I think my favorite segment of AOT was Battle of Liberio.

It was wonderful to see our characters back in action, to witness how much they had changed during the time skip, to see how their skill and technology changed. But it was also a point of no return, a beginning of the messy end. It was a simple yet effective way to show our heroes becoming like the people they fought. The conversation between Eren and Rainer was phenomenal and the buildup to Eren’s transformation and incoming slaughter was so intense.

Also it was finally a break from five episodes of new characters we don’t know rambling how they hate their own race dear god it was agonizing at times.

Also that annoying twink got eaten alive 10/10 would watch him die again

watch across the spiderverse at least twice you can see so much in the beginning, you can see what they were talking about (hinting at miles being an anomaly) and making sense at how/why they weren't trying to include him.

Its soooooo obvious miguel and jess were maybe afraid??? of miles?? bc hes simply Not Supposed To Be A Spider-Person At All but all miles wanted was to connect with the only people in the multiverse who could truly understand him and it sucks bc of how much gwen and miles wanted to see him. They both did, they didn't choose not to, it was strictly forbidden to them because of miles being an anomaly.

why wouldnt they want to see him!? gwen kept the one picture of miles with her spidersuit- something she couldn't open up to about anyone anymore than her identity. The whole beginning was gwen moving and living her days in monotony, both as gwen and spider-woman, she was depressed and just going through the motions bc her father thought she (but not her-her) was a murderer, and that by extension, she killed her own best friend. the only one who would understand was miles. yes they've all had their canon event and stuff, but only gwen and miles have had a gun pointed at their face by their father who was ultimately trying to protect them. and then she got a once in a lifetime opportunity from a group who already had apprehension to her, and while there were a lot of reasons to her going her first interest was to get to see miles again.

She snuck away the first chance she got, im guessing they kept her on a short leash for both solo missions and anything involving miles' dimension. Months later she finally gets her chance BECAUSE of a different anomaly. one they could catch. she sneaks away just for a few minutes, just to say hi to her friend and gets in worse trouble because she just wanted to talk to him a little longer.

so when he follows her into basically his own grave she tries hard to get him to leave. she pushes him away immediately, she gets angry and curt and rude and puts her armor back on but pavitr thinks hes just new and its a regular day. He thinks gwen is being mean Just for following her, not because this is The Anomaly™️ and will get in huge trouble just for seeing Miles.

and then she gets in so much trouble. just because she wanted to see her friend for a second longer.

Thanks for answering my reply! Yeah, when I mention "problems" with part 2, this is one of them. The inconsistency with these episodes are insane and I found myself irritated the lack of talk with them from everywhere else (thankfully I found some folks who notice them, though they are the minority). It also bothered me that after Bee was forced back into hiding, Bear Necessities and Warzone had the family acting back happy-go-lucky like the situation never happened. (1|2)

I’m offended by the implication that I wouldn’t want to hear a rant about it.

Here’s the thing about inconsistencies. Minor ones are perfectly fine, but when a show has more outstanding lore and moments that parallel and link to other episodes, that’s when it becomes frustrating and upsetting. There’s got to be a good explanation as to why Bee’s symptoms were all over the place (like low charge and low energon messes with the symptoms, or that there are two parts to low energon symptoms, the first part’s more erratic, the second is when it’s more consistent- or something like that.)

Words cannot begin to describe how angry I get when a character is absent and no one says anything until they come back. Unless the Malto’s are all THAT emotionally constipated or their memory is just that bad, there’s no excuse as to why they were able to move on.

the Halsin romance was sadly so flat as well :( You get like what? one fucking scene and then a kiss if you ask him. it is damn sad.

Random thoughts about the new DST update (mostly gushing)

AHOY! THAR BE SPOILERS!

I just... love the writing of this game so much, particularly the flavour text. Especially the flavour text.

Right now I’m referring to the “A Little Drama” update, particularly each of the game’s characters stage shows. This person on youtube got all the references written down and I’m just delighted. Please behold:

Keeping in mind that I got this from a video recorded during the Beta phase and that some things might have changed (I have only been able to witness Wilson’s and Wendy’s in person myself) I just... adore it. The humour, the way this tells us about the characters’ personalities and backgrounds, how each fit the kind of media/texts they would know of.  *WX DOING A MOTIVATIONAL SPEECH, I CAN’T* Now, about the story told in the play... I love it, and I’m very intrigued to see if we will ever see what it actually happened between Maxwell and Charlie after they got pulled into the constant. Seems like there was a time when they cohabited in the “Shadow realm/Throne room” before Maxwell brought in survivours into the Constant. So far we have Charlie’s point of view and part of Maxwell’s past, so I wonder if Klei will let the fans fill in the blanks or if they will eventually tell the full story themselves. 

I was hoping for two things to not happen with that play and so far it looks like I got my wishes: One was the play not confirming that there was once a romance between Maxwell and Charlie. Nothing against Maxlie as a ship, it’s just not my cuppa and I am Wilson/Maxwell garbage forever don’t look at me I don’t think it would add anything to the lore imo.  And the other was for the events to not contradict the plot of “Ragtime”, the long-form comic I’ve been sitting on for the last 3 years that I have discussed in detail with friends but because I’m a mess I have yet to share any of it online. 

That might change soon, maybe. I’m still struggling with time and energy management and I never know when I’m going to be overwhelmed by random things. But the script is completely written for the 1st (of 3) acts and the general plot of the whole thing is laid out. Heck, I even sketched the whole 1st chapter! I just have to figure out how to tackle this monster of a project in a digestible way.  Okay yeah ramble over. I’m just very excited about the game but also terrified at the prospect of the canon lore contradicting the story I have worked on because I am way too slow and tired. Yeah, a totally normal thing to feel. Yeah.
