly POOF they're falling twenty feet. signing off a letter and they accidentally shrink a little bit and the pen just loses control and messes the whole letter up!!!! chopping a branch off with an axe and accidentally growing and the pressure of the swing chops the whole ass tree down!! MSHDHVSDVJ good stuff.

OH OH OH and someone who's kinda been experimenting with size difference and has embraced it, and they want to put their shoes on or get into a piece of clothing they like but they can't remember what their original height was so they have to fiddle around with it and end up wasting five minutes getting it just right—cause we know it looks right but it could totally be better

supermassive halloween plotcall + tracker

now the other one that's our lil endgame for these two... sombra & satya. also messy but ultimately ends pretty great after sombra is forced to get over herself. tl;dr for any readers that aren't scoob: her and satya meet on a long term talon mission (unbeknownst to satya) and get on absurdly well. tension n all but satya's focused on her work and sombras headin out anyway so nothing really comes of it. she disappears then reappears a couple years later, out of talon and highkey trying to avoid the raging deadlock leader who's mad at her for leaving her at the altar (ashe's words, not her's.) india's a pretty good curveball. the details are fuzzy here but they ultimately get back together here which is great until satya keeps jabbing her and being like FIX YOUR ISSUES OR YOURE LEAVING and shes like ://// FINE! DAMN.

Hi!! I was wondering if I could ask you a question about nightmare time season 2. In terms of like, the horror aspects, how do you think they compare to the first ones?? I love hatchetfield with all my heart but true horror and I don't mix well.

I got through all of nightmare time 1 just fine, but then I watched Honey Queen and at the end, OH MY GOD I had to turn it off. It was so much more intense than I was expecting, and really really personally disturbing to me, like I wasn't in a good headspace even after I turned it off.

Are all of the stories like that?? Or are some of them more on the level of the first round? And if so, would you maybe be willing to rank them in terms of horror levels?

that's a good question! I'll try my best to answer for you, but I'm not super seasoned in true horror so keep that in mind, if anyone else has input on this feel free to add on!

episode two I think has more intense horror elements, too. I'd put them above Honey Queen in terms of that. Perky's Buds has some nasty death descriptions and one particularly viscerally disturbing scene imo, and a lot of the horror in that one comes from the dehumanization aspect - the nighthawks treat Emma and Ziggs like tools, it's about losing autonomy and if something like that and. Really Fucking Gross shit like vomit is something horrific to you, it'd probably be too much. I've seen a couple people say PB is one of the most effectively horrific Hatchetfield stories in terms of visceral discomfort.

Abstinence Camp is very much a slasher, it has the goriest descriptions I can recall in any of these stories. I definitely don't think I would handle that one as well if it was like a movie, and those aspects were actually visually depicted and not just described in narration. they're a little intense, especially the first death imo.

I personally don't think episode 3 is that bad? Daddy's a little harder to definitively judge for me, I think it more depends on the kind of thing that makes you uncomfortable, so if you want details I can give em. it's much more somber, tonally, and has one kinda nasty death description at the end, but horror-wise I don't think it's on HQ level, and definitely not PB or AC, personally.

Killer Track you could liken to a milder version of The Ring, the concept's laid out for you, the piece of media that wants to kill you. they delve into that and they do play the actual song. it's a bit of a jumpscare and it's loud, and the sequence has some more horror-esque imagery. on first watch the song gave me a headache and I know people who were bothered by it on a sensory level. they did soften it a bit for the yt release, it's not as hard on the ears, but it's still something I'd warn for. the ending is definitely sad rather than scary, though, horror-wise I also don't think it's That bad.

Yellow Jacket I'd def say is season one level. they've been pretty open that the villain is Pokey, he's in the trailer, that's not a spoiler, so if TGWDLM didn't bother you I think it's unlikely Yellow Jacket will.
