Some fun tidbits from the Ted Raimi panel at Smoky Mountain Terror on June 8th:

Ted is a big fan of Tennessee, apparently. He's also fond of whiskey/bourbon made in Tennessee, and his first experience with moonshine was a bit rough

Ted likes to buy his costumes from the movies/TV shows he's been in. He owns Joxer's costume, Tim's (from SeaQuest), and Wes's (from Supernatural), among others

Ted is hoping for a season 2 of Deadwax. Said he'd be in it in a heartbeat. Fingers crossed!

Ted's favorite death scene out of all of his death scenes is the one from Darkman

Ted has said he hasn't actually had his favorite role yet. Someone asked which role was his favorite, and he said he hasn't done it yet

Ted can't pick his favorite actor or actress he's been in a film/show with. Said it's like picking a favorite child. Also, I don't like to gossip, but... he did say there's someone (I assume an actress) he had a bad experience with and may have said he'd like to ask a female friend to slap this person 👀

Ted went and saw Evil Dead the Musical years ago and didn't know the cast sprays the audience with blood. He also didn't know the cast knew he was front row. Instead of spraying the whole audience, the cast targeted him and doused him in blood. He loved it

And finally... Ted stated he'll be working on a new mo-cap video game soon, but he signed an NDA and can't say anything about it. He did say it's a title people should know though 👀

Very shitty selfie with Ted Raimi from HorrorHound weekend 2024!

Was too nervous to ask for a better one lol, and I probably came off as a rambling idiot. Not saying I'm not one, but still 👀

Im happy i had the opportunity (and nerve) to tell him how his portrayal of Travis in The Quarry inspired me to start writing. Writing a better ending to that game, specifically, but he didn't need to know that 😅

Now I've got a novel in the works, multiple short stories, and I'm helping a friend with his own rpg. One little role can have a big impact!

ted and his hairstyle in millennium crisis remind me of the protagonist of atlantis and some other characters in fiction that have a stereotypically nerdy look and a sciency thing about them (does that make sense?) and oh shit, i have a type. the type is mr raimi. damn no wonder i'm slightly crushing on him lol (also brown eyes are my nemesis and he has them. *melts away*)

so i been thinking👀

i’ve now played the quarry three time in the past like week, in other words im obsessed with it and also in love with ted raimi soooooooo of course i made an oc😌💅 (i used this dollmaker) so have some mikey in different outfits✨

meet mikaela cedar-hackett, you can call her mikey. she’s married to travis hackett (you know i had to) and she’s a werewolf. well she wasn’t always one obviously. after being with travis for some time and marrying him she learned about the whole family secret. werewolves. she could barely believe it when she first heard it, she thought travis was crazy for saying such things. but then little by little everything started to make sense, things like why he’d leave every full moon, disappear into the night without telling her where he was going. why he brought a shot gun with him those nights, arming himself with the silver shells she saw him make at the police station. why he was so stern about keeping her inside every time he’d leave, telling her it wasn’t safe but no more than such a vague warning.

upon learning about the werewolves, mikey didn’t want to stay inside and hide every night. she knew she could help, she wanted to help, they were her family too. with some stubborn convincing and a begrudging travis agreeing, mikey learned all she could about them. learning how it all happened, learning everything travis knew. travis taught her how to shoot a gun, she was taught all his tricks and honestly she got pretty good at it. she accompanied travis every full moon on the hunt for silas, helped her brother in law with keeping him and his kids safe from harming the others. it was all going well until one night one of you slipped up, whoever it was it all happened so fast. one thing lead to another and chris got lose, jumping mikey and biting her neck in the process. travis was devastated, he knew he couldn’t sever her bite from her body and he definitely couldn’t bring himself to kill either his wife or his brother. travis and mikey were left with no choice but to let mikey turn, become a werewolf.

the nights after that were much more difficult, torturous almost. every full moon felt like a ticking time bomb as travis locked his werewolf wife in one of the cells of the police department for her to turn. either he’d watch mikey in her agonizing pain before bursting into her monstrous form, unable to help her, comfort her. or leave her for the night once more, hunting for that dreaded white wolf in hopes of killing him once and for all. if he had a reason to kill that wolf boy before, he definitely had a stronger reason to do it now.

I have so many roles I love this man in, and he has a lot of fun scenes in movies/shows. I suppose, if I had to pick my absolute favorite, I'd go with... this one:
