As far as New Year's resolutions go I'm actually doing pretty okay at keeping to them. Here's hoping I can do more sketching for graphic design while I'm at work.

as someone who has most of my dragon-related fandom experience in dragonriders of pern, which necessarily has a complex relationship with its author, i would like to lean on your thoughts for a question on a different dragon media.

does the eragon fandom have meta about what counts as canon? ex. from interviews, from the illustrated guidebook, and so on. does it have a history of interpretation?

im gonna be honest I was never in the Eragon fandom, I've read the books when I was too young to have internet access and now only returned to Eragon after learning that my friend has read it too, so my "fandom" is really just the two of us brainrotting about it together and posting our thoughts on tumblr

Oh my GOD y'all I just saw a post and it made me feel vindicated about something I totally forgot bc it was like. "People act like doing a lot of things (drinking, partying, having sex, etc) while having schizophrenia is a bad thing" and like. Goddd I don't know if y'all remember this, but yk how Sun having schizophrenia was a topic for a while bc of Sun's hallucinations?

Do you guys also remember like. that someone made a post saying that Sun should not have been drinking wine at all because of his schizophrenia??? And how they were very firm that Sun was making his disorder, like, worse? by drinking???

Cuz. I remember thinking it was so weird to assume that, despite Sun insisting "no, I haven't even been drinking enough to get proper drunk, it's not a problem and I'll even cut back because people are getting worried," they were so sure that Sun was just totally throwing himself down the drain bc schizophrenic people Shouldn't be drinking at all. apparently.

And I just. It's so weird remembering that bc wow, that really Was a kinda trashy take huh? Like maybe for some folks, if they drink, their hallucinations or their delusions will get worse yk? But. That's not a guarantee. A schizophrenic person knowing their boundaries with alcohol shouldn't still be seen as this deeply tragic thing. Like wow, you're not really viewing schizophrenic people as People, are you 🤨

Whilst I hand you guys a couple of Wrench doodles, rate this embarrassing instance out of 10 that just happened to me:

For the second time in my entire ICT course, I used irrelevant vocabulary to answer a test question (thankfully just a progress checker test, not the actual thing!!). First time that it happened I ended up using ionic bonds to explain how a laser printer worked. The second time I used the word formulae (which apparently is mathematic vocabulary and not just used to describe some recipe like in SpongeBob) to explain the advantages HTML developers can gain from website templates☠️

thank you for your kind words and for the advice! the lady at the pharmacy counter also recommended i look to see if there are manufacturer coupons for my specific drugs, or ask my doctor if there's approved generics/alternatives that would work for me. i'm still gonna try and see if a stern phone call with my insurance will get them to actually cover my meds again like they used to but if that doesn't work out i definitely will be looking to see where else i can save a few bucks
