So you know how my Witchcraft SMP theory got almost 500 notes? Like I'm talking in the late 490s?

Well I'm doing it again. This time with Pirates. On Day 1. Because I can.

... I'll probably update this later.

ANYWAY

I was thinking about the weirdos who took Guqqie. I didn't catch their nametags if they had any (my screen was being super blurry, it's been a problem for like a week), so I'm starting to call them the People of the Yellow Ship (Because notably they're the only ones with a brightly coloured sail and we need more yellow as an intimidating colour. Too many derederes. Not enough Bill Ciphers).

I was wondering, because they explicitly singled her out out of a large crowd of currently loud people. Was it her bright pink hair? The mysterious gleaming circle thing on her shirt, whatever it is? Maybe, but I think it'd be more interesting if the hatred (or admiration? whatever emotion behind the intent) wasn't based on something so surface level. If the People knew some deeper things about Guqqie.

My first thought? They targeted her because she was vulnerable. Like how real cultists operate, because I assume from the shot of the temple at the end of Guqqie's animation that they're meant to be interpreted as cultists. Now obviously real life cultists don't sacrifice people most of the time (although most media doesn't seem to acknowledge that), so keep in mind that these characters are probably not going to be realistic depictions. Of course. It's a story about pirates and eldritch horror made by gamers and influencers.

ON A SIDE NOTE. I think I'm the first person (at least on tumblr) to point out that the Faction/Pirate Isles have their own temple, as shown at the end of the intro. A caved-in greco-roman inspired structure that is surprisingly more overgrown on the very-much-inhabited pirate hotspot compared to the island with the abandoned and corrupted village (and somehow when Guccie made it to the deadly temple it started snowing. How exactly was it snowing on a tropical island? I hope this will be answered... are gods real? and at least one of them condones this?... hm... the eldritch vibes are getting stronger the more I think about it). Also I want to mention that it would've been so easy to make the temple aztec or something but I'm so glad they didn't. Adventure movies do enough damage.

But back to the theory. How is Guqqie vulnerable? Well, in Owen's YouTube series so far, we only see Guqqie a few times. Mostly getting along well with Aimsey, but one time is particularly relevant. I think it was before Owen had chosen to join the Herons, when he was considering all options (as skeptical as he was). Guqqie mentioned that she rarely leaves the island, as she is uncomfortable on the open sea. Mentioned that she gets seasick, and most interestingly, that her parents say that the act of getting seasick is "unladylike".

This sentence set off alarm bells in my head. Honestly whenever someone uses the term unladylike it concerns or enrages me, but past that. We don't know much about Guqqie's home life, other than that she was probably raised a Kestrel, much like how Scott was raised a Heron. On Aimsey's stream she said that c!Guqqie didn't like c!Aimsey at first, which at least to me implies that Guqqie's parents had instilled a hatred of Kites in their daughter, which Guqqie eventually broke out of when she fell for the swag enby with the tentacle tattoos.

Guqqie's parents instilling the importance of appearing ladylike to Guqqie reads that they wanted her to be a model aristocrat (at least among pirates), much like Scott and Owen. But the part where it gets dark is they told her this in the context of her seasickness. They thought it was unbecoming of a woman to need to throw up over the gunwale (yes I looked up what the railing of a ship was called just for this post, what of it), her face green as rotting bread. Which is, in a word, scummy. If your kid has health issues like this, don't be like that. You know, if there are any parents reading this, which I doubt.

cc!Guqqie had only an hour and a bit to tell her story to the other cc!s and their chats. And she chose to tell Owen's that tidbit of information. It seems like a comedic throwaway line, but I keep coming back to it. Something tells me that this was important. That it may have been part of the reason she was chosen.

I just realized something as I was writing this out. Oh god. If I'm right, then they'll probably go after Scott next.

Last year there were (fake) allegations about Smajor1995 regarding a 12 year old. The person behind the account who claimed to be a victim was 24 years old. 2.4.

And it was recently talked about in a group discord that I reported the high hell's of, THEY DID IT BECAUSE THEY WANTED HIS CLOUT

Then there was tubbo and the Emma social experiment. I also had the misfortune of talking to someone who knew they person personally, they downplayed it and said he couldn't do anything cause they were in Russia, I report all this to a Tubbo mod.

I remember seeing the Shelby situation and after that came out, it being confirmed and stuff, she start supporting others. Like anyone would do. But Caiti USED THE SITUATION TO HER ADVANTAGE AND BLINDSIDED EVERYONE, TAKING ADVANTAGE OF SHELBY'S AND AIMSEY KINDNESS!

This then created an environment were shelby didn't support anyone else in fear of it happening again and Freddie being thrown under the rug.

Then recent a Vtubers called Kenji was doxx, humiliated and harassed by his former mods and HIS OWN BEST FRIENDS, who prayed on his downfall so that they could take his place and be more popular. When getting called out they gave the shittiest excuse possible, "Oh I needed to better myself as a person" and "oh I needed it to be said outloud to know it was wrong"

HOW UNFUNNY, UNORIGINAL AND FUCKING CRUEL DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO PRAY ON SOMEONE'S DOWNFALL TO CLAIM THERE COMMUNITY?!

They are willing to make fake situations of victims and normal, innocent people to steal there clout and fame.

The MINUTE a famous person opens a discord server and is active with there community they're putting themselves at risk of something happening.

People like Goodtimeswithscar and Jimmy Solidaritygaming consider NOT having a twitter account in fear of this happening.

Grian has openly REFUSED to use twitter or have a active discord server because of this.

Smajor1995 doesn't interact on discord much because of this people.

People like Dream have had to abandoned server and projects in fear of bs happening.

jim and martyn go out at night to get resources. jimmy crashes while mining coal around some gravel and he crashes....... he has the falling block glitch,,, martyn crashed too i think (update: they all have it. i think its caused by mods not installing properly but its probably server side since its everyone? or fwhip messed up since jim said fwhip organised a folder for everyone to install.)

jimmy finds a village! on the way he has a close call with a creeper and he then raids it. he mentions football but then hes like "you dont care do you. no worries" TALK ABOUT YOUR INTERESTS ON YOUR STREAAMMMMM i mean what

chat keeps telling him to kill a golem. he resists for a bit before doing it. "you know what. ive gave in to peer pressure. im going to kill him." he then kills the golem and he goes ooo or yeah for every hit.

lizzie joins and he starts BEGGING her to not die first. sausage says his sos builds were him "holding back". i am scared of him i think

lizzie wants to test if you can still jump off cliffs in boats. she then goes into a ravine (and lands in water so it isnt even a test) and realises that she did just jump into a ravine with a total of 0 resources. she gets out fine :)

they talk about saving the villagers and lizzie tries to. seduce one of them into going inside the house. then sausage tries to seduce the SAME villager.

sausage has a gapple already???? he tries to give it to jimmy but jimmy gives it back.

jimmy and lizzie and sausage go mining together. this is such a great trio im so happy. they go into one of those shitty little caves and mythical "builder" sausage starts texturing the entrance. someone put him in a creative world its good for his enrichment.

honestly the mining trip is really chill... its just the three of them hanigng out and talking. very fun. sausage meows when hes nervous. lizzie has just found out that hardcore means the server is set to hard. they also all remember that cats scare creepers and theyre having a great time. lizzie has no armour and reaches 1 heart.

sausages texturing is an ongoing bit and its so fucking funny they keep encouraging him. sausage this whole cave needs texturing.

oli wants to know where jimmy is. this gives hey girl i mean they energy and i cant explain it. jimmy says "we" are in a hole atm and oli goes full jealous bf mode on him. he calls him kitten. i cant do this

the gang finds a lush cave and sausages texturing bit gets even funnier. hes so happy about moss. unfortunately theres like a million mobs.

aimsey asks in chat if someone can sleep so jimmy does. he says it was him and aimsey says "YAY!!!!! you are my new favourite" while scott says "youre so hot for that". jimmy does not acknowledge either of them. winning the idgaf war.

sausage combat logs in between a bunch of mobs. lizzie combat logs a moment later. leaving jimmy alone to fight all the mobs (its like a single creeper and skeleton) and jimmy is SO annoyed about it. he'll never forget this.

they both join again but lizzie has to leave :( she goes back to the surface to log out safely

sausage is visibly upset about caving day 1. he yearns to build. he really really wants to build. did you know he wants to build. he wants a starter house. he doesnt want to be in the caves.

they see some gravel and jimmys like be careful. dont touch it cuz of the glitch. sausage then goes wait can i hit it here? and the game IMMEDIATELY crashes. jimmy is devastated. like clutching his head hitting his desk. hes worried hes gonna fall to his death cuz he was placing blocks.

they both rejoin at about the same time. turns out what saus did (i think) is he tried to break a single piece of gravel that he THOUGHT wasnt connected to anything. but it was. it was connected to a lot of things actually. so they both crashed

they start to go back up and they find oli!!! oli starts playing the oli and jim theyre just two guys song. hes actually so jealous boyfriend "explain to me why i have that song ready and youre spending time in a hole with OTHER men by the way!?" he also says kitten again. i cant do this. oli tries to modify the oli and jim song to oli and oli. he chills out quickly then starts playing their talent show song

they go back to the surface and oli starts talking about wanting (armadillo) scutes (for dog armour) and a dog. while oli is talking about dogs jimmy is just. zoomed in on his feet. sausage just says he will give oli 10 gifted subs if he shows his feet on stream. they get on him for being too direct and not being pg. as if they were being perfect little angels. ok oli and jim.

they all start talking over each other about lore and i cant hear anything except jimmy going "IM THE DADDY OF THIS SERVER!" and oli going "NO YOURE MY KITTEN YOURE MY KITTEN YOURE MY KITTEN YOURE MY LITTLE KITTEN MAN"

jimmy leaves to get food. he comes back and briefly passes oli and saus and i just hear oli calling sausage kitten too. i dont know what this new bit is and im too scared to ask.

all three of them go on a little boat ride to find more people. jimmy wrote a sea song yesterday and its really fun and catchy.......

they eventually run into martyn and sneeg. i think a thing about this smp is going to be me not being able to hear anything. theres a minimum of 3 people talking at any given time. the boats end up as jim/martyn, sneeg/oli, and saus. oli changes oli and jim to oli and sneeg.

i genuinely think theres like maybe 2 braincells between them all because as soon as someone says something they all start repeating it

oli and jimmy separate off. theyre looking for some place to live and they realise the spot they want is where scott is. so they make a bit out of trying to move into the area without anyone noticing theyre there. scott tries to talk to them and theyre like heyyyyyyy we didnt notice you here aha. ahaha. for context the area is like. a massive hole in the ground thats not a cave but its just. a pit. scott and aimsey call it the donut jimmy and oli call it the disc.

oli says "has there ever been a disc war" and i was thrown so hard into 2020. they then speak over each other but jimmys like (to scott) YOU FRUSTRATE ME! I AM FRUSTRATED! and oli says that oli/jim are the disc heads. surely nobody is going to mispronounce this. just a couple of disc heads. ok mr pg. their house is the discheads disc den and they keep saying it really fast and i think somethings going to go wrong.

martyn and sausage and sneeg turn up and within like a second olis like "we love riding disc in this house" and saus says "ill ride that disc" i dont like either of them at all. then oli shoos jimmy away to convince sneeg to call it the disc and not a donut (probably to say something not pg). whatever he said it worked cuz by the time jimmys back hes calling it the disc. mog turns up at some point during this too.

jimmy walks off and finds a whole bunch of dogs.... he got one of the new ones. woods wolf? idk its very cute. he goes back to the group and mog gets exiled for calling the hole a donut. jimmy mines for like 5 minutes then ends. :p next stream monday and theres another build and seek video tomorrow

Me and Liau read this ask together a few days ago and all of this OOC is the funniest shit. But also I don't think it'd be bearable for me to watch lol (minimum of 3 people speaking at a time sounds god awful. A brief rant on archiving

Unfortunately, the Pirates SMP runs into the recurring problem that most other livestreamed SMPs face – many of the VODs have been lost to time due to a lack of timely archiving. Some of the creators have either archived their VODs or adapted their POVs into episodes, but the fact remains that many of the POVs have been lost to time, which may affect how you may catch up on the series.

Another unfortunate aspect is incomplete fan archiving. While BlueberryTV started to make a Pirates episodic recap, it has only archived up to the start of Day 3 (Aug 1) so far out of 134 days of the SMP's run-time. Meanwhile, although the Wiki has the overarching plotline summarized across server event pages, last I checked, it hasn't been able to adequately keep up with individual character lore.

TL;DR: The Pirates SMP is not an easily accessible series due to incomplete and inconsistent archiving and adaptation across the 30 POVs. I've spent so long working on the recaps to make it more accessible for newcomers, but even then, I'm painfully aware that us archivists are not infallible either and wish we could have done more.

I've been thinking more about why Scott and the Nightingales could see Aimsey but Owen and Water couldn't and now I'm wondering if maybe Aimsey, or whatever looks like Aimsey, let the Nightingales see it in the hopes that Acho would mention seeing him to Scott. Cause Aimsey's behavior with the Nightingales was notably different, with Scott they seemed to be trying to lead Scott further onto the island, away from Water and Owen, while with the Nightingales they were more just... standing around. No obvious attempt to lead any of them anywhere.

If we assume that theories that the corruption is targeting Scott due to his relationship with Cruppy is true, perhaps the corruption realizes that Acho would be likely to mention seeing Aimsey to star's brother. And by ensuring all of the Nightingales see them, it ensures Acho doesn't keep quiet due to doubting what star saw, especially since I believe Acho is one of the heavier drinkers on the isle. If only Acho saw Aimsey, he might just write it off as him being drunker than he thought or just seeing things. But the entire faction saw them.

Maybe this was an attempt to ensure Scott returns to the isle, reconfirm his belief that Aimsey is still on there somewhere and they need to be rescued. If other people went to the island and saw no sign of Aimsey, it would be very easy for Scott to begin to believe that Owen and Water were right. That he was seeing things, that it was a trick of the storm and the dark or something. But now he's got reassurance that other people have seen Aimsey. It's just Water and Owen who couldn't see them. It's Water and Owen who are wrong, not him.

I was wanting Scar’s MCC 33 VOD the other day and he mentioned the idea for a Boatem team where he, Impulse, Grian and Pearl dressed up as Mumbo like he was dressed up as Etho in that moment.

Later in the stream Scott mentioned an idea he had for a Pirates SMP Team, but because there aren’t really any S Tiers in Pirates it would have to be one where all the teams were like Boatem with no S Tiers. So I thought I’d look at those who have played in at least one event and could perhaps be persuaded to return and tried to come up with 10 teams that I all think are just about balanced enough for an MCC.

The lore stream was... a lot

I'm gonna spend a lot of time watching vods from different povs over the next few days (I only watched Ros and Scott's povs for now), but with what I know so far:

So, the ice wall surrounds the faction isles completely? Not sure if that's still a theory or if that's canon now, but let's assume it is true.

Several people came from places outside the faction isles, p!Krow probably from further away than most. So how did they get past the ice?

The diaries mentioned that the ice wall came out of nowhere, and grew quite fast, though the diaries (and zombies) also suggest that it took some time for the situation to develop. Then again, it could've been a matter of days...

What's more interesting though was that the corruption was in the ice. Did it eat it's way through the ice? Or was the ice summoned to contain it? But then what are the seals for? If the seals created the ice, will the ice wall melt now that the seal has been broken? Is that what caused the earth to shake?

Those are just some unorganized thoughts of mine tho and I haven't even touched on Not-Aimsey, the hooded people and the new person that was shown in the cutscene, but I've already rambled waaay to long

ok ive finished :) and i do have thoughts. area unknown has been really special. its a rare bird in terms of minecraft content and theres just so many important stories being told there. the way it relates to the wider sunship canon or whatever its called is amazing, and the otehr ppls content like oli's dedicated grinding, moonzy's beautiful buildings or graaavel's awesome lore (HIS LORE VIDEO WAS SO GOOD. IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOD. THE MUSIC????? YEA), was all so amazing to witness.

BUT i do have some criticisms if you dont mind me sharing. none of it is with ill intent and i understand why the decisions that were made happened but i still think its worth pointing out.

im disappointed with how aimsey and scott's arc was left off, because i dont think it reached a satisfying conclusion at all and the loose threads they left didn't feel like a culmination of their relationship. aimsey and scott's conversations are some of my favourite parts of the lore because their relationship is so, SO interesting and really worth exploring. so ending it by saying "scott just got bored and went back to hell" was not a good move i feel. i really wanted to see something more there.

guqqie does touch on hera's influence when she discovers the grave but to be honest i dont understand why she was allowed to get married to aimsey and have a happy ending. hera has made a point of dooming them in every single universe and she just loves torturing her little experiment, and her influence has continued into season two with egging aimsey and oli on with the lab, so i really don't understand why guqqie was able to seperate herself from this and later get married when that has never been allowed before

i guess that everything was intentionally left pretty open ended so things could change in future, guqqie did say she'd write something up later this week which could give answers to what i mentioned above. and who knows, maybe in the years guqqie and aimsey were split hera could have been defeated in some way. maybe guqqie went back and confronted her or something idk. i would really like to see something like that though. and of course that open-endedness leaves room for aimsey and scott to do something which would also be great. but yeah those are my less great thoughts about the finale. but do not be fooled just because it wasnt absolutely perfect didnt mean i didnt enjoy it/think it was bad

FORTUNATELY it has given me a great window to start working on that au because i really want to develop scott and aimseys arc, explore aimsey's feelings as a demon and the horror that comes with that, and his relationship to hera because the one time they interacted always gives me chills. so i think the finale was flawed but thats ok because now i can go in and do awesome stuff with my own ideas for a bad ending. because i like hera cannot let the characters rest. ineed to be stopped hehehe

but yeah apart from that i did really enjoy the finale. it did feel like area unknown. the party, never have i ever, michela being hilarious and caitees being weird, and of course heartbreaking sunship lore. it genuinely gave me the same warm feeling as when i was watching through all those vods from 2022 when they were just messing around or screaming at each other in the rain. area unknown needed to end. no one seemed to want or have the time/inspiration/motivation to do stuff on it anymore, and the characters needed a conclusion and to be let go so they could just be in their own right. i'm glad that its done. it was really special. i cant wait to see what everyone does next :3

i agree heavily on the scott and aimsey topic, i wish we could’ve gotten more development of their relationship or seen scott in s2 bc there was a psrt of his house i think somewhere and then he was never mentioned again iirc, but they were probably both too busy or something to do anything which is ok i’ll just make it up in my head :3

So au!scott is stronger in the new world than the old one, huh? That pretty much crosses out the "time goes by differently" theory i believe. So the way that I see it those are the options we have:

1. The new world reflects who you are on the inside to the outside. This would explain why au!scott is becomming "more demon", as oppose to au!aimsey who's becomming "more human".

2. The portal is what causes beings to transform, rather than the world itself. This would mean that au!scott got into that world somehow else. He basically said that he can "hop between worlds", so not necessarily through the same portal. Although he did say that he "followed aimsey's track".

3. au!scott knows the new world better than the other characters, and therefore knows how to use his powers there. Supernatural abilities tend to work differently in different worlds so this would make sense. However I don't think it is the case because au!scott mentioned that he "likes this world" because he is "stronger in it".

4. au!scott is working with arg!guqqie, who set this whole thing up. While this explains the whole "look what you have done" situation, I don't think that's the case. Source? It doesn't feel right.

Although, this theory could be backed up by the fact that au!scott kept saying that he "liked guqqie" - maybe he was referring to arg!guqqie rather than the AU one?

Another point to note is that physics seem to be very different in this case than in any other, even more than we knew as by the way that au!scott talked it sounded like the nether is mutual to this world and the previous one, which is highly against one of the most basic rules of minecraft world: each world consists of 3 independant realms of its own, being the overworld, the nether and the end. This doesn't seem to surprise scott which either means that he knows something, or he's just clueless about it and plays confident.

5. The abilities that you have on the new world depend on one's mental state. I think that this is my favorite option personally (tho i might change my mind later lol). So basically, au!aimsey is becomming more human because they see themself as human, while au!scott becomes more powerfull because that's how he sees himself. The only plot hole in this theory is au!lexie's wings... Unless she has a reason to want to not have them? We don't know much about her character yet so everything is possible at this point.

I can't really end this post with "I'd like them to know that" can I? It doesn't really fit. Oh well, I suppose habits to tend to break from time to time. Rambler out!

Kay I typed out a really long nonsensical ramble so this time I'm just going to go down the list of S3 players and anyone I don't specifically mention in these two lists is someone I've either never heard of before or can't decide

I specifically think that while Ranboo would be good daydream fuel, I am unfortunately bound by the logic of "nahh he really wouldn't opt in would he" and that Grian on the flip side did it because all of his friends kept gushing about how cute he would be and Grian was 80% sure he would win dispite coming from a permadeath world.

And yes, grian dies while practicing parkour, and and gets disqualified from participating like 2 weeks before the event, which is pretty damn long because I've set the beginning of the daydream as 4 months. At that point he had gotten accustomed to other people dying, but slipping up and falling for the first time into the void, being so sure he was going to die and then suddenly waking up in a bed but still feeling vertigo from falling was entirely different, and Etho [who at this point in time had been set as a teammate for Grian] had to calm him down, and later told Scott that Grian couldn't play in the event.

The rest of Grians time is spent relaxing since he didn't have to worry about dying [he does die at least 3 more times, but most people are being careful around him and hes both grateful for it and despises it], and doing way too much exposition because YHS Grian has an idea that his childhood is definitely not a normal or relatively good one, but hasn't had enough experiences outside of Tokyo since enrolling in Acedemi high to really draw the line on what's like actually kind of horrifying. Specifically he's hesitant to share that he killed people because Grian doesn't want to get outcasted or be seen as a murderer [who would], but everyone around him can't even imagine having to live with the guilt that you permakilled another player, since murder is a relatively light topic and punished with a slap on the wrist for most worlds

Oh I'd also like to add a few logistics and world building things, the biggest one is that anyone who opted into this event [MCC Time Warp maybe? I'm bad at names] was able to choose at what time their past versions would be, and most chose around 14 - 18, though a few chose to be 19 or even 20, and obviously people like Tommy went way under the average because he thought it would be fun and more chaotic, but Scott refused to let anyone chose under 10 years old. When the event is over, not much memory carried over, being incredibly foggy and getting embarrassed by their friends telling them what happened while they were regressed. I'm thinking the actual way they get them travelificated is either some redstone magic and basic time travel box y'know, something that will read a players code to see what year they can grab from based on how old the player is, or something like a more stable recreation of the rift since this daydream is very Grian centric, and the rift will just intrinsically know when to pull a player from when they step through.

Teams for this event are decided about a month before the event, Scott figuring that after 3 months they would have surely figured out exactly who wasn't mentally or physically able to compete [he was wrong] and by the actual event, 8 players have been disqualified. 30 players were time traveled because they expected people to need backup players, and each team is composed of 2 adults and 2 children/teens, with the teams mainly being balanced for safety rather than skill level and the younger kids getting placed with the most responsible adults or a much older teen teammate.

People are acting like Wilbur and Shelby started international wars, but Wilbur f-up and had to apologise and we know from previous clips WAY BEFORE he met shelby that he'd done similar things, Niki even mentioned wilbur biting her in come old live streams and clips.

"but shelby didn't blah blah-" Niki knew, Scott Smajor knew, Noxite/Nox crew knew because he wasn't the Mcc presenter for a long time, minx knew, Bilzo knew, geminitay knew, Aimsey clear knew for a long time because you don't have a reaction like that not know furthermore they said they already knew, Ranboo vaguely knew, MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC KNEW BUT WERE SHUT DOWN

Everyone knew apart from the people who weren't as close to Shelby or didn't witness his behaviour. Heck even QT and someone other people highlight Wilbur behaviour at a content creator party DESPITE minx being the one on the chopping block.

People who didn't even know wilbur acknowledged he was weird, and some expressed discomfort. James marriott decided to promotely cut ties with lovejoy because he was uncomfortable with there behaviour, he was crapped but has since recovered.

Some other smaller CC who spoke out didn't recover.

And personally I believe we had no right to know because it's about there PRIVATE LIVES and Wilbur has a fanbase similar to BTS, they see, they attack and they don't ask questions.

Why would wilbur need to apologise for something he didn't do? Because he did do it.

He did do those things, whether people like it or not he did. There are too many people, including non-content creators, who knew about his behaviour, tried to speak out but then were cut off because of it. It took a collective effort of at always 18+ people over the course of 5+ years to get the word out.

It's not shelby's fault that "Wilbur's career is ruined" and it's certainly not her fault that crazy people think it's okay to doxx him.

my favorite mcc moments i have watched live, from season 2

so, in honour of season 2 of mcc finally coming to an end, i really wanted to make a post highlighting some of my favorite moments i've seen live since i started watching in mcc 17. i love this silly block game tournament, i love tuning into it every month and cheering on my favorite players and teams, i love watching my favorite games, and i'm grateful for all the terrific players who put on such great performances and of course noxcrew for creating this whole event and scott for organizing it. so, without waffling about too much, here's some moments i watched live in mcc season 2 that made me absolutely lose my mind:

my first live mcc + first winner's pov: mcc 17 orange ocelots (false, grian, sb, pete)

orange17 was my first full live pov and my proper gateway into mcc and i'll never forget just how incredibly lucky i am for that - it's like if someone's first live mcc was pink22 and seeing the captain win. from start to finish it was just an epic, cinematic experience with all of them hitting homeruns on every single game while being extremely supportive of each other and having a really good time themselves. and this couldn't be better highlighted by how, with bated breath, they encouraged grian during his final 1v3 during dodgebolt. really such a fantastic team with an incredible ending that i think will go down as one of the most memorable teams of season 2. it's also through watching this team that i found out about pete, and he's since become my most watched streamer so i'm always gonna appreciate that. if i had to highlight further specific moments from them, i'd say grian's sky battle and their whole entire buildmart are pretty damn iconic

my second live winner's pov: mcc 26 violet vampires (fruit, oli, shelby, phil)

i haven't watched fruit live in mcc very much, but i decided to this time because i just really loved this team from the start and thought it was super fun. this was a really, really fun team with excellent vibes, that was really funny, and that also played competitively and put up an excellent performance. they just worked so well together - there were so many funny convos they had in the lobbies in between games. and that's not to mention that they, particularly oli, came prepared for the event, with all the optimal strats down. when it came down to it in dodgebolt, they popped all the way off: oli had the most insane anime moment in the final round when he stared down hbomb as he shot, then immediately took him out in one shot. fruit did so well with his shooting and dodging (after doing some dodgebolt practice beforehand with zeuz), and finally WON. after five losses over a course of two years! shelby also finally won again after 2.5 years! it was such a long awaited, well deserved win and i'm so happy i was there to witness it. my favorite moments from them would definitely be their meltdown and sky battle. (linking a fan-uploaded vod here because there isn't one uploaded by any of the creators)

mcc 24 cyan coyotes winning sot (pearl, jojo, hannah, aimsey)

oh cyan24. anyone that has ever been on this blog knows just how much i fucking adore this team. from the excitement of seeing it be announced, with hannah's mcc debut and pearl and jojo getting a round 2 after mcc 23, to all the vod reviewing and practice streams they did, where hannah painstakingly went over every single game and made google docs for ideal strats and where they also just chilled and chatted as they played (jojo and pearl talking about their cats will always be a fav moment), to event day when all their practice and hard work paid OFF. i could make a whole other post about them alone, but suffice it to say that them winning sands of time was such an electrifying moment because it's known to be the most intense and complex mcc game, both revered and feared by the playerbase. and for a team with a newcomer to win it was just so insanely exhilarating, especially since hannah was unsurprisingly the most nervous about it. cyan24's sot run has since become compulsory watching for anyone wishing to vod review to learn more about sands of time, simply because of how clean, efficient and what a masterclass in comms it is. in particular, aimsey's sandkeeping performance here was so strong, it got them labeled as one of the best sandkeepers in the event just off its sheer strength. xe had extremely clear, concise callouts, and on top of that the whole team went in knowing exactly what they were doing, so there was absolutely no time wasted and their run was very optimised. and their reaction upon seeing they came 1st will never not make me smile because they're all just so overjoyed and on cloud 9. highly, highly recommend going back to watch this if you haven't yet - it might not particularly flashy or spectacular, but it's just so well played, with a fantastic comeback story behind it (they were 7th overall before this game and 4th after, and were widely predicted to come 10th place by the reddit. because reddit.) it's also through this team that i got introduced to hannah and aimsey, who are both such incredibly lovely people and fun to watch not just in mcc but in general.

the entire second half of pete's mcc 25

this might just be the most insane individual performance i've ever seen, simply because of how wildly it swings to each extreme of the spectrum. i made another post highlighting this after mcc 25, but the first half of this mcc didn't go too well for pete or his team lime (with captain, antvenom and jimmy). they were in 10th place overall, with pete being 40th individual after survival games. and then, the second half, which consisted entirely of individual based movement games, came in. if you've ever watched or even just heard about pete in mcc, you'd know that he's known for being incredibly strong in all of the movement games, and i don't think there could be a better display of that than his four game run here which lifted him from 40th at the beginning to 8th at the end. just watching him get 1st in ace race was an insane moment, and from there he came 2nd in hole in the wall, 1st in tgttos and 3rd in parkour tag. what made this all the more fun was how casual he was throughout all of this - it's not like he knew he was dead last individually, and was tryharding as a result of that. he was just chilling and playing the games like he normally would anyways. in between games in the lobby he remarked "i think i might be good at the movement games, and bad at the pvp ones. i don't know, might need a few more events to test this out." i definitely recommend watching his ace race if nothing else - his commentary is super funny and his reaction at the end when he wins is just great.

mcc pride 22 yellow yaks buildmart (grian, scott, gem, shelby)

oh buildmart, buildmart, buildmart. i don't think even one post would be enough for me to fully cover and talk about my thoughts on the very tumultuous history this game has had throughout season 2, especially this year. which is why i feel that yellow pride 22, and the mind blowing dominance they showed in this game, is all the more important. it's four people who are extremely strong at buildmart, have incredible comms and coordination skills, and also happen to be damn good at building. they're all just on the same page the whole game, with grian as the manager helping steer them throughout. i'd like to note that shelby is normally known for being strong at buildmart particularly as a builder, but here, she acts as the floater responsible for gathering all the blocks and listening to grian's commands. a team would have to be extremely strong in buildmart to have shelby be their floater, and this one obviously was. if you include non canon events, this team actually holds the record for the highest scoring buildmart performance of the season, which was at one point also held by grian's team orange 17. in an era of mcc where buildmart has only gotten increasingly maligned and controversial, this performance just serves as a great reminder of all the merits of buildmart and of how the game is intended to be played at its finest.
