So I decided to make a bloopers to celebrate 300 followers :)

I thought and was like why would I choose one fic to write bloopers about so I am gonna write all my Bullfrog and Rayman fic’s bloopers (But because there is a lot published I can’t do a lot for one fic)

“You are over one hundred?”

He quickly sit up with the most arrogant, playful grin you ever saw him wearing, “Ahhh, I know. I get it. It’s me isn’t it?”

You burst into laughing, “Holy shit, what? You?! No way!” You chocked between your laughing fit, hitting his side playfully.

“Shit!” He yelped, losing his balance and falling off of the tree. You freaked out, crawling to the edge, “Rayman!!?”

A painful muffled moan come from him, “..am fine….”

On The Run

You two run for your dear little lives, meantime trying to escape the spears throwing at you two, only for you to lose your balance and face plan on the ground, a few spears falling on you causing you to grunt in pain. Everyone stopping their act and start to snicker. Rayman comes to your side laughing, “Run, Y/n! Run! They are coming to get our asses!"

You scoffed turning to him, you can finally question him. But you halted seeing him strugle. "What are you doing?"

He turned to you, "Oh nothing it's just--" he pull out a rose under him and smirked, "This is for you."

He was inviding your space, "Are we about to kiss?"

You smack him on the head, "Tell the lines right! We've been trying to take this scene for an hour!"

"You okay?" Rayman glanced back.

You were struggling inside the cauldron, "Shit I am sorry, I can't feel the ground under my feet—" accidently pulling Rayman with you as you two were tied together. You both loose your balance falling together with the cauldron, "Fuck!"

"Well, yes, but it's mostly because... uh... fuck I forget my line." Rayman groaned

"Again? Really?"

"What?"

The camera lands on the two kissing agressivly. The two soon loose balance and fall.

He dipped you down, "Oh god you are heavy." He wheezed out jokingly. "Slipping! We are falling!" He yelled teasingly.

Playing with his clothes as if they are suffocating him, "God, I don't like these clothes at all. They are so tight."

"Shut up and play along." You scoffed

You were about to slap him to wake up. “WAKE UP BITCH” and you just did that

You shake him outside of the plane, the cold didn’t seemed to faze him, “Fuck, He actually slept? Again?”

You glanced around and smirked mischievously, letting him go off of the plane. “Heh.”

“Light! It’s been so long since I’ve heard from you— What are you both doing?” He paused walking over the view of the camera as he stared at you and Rayman’s dance

Rooftop Talks

You notice he pulled out a can of juice. He took its straw and dipped it into the box, “Wants some?”

“Sure.” You leaned in for a sip. After a long sip you let it go with a sigh. Bullfrog poked his tongue out trying to get the straw in his own mouth and sips on it with a happy hum.

Someone from the background snickered, “You know that you two technically kissed right?”

You flushed, “Shut the fuck up.”

He took its straw and dipped it into the box, “Wants some?”

"Sure.” You leaned in for a sip. After a long sip you let it go coughing, "Ah fuck." You chocked loudly.

"Oh shit."

Don’t Leave

You are carrying Bullfrog on your back as he wraps his arms around your shoulders tightly.

“Mm you are so warm.”

You wheezed, “bullfrog…can’t breath..”

Bullfrog covered in fake blood, he dips his hands inside the pail full of them, and flap his hands around, “Blood. Bleh. Bleh. For you and for you, mes amis. Je vomis du sang.”

You wheezed on the hall.

You accidentally hit his head on the door while carrying him inside. He hissed in pain and you panic.

“HOLY SHIT. I AM SO SORRY—“

You two roll around on top of each other fighting. You were nearly able to escape and get up from the ground but he jumped on top of you like a basketball player with a huge snowball on his hands, hitting you right in the head. “REVENGEEEE” You both fell on the snow, he on top of you as he laughed. You screamed in fright as he held you hostage under the snow. “YOU WANTED NEIGE. THERE YOU HAVE IT—“

“FUCK—“ He slipped and fell on his butt.

“Holy shit.”

He laughed, “I am so sorry! One more time, s’il te plaît!”

He grabbed your arm, “Let’s go!”

He pulled you causing you to lose your balance and drop your drink, he fell along with you “Shit.”

You two laughed.

“I am sorry!” He yelled, “We have to took this scene again!”

“Please, my arm gonna pull off—“ You choked out.

“Hey, Bullfrog where are you going?”

He said his line and waited for you to shoot him with a snowball but he burst out laughing to see you miss him. Again.

You laughed falling on your knees, “NOO, THAT WAS MY LAST STRENGTH. WE ARE TRYING THIS FOR AN HOUR. WHY AM I MISSING YOU EVERYTIMEEEE!!!”

He fell on his side wheezing. “Want- want some break?” He choked out.

“Please.” You sobbed. “I can’t feel my feet and hands in this snow!”

You glance up from the chair you are sitting in the balcony, to see a movement “FUCK!” You jump on your seat in fright to see Bullfrog, not expecting him.

He quickly apologized with a concern and amused face as you gripped your chest and took deep breaths.

Rayman Ship Posting: Canon Rayman Edition

I thought about releasing a very special edition of Rayman Head Canons for Valentines Day.

Before we begin, a little message: When I first started out on this blog, I was nervous about bringing my shipping ideas public. I have a habit of doing a bit of it whenever I have a new fandom fixation.

"Rayman Ship Posting" is head canons around the cast's view on romance.

Since this blog has been converted into an ask blog, if you want to send ship themed asks or starters. You can.

Most of these posts are general information not directed at a specific ship. Exceptions will be tagged with specific ship tags. It's also featuring the Canonical characters since I had these written out and stored in my drafts before Captain Laserhawk a Blood Dragon Remix launched. I'll do CLH specific Ship posting later.

Let's Begin! This is quite long, so it'll be with a keep reading cut here for easier navigation.

He’s the guy that will love chatting with you. He wants to learn everything he can about you! Your interests, your hobbies, your favorite activities, even your favorite food. He’s going to make this about you, not him. He really doesn’t care for boasting or bragging about himself.

If you are handicapped, Rayman will do his absolute best to make sure your needs are taken care of. Rayman is well versed in sign language, so he can communicate and understand you if his partner is deaf and/or mute.

Rayman is a loving dude that gushes over his partners and adores physical affection like hugs, kisses, and he is a MASSIVE cuddle-bug. He will literally cling to you if you let him hug you. He is full of love and he’s going to share that with you.

One of his favorite ways of bonding is that he’ll rest his head on your chest and just listen to the sound of your heartbeat. He also really likes pampering your hair needs. He will brush it, braid it, help you with adornments.

Rayman is incredibly compassionate and will worry about his friends, family, and his partner frequently. If he knows you are sad he will grab his ukulele, sit with his back pressed against yours, and he’ll start to play a few songs and will sometimes sing along to it if he knows it will make you feel better. He is also always willing to talk if you need to. He will listen. If you need him to do anything for you, he’ll gladly do it if will make you happy or will cheer you up. If it's revealed that he was the cause of your distress, he gets flustered about it. He'll work hard to earn your forgiveness. He’ll do his best to make it up to you somehow.

Rayman is a massive foodie, but his guilty pleasure is milk chocolate. If you get him a box of chocolates, it means the world to him. He will get starry-eyed, gasp and shout “I LOVE YOU!” in delight. If you go about gifting chocolate to Rayman, please keep it simple. Whatever you do, don’t go invest in some kind of expensive chocolate masterpiece. Dude will become conflicted because he wants to eat it but it’s too beautiful to eat. He ends up crying because he can’t do it and that ruins his day.

Rayman really likes flowers and these tend to be the gift of choice he gives you. He will make you flower crowns, he will go and hand pick a bouquet of them for you. Sometimes he has a habit of just picking wildflowers near his person while you lay near him and he’ll just decorate your hair with them absent-mindedly. He also loves when you give HIM flower crowns or stick a flower in his hair.

Rayman loves to dance and will try to include you on them. While he’s more fond of upbeat tunes or even rock and roll, he’s not immune to offering you a slow dance.

Rayman’s not very fond of doing household chores but it doesn’t normally stop him from doing them. If something is going on with you or you simply don’t feel well, he will cover the chores that you would normally handle with no questions asked on top of his own daily chores. He doesn’t enjoy it, but he’ll still do them. He never causes a fuss over it either, he just dramatically collapses on the sofa or bed in an attempt at playful teasing. He has had some times where he will let chores pile up. Give him a reminder to take care of it. Sometimes he just needs a bit of motivation. He may even turn the daily chores into a game so it'll motivate him to get stuff done.

Rayman adores children. He gushes about his little nieces and nephews at the Globox household frequently. Loves to entertain them and loves to play with them. He wants a partner that has that same love for children. He wants to have one or two of his own one day, but he would like to see the day where he doesn’t have to constantly worry about his home being under attack before he decides to settle down and maybe try to start a family of his own. He is on board with adoptions and would prefer this route when it came to having kids. He wants to give kids who had it rough a chance at a better life.

Despite the overall carefree nature, the silliness, sometimes smug or sassy nature he can depict at times, Rayman has had a very traumatic past. He has been through a lot and he needs someone that can support the emotional baggage here so to speak. He tends to keep this to himself, but once you have earned his trust, he will open up to what he's dealt with in the past and how it's effected him.

Rayman sometimes suffers flashbacks to certain traumatic events he faced in his life; the biggest being the events during the robot pirate invasion. These flashbacks do not last long and he’s normally quick to recover from them, though they will leave him rattled and sometimes he will start shaking, sweating, and panting for a short time.

He is prone to suffering night terrors where he will wake up in very visible distress. While he’s not a screamer, he does wake up shaking and sweating. They can get to be so bad he will have to call you up. Sometimes he will ask if either he can come over to spend the night, or ask if you can come instead.

He also gets a bit claustrophobic in tight cramped spaces due the imprisonment he faced during the pirate invasion, as well as the imprisonment he endured from the rabbids.

He really does need the emotional support and cherishes when you try to help him through. If you are able to stick by him and continue to support him, you might just be “the one” in his eyes. He will return the favor with the support tenfold. If you ever need him, at any hour of the day, he will be there. He will come over if you ask him to, and he’s always within reach of a mobile phone. You can call him at any hour of the day if you need his support or comfort.

Rayman The Animated Series: Headcanons

-Character ages: Rayman is 15. Flips is 5. Betina is 21. Cookie is 44. LacMac is 700, since I presume he's an ageless fauna.

-Rayman has been living independently since he was 7. He is the last of his species, which means he also lost his entire family in the calamity that killed them all. I like to think of the entire series' premise being about Rayman accepting the circus fugitives as his new family. He's the middle child, Betina's the older sister, Flips is the baby sister, Cookie being the dad, and LacMac as the fun awkward uncle.

-Rigatoni gets arrested at the end of the series after Grub found out he illegally abducted a minor (Rayman, I mean). However, he never got arrested for kiddnapping in general, cuz you know our law system is fucked. Ravorbeard runs the circus now.

-After no longer having to worry about running from the police, the gang all moved in together in a big comfy home, rather than going their separate ways.

-Rayman does a lot of standard, early 2000s teen stuff. Eat and sleep all day, spend hours on his video games, read inappropriate magazines, and listen to his CD player at full volume.

okay, so. I think the definitive version of rayman 2 would be considered by most to be the dreamcast version. it's kind of the smoothest version of the game and has the best graphics along with highest framerate if I'm not mistaken. along with that it's almost entirely faithful to the original pc/n64 release without straying too much away from it like some other versions did. I've never personally played the dreamcast version (though I really should!), but yeah, I hear it's the best one!

I, myself, have played the pc version and revolution. the pc version of the game is pretty good! I will say though it runs like trash on modern hardware, it took me ages to get it to work the first time I played it. even playing the game on an emulator is faster and easier to set up than trying to get the official pc release to work. (thank you ray2fix and rayman control panel, you are angels sent from the heavens). I'm doing a replay of it right now, and I can't exit out of the game's window while playing it, or the game crashes... so, that's fun 😅

my personal favourite version is - as I mentioned being the other one I played - REVOLUTION! the ps2 port/remaster. it's so good. I adore the new voiceacting they added ('new' as in the ps1 version was the only other one to have voiceacting, but it was still very much there). they had much better vocal directing and line delivery than the ps1 version of the game!

one thing I especially adore about this version is the HUB WORLDS - I am a sucker for open-world hubs and it just brings me so much joy. makes my brain do a lil happy dance. I like all the new stuff they added to this version! though I can completely understand if some people might think it's bloated - it's got so much new content that at times it almost feels like a different game entirely. I like it, though! (also 'rayman revolution' is in general a very badass game title and VERY fitting for the game's plot).

then there's... oh boy, the ps1 version. it's not good. it's, uh, it's kind of off doing its own thing, LOL. it's got the worst graphics, some... very strange voiceacting, and it's missing a ton of levels (as well as the final boss of the game being redone entirely. and it's bad). this is generally regarded as the worst version of the game, and that's well deserved (sorry ps1... still love you).

there's the n64 version, which, along with the pc version, is an og. these are just sorta regarded as the 'base' game versions. I don't have much to say about the n64 version. it's pretty alright.

now, there are more releases than just this - seriously, rayman 2 has been ported to every goddamn piece of technology imaginable, you can probably play it on your microwave. but these are the main ones!

Then an ornery flick from Rayman, she'd get some on her cheek, only furthering that grin as she splashed a surprising amount of mud on him back despite being so small, chuckling, "Well-hayo, aren't you feisty as usual ya little munchkin, hm? Oh but looksie here, looks like you got more mud on your face... right- HERE!~" Shifting in that large size, giving him a rather obnoxious mud-noogie before bringing him to his feet, caring thumbs behind strong hands as his face was wiped clean as he laughed with adoring eyes staring up at her, tongue-blepping out the side of her mouth to tease him a little. Yet Rayman paused for a moment as his eyes widened, Betilla not surprised as that smile deepened, a hero needs to know how to move on their feet after all at what he did next.

"I am the chirping birds in their endless mirth at every little cute mistake you make, watching you become ever humble."

Pushing her out of the way as Rayman would tumble with the rather large monster that rushed forward without warning, his strength abound as he delivered a flurry of punches like a dervish, the creature grunting, growling as it snapped its jaws in vain at Rayman as Betilla had already reacted and recovered- side-eyeing them both. Fluttering in the background and impressed with a corner of her mouth curving that row of near shimmering teeth into a loving smirk, her little protector taking on the world for her and everyone's sake as usual as she gave a subtle, passive whistle of admiration.

"I am the babbling brook just around the corner from the roaring waterfall of the pride in joy I have in you, at every triumph you make, watching you become ever stronger."

Yet the fight escalated as the creature grew far and above Betilla's max size, an interested eyebrow raised from the calm, ever smiling fairy, a finger tapping her chin until she heard it.

Betilla encouraged him as much as Rayman began to shout in a battle cry forward, watching him from the side as always, "Punch him out the box like how I showed you, boy-o." Never taking the final blow as it was not her story to ever tell, the phantom dervish flying forward in that dash now, leaving a trailing blast as he plowed through the underbrush, surrounded in the light as he shot like a cannonball through the beast, going up, up and... oh, wait that's really far up.

Actually sounding concerned, the colossal beast having been blasted apart as she let go of the poofing body, "R-RAYMAN! You little knucklehead, you're using too much strength again!" Watching him go nearly rocketing into the sky in that divine double uppercut, Betilla would rapidly flutter her wings in actual effort, the leaves shaking from her zipping speed forward.

"Hear the whisper in the leaves, then see the speckles of light shining through and shown true like the morning rain to guide you on terra's path. The light of a distant star, dancing with you always, no matter where you are, I will reach you in your darkest hour. Giving a smile behind every giggle, joke, lecture, and prod to keep you grounded as you go around every corner, up and over the babbling brook- on top of the roaring waterfall overlooking the trees and the endless life below it."

Waking up in a gasp, Rayman picked himself off the ground at the edge of the cliffside, the rocks below and the ever-spanning sea and then the forest and its endless life on the other side. Something catching his eye though in the rocks as a brow raised, his head tilting curiously as he had an eye for these things. Something soundlessly approaching from behind as fate called him forward, a hand wordlessly drew closer as he pressed ever to the edge as the choking waters crashed and roared below.

"And that's where you'll find it."

Rayman found himself snapping out of it as he wiggled and comically made a distressed noise as his balance was nearly lost. Yet suddenly getting scruffed, a bit annoyed as that face pressed into his from the side, but relief and warmth in that playful tone, "Hay Hay-o! Rayman, you only have so many life artifacts I've left around that you've collected you little doink. They're not infinite for you, but... good job, let's say we get some food now, o-kayo?"

Rayman seemed to really like the story as it concluded, but it didn't seem to satisfy the person below who pondered aloud, making noises in that gibberish as if that was it? "Hm? Yup, yup! That's all she wrote, nothing more than that I'm afraid, sorry but not sorry, buck. 'Cause what can I say, I told you it was boring and thems the rules!"

"Anyway..."

The story done for the day, people getting up as the great fairy uttered a whisper in the wind, a wordless sight going to what was almost seen, just out of view- eyes narrowing as all turned away from her, that gaze going to the side past the speckles of sun like shimmering raindrops through the leaves on terra's path, a dancing star of light guiding you around every corner, up and over the babbling brook past the roaring waterfall and the endless life below it of what was etched in stone that had been almost seen.

A mutter and demented smile crept up the corners of that maw like a contained sickness, knowing what was there among the other countless names of stories told, and more to come from her other ever loving yet guiding hand to give them what they deserved.

literally just seeing him at the end of every level. i’d specifically be like “vwoop, here he comes!” every time i saw him slide in lmao- the dance in The Reveal is also fun, but i think him Appearing sticks in my brain the most cuz it happens constantly. his dialogue in certain levels is also v good but at that point i might as well just say his entire existence is my “favorite moment” XD

Idea for a story:

Ales being dragged along with Rayman for a level (or multiple) by riding in his hoodie is an idea i had foreeeeever ago and i still think it’d be fun, especially with all the potential banter XD

could also be fun for him to interact with the M/ario characters if you had the R/abbids crossover actually include the Raymond side of things like it should’ve

also for Dark Magician specific stuff it’d be fun for him to interact with Betilla or player characters who aren’t Ray during Origins because god knows who would or wouldn’t believe him. AND interacting with the Antitoons but that’s just a Mr. Dark story in general

Unpopular opinion:

the ‘simping for Dark’ thing is repetitive and samey and sometimes even revokes any other personality traits Ales might otherwise have when some people do it. i know people like it, but i feel like it’d be more fun to play with if he just... has a strong admiration for Dark because he’s stronger and bolder than him 

(especially if you go with Ales having been the limbless Magician because he was literally HIDING for all of R1 and then still runs away during Origins AND Legends)

...also Dark Magician au kinda broke it for me because Mr. Dark and Ales are the same person in that case XD

That is so good! This is a mosquito living in a swamp! Where did he get those?

From the first image here you could probably tell Bzzit seems a bit Disgruntled. And here, you can see he is outright Angry! That’s because he is the first mini-boss in the game, so he means a little bit of business.

And it seems it’s not just his hands and feet that are floaty, because he completely disassembles temporarily when hit! Yeowch!

When Bzzit is defeated... he cries. Rayman does his silly victory dance, while this poor mosquito is legitimately hurt by this whole experience. But then, something wonderful happens.

Rayman notices Bzzit’s suffering. He stops dancing, and gives him reassuring pats on the eyeball. They high-five.

And just like that, so easily, they become friends! It was all just a misunderstanding, maybe they weren’t in quite the right mindsets a few minutes ago, but that’s okay, and it’s in the past now. A massive, needle-faced parasite is, in this game, someone with feelings, who really just wants a friend. And this, along with the simplicity with which this friendship is shown happening, is really one of the most wonderful things I have ever seen in a video game!

Right away, in the following portion of the level, Bzzit gives Rayman a ride across the water! What would Rayman have done without friendship? Died, I guess!

WhIn Rayman 2, Bzzit himself does not appear, but there are mosquitoes flying harmlessly around the environment. I know I said I love the big ol’ eyes and proboscis look, but this is a bit silly, now! Where are your thorax and abdomen? When you slurp, where does it go? Do you even slurp at all? It would be such a sad life to have a proboscis and not slurp!

Thankfully, in Rayman Revolution, the sort of remake/enhanced version of Rayman 2, Bzzit DOES appear, now with actual legs! And he owns a boat! Why does he have a boat? Maybe it reminds him of his aquatic larval and pupal stages. Regardless, Rayman could really go for a boat right about now, and Bzzit lets him use it, because they are friends who help each other!

While none are confirmed or denied to be Bzzit, many mosquitoes appear in Rayman Origins, where they are once again rideable friends! Mosquito riding is now better than ever, as they can not only shoot little energy blasts, but also inhale and blast enemies into and out of their proboscis! Bzzit was too shy to do that part. I just don’t like the new teeth they have. A distinct head base? On MY cartoon mosquito?!

Bzzit has not made any appearances in the series in quite a long time, but the appearances he did make were so wonderful! Look! He’s slurping.

Homestar Runner OC: Little Miss

I can’t make art for the life of me, so I’m just gonna describe her appearance here.

Little Miss is interesting in that she has hands and feet...but no arms or legs! She doesn’t even have a neck! They just kinda...float nearby her (think Rayman).

Anyways. Like Coach Z, her head is all white, but she has tall, black oval eyes and a tiny visible mouth that’s also pitch black, usually in the shape of a small circle/dot. She also has black hair, with spiky bangs over her forehead (like with that one Mii hairstyle) and has pigtails, the hairties being pink in color.

That mouth can grow very wide, though, into a smile/frown that kinda look like those you’d find on cartoon/clip art theatre masks. It will maintain its original shape if she’s surprised by something or other, it just grows bigger.

Her eyes can turn into lines like this: -_-. And she spontaneously gets eyebrow-like black lines to help with expressions like sadness and anger. They can also take the form of u’s for closed eyes and n’s for cheery eyes.

She wears a pink dress with a black heart on the front. A little below that, she’s wearing little black dance shoes (think of Preshy’s shoes).

She wears white gloves, which show to only have three fingers (if the thumb counts as one), so she has rather small hands. It’s debatable whether or not these are actually her hands, but they do seem to cover her would-be wrists, so...who knows?

During the wintertime, she wears a black-and-white hat with a pom-pom on it. No scarf though, because no neck.

She’s pretty short. Like, Strong Bad short. Except a bit shorter. Taller than the Cheat (obviously), but still rather short.

For the same joke as Homestar’s missing(?) arms & hands (along with all the other characters this applies too), sometimes her hands and feet will move far from her to the point where no normal arms or legs would reach. Same goes with her head. Try pulling the glove off? Doesn't even hurt, you just stole her hand. Same goes for her shoes.

Her voice would sound somewhat childish, but she’s actually in her early twenties. I might follow-up this post with my personal example.

Her personality ties into this slightly. She seems childish and energetic to some, acting similar to Homestar even. But to others, she’s violently murderous. Think of her as being like Homestar’s cousins, the rejected characters Preshy & Rafferty. She’s sadistic to some people, but when others are around, she’s very nice & kind.

But nobody can deny that, regardless, she’s kinda creepy. Not Coach Z creepy, but like...scary creepy. That freakin’ smile, for example. Remember, it can get very wide. She also shares some of the more artistic talents that Strong Sad and Marzipan share, but she tends to paint odd things, like...eyes. A lot of eyes. And she likes to whisper for no real reason other than to scare people, especially if it’s to say something off-putting, like “I know what you did.”

She’s kinda supposed to be a character that jokes about the “creepy little girl” trope in horror movies overall, from her color pallet to her personality. She’s also based off of the rejected characters I’ve already mentioned, Preshy more-so.

And that’s it. I hope you enjoy me not remembering that I made this post by the time I wake up.

How about RayLy? It's a classic~.

The sounds of merriment, laughter and music echoed all across the pond surrounding the Fairy Council. The structure itself was no less festive than the people frolicking around it, bathing in multitudes of lights, Lums and lamps alike. Cheer was not unfamiliar around these hallowed grounds, but some nights allowed for more than others.

This eve was one of those. Fairies, Teensies, Glutes and all other manner of creatures gathered around, old friends, families and acquaintances greeting each other. All of them anxious for night to fall and the moons to appear. A simple, recurring, yet no less welcomed celebration, granting some respite to a world often thrown off-balance.

This same respite carried over to the pair sitting on one of the small islands surrounding the Council. They sat by the edge and gazed up at the Moons as they continued their eternal journey towards each other. The celebration followed along with their journey, although the gradual increase in volume hardly fazed either of its spectators. Even the tray of snacks behind them had barely been touched.

“Are you sure Globox will be alright?” Ly asked, glancing at her partner in stargazing. “He was looking at those plum jugs in a pretty suspicious way.”

“I don’t think we’ll need to worry about him.” Rayman said, smiling. “Last I saw he was busy asking Uglette up for a dance, so they’re probably too busy tearing up the place.”

Ly chuckled, remembering the few occasions she’d seen them dance. While the two were mostly known for their jolly waddling through life, dancing was a different matter entirely. All of a sudden, no fundamental force, gravity or any such trifling matter would stop them from having a fun time, always drawing confusion from those who didn’t know them very well and loud cheering from everyone else.

Once her laughter abated, she spoke up again, “Thanks for joining me out here.”

“Don’t mention it. It’s getting a bit too cramped in there anyway.” he shrugged.

She smiled, knowing that was just an excuse, at best. The limbless had always been a fairly social figure, easily winning the favor of any crowd within minutes. And that was without counting for the fact that virtually everyone around the Glade knew his name. Those from outside the Glade may not have always known his name, but were aware of his deeds at least.

“You’ve got that look on your face again.”

She flinched, the twitch of her ears making it impossible to hide that she had briefly zoned out. Naturally, she would try to do so anyway.

“What look?” she asked.

“You know the one.” he said, grinning.

“Don’t be coy with me, Rayman.” she raised a brow, trying very hard not to smile.

“Alright.” he said. “You see, I’m very good at observing. And so, there’s a couple of basic ‘Ly-expressions’ I’ve learned over the years.”

Even before he finished the sentence, the fairy was contemplating on whether to hear him out, or deliver a preemptive slap. The fact that she hadn’t already was his signal to continue.

“There’s the ‘Stop bothering me, I’m studying’ face-” he leaned into his palms a bit, pretending his fingers were lines upon lines in a particularly elaborate book. “-which is usually pretty hard to observe.”

With still no immediate retaliation in sight, he quickly continued.

“-the ‘You have one minute to ask me to dance, otherwise I’ll drag you off myself’-”

He proceeded to present a grin with positively feline mischievousness, complete with him portraying her ears with his hands. It was an expression she’d only shown once and had been relentlessly teased about ever since.

“You never complained.” she said under her breath, just about ready to give up on hiding her smile.

“And the 'I’ve got too much on my mind, but I don’t want to burden you with any of it’.” he looked away towards the Moons with an exaggerated, forlorn look.

A bit of red rose into her cheeks over how embarrassingly close he was, even for such a lighthearted rib.

“And which look did I have just now?” she asked, raising a brow.

“Well, you haven’t got a book with you.” he mused. “And we’re not dancing, so that leaves only one option.”

She groaned and poked him in the side. “You’re far too cheeky for your own good.”

“Guilty as charged.” the limbless chuckled. Nevertheless, he scooted a little closer, dropping the coy grin for just a friendly smile. “So, what’s eating you?”

“I was talking with Betilla, before everyone arrived.” she said. There really was really no point to try and pretend like he was wrong. “She said Edith wants to take me under her wings, for a while.”

“Isn’t that great though?” he asked. “You won’t find better teachers anywhere. It’s what you always wanted.”

“I know. But this wouldn’t be a brief visit.” she sighed. “I’d have to be her live-in student. Apprentice even, I’m not sure. But I’d be gone for a few years, possibly even more.”

Rayman tilted his head. “That’s what you’re worried about? That we’d forget you, or something?”

“I would certainly hope not!” she protested in mock-offense. “But still, we’re talking years here, Rayman. I like it here, I like being in the Glade, with everyone.”

“Are you scared of leaving?”

“I’m scared of not coming back.” she said. “Whether it’s for a good or bad reason.”

“There’s nothing bad enough that we wouldn’t welcome you back. You know that.”

She looked at him with a faint, sad smile, and he knew not to press any further. There were things the fairy always found difficult to discuss, even at the best of times. Things she had seen, done or could not do. Rayman knew the faint memory of fire and metal in her eyes well.

He didn’t like avoiding it, his nature rebelled against allowing his friend to suffer for something he believed had little to do with her. But it was a discussion for another time, another day. It was unseemly to drag a dark cloud into pleasant occasion.

“Must you go then?” he asked, redirecting the conversation.

“The nymphs put a lot of work into teaching me. It would be disrespectful of me to back out now.”

“That’s not an answer.” he scowled slightly.

“But it’s the truth.” she sighed. “And it’s something I worked my whole life for. I’m just… not keen on spending too much time away…”

There was something left hanging from her words, but there was little need to say it out loud.

“And I’d prefer if you didn’t see a wrinkly old fairy, the next time we meet.” she tried to joke, just as he always would. It only helped her remember how difficult it must be for him to keep it up.

“I think Betilla would take offense to that.” Rayman played along all the same, cracking a smile. “And who knows, maybe I’ll also be tall and-”

The fairy couldn’t hold back an amused snort. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” she apologized, the incredulous look on his face making it very difficult for her to be sincere. “It’s just really hard to imagine you getting taller.”

“Just you wait.” he scoffed. “You’ll need a chair just to look me in the eyes!”

They both ended up laughing, sharing increasingly more absurd height levels he would undoubtedly reach. It was a pleasant distraction from any heavier thoughts. By the time they ran out of ideas, the Moons were just about the cross into each other. The festivities had died down somewhat, as many have chosen to sit by and await the celestial event in awe, or just to relax after partaking in the Council’s hospitality.

“I’m not going anywhere, Ly.” Rayman spoke up again after some time, still smiling. “At least, not anywhere you can’t find me. Even if it’ll take a little longer for us to see each other.”

Ly giggled briefly and pulled him closer, running her fingers through his rowdy tufts of hair.

“How do you do it? How do you never worry about anything?”

“Of course I worry.” he snuggled up to her now, resting his head against her arm. “It’s why I asked in the first place.”

Ly smiled and continued to ruffle his hair, lacing the soft touch with an affectionate appreciation for his concern. When she looked in his eyes, it was like gazing into a clear pond. He had always been like this, for as long as she could remember. 

A trusted friend through everything and a piercing light to cut through any nightmare, whether they rampaged on the surface, or in one’s mind. Often brash, sometimes downright infuriating in his free-spirited disregard for consequences, always more keen to follow whatever duties he chose to hold close to his heart, rather than anything on paper. 

It was a trait that has not changed in years and showed no sign that it would. Perhaps one that she could also embrace, in time.

As the Moons finally joined in the night sky, so did their hands clasp together under their light. Celestial and mortal, all so alike. Sometimes together and sometimes apart, but always compelled to meet again by the guidance of the stars.

// I’m not gonna get my hopes up too much. That would definitely not be a smart move especially since the characters for Fighter Pass 2 have long been selected for a while now. That and I don’t wanna sound like a broken record and/or annoying about all of this talk. But...

Methinks I see Rayman popping up on more and more in prediction talk in the Smash community. This is all speculation and nothing official, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. But a lot of weird things have been happening as of recently and people have been bringing up some pretty nifty points on why Rayman might be considered as a character in FP2:

In the most recent set of mii costumes, two are Ubisoft reps, being the Rabbids and Assassin Creed’s Altaïr. I was pretty shocked to see that a big face like Rayman wasn’t given the same rep as well. This very well could be a sign that he’s being saved as a fighter.

Along with the Altaïr costume reveal was supposedly a new Assassin’s Creed remix. BUT this is nowhere to be seen in Super Smash Bros Ultimate yet. I could easily see this being implemented in the choice of music for Rayman and his fighter pack. What else are they going to do with it? Y’know, unless we somehow get an Assassins Creed fighter rep instead.

These costumes aren’t the only kind of Ubisoft rep we’ve seen in Smash. We’ve got a number of spirits that showed up in the base game such as characters from Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle and Rayman himself. In SSB4, we got not just one trophy from the Rayman series, but THREE being Rayman, Globox, and Barbara. This shows that the Smash team in someway had Rayman on their radar. I’m surprised to see that this time around in Ultimate we only got a Rayman spirit and no one else from the series as spirits as well. Could it be because they’re saving them for Rayman’s fighter pack? Or it could just be that the Rayman series is just not getting as big of a rep this time around, which I guess I could see that. 

Nintendo and Ubisoft have been on very good terms for many years and have been more than happy to work on some of the biggest collaborations with one another. Some of these include Nintendo exclusive extras on Ubisoft games (Just Dance, Rayman Legends, etc.) and Ubisoft games having big Nintendo crossovers (Mario+Rabbids, Starlink: Battle for Atlas x Star Fox). Despite this, there is still no fighters rep from Ubisoft in Smash yet.

The inclusion of an ARMS rep just might break down the Assist Trophy/Spirit rule. While we got nothing to go off of to know which ARMS character is going to be the one, Spring Man, Ribbon Girl, Ninjara, and Min Min were all included in the list of possibilities. All these characters are already represented in Smash as costumes, assist trophies, and/or spirits. Including one of these characters as a fighter will break these rules.

There’s been a trademark update reported for Rayman that’s still under approval and it’s for 2020. There was also a strange little Rayman picture left behind with it.

Rayman’s 25th anniversary is not far from now. I know Ubisoft didn’t do much to celebrate Rayman’s 20th (Can we get an F in the chat), but I’m genuinely going to be surprised if SOMETHING isn’t done this time around. This is going to be a bit of a stretch, but a possible Smash reveal could be a nice celebration for this.

Ubisoft very recently held a poll regarding questions about playing experience on different systems and games including the Nintendo Switch and its exclusive entries. Many people have reported that questions regarding Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and its DLC were later removed from the survey.

Also made by Ubisoft was a bot called Sam. Sam basically gives people information on games they’ve been playing and/or Ubisoft content when they ask. For awhile now, this bot had a reply on Super Smash Bros Ultimate regarding DLC, the latest Ubisoft mii costumes, and that the bot was rooting for Rayman to be in FP2. Recently, this reply and information on Super Smash Bros Ultimate has mysteriously been removed and replaced with a new reply.

Lastly, this is probably the biggest stretch out of everything listed, but a double reveal including the ARMS fighter and Rayman would make some sort of sense since they would have resemblances with the ways they play.

Like mentioned before, this is all still just a ton of speculation and nothing is official. This could all very well lead to nowhere and we don’t get Rayman. I’m honestly alright with that outcome and have been ready to accept it for awhile now. 

I’m very happy with all that we’ve gotten in Smash so far (I’m still in utter disbelief we’ve gotten characters like Shulk, K Rool, and Banjo-Kazooie. Thank you Smash team and Sakurai aaaaaah) and know the Smash team and Sakurai have worked very very hard on making all of this possible! They are continuing to do so and I can’t be anymore thankful for it all. This could go either way, but whatever way it goes, I’m still going to be happy!

Anyways, that uh...That wraps up my senseless talk about this. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. ;v;

Predictions for the 11/1/18 Smash Direct

I’m not even going to bother trying to guess what Spirits mode is. I mean, the name itself is only assumed. I’m pretty convinced that the name was correctly deciphered, but... I really have no idea what the mode itself might be.

Since it has its own section on the home screen, it’s presumably a big single-player mode... probably bigger than Adventure Mode in Melee, but a lot less involved than Subspace Emissary in Brawl? Then again, this game is proving to be above and beyond anyone’s expectations, so who knows. Some people have guessed that “spirits” might be meant literally, as Mario, Mega Man, and Luigi have all been shown being killed in character reveal trailers... who knows.

Anyway, predictions! Now that Konami is back in the game with three characters (none of whom are Goemon, because I’m the only person who wants that), I feel pretty confident in saying that we’re going to see more representatives from Namco and Sega. Maybe Capcom as well, since making Ken an echo of Ryu is too obvious for them NOT to do it.

Since I’m already talking about obvious echo fighters, let’s start with Sega. Shadow being an echo of Sonic feels like it HAS to happen, like the Echo Fighter designation was implemented just to allow it. I wouldn’t be surprised if they left it at that, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if they got one more character in... though I’m not sure who. I’d like it to be Vyse from Skies of Arcadia, but that’s another Goemon situation. For the record, no, Bayonetta doesn’t count as a Sega representative; their only involvement was in publishing the first game.

The most likely candidate is Eggman, but it would be kinda weird for them to have three characters all from Sonic. There aren’t a lot of other iconic Sega characters that would work in a fighting game, though. NiGHTS basically has no moveset that isn’t flight-based, Ulala and Beat are kinda obscure and not really fan-favorites... AiAi could be interesting.

What is practically guaranteed, however, is a second Namco representative. Their relationship with Nintendo has been pretty good lately, and not only did they work on Smash Bros. 4, they’re working on Ultimate as well. I guess they could get Ms. Pac-man as an echo fighter, but that’s pretty boring... If anything, it should be a costume. Klonoa would be a solid choice, but I think I’ve heard someone say he’s an assist trophy? Mr. Driller is also possible, but that’s a big fat EH for me. What I’m hoping for is Lloyd Irving from Tales of Symphonia. I’m sure I’ve said this before, but I think his dual-wielding and Artes would allow him to stand out from all the other sword users.

That leaves the question of Square Enix. I would love to see a Dragon Quest character, but despite the series’ popularity in Japan, it’s pretty hard to pin down one character that’s both iconic and in demand. Loto, Alena? A lot of the fighters that have made it into the game were the ones that ranked high on the Smash Ballot, so Geno IS a possibility, especially since there was a Geno costume for Miis in the last game. I’m sure a lot of people want Crono, but I can’t see that happening... then again, the opposite of what I predict tends to happen, so who knows. Aside from Geno, I think the most likely candidate is Vivi... and while the only Nintendo games he’s been in have been Theatrhythm, that totally counts.

Finally, a new third party! Ubisoft and Nintendo’s relationship has always been kinda weird... Ubisoft always has games ready for the launch of a Nintendo system so that they can get some of that sweet sweet launch window “there’s nothing else to buy for it” revenue. They’re also still releasing games for the Wii (yes, really, Just Dance 2019 has a Wii version), but at the same time they’ve been reluctant to release Nintendo ports of some games for fear of low sales.

All that said, however, they’ve been getting along great recently. Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle was a big hit for both of them, Nintendo allowed them to use Fox in No Man’s Skylanders Starlink, Nintendo’s getting exclusives and timed exclusives and the new Assassin’s Creed on some kind of streaming service in Japan... What I’m trying to say is, if two days from now isn’t the day we’re getting Rayman in Smash, it’s never happening. Also, Rabbids as assist trophies... and hell, why not start off the presentation with Rayman’s character reveal? Yeah, make that the big thing to kick it off with.

Considering we’ve already gotten... What, six, seven Nintendo characters, it’s hard to imagine we’re getting many more, if any. Smash 4 only got ten new characters before DLC, and nine or ten have already been announced for Ultimate despite Sakurai saying not to expect many newcomers. I mean, who’s even plausible? King Hippo, Alph, Rex & Pyra, Decidueye? Dixie MAYBE... but I’m expecting there to only be one more, and for it to be Paper Mario. I know that Sakurai tends to show a little favoritism to his own games, but I don’t see him adding Bandana Dee or Medusa.

Oh, and the final character reveal is going to be Banjo & Kazooie. That French leak is absolutely not real, but you know Sakurai wants to make a game that nobody can complain about.
