My thoughts on Seabound!!! 🌊🌊🌊 (1/4)

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

Finally Nya's season! Our queen, our water goddess, our amazing girl gets what she deserves! 😍😍😍

What I know about the season beforehand is that Nya's powers apparently are getting problematic for some reasons? Which is a pretty common topic in other shows but it's a first in Ninjago, usually the elemental powers don't have focus and I LOVE that we now get to see stuff like that 💕💕💕

I know there should be Wojira involved, trusting The Island to deliver that little foreshadowing at the end of the episode 🤷‍♀️ Also Maya is back... MAYA IS FINALLY BACK AFTER SEVEN SEASONS YES!!! 😭😭😭

I have nothing else to say, I have no idea what this will bring, hopefully something as good as Master of the Mountain! 🖤

Alright, here we go!

GENERAL THOUGHTS

Warning reader, I might be fangirling to an extreme because I love mah girl Nya and I've been wanting Kai and Nya's parents to be back ever since Hands of Time ended. So yeah... screaming alert 😅

At this point I don't doubt that the intro is great, we reached such a level of animation and we got The Fold 😍😍 Love the marine vibe and how it's similar to The Island, because it's a great intro 👌

NOW I like the writing! Maybe they rushed the dialogue's quality for The Island to get here? It's just fun and in character, maybe it's just me but I'm enjoying it a lot for now

How many episodes are in this? Wiki says ten, then I checked again and it's sixteen like with Master of Mountain... eh, it looks good so far so it's fine whatever happens 🤷‍♀️

A BIG SPLASH

Oohhh, new villain! One that uses... flames... huh, does she know there's literally a master of fire in the ninja team? Eh whatever she looks cute, give it up for Miss Demeanor!! 👏👏

Wait... OMG IS THAT ERIN MATTHEWS??? WE GOT MACY!! ❤❤❤

Whoa, we're finding out where did the order of the vengestone from season 13 come from?? YAS! CONTINUITY!

Aaahhh, thank you Ninjago! You gave me back Nya the perfectionist 😂 I was worried her reaction to her powers wasn't going to be in character but it looks fair so far. Brings me back to Possession, my favorite season 💙💙💙

WE GOT BACK THE FACT THAT SHE CAN MAKE IT RAIN!!! YAS!!! I might be easy to please but I love these details 🤩

🤯🤯🤯 Okay they are definitely going somewhere this time and I LOVE IT, because wow. WOW. Are we actually addressing the forever questioned fact that wind and water weren't elements that Chen needed at the Tournament? Are we giving a reason for them to exist outside the main set of elements and the elemental masters?? Duuuude, season 15 don't let me stop you, keep going 😍

Mm, so water and wind are connected to Wojira (now I see the connection with the special). Are we setting the ground for a new master of wind? 😏😏 It's risky going for a Morro replacement but it's a super intriguing idea! Oooor Edgy Boy TM might come back? WHO KNOWS I'M CURIOUS ANYWAY 🤩

Love how it is universal knowledge that Nya is super indipendent 👌

YES YES FINALLY WE'RE TALKING ABOUT MAYA!!! 😍😍😍 Is it too much hoping into a Ray cameo as well?? Pleaaaase? Also addressing Krux after so many seasons, this feels exciting!! 😊

This is what I'm talking about, training, fighting scenes, show me everything that water goddess can do! 🌊🌊🌊

Aaahhh, Nya flexing her mightiness through anger, just to remind us that she is the descendant of a water master as much as of a fire master 😅

Imma just slow clap for The Fold because this is another amazing intro, one of those things in this show that stays awesome no matter what happens 👍👍

So Maya gave Nya her discipline and perfectionism, but not the passion behind it 😂 I like this, it's not your conventional master of water, although I'd say it's different from the impression she gave me back in HoT. Maybe this is how she is when she's not trapped for fifty years? 😅😅

Is it too much asking for Kai and Ray bonding while the water women get the work done? 😅😅

Is this the sequel of Green Eggs and Ham?

Oh it's seaweed nevermind... at breakfast? I'm all for sushi rolls but this is a little 😅 Although since Maya missed their childhood she probably never cooked meals for them... how did I get myself sad 😢

Whoa, Maya is a strict teacher! I got flashbacks from my first and only dance lesson, teachers nitpicking every single pose, uuurrrggg I feel ya waterlily 😡

Again, not a fan of Misako, but coming from her the whole speech about wanting to be there for her child makes a lot of sense

Also this scene makes a lot of sense. Nya grew up to be indipendent, one that succeed in most of stuff without problems, she built her life without any help and doesn't look for it. Kai grew up more insecure, he got some walls up but loves to take care of others and be taken care of. With a childhood lost he looks forward to a bit of softness ❤❤

Did Maya make real bacon for that sandwich? Do I smell some favoritism? 😅 Or maybe she really wants Nya to get onto the water mind setting idk 🤷‍♀️

Little tiny complain, why isn't Jay doing the fixing? Did he give up mechanics completely? It feels like we haven't seen him do tech stuff in so long, I miss techy boy in action 😞

And no, having to check on the bathroom doesn't count 😅

Maya looks more calm now, I think she's trying to act more reasonable and she's got good points 👍 I know people were a little weirded out by how more cheerful she looks in comparison to Hands of Time, but I think she gets the most serious and rational when time needs. That's actually fascinating of her 🤔

So, I showed my friend this, and it then led to me ranting about who's probably gonna die. Me: Time to start theorizing! Okay, so first let's list off who's "died": •Zane •Nya (season six was weird) •Cole (he was a ghost) •(Technically) Sensei (we dunno where he is) •Garmadon •Zane's dad •Morro Okay. So that leaves us with: •Kai •Jay •Ray (Kai and Nya's Dad) •Maya (Kai and Nya's mom) •Misako (I wouldn't care) •Lloyd •(Technically) Sensei My money is on either Sensei or one of Kai and Nya's parents My friend: Not sensei Me: But at this point, Lloyd has basically taken over as Sensei and leader, though, so it wouldn't surprise me if they made a very emotional episode about Wu's death Like Oogway (the old turtle) in Kung Fu Panda My friend: Noooo Me: It makes sense, though I mean, think of it this way: •Lloyd is the Chosen One and the team leader, so they wouldn't kill him, and it seems like season eight is going to be about Lloyd again •They started off the entire show with Kai, so I doubt they'd kill him •Misako is the only parent that Lloyd has left, and basically the ninjas' secondary source of wisdom •I doubt they'd kill Jay, because he's their comic relief character •Jay's parents don't really add to the story too much, but I don't think they'd kill Ed or Edna •PIXAL is likely Samurai X, and they technically killed her already (her physical body) •Ray and Maya were already thought to be dead, and we already had a scare with Ray, so I don't think they'd kill either of them again So that leaves Sensei Wu: •The team basically spent the entirety of season seven without him, and I feel it was a bit of foreshadowing, almost trying to "wean" the ninja off of relying on him so heavily •Lloyd was "Sensei in Training", and he was actually doing a pretty good job at it •Season eight doesn't air until summer of 2018, and Sensei was sent into the future, so the team would've been functioning without him for a long period of time • So long, in fact, that Lloyd is getting a new, older-sounding voice actor, so it's likely been years •Sensei is old, and has been preparing to die since season one, when they went to destroy the Fangblades •When (if) they DO find Sensei, it'll likely have been YEARS since they've seen him, and he'll probably be dying, or at least close to it, and will probably have one last thing to say to Lloyd in private that we'll learn at the end of the season flashback-style, when Lloyd is recalling everything that Sensei taught them (much like Zane's flashbacks during his death)

Breaking Earth (Ninjago Fanfic): Prologue & Chapter 1

Based roughly after the events of Season 8 (which I have no clue of what they are, but I am including the characters of Ray and Maya).

Haunted by his scar, Cole wonders if it really has an effect on him. Meanwhile, the team is bonding as a large family.

Prologue

The young boy watched the classic car speed away, leaving the exhaust smoke to cover both the boy and his one bag of luggage. With a quick wipe of his nose, the boy reached down with his right arm and strained to lift his heavy load with his long spaghetti-thin arm. The boy dragged both his bag and his dampened spirit towards the staircase that lead to a main building, the center of campus. He didn’t even glance at the giant metal letters that spelled out his new home that he dreaded.

The boy reached the bottom of the concrete stairs and looked up, facing his new future. He slicked back some strings of jet black hair that had fallen onto his forehead, and then lifted the bag once more. He began to climb the stairs, taking each step slowly and begrudgedly.

A third of the way up, the edge of the bag wasn’t lifted high enough to clear the next step, and the pressure in the boy’s sweaty and hurting hands was too much to bear. The handles slipped from his grasp and the luggage tumbled and rolled back down a few steps.

With a groan mixed with a sob of both annoyance and sorrow, the young boy ran his small fingers through his thick hair slicked back with tons of gel, and looked upwards towards the horizon and over the tree tops.

The young boy froze when he saw the mountain.

This boy has seen many a mountain before, but this mountain was shaped, textured, and placed in perfection in every way. The sun shimmered on its rocky surface and the bit of snow at the top was blinding white. The clouds couldn’t hide its grandeur, and it soared over the trees like a master looking over his students. It wasn’t the beauty that made the boy stare; it was the power the mountain emitted that made his heart skip a beat.

A wave of warmness fell over the boy, like he was given a hug from the sun. Suddenly, the boy saw something good in his new situation, something he was ready to dare. He lowered his hands which accidentally knocked his black hair over his forehead, but he did not care: he no longer had strict rules to live by. He untucked his shirt and rolled up his sleeves that showed more of his lanky arms-that needed to change if he was to succeed in this new challange- and then lifted his bag with a new spirit and determination.

The boy never looked back as he headed into the woods to meet his new destiny.

Chapter 1

There was no escape.

The teenager dressed in black had frantically searched every hallway and room in the unfamiliar building. Voices of people he knew echoed everywhere but none could be seen. The walls were unbreakable, as the teenager had found out, and every door lead onto another new room and set of hallways that had no pattern or consistency.

Stopping to catch a breath, both brown eyes frantically scanned the room for any signs of an exit. Every room looked the same: technologically advanced with computer screens of random people, but no real person could be found.

“We need backup!” Echoed a friend from a nearby hallway. “There’s too many of them!” cried another familiar voice from another hallway. “Help us!” came from behind him.

The teenager fell to his knees in both exhaustion and stress. He covered his ears and began to scream to block out the voices, but all it did was make the voices louder and closer.

“STOOOP!” The scared teenager screamed as he lifted his hands above his head and slammed them on the ground. As he did so, his arms lit up to a glowing magma orange. On contact with the floor, disaster struck.

A wave of orange and green energy spewed from the slam and the entire building was instantly leveled. The building wasn’t just knocked down; it was completely annihilated. Concrete debris was now ash. Computer and metallic technology was mere rubber sprinkles. The environment had completely altered from a building to a light rain of ash and rubber, all from the destruction of the glowing arms.

The teenager draped in his black robes slowly stood in the sea of ash, rubber, and pebbles. Shaking with fear, he looked at the damage he had done.

“Help,” came a weak cry from behind him.

The teen spun around and saw a group of colorfully dressed teenagers lying still on the sea of ash. The one standing rushed to the group and stared in horror as their skin began to crack and drift away as if they were ash too.

“No..” whispered the one in black. He felt something brush his leg. He looked down.

The cracked face of his best friend stared upwards. “What have you done,” he whispered as his body began to decay to ash.

The teenager standing pulled back his hood, letting thick black hair to fall over his face as he fell to his knees and grabbed the blue robes of his best friend. “No! I didn’t mean to-“

The areas he touched on his friend broke to pieces on contact, and he watched as his friend turned into pieces of ash drifting into the wind.

With a huge thud of his heart, the teenager sat up and grabbed the sheets around him, gasping for breath.

He instinctively looked around, making sure he didn’t wake anyone, but then quickly remembered that he had his own room now since moving into the temple. He closed his eyes and tried to sigh in relief.

“Nightmares again, Cole?”

Cole flinched and held back a yell. “Yang?!” he snapped, his heart pounding. “How many times have I asked you nicely not to haunt my room!”

The ghost sensei materialized into his more physical form as he stood at the edge of Cole’s bed. The elderly man sucked in a breath through his teeth and narrowed his eyes. “Please refrain from using the h-word, if you don’t mind.” Sensei Yang spoke calmly.

Cole rolled his eyes and wiped his soaking forehead with his tshirt. “Do you watch me every night?” the ex-ghost groaned as he glared at the master of the house.

The elderly man shrugged. “I wouldn’t use the word every, but it is pretty close to that.”

“Dude,” Cole droned. “That’s just creepy. It makes it worse that you are a ghost.”

“Careful with the g-word too. And not creepy. You are actually funny to watch in your sleep.” The ghost chuckled to himself. “Did you sleep with a stuffed animal when you were younger because it looks like you are supplementing that with your sheets. And it is adorable.”

The black ninja quickly evened out the sheets, including the wad next to him, and then sank his head back into his pillow. “If you don’t mind, I am going to try to go back to sleep.”

The ghost drifted around the side of the bed. “After that nightmare? I don’t think so.”

Flashes of the nightmare returned to Cole’s memory: the never ending maze of the tech building, the voices of his friends, the destruction that he caused, Jay turning into ash…

“Well, I’m going to try.” Cole grumbled as he turned over in his bed, facing away from Sensei Yang.

“Good luck.” The older man grumbled. “Don’t worry, I’ll be here watching you.”

“That’s weird. Don’t ever say that again.”

“That I’m watching you?”

Cole groaned and shut his eyes, trying to fall back asleep. He could hear the faint laughter of his ghost friend behind him.

“I think Ninjago’s greatest hero,” Kai began as he lifted his mug, “Is coffee.”

The team all chuckled at Kai’s remark as they sat around the table in their PJs. Master Wu, however, gasped. “Kai, how could you!” he spoke with a smile. “You are a traitor to tea lovers.” The team then broke out into actual laughter.

Kai clanged his cup with the man sitting next to him. “I still am not used to sharing breakfast with you, Father.” He spoke warmly. Ray smiled and ruffled his son’s already messy hair. “I have been waiting for these moments for almost two decades, and every moment I am with you is a memory that I will never forget.”

Nya, who overheard that conversation, smiled and sipped her coffee. She turned to her boyfriend, whose spine was basically visible under his striped pjs. “Jay, why are you sitting up so straight?” Nya whispered into his ear.

“Your parents are present,” Jay spoke through the corner of his mouth. “I suddenly realize the importance of pleasing your parents.”

Nya giggled and lightly punched his arm. “They will embrace you, so you don’t have to try to be anyone else. Besides, I’m dating you, not a fake version of you.”

Nya kissed his cheek and Jay relaxed some. Just then, Maya walked past. “Good morning sweetie,” she said as she walked by. “Morning, mom,” Nya smiled as those words left her lips.

Maya turned to the teenage boy. “Good morning Jay,” she said just as sweetly.

“Good morning Miss Maya.” Jay said back quickly.

The older woman grinned. “Please, just call me Maya.”

“Okay,” Jay squeaked as the black haired lady kept walking past. Nya took Jay’s hand under the table and squeezed it. Jay held onto it throughout breakfast.

Misako sat down in between Lloyd and Sensei Wu, giving her son a kiss on the forehead and the elder a kiss on the cheek. “Good morning to you both, Zane is almost done in the kitchen.”

“Whatever he is making smells delicious,” Lloyd commented as the kitchen doors swung wide, revealing the titanium nindroid holding a platter with a pink apron tied firmly around his body.

“What an entrance,” Ray whispered to Maya as she sat down next to him.

Zane slid the platter on the middle of the table, revealing a heap of golden-brown scrambled eggs, sizzling bacon and sausage, fluffy pancakes, and a bowl of steaming grits.

“I love when Zane cooks,” Jay said with his mouth watering.

Zane untied his apron and sat in his seat. “Shall we start?”

“Wait, we are still missing someone,” Lloyd said. “Did anyone wake Cole?”

“No need,” came the person Lloyd spoke of as he turned to corner to the dining room with a yawn. “I could smell the bacon from my room.”

The team laughed as Cole took his seat next to Jay. “Alright,” Master Lloyd said as he looked around the table at the large and happy family. “Let’s dig in!”

Within seconds, it was harder to decide if the clatter of plates and silverware were louder than the voices and laughs of the family around the table.

Cole wiped his face with his towel and ruffled his wet hair. The steam of the hot shower fogged the mirror, but the glowing green scar was very visible through the clouded reflection. The ninja paused, then wiped the glass with his hand so he could see his face clearly. He gingerly touched his scar and traced his finger on the mark. There was no harsh feeling to the touch, and Cole imagined it was just a permanent mark of his ghost life to forever haunt his image. He stepped back and looked at himself, especially eyeing that scar. Finally, he shrugged, for he thought it looked pretty cool. He fixed his hair and quickly dressed into his ninja robes before exiting his room.

Jay was leaving his quarters at the same time. “Hey, you okay? This morning at breakfast it looked like you didn’t get a lick of sleep.” The blue ninja asked as he fixed his robes.

Cole shrugged. “I got some. There were a few bumps in my dreams, but I got enough sleep.”

“That’s good,” Jay noted. “I haven’t really asked this, but does your scar hurt? It looks really cool but I dunno if it’s painful or anything…”

Cole shook his head. “No, I don’t even feel it.”

Jay raised an eyebrow as the two made their way down the stairs. “Really?”

Cole nodded with a small grin. “Sometimes I forget its even there.”

The two shared a chuckle as they walked out the front door to the Bounty parked on the floating landform. Cole scratched at an itch on the back of his neck and tried to forget about his nightmare last night

My thoughts on Seabound!!! 🌊🌊🌊 (3/4)

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

Yep yep yep, I'm liking this season a lot! 😍 Although I hope we'll get into a more frantic situation now, like with more battles and more bonding moments (Nya and Maya hopefully, but with Bentho too 🦈🦈🦈)! We got half a season to go, I'M READY!! 😎😎

Alright, here we go!

GENERAL THOUGHTS

I do like the season a lot, maybe MoM was a little more cohesive? Idk but it's not a big complain, I still love it so far 😍

Also maybe I would've liked more interactions between Nya and Maya about how they've been apart for so long, they had a chit chat but I would've loved even more. Maybe with Nya saying that it was fine and she grew up only to realize she is still hurt by that, even though it wasn't Maya's fault. I still like how they did it, I wished there was more that's it 🤷‍♀️

While I do make sense to Maya's behavior, that while it seems a little different from Hands of Time it had its logic in my opinion, maybe Ray feels a little weird? He seems less courageous than before, and it was established that he is a hothead like his son so that came off as unusual 🤔🤔

But I do love the fact that he's here and he's bonding with his son, for real, I've been waiting for this for so long so I'm happy nonetheless 🤩

Maybe I'm just easy to please and I take all I can get idk 😅

THE STORM AMULET

Oh, are we gonna address the wind element? It feels like we haven't really seen a Morro reference since Hands of Time, that would be cool! 😍 I mean, why even mentioning the wind then 😅😅

Well what do you know, they tracked them, who saw that coming?... me, I saw that coming... we all did probably 🤷‍♀️

I liked The Island yet it was not as exciting as I hoped for, but now understand the meaning of it. The ninja helped the keepers and they are all allies. Without The Island the moment where Mammatus gives Nya the amulet wouldn't be as meaningful

Is it just me or Nya looked even more gorgeous during that moment?... just me huh? Okay then 😂💕

Wait that's a fake? Wait... UNCLE POWERS?!? OMG THAT I ACTUALLY DIDN'T SEE COMING 🤯

Here I thought he was just messing around, he always makes things harder 😅 Or maybe better? I mean, they kinda missed a bullet on this one...

Jay somehow had his own TV show in the past and yet he's got that horrible acting skills wth 😂😂😂

Kalmaar is a very cool villain, like, deeply evil. Not only he's calculated and merciless, he stops at nothing to get what he wants. And the people that get in the way? He wants them to suffer because they had dared to confront him 😳

And yes the voice does help a lot, I'm sorry I'll keep saying it until the season is over 😂 (or even beyond? Please cast Giles again LEGO 🥺🥺🥺)

Yep, master prankster Wu, that's what I love 👌👌 I always thought Wu had become a father figure for Kai at the beginning, so seeing Ray and Wu in the same picture feels very wholesome to me 😚

Is this a little throwback to Possession too? Nya seems to always control better water when she doesn't actually think about it. When her feelings are free, so are her powers 🌊🌊🌊

Also this opens up more possibilities! Creatures connected with other elements might get summoned too! I would love something like that 😍😍

This was NEAT, or maybe I just missed Kai that much ❤ What's next??
