so like imagine like anakin and obi-wan live in apartments that face each other and are separated by a narrrow alleyway, so when both are out on their own balconies, they can pretty easily see each other and talk. they don’t but they could is the thing, it’s just a weird sort of line to step over, being in someone’s space so intimately but not being invited there, witnessing someone’s life move along like an unstoppable ocean current, but not being in the water with them.

anakin knows what book obi-wan is reading and which newspaper he subscribes to. obi-wan knows anakin’s favored brand of beer and how he sounds when he sings his baby to sleep. anakin has overheard many arguments between obi-wan and his lawyer and his estranged wife about the divorce case. they’re physically close enough that when anakin steps out one summer night, obi-wan can wordlessly pass him a cigarette over the divide. “i don’t smoke normally,” obi-wan says, with a flick of his wrist to shake loose the ash. “i know,” anakin says, because he does. “divorce was finalized yesterday,” obi-wan says. “i know,” anakin says, because he does. “my name’s obi-wan,” obi-wan says. “anakin,” anakin says because he hadn’t known that.

i'm a day late, but to mark the occasion of AM turning ten i recorded a little acoustic cover of one of my fave songs off the album ♥️

i only recently started playing again (and learned to play this song yesterday) so it's definitely somewhat rough around the edges, but i figured i'd share it anyway just as a little tribute to my all time favourite band and the record's birthday? idk, happy birthday AM <3 🎂

when tara can finally stumble her way through a song on guitar, what do you think she learns to play?

i kept thinking and thinking and thinking about this and it made me realize even more how hard it would be for tara to play. like, painfully hard, seeing you almost always need your middle and ring fingers for the chords. so i wasn't sure if tara would start by learning a song she likes or just a random one in an "easy songs to play for beginners" list.

taking this into consideration, she'd probably list a few songs she wanted to learn and check which ones seemed easier to play.

one she wanted to learn (and i think could be the first!) but took a while was dreams by fleetwood mac; not because it was particularly hard, seeing the song mainly focuses on two chords (F and G), but the positions were kinda hard and it hurt a lot when she first tried it.

i wanna say at the point where tara decided to learn how to play, she was giving therapy and physical therapy another try. and whenever she did try to play and her fingers were shaking, her grip wasn't firm, or holding it for more than a few seconds hurt so much she had to open her hand and put the guitar down, it motivated her even more to put an effort into her next physical therapy session.

It's acoustic!! And it's my aunt's guitar:) well def mine now but like. She gave it to me when I wanted to learn how to play (now... 2 years ago? Yeeee) and i could've also gotten her electric guitar & amp but it was a bit Too Much and I don't have a lot of room and I wanted to take it one step at a time so I haven't played electric yet.

I definitely prefer playing chords (my sister's the opposite, she hates chords and loves memorizing complicated tabs), but I play both!!

Since I Saw Vienna was my fav song before. Y'know. HELP like literally was my number one song on Spotify ever since I found it in 2020 (3 years in a row) so...🧍 It's still one of my favs to play ngl and is the only finger style song I have memorised though I am currently learning Night We Met by Lord Huron!!
