Thank you sm! I'm glad you think my style suits him! I think his design is pretty elegant so I try to do it justice as much as I can.

Good question!! So I had to look up my own archive bcause I didn't remember but the first time I drew him was end of december. its been.... 9 months...

I have been aware of twst a few years prior but I was never INTO it. I really liked Sebek's design from the get go though, it has many elements that appeal to me personally (AND HE'S IN THE EQUESTRIAN CLUB!!!! I LOVE HORSES!!), but since he wasn't in the main story much I really didn't know anything about him. Then Glomas happened and I ended up getting obsessed w twst, and honestly around that time sebek got A LOT of cards back to back (dorm card, glomas, new years, masterchef, birthday, harveston on en) wich made me wanna look into him more and.. BOY!!!!

He is so obsessive!!!!! SO confidently wrong!! His perception of reality is so warped!! I wanted to study him under a microscope immediately. And honestly he's so FUNNY he makes every scene hes in a treat. A moment that had stuck out to me when I was still learning about him was how important it was to him not to lose to silver at.... coffee drinking... LIKE MY GUY!!!! NOBODY CARES!!!!! His point of view is so fun to see. I need to put him in a blender. I find characters like him very interesting, devoted to one person and all of their actions and morals are dictated by that.

Of course eventually it did become apparent that he has actual reasons and deep insecurities that affect his behaviour (which I hope but doubt ch 7 will actually touch on), that make him a pretty well rounded character, very fun to analyse and see more of. And his bond with the rest of Diasomnia is super interesting too. Silver is my 2nd favourite so it's nice that they interact a lot and mirror eachother.

A while back I went again on a bryological excursion to the local woods, and this time, my mom (a mycologist) went too..

And let me tell you... It was truly beautiful, to observe how the bryologist and my mom were completely blind to each others interests. My mom would see some mushroom and trample over some moss... The bryologist would see some moss n would trample over some mushrooms. Delightful.

Meanwhile I would trample over both mushroom n moss.. cause even though the whole excursion was supposed to be about moss.. I was mostly watching for any n all little crawly creatures...

I'm replaying rdr2 rn and usually I leave every micah mission for the last possible moment just so that I can have as much time with him gone as possible. this time I didn't. doing that made me notice that Micah????? Tried??? To get more people to like him?? Arthur included?

Im not saying that in a "aw poor guy" kind of way. It's very obvious that it's slimy. The girls he wants to like him for obvious reasons. Anyone who's not white he Doesn't do this to and is actively antagonistic towards. But Micah tries to get Arthur to like him in the same way he gets Dutch to like him. He tries to talk to Arthur friendly MULTIPLE times, and every time arthur (rightfully) shuts him down. He showers him in compliments and thanks and good job opportunities. He even donates pretty decent money to the camp funds. Not as often as other people, but when he donates it's like 10 dollars as opposed to other peoples 1 dollar. (Funnily enough, I noticed this bc I always donate 10 dollars at a time no matter how much money I have, just so I'm not harassed for not donating in 4 days when the last time I donated 1000.) It's only after arthur shuts him down so often that Micah tries to get rid of him.

But here's the thing. Micah is shitty towards the people arthur loves, and that's a deal breaker for him no matter how much micah tries to butter him up. Charles and lenny are both people that Arthur shows massive respect and appreciation for. They work hard, don't escalate situations in a way that endangers the gang, and they don't consider some lives as fundamentally above others. and micah, who does none of those things, is just a racist asshole towards them. Arthur feels a responsibility towards the girls, and micah harasses them. EVERY time you talk to one of the girls after micah does, arthur asks them to let him know if they want him to do anything about it. (I actually have no idea what he's like towards Tilly, as I've never had an interaction between the two, but I highly doubt it would be good.) He's creepy towards jack, but I'm genuinely not sure if he's like that from the start or only after arthur had turned him down so much. AND: hosea doesn't like him. Hilariously I think that alone would be enough for arthur to hate him as well.

Funnily enough, all this combined makes me think of Dutch more than anyone else. For Arthur, fucking with the people he loves is a deal breaker. For Dutch, it's not. At least, it's not until it's too late for anyone to be saved, Dutch himself included.

Need to rant.

I spent an hour and a half working on The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck. I only got 50 pages in. The reading is easy, but I’m annotating a LOT so it’s going super slow.

But I’m annotating a lot to remind myself of all the bullshit, so I can properly roast it. There are some good ideas and points in there but omg he sounds like an insufferable asshole writing a book for himself, ignoring that other people can have totally valid ways of being. Fatphobic undertones, implying there are definitely good values and like, limited ways to correctly prioritize them. I’m now 45% through. I am hate-reading at this point, and I’m torn between:

do I just want to finish it off quickly from here on out? (he has started going into specific things that are negative that he thinks everybody should value highly, versus talking more about his general philosophy)

Or do I want to keep going through slowly making notes ripping him apart.

On one hand: I’m definitely enraged and I kinda want it to end because it’s so irritatingly wrong. On the other hand: i want to give it such a scathing review because of its wrongness that I want to have everything wrong with it detailed meticulously because I enjoy that level of thoroughness.

I’m hoping there will be less to annotate tbh.

Toughts of on posible friendship between Funtime Freddy and Spring bonnie? It think they deserve to slander Afton :3 honestly most of those under his direct creation/care should

I think it’d be interesting and a little funny- I could kind of imagine the friendship basically happening during UCN.

Funtime Freddy is with the regular group, and Spring Bonnie is basically apart of Dee Dee’s little roster, occasionally being summoned.

Meets up with the bunny, and Spring Bonnie really isn’t initially sure what to think—especially with discovering more of the things that Afton did. What they last remember is the final springlock failure.

Funtime Freddy’s just chilling with Spring Bonnie outside of the office—Counting The Ways with them—giving them a lot of options/ideas on how to deal with Afton.

If they’re all gonna be there forever, might as well make it interesting- and Funtime Freddy sure knows a lot of ways to deal with someone.

I KNOW I love it because it truly shows how much the old fucks live in their own bubble where they are the only real people who matter in the universe. It's such a great way to show how hard it is for immortals to cling to humanity

Also this really makes it obvious that Mercy and Augustine's motives for betraying John were ultimately personal. Sure, Augustine was right that John should stop the war and his pointless obsession does nothing good. But he didn't try to kill John to save anyone. He tried to kill John for revenge

actually i feel like a whole essay could be written about "Random Humor" and how it did not really go away so much as get rebranded and change its presentation somewhat. tumblr especially loves its absurdist non-sequiturs but it is afraid to call it as it is (random humor) and quite frankly some of the posts on this site WISH they could be as funny as a ytp from 2009. i havent the braincells right now (or maybe ever idk) to write such an essay though
