Magnus protocol rant pt 4??:

So I’m thinking about Colin again, and this man is just so interesting. There’s a few different things he may have been marked by. The eye, it’s pretty likely, and makes sense because of the paranoia and fear of someone watching him, and there’s also the fact that if the OIRA is very similar to the Institute then there’s eye stuff going on everywhere there. But there’s a few things that don’t quite fit. Besides Alice, who we know only had her paranoia start after visiting the Institute, he’s the only one with that sort of paranoia. So I don’t think the OIAR is watching them, at least not too much, (talked about that too a bit in a past post) and I think it’s my little men in the computer who’s listening in. But again, no one else has the paranoia that Colin does.

Another thing, I can’t help but feel the way Jon tried to figure out what was going on, is fundamentally different from how Colin is going about it. Jon was more worried about WHO was listening, who was the secret murderer, at least in s2, and tried to figure it out from a distance, passively gathering information while watching his coworkers from afar. Colin is so much more hands on, and isn’t suspicious of anyone except maybe Lena, he’s not collecting information on his coworkers or the OIAR, at least not that we can tell, and is much more focused of the computers when it comes to his information gathering. If I’m right about him knowing there’s somebody stuck in the computer and they’re the ones watching him, this could explain that, but still.

Now to the bit about the spiral. I can’t stop comparing the way he’s so thorough with his work on the computers to the common obsession with fractals for spiral victims in TMA. The way he’s convinced there’s an answer in there somewhere, following every little lead to its end, reading every line of code, every wire and cord. He quite literally seems to be losing it to the others, crawling around on the ground, muttering to himself, the tantrum he broke Sam’s phone in, to the point where he was sent on mental health leave. Just the fact that if he did start talking about the little men in the computer he’d seem completely insane. That screams spiral to me.

Edit: not to mention the fact TMA 65 was the spiral. Not every tech based episode is gonna be the spiral ofc, but I think it could be an interesting parallel, having both the extremely techy characters fall into the spiral.

Writing has always been part of my life. It was the thing that I was good at. Always in the top English class at school - whenever I couldn't get high marks in English; it really tore down my confidence.

But what really generated my love for writing was fanfiction. That's what kept me going in the hardest time of my life. Especially custom made fanfics with a character that I was shipped with.

And I just want to give back to people who may be in that state of mind. Who feel like they can't talk about their interests to other people because they feel awkward or weird (btw you aren't. you're allowed to like what you like. as long as it doesn't hurt you or others.)

Growing up in the real world, he just a newborn when he came. The only thing he has of his bio parents are a blanket with his name 'Joshua C.' that had a tiny little monkey imprinted next to his name. He kept it over the years and never let it go hoping to find his parents one day and understand what happened. Growing up, he was put in the system being raised by families here and there, he found people who cared for him and others who didn't.

He was close to be adopted once by it didn't go how he might've wanted due to a few legal mix-ups that happened. He was fine with it. He stayed with a couple of good friends who's parents were more than happy to have him live with them.

There he would read comic books like marvel & dc, watch a a lot of movies like Peter Pan, Tangled, Real Steel, The Dark Knight, Avengers, Star Wars. He would grow up mixing himself with ways to escape reality by watching shows, hanging out with friends and always trying to be a good person by the end of the day. Despite it being hard, he sometimes stole from stores to survive which caused him to be treated badly for his crimes.

He wasn't the best at Math or Science to a certain extent, but he was rather good with English and History for some reason. He did trouble reading for a while, a teacher told him it’s problem with ADHD that he would have to work on later in life.

He liked art too, always doodling in his notebook. Over the years he did trying searching for his parents and wondered about his name but never got a clear answer. His last name was given by the first ever family that took him called 'Nolan' and it kinda stick with him. He liked it but he always went with the flow of it all, feeling a little numb by the world around him watching everyone pass by as he stayed in the same spot wondering what’s wrong with him.

Did he screw up somehow?

—Despite the goodness he has gotten, being lucky with things. He did have his harsh moments like shaped him into keeping a guard up every once in a while. Poor kid has had his ass handed to him more than once.

Some families that took him one just wanted the money, he tend to get bullied at school for not knowing he was, he was shy so he didn't always stick up for himself so he ended up a little bruised growing up, but he had a mouth on him for sure. He was a kid, so he may act like a baby when he's hurt or something.

Joshua may be shy, kind, a little bitter like a lemon and like to maintain a positive outlook on life but he is strong willing, doesn't like to listen at times and destroy orders if allowed to survive, he will talk back in his own way and have his mind tinkering with other ideas. He has a small drive within him to go with the flow but keep his head up and make sure to things turn out alright.

In the enchanted forest, when the land found out about Amelia’s pregnancy, people were overjoyed and curious. Gifts were brought by friends, polls were made on names, some of their friends went overboard with designs on the nursery and so much more.

The parents were most excited of all. With the plenty of things that happened in their world, they thought children were out of the question but fate stepped in to say otherwise. Plenty of names were made in the polls, adding middle names for good measure.

When it came to gifts, a certain women in purple couldn’t help the urge but to go shopping in the very markets for stuffed animals and clothes of all kind.

Prince Nikolai Charming walks into the nursery one afternoon as his jaw dropped finding stuffed animals of different kinds all wrapped with a bow. A bear, a tiger, a small pig, a rabbit, and plenty of others. For a moment he thought his wife went overboard when a sweet cloud of purple smoke came popping in beside him as the women inside it grinned.

“You love it?” She said picking up one of the stuffed creatures playing with it’s jaw and said, “This one is Eeyore! Isn’t he cute?”

“You spoiling my child, they haven’t even arrived yet.” He replied with a chuckle reaching for a silly ol’ yellow bear, “Aww.”

“But aren’t they darling?”

“They are. Very are more than welcome to stay in this castle.”

“Wonderful! I also have a stuffed owl being brought up soon.”

The lady of the home walked in to see her husband and friend playing with the toys as if they are were children. She smiled asking, “Did you buy the whole market?”

“Hey! When you marry a prince, you understand the life of shopping for glory items.” Said Mal with a grin, “You love it?”

“I do. Cole will have a say about this, thinking you’re doing this to have your name on the poll.”

“Oh please, we would never..I like Liana as a name.”

“I knew it.” Responded her husband with a cheeky grin, looking over at the blanket laying over the crib the the stuffed bear in hand having an idea for later. He smirked to himself.

Charming moved behind his wife, using the paws of the bear to play the drums softly of her belly hoping it would get a kick out of their son or daughter. And to their surprise, a small kick came in return that startled his wife but got a laugh out of him. Liane laughed too.

Charming laughed, “Our kid seems to like the bear. Hmm, how about Winnie..?”

“..Pooh bear..” She added running her fingers across the stuff toy.

That same night as the two parents were crawling into bed, Charming hasn’t let go of that bear since, using it to tap over his wife’s belly as she laughed telling him to stop.

But he didn’t listen as he said, “Shh we are having father and baby playtime.”

“You’re a menace to society.” She repiled in between giggles.

“I know. I was thinking, for names..Joshua?”

“Joshua? I like it—no, I love it. Our little Josh and for a girl..Nadia?”

“Oooh Nadia..how about Robin? Nadia Robin”

“Pretty works for both!”

The two of them thought name list for a moment as their child kicked their mother again. Charming laugh finding it silly how his baby thinks it funny to frighten their mother as she glared at him not finding it so funny.

She spoke up this time holding up the list as she said, “Joshua..Christopher or Colton, as a middle name?”

He thought about it and snort pretending for a moment a scenario, “Joshua Christopher go to your room, young man..yeah I like it.”

“And Colton?”

“Hmm..Colton Robin, come downstairs for dinner we’re serving chicken!”

“Oooh Robin this time?”

As the parents talked issuing out names and combinations, their son or daughter kicked every once in a while. He was like their little monkey inside their mother’s belly.

It was a late night, Amara Snow sat in the rocking chair of the nursery sewing together fabric to craft the blanket for their newly announced son.

She hummed a little tune instead of sleeping being careful with the needle saying, “You are gonna love it out here, bubba. You can jump around, learn how to read and write, have picnics outside theses walls, go to balls where you can dance past your bedtime..oh and you can hear your father sing.”

As if on cue, the man of the house walked in carrying designs he had for the blanket hearing the last part of her words.

He joked, “I don’t sing, my son.”

“Yes you do.” She replied noticing the papers in his hand, “What’s that?”

“Drawings I made for the blanket to put right next to his name.”

“Oh let me see.”

He reaches down to sit beside her, holding out the drawings to be made into patches for the blanket. One of a monkey, the other of a bear, a bird, a leaf, a crescent moon and a lovely sun.

The two of them choose the monkey to fit their little man best, deciding to place the right next to Joshua’s name in a sweet stylish handwriting. Cole wanted a settle for a stylish font for the name which was a darling choice.

“Our little monkey.” Nikolai joked resting a hand on her belly as a little punch was given in return causing him to gasp, “I thought you were asleep. Go to sleep!”

It was as if their son refuse to listen and kicked his father’s hand again. It was Snow’s turn to laugh at his reaction hearing that their son would be ground til he’s 2, if he doesn’t go to sleep. Her husband sent her a playful glare asking if she found it funny as she nodded.

“Then again, we aren’t much sleepers either hon.” Amelia added mid laugh.

“Not helping.” He respond trying to hide his smirk but failed.

They had their good times and they’re bad with little Joshua despite not being born yet. Times Amelia would feel tired, other moments across during her pregnancy having gotten into some delicate cravings and or not fitting into her old dresses.

It kinda actually kinda cute sometimes, with their friends laughing. Cole would walk into her craving salted caramel cookies in the kitchen stealing one out of her hand taking a large bite as she pouts and glares at him. Charming would admit his one of his favorite moments were the fact that she had theses cravings, which meant he can buy as many treats as he liked. She would sometimes find his stuffing his face with leftovers in the middle of the night instead of resting and he would just give her a witty comeback in return.

Rochelle sometimes find her trying to sew a dress that would actually fit as she giggled wondering, if she’s alright and needed any help as the brunette would only nod.

“Your son is killing me.”

“Don’t talk about my child that way.”

“Joshua is trying to use my body as a punching bag resulting in my sore back and the other times, I’m carving something like pie or pasta.”

“Atta’ boy, he’s going to grow up and have an amazing taste in food like his father.”

Nik would hold back a laugh at his wife’s glare knowing she means well, just tired. Other days she was rather relaxed and chilling like nothing happened, enjoying her time. Other time he would get a glare from her that was rather hilarious to him.

“Are you serious?” She added with a half smile.

He cup her face and smile, “I’m kidding, love. I know you tired but think of this as his way of entertaining you while I’m gone.”

“You’re right, I’m sorry..I’m being a whiny wife to you.”

“It’s not your fault, love. You have every right to be this way.”

“But, I sound like a little bitch..I love our son, I’m just tired..”

“It’s okay. You need to rest.”

“So do you! You have been riding your horse, watching over our friends and practicing you’re fighting with Marlene for weeks now.”

“I’m fine.”

“Nicholas. You need to sleep, I’m worried about you.”

He smiled at how his wife was able to create life and worry about him all the same time despite her tiredness amazed him sometimes. He pressed a kiss to her forehead and then one to her belly promising to draw himself a bath then get some rest later that night after dinner.

The day Joshua was born was an unexpected one. Within their friend group—found family—nothing is ever normal. Despite the circumstances of his birth and having only a few mere moments with him, a promise stayed true. Their son is a trooper no matter what and even if he felt alone in life, he never was due to his parents being there in spirt even if he didn’t know it.

Heck his dad was fighting knights with him in the hallways, holding a sword in one hand and his son perfectly safe in the other. He wiggled a bit didn’t cry, only whimpered softly at the sudden movements. Nik grinned to himself as his gaze fell to his boy.

It also helped that before closing the door to protect their son from danger, Nik reaches for his stuffed bear gently placing it right next to him, as he kissed his forehead. He smiled softly at his son sweet little face, remembering the framed photos of himself as a child at his old home when he just born.

The years when Joshua grew into his teenage-hood, he became more angsty and spiteful than ever before. Yes he was kind, humble enough and honest to everyone he spoke to. But he never felt truly valued or part of his pack. Despite being told time and time again by his father and mother, he was loved. He couldn’t fully comprehend the fact that he was meant to be home, safe and secure with them.

Especially with having an uncle so villainous as Alexander, and his adventures to different parts of the universe.

He decided to have faith in the possibility that he would get there someday and become worthy of the title, a part of the family. Because behind the awkward charm, clumsy tendencies, witty humor and gentle sarcasm held a lost boy from Neverland who was searching for comfort. And he found that comfort in old stuffed bear, Winnie The Pooh, who was there with him since day one of coming into this world as he never let go of him. He will forever be grateful for his father, Nikolai, for placing Pooh in the wardrobe that day, as that bear stayed with since birth.

-> He named Pooh bear, Winnie The Pooh, after the first kind person who treated him fair when he was only five. His kindergarten teacher Winnifred Robinson, as she was known to be a sweetheart towards him and his small set of classmates.

She could see a lot in someone by just the slightest hint of affection in her eyes. It instantly made Joshua smile and want to see the world instead of staying silent, allowing himself to explore creative ideas such as drawing and writing.

Due to spending so much time in her classroom, he would ask him about her thoughts on life and she would respond by saying whatever was on her mind in the most profound positive voice. Her voice was like honey.

Pooh brought support, reassurance and encouragement for him. Sometimes he would cuddle up with Pooh, looking up at the ceiling and just staring down at his chocolate brown buttons as the bear listened to him. It was like Pooh understood him in more ways than one.

Growing up, Pooh became his friend, as the two were going everywhere together. Hell, Joshua would eat his honey salted caramel cookies and play pretend that Pooh’s favorite treat was honey. When he was younger, he lost his silly old bear a couple of time in foster homes, as kids would throw the bear around and try to keep him away in the backyard to be dug up later. Which resulted in him having to wash the stuffed bear later on carefully and then put him on his bed for safety reasons.

-> When he was 14, Pooh ended up with a small cut on his chest and despite all of Joshua’s efforts, his sewing skills weren’t the best. He knew Pooh deserved a chance to look good and dapper in the eyes of his peers. So he found some cherry red fabric from the store across the street and kindly asked a friend, his caregiver at the time, to help him sew a shirt for the stuffed animals.

A few days later, Pooh was given a gift for his efforts, being a little cherry red shirt that covered his chest but left his belly open in the cutest way possible.

Joshua would muttered with a smile, “..silly old bear.”

As Joshua grew older, he became a bit colder than he expected to be but underneath that toughness, he was just as kind and loving as he used to be.

It just takes time for someone to see it, to listen and appreciate him for who he is. However to make sure he didn’t have his feelings hurt, he kept his guard up and watch his surroundings as much as possible. Which resulted in creating personas and short term alias with people he came across.

Some of alias came and went, but others stayed.

It’s how he met his first crush, Ginny Sullivan and her friends. Joshua was unsure of the girl and her two friends, so he decided to make himself an uneasy target and lie about himself.

He remembered he was rushing out of a store after stealing a small toy train, when he bumped into Ginny as she asked, “Woah, watch where you’re going, dummy.”

“So-sorry.” He said picking up his phone that fell on the ground.

“It’s cool. You’re in a rush?”

“More or less..”

“Where you headed?”

“Home.”

He left her on the streets alone until she crossed paths with the blonde girl again at the same spot. The second time, she stopped him, wanting to invite him out for a quick slice of pizza. He was 14 years old, he has nowhere else to be, no harm done right?

Wrong.

After that afternoon with Ginny, he grew to have a small crush on her. He never admitted it because he wasn’t interested in any relationship or anything, but he did regardless. She realized mid conversation she never asked him about his name, as Joshua blinked and said his name was Tim Robins.

And she surprisingly brought it.

Little did he know, Ginny was just using him to get something from the store across the street from the pizzeria. She wanted a pretty little bracelet from the back of the store. Because two weeks later of seeing each other, after a small date at McDonald’s, Ginny wanted to go to the store to buy some extra lipstick and Joshua shrugged deciding it would be a quick trip. He knew he wanted to sneak into that park on the other side of town later on, and she agreed to his request. Ginny grabbed her lipstick, an extra pair of sunglasses, a keychain and that cute little bracelet.

They were out of the store within a few minutes flat, sometime later the two of them were sitting lazily on the swings at the park, chatting and laughing. The two shared a small connection, with his parents always being busy and not having time for them (again, another lie on Joshua’s part), how they wished they could stop time and get a moment to breathe. Ginny smiled holding up the bracelet with a small chain of a flower on it, talking about how everyone is a flower and they just needed time to bloom.

Joshua felt that piece to his core and leaned in to kiss her cheek, taking Ginny by surprise as she pressed a small kiss to his cheek back.

However the moment was cut short, as two police officers found them, taking both teens to jail to be held overnight. Ginny lied saying it wasn’t her fault, that her “boyfriend wanted to treat her nice” as Joshua scoffed telling the officer the truth about what happened. That he had no idea that she stole the bracelet…

Let’s just say the next morning, Ginny didn’t talk to Joshua again and left the guy alone to take the blame. Once he got back to his foster parents, Joshua got a stern talking to and slapped for his actions, grounding him for a long period of time. Thankfully they didn’t press charges on the boy per say.

He climbed into his bed that day, laying down holding up Pooh and said, “Winnie, never fall for some dumb girl..she will just play you.”

He sighed to himself muttered, “..what am I doing? I barely go to school, don’t even bother to have friends..hell, I talk to my old stuff bear, no offense intended Pooh, I’m pathetic..”

“What does pathetic mean?” Said a tiny voice, who open the door to his bedroom with mousy brown hair, green eyes and wearing a blue dress.

His foster sister Darby, only 7 years old, who entered the room, allowing herself to sit on the bed without his permission to do so. Joshua just sighed and rolled his eyes at her explaining what the word meant as she nodded. She asked if he was in trouble and he just nodded.

“How long?” She asked pushing her bangs out of her face.

“No idea..” He answered with a sigh.

“..wh-so what are you gonna do now?”

He chuckled at that remebering that story, “I remember that. Pooh got his head stuck in a hole and his friends had to pull him out afterwards.”

Eventually he did figure it out. It took him a while, especially after his time with Darby’s parents were up, but he did. Joshua would spend time with his friends and the foster care workers, crafting little details of stories to tell one day in his book. He would sent the little drawings to the girl as she would write back in letter in appreciation for his stories.

He even wrote himself into the story as Carter Robins.

Of course, over the years after turning 15 and meeting his family, being his parents, aunts and uncles. Essentially spending some time Belladonna, finding his faith in people and understanding the truth to his history, he grew into changing the name.

He learned small details about his past experiences and hidden memories he had no idea about. Such as his full name, his skill set, his role in the world as peacekeeper among his friends and challenging his own thoughts on who he was meant to be.

It was nice yet difficult as his thoughts, opinions and feelings ate him away in confusion. He was always comparing himself to everyone else and wondered if he did belong there.

And he did. Because like anytime in Joshua’s life, it took time and patience to get to that point of acceptance in order to appreciate that account in his existence. As during an accidental encounter with Belladonna’s discoveries, two of them were sent back in time to the Enchanted Forest, before they were ever even considered ideas in their parent’s minds.

In order to get back and restore the small damage they done, the pair of friends had to go undercover as royals themselves. Thanks to Cole! Bella was not up for the challenge of disguising herself in some snarky little outfit in the beginning but as time passed she began to accept the plan.

Joshua took the lead during beginning of their trip, entering a Royal Ball (Princess Michelle’s party to where she would meet Rochelle for the first time) with Belladonna using fake names.

He announced them as Princess Leia Swan and used his middle name to refer to himself as Prince Christoper Robin.

- okay this is in-line with the manga but still: Mito hates Ging so much that she first lied about Gon’s parents dying in a car crash, then retracted that and told Gon to his face that Ging abandoned him, then admitted at the end of the episode that she forced Ging into a custody battle which. Is objectively the strangest scenario I can imagine.

Episode 2:

- Leorio stops Gon from getting kidnapped (by someone implied to be a child tr*fficker) in episode 2 like HWAT?

- Holy shit the knife he uses during the hunter exam is the same one he took from the kidnapper wow

- Also Gon then spends the rest of the episode following him around and being a Disney Princess so like. Good for him.

- Kurapika is just hanging around most of the episode giving off Main Character Vibes and nothing else.

Episode 3:

- Killua is such a cocky little shit and Gon is polite even when making trouble and I love that for them

- The girl with a grudge against the Zoldycks is just. Laughable compared to what we know about them later. She’s lucky she ran into Killua out of the bunch.

Episode 12:

- Gon is straightforward and mischievous. Killua is calculating but cocky. It’s a great dynamic that evolves with the show.

- Idk if this is controversial or not but like,, Killua’s assassin mode is cool. Despite the history that comes with it. I like slightly unhinged!Killua a bit more even if soft!Killua is most people’s favorite.

- I love Gon’s hair physics in 1999. IMO It’s too tall in 2011 (most of the time) but 1999 has a nice balance of springyness and length.

- Killua’s character art is so good. I’m in love with the soft spikiness

- Ah yes, the Hunter exam. The time where Gon’s tendency to push himself to the absolute limit in order to demonstrate his worth as a person was just rearing its head and not as utterly self-destructive as it would later become.

- Not Kurapika throwing Leorio under the bus (Menchi) 💀✋

Episode 13:

- Trick Tower my beloathed. On one hand, character interactions and cute dynamics (Kurapika pushing Leorio). On the other, Tonpa and Leorio’s challenge with the prisoners.

- The expressions when Tonpa surrenders 😭

- “Gon is a sociopath” “Hisoka is a psychopath” incorrect and tired. TONPA is fucking crazy like Jesus Christ have you heard this guy monologue?

- Everytime I watch the manacles drop from the prisoner’s hands I always wonder how they avoid their toes being smushed

Which is really sad, because if his voice sounded anything remotely similar to how it did in both 1999 and 2011 subbed (and maybe 2011 dubbed, though that’s a stretch) I would definitely watch 1999 dubbed all the way through.

- Illumi’s outfit and color scheme is kinda fire though.

Episode 23:

- Kurapika and Leorio fucking around on the forest floor

- Hisoka’s bloodlust run SENDS me

- Gon jumps into Leorio’s arms when Kurapika wins like holy shit that’s adorable (and then Leorio puts him on his shoulders like what a dad moment)

- Ok so interestingly, after Kurapika wins, he admits to Leorio that he should have surrendered. When Gon prepared to face Hanzo, he says, “I have to follow Kurapika’s lead and become the second to pass.” This can mean two things: one, he simply wants to pass, similarly to Kurapika. And/or it could also mean he’ll follow Kurapika’s lead by refusing to give up despite the danger, focusing on the goal of passing the exam. There are so many parallels between them GOD. At this point I just want them to call each other in the manga and just Talk (I know it won’t happen but still 😭)

Episode 28:

- At the beginning of the match, the proctors (namely Menchi) make it a point to talk about how outmatched Gon is, yet within a minute they’re all cheering for him and yelling at Hanzo for taking things too far.

- The sheer brutality of this version tops 2011 100%. I don’t think it’s controversial to say that 2011 sped through the Hunter Exam, which is unfortunate since a lot of impact was lost. This fight was hit particularly hard by that.

- The lighting, the choreography, the direction. All of it was phenomenal here.

- “If he keeps going, he’ll destroy himself,” said Cuararpickt, king of the hypocrites

- Kurapika and Leorio worrying about Gon 😭 Not to mention Killua going feral next to them

- Zevil Island really was a serious blow to his pride. Gon lets himself get beat to shit so his opponent will acknowledge him as worthy. He’s desperate to be ‘seen’. I love him sm but he’s genuinely unhinged (and it only gets worse). Fuck Ging, man.

- Kurapika says as much a second later oops

- HANZO IS ONLY 18???

- Gon is so fucking funny I love him. “Um no thank you I don’t want my legs chopped off. Can we keep brainstorming?”

- So when Hanzo asks, “Why won’t you give up?” Gon says, “I’m looking for my dad. And I feel like if I give up now, I’ll never see him again.” This isn’t ‘Ging will get so far ahead I’ll never catch up.’ This is ‘If I give up now, I’ll never be able to face myself or Ging.’ He reminds me of me when I was 12 :/

Episode 29:

- Killua’s face at Leorio and Kurapika 💀

- It’s an interesting decision for Togashi to do the rest of the battles in recap. I suppose it speeds things up.

- Gon sensed what had happened Killua right before Satotz said it, similarly to how Killua sensed Gon during the Treasure/Battleship phase. 1999 really like that kind of stuff haha

- The lighting, again, is fantastic. This time for Killua v Gittarackur (Illumi).

- The organ music is certainly… something

- Illumi’s color scheme here is better than the greens imo

- I forgot how hard Illumi projects onto/abuses Killua. Its difficult to watch.

- The animation on Killua’s face is incredible. You can see every micro expression as he tries to stand his ground :(

- Very nice visual effect here. Killua’s eyes are somewhat teal and rather dark in this version, as opposed to the bright blue of 2011. When Illumi defeats him, black bleeds onto the screen and Killua’s eyes are so dark they match Illumi.

- Hikari Ga Mienai plays when Killua kills Bodero :(

- Gon confronting Illumi is just short of cathartic.

Episode 31:

- THE LEGENDARY FALL OF 99

- The Hunter Exam after party looks kind of fun tbh

- Illumi when Hisoka catches him trying to kill Gon: ⚫️ 👄 ⚫️

- When they search the internet Togashi seems to imply that ‘cyberspace’ is coming from a human brain directly? Or is at least powered by one?

Hey MJ! I have a question that’s been on my mind for months. In “With So Much of My Heart…” is there a reason that Henry is so insistent on Alex including the Mountchristen part of his name? I would think that he’d be happy to shed the part of himself that’s associated with his grandmother and he’d like that people more readily see him as his father’s son, but he corrects Alex every time he just calls him Fox. So is it just a point of banter between them or is there a deeper meaning in regards to Henry’s identity there?

Hey anon! This is such an interesting, thoughtful question, so thank you for asking it 💙

Honestly, it was mostly because people not bothering with both halves of a double-barrelled name is a massive bugbear for me and I project that onto all of my characters who have double-barrelled names lmao. If you've read a bunch of my stuff, you might also pick up that I never, ever have Ellen and Oscar doing the whole "calling Alex by only the other person's surname when he's pissing them off" thing from the book unless I'm directly calling out how fucked up that actually is—and it really is. Getting someone's name right is really the absolute bare minimum of respect: whether it's correctly pronouncing (or at least sincerely attempting) names from a culture you're unfamiliar with, or using trans people's correct names, or that thing that often happens to women who don't change their surname on marriage where people keep passive-aggressively sending mail to "Mr and Mrs X" even though they know full well "Mrs X" doesn't actually exist.

But the other part of it is that while, yes, Mountchristen is the part of his name that's associated with his grandmother, it's also associated with his mother. Not to get too 'projecting onto fictional characters on main' about it, but I changed my surname away from my abusive father's the moment I turned 18 because I didn't want the association—I don't regret that choice, but other members of that side of my family were hurt by it, including and especially my (much) younger brother on my dad's side who very much felt it as a rejection. Because he's so much younger than me, we weren't able to talk about that frankly for a long time, and it left its mark. Names are complicated, legacy is complicated, feelings on abusive and/or toxic family members and the impact they have on us are incredibly complicated.

But also, it's another thing Henry can give Alex shit about and that's important too—troll Henry is my favourite Henry. (And not for nothing, but Henry absolutely could have chosen to go by 'Henry Fox' professionally even if he was Henry Fox-Mountchristen legally, and I suspect his decision to leave the Mountchristen in his name for his "gauche" acting career pissed Mary off immensely lol.)

The fateful moment: To join or not to join?

I mean. Obviously I joined the Resistance immediately. Was there ever any doubt?

Is it that simple? The moment a detective retires from mystery-solving, Shinigami gets bored and the contract ends? What would that even entail?

Shinigami clearly has pre-existing relationships with Number One and possibly Makoto that she doesn't want to talk about. But that doesn't mean she bonded with them in the past; She may have bonded with someone else, and know them through her experiences with that other person.

In Death Note, the most well-known piece of media to feature shinigami, a shinigami may end their arrangement with a mortal at any time by. Uh. Killing the mortal. Those were the terms: "I'm with you until I get bored and then you fucking die."

If those same rules apply, then it's unlikely that anyone presently alive is an ex-partner for Shinigami.

But Shinigami seems to be going the noncommittal passive-aggression route, which answers nothing. There may or may not be a way to break contract.

It also remains unclear what happens if someone tries to form a contract with Shinigami while she's bound to another person. Do they get their own Shinigami? Do they get snubbed because she's with us? Or do they get ours and we get screwed?

So many question marks still to answer about the nature of this contract.

"I would love to join the Resistance but unfortunately my imaginary friend won't let me."

...is simultaneously a ridiculous and entirely effective line of reasoning. Because anyone who would present that as an argument is probably not old enough to participate in an armed revolt.

I don't understand how that's substantively any different. Presumably, as a member of the Resistance, my detective skills would have been what I brought to the organization.

I see little distinction between "Resistance Detective" and "Detective Working For Resistance".

(Also, it's weird to give you a choice to stop being a Detective and then immediately railroad you away from the "Stop being a Detective" option in a chapter titled "No Longer a Detective".)

Not unexpected. Yuma is, as we say in the business, "in too deep" at this point.

Icardi raises a valid concern. Yuma has extremely loose lips. "Too much honesty" is his main character flaw. There's a non-zero chance that he will extensively reveal every aspect about this place to the next Peacekeeper he sees because he inexplicably thinks they'll be chill about it.

Is it bad if I want her to? Halara was saying that Yuma's Forte might have something to do with immortality. I want to see if his face grows back after Iruka puts a bullet through it.

But I also don't, because of... obvious reasons....

But Shachi's being the voice of reason so okay, Yuma. I guess you can go unperforated. This time.

Replaying Nancy Drew without Cheating - Part 7: The Haunted Carousel

Ah, yes, a game that I rarely even think about when considering the Nancy Drew universe as a whole. I didn’t even know Ingrid Corey’s name was Ingrid Corey when I first sat down to play this game. I didn’t remember Miles the Magnificent Memory Machine. In fact, this is having me question if I have ever actually finished the game in the first place, because aside from who the culprit was, I didn’t remember a thing about that ending. The last scene was just a lot of clicking around in blind hope, trying not to die. Unfortunately, this meant that I got to see a whole lot of this face.

Honestly, thank god I didn’t ever finish this one as a kid, because that face would have given me more nightmares than Joseph’s in FIN (and that already scared me shitless enough).

But anyway. CAR. And not cheating when playing it. I was able to move through the story pretty quickly, without getting stuck, until I had to play the harmonica for MtMM. I played those 6 notes over and over again, and he kept telling me to try again. I was getting ready to throw my laptop in a rage. Eventually when I went away, talked to some other people, and returned, I was able to replay the 6 notes and he finally accepted the answer. This had to have either been a bug, or it was set up in such a way that I couldn’t move on to solving the riddle unless I had had another conversation first? I don’t know. Either way, that was maybe the most frustrating moment in my entire journey so far, and the one I was most willing to risk my no-cheating streak for. BUT ALAS, I prevailed!

Some thoughts about this game:

1. Why does the location suck so bad? This game is about a theme park, but you can only go to a few attractions inside the park, a couple stuffy offices, and the butt-ugly hotel room across the street. Herein starts the trend of games where very little wandering takes place. Obviously other games have maps with marked locations on them, but they also have an entire museum, an entire soap opera set, or a huge forest and underground tunnels to explore. Idk, this game felt slightly claustrophobic to me for some reason. And I would have loved to be able to wander through the park itself to feel a little bit more immersed. Missed opportunity.

I will say that this hotel room captures the feel of New Jersey perfectly, though.

2. For a game whose namesake is a “haunted carousel,” we see very little haunting and honestly very little carousel. Half the game is running around solving convoluted riddles for a helpless Joy, and the other is doing Ingrid’s job for her, leaving very little time for much else.

3. Speaking of Ingrid, why on earth is an engineer asking me, an 18-year-old stranger, to fix circuitry and program software updates? And some of her passive aggressive comments (”It isn’t exactly rocket science,” “He’s not exactly a mechanical genius,” and “You can check in the binder if it’s too cryptic for you”) made her a VERY unpleasant suspect. Being a park engineer is YOUR job, girl, not mine. However, she IS the most beautiful suspect in the games so far. LOOK at her bone structure.

4. For some reason, I remember the burning-down-the-hotel thing as an explosion, where you get to see the entire hotel get engulfed in violent flames as you stand outside in horror. I mean, getting the call from Paula Santos is good and all, but it was disappointing when I was gearing up to see some serious destruction (I even left the iron on, on purpose, just to see it).

5. I felt like Nancy was particularly annoying in this game. She hears Harlan is an ex-con, and immediately tries to get him fired over it (extremely anti-woke of her...why have I never realized how terrible she really is?). Instead of ordering a soft drink with her burger, she ordered a tall glass of milk (barf). Half the time she pronounces carousel “carouSEL,” which irked me for no reason at all. Obviously Joy and Ingrid were battling for the Most Annoying Character award this game, but seems like Nancy decided to throw her hat in the ring, too.

6. I was about to shit all over Nancy for being a hude nerd and thinking finding a book on carousels was “cool,” but then I read it and was actually enthralled. I even read some tidbits of information to my fiance, and he was also fascinated, and even asked some follow-up questions (very detective of him!). So I will apologize to Nancy for that, but only that!

7. The first game where Nancy has a cell phone! Hilarious that she has to pull out her blank notepad and a pencil for every single impromptu call, but at least we are spared running back to a specific room just to make a phone call. AND, we get to answer phone calls in this game, too, not just make them! So futuristic.

8. This is also the first game where you have to actually get information from one of your regular phone contacts (Bess, George, Ned) in order to move forward in the game. I have been generally avoiding calling any of those contacts throughout these play-throughs, since it is mostly just recapping stuff I’ve already done. This left me racking my brain trying to remember where we are supposed to learn about shorthand to translate the Glory note, thinking it was in a book somewhere, when really it really required a phone call to Bess all along.

9. This is also the first playthrough of this game where I actually got to mention the Poppy Dada piece to Elliott, and hear him say that she thinks he is hot (she ain’t wrong). I love discovering new experiences in older games, and love when games make references to games that preceded them.

10. This picture of Mike DeSalle and K.J. Perris is the best part of the game, hands down. The hair! The mustache! The crossed eyes! The awkward holding of the jewelry!

11. Not to brag or anything, but I managed to beat Barnacle Blast the first time through. Not sure how this is even possible, since I have been dreading that very game since I started STFD. I must be getting more dexterous in my old age.

I know I just bitched about CAR for several paragraphs there, but I did enjoy playing it. The ending was actually really great, and it made sense when you think about other clues that were pointing to it the entire game (the fact that Elliott kept calling me “Nance” was suspicious on its own - you can never trust anyone who gets too friendly. See: Lisa, Joe). This is Nancy Drew, so any and every game is a treat for me. Even if I have complaints.

Never been so excited to get out of New Jersey. Onward and upwards to the PNW, and one of my favorite games of all time!

what was your inspiration behind monotora?

Since Rexx was the one to create Monotora, I've asked him to answer this question (everything below is what she's written):

When it came to replacing Monokuma for DR96 it took a lot of thought and planning on how we could have a character that can stand out to be a threat rather than something that's passive aggressive like Monokuma himself. Throughout the months of production they went through so many design ideas it was tough to find one where it wasn't too complex or it didn't fit in with the setting DR96 was taking place.

First one was done in around the end of September 2021, and originally they were going to be blue/dark grey - but I did not want to get any comparisons to Sans so I immediately changed them to a very desaturated orange/dark grey with blue eyes. It didn't really last long though since their colours felt like they weren't really popping out enough and were bland. I also went overboard with their markings so they needed to be simplified. (I would've shown what they'd be if they were blue but unfortunately it's been lost </3)

Second concept was a little after in around early October 2021 for a reference sheet, they were still going to be bipedal and had a lot more scars on their body (except those were done as a deliberate design choice rather than something you'll receive in a fight.) They were more scruffy with an ear notch included and had an overbite, but this didn't really last long until I did another concept design for them. Around this period I struggled a lot when it came to designing them without stepping into the complex design boundaries.

Third concept was originally going to be used for their splash art but I wasn't really fond of that pose and the yellow scars were so icky to me so then they were edited to be more fleshy coloured (as in a shade of red you'd get from freshly opened wounds) which leads to their splash art we used to reveal Monotora to the discord server during the announcement (which was drawn in November 2021 time) I was going through the period of learning to draw a lot of sharp teeth so the anatomy looked really rough.

A lot of these are really old and outdated but the most up to date version is what they currently look up to chapter 3, they have a more animalistic look and they're no longer bipedal. Generally they're really fun to draw and goof around with and it's been fun using them for DR96 :)

I do have a list of characters/creatures that are main inspirations to fleshing out Monotora's personality and traits here:

Monokuma + Monokid; these two were mainly a guideline to starting off with designing a mascot for the killing game.

Doraemon; at the very beginning his design was Monotora's main inspiration but overtime things would've been changed or scrapped, however a few traits are still there such as Monotora being able to hid things in their stomach like how Doraemon can hide things in his little pocket on his stomach.

Nightmare Fredbear + Montgomery (FNAF); these two characters helped flesh out that 'threatening robot' kind of thing (Fredbears off-putting dialogue in UCN and Montgomery's temperament and determination to hunt you down in SB). A fun fact is that Monty's voice is my personal HC voice for Monotora lol

The indoraptor (Jurassic World); a pretty obvious thing from the indoraptor is it being built to be used as a weapon, Monotora has the capability of killing just like the indoraptor (only differences is that Monotora doesn't have the laser targeting system and they're smaller than the indoraptor). But generally Monotora gets their animalistic behaviour from this dinosaur. I've also seen a few people mention how Monotora looks similar to Mapleshade from Warrior Cats but she was never ever used for inspiration (which is surprising considering I have the books) LMAOOOO

Reiji is my Number One! God, he owns my whole being uwu. I adore Laito, though, and is certainly a close second! But who can forget Richter? He's a guilty pleasure of mine, but not necessarily one I'd consider a boyfriend/husband (the thought is nice though~)

Well, I think I've told this story before but he was originally my least favourite when I only had consumed the anime.

The friend group I was apart of, though, wanted to divvy the boys up between the three of us, so we wouldn't "take" each other's favourites. I selected, of the Sakamaki's: Laito and Ayato, and then "got lumped with" Reiji, as no one else wanted him ><. Of course my thoughts since then have DRASTICALLY changed!

Reiji: I have no clue how to describe my reasoning in coherent words, though. Reiji is gentlemanly - even if harshly so - and a devoted and dedicated lover, sadistic yet compassionate and the perfect balance between them, one HELL of a tease (seriously, saying something terrifying or suggestive and then teasing the MC about "misinterpreting" his words only to prove her somewhat right, aaaa, makes me weak). Not to mention... he is handsome. So so handsome. He really defined my "type", which is typically men with dark hair and glasses, and the whole "suit and tie/on par with victorian" aesthetic uwu.

Laito: He was always one of my favourites, and hasn't EVER since dipped below second favourite. He's arguably the most in-depth character rejet has in DiaLovers in terms of his layers as a character, and his whole facade that's just so interesting to tear apart little by little to understand why he is who he is. He's charming too! So so charming, despite his cruel and perverted ways, which makes him all the more terrifying (and i love that hehe ><). Again, he's also gorgeous. Aaa just look at those auburn waves and his lil mole~

Richter: I'm guilty of hatin' on him long before liking him, too. He's SO INTERESTING THO. I only really started to like him come making Ryuuto, but even before then I would occasionally think "mm i wanna pick apart that handsome devils brain". His whole dynamic with Cordelia is *beyond* intriguing and i just- aaaa- i want him to have a happy ending and to be free from her clutches, and free from living in shadow of his brother too :(

In the English-speaking fandom (or off-shoots of that), or otherwise? My opinions greatly differ depending, to be quite honest with you.

In the English-speaking fandom, and their off-shoots like the Spanish-speaking fandom, I have noticed how toxic it can be to be a "stan", or how damaging it can be to be labelled as such. It implies hostile possessiveness and comes with the reputation of being a gatekeeper, which is true in most cases ><

Otherwise? In the Japanese fandom, and such, it's usually a given that most fans you meet are probably a stan. It's more so in the sense that they have HEAPS of merchandise, visit all the cafes, or celebrate their birthday each year, or dedicate their social media to them. It's less so the whole "gatekeeping" thing, but that can become apart of it too. This is all what I observed, anyhow!

Therefore, I'd label myself a stan by the Japanese fandom standard to some extent. But I wouldn't by the English fandom standard.

what is the Krikani language like? i like the description of Cheloan glyphs as analogous to Hanzi or Kanji (being able to identify the ``spicy'' character) but id love to know about the Krikani writing system

(im not expecting you to write a whole conlang of course but was curious if you had a general shape or feeling to it in mind) ^^;

SableGear0: You know, I haven't actually given it much thought yet. I probably should, though. My first impulse was to say "they don't have a written language" (for reasons I will discuss in a moment) but that seems impossible; they're a sapient species capable of space-travel and manage huge military systems, they probably have writing since not all communication can be person-to-person. So, organic rambling solution-finding and some links and images under the cut.

Generally I conceptualize Kriken as a (semi-)eusocial hive organism that are passively psionic, to keep in touch with the greater hive. How much direct communication happens psionically I'm still not sure; whether it can be used "conversationally," or if it's merely a "vibe" they share with local Kriken that's strong enough to pick up on the "vibe" from the core colony sometimes. The fact that they have a spoken language probably means its closer to the latter.

If the psionic communication is powerful enough, then maybe they wouldn't need to write? But then how would you do something like label the controls on a starship or make maps? You might have to devote someone to memorizing what all the labels would be and then telepathically ask them what you're looking at. Which isn't totally unreasonable, if we consider them highly specialized hive organisms. Maybe they do have "librarians" that keep this stuff in their minds and can be asked/accessed on a whim. This would be an extremely alien way of keeping track of information. While I kind of like it, it seems maybe a bit too weird for the Metroid series as we know it. Arguably, Metroid has kept its aliens fairly (socially) tame, giving us a lot of written logs throughout the Prime series. Though the ones we've gotten the most lore on are Pirates and Chozo, which aren't great benchmarks since they were respectively "the bad guys" and "the good guys (mostly)."

Being insectoid, Kriken might also communicate via pheromones? But pheromones and what/how Kriken eat have been stumping me because... well, their heads aren't really attached.

Trace has no neck. And while in some renders it looks like that tiny teardrop of a head is resting on the body, the in-game model and wireframe show pretty clearly they do not touch. Hence why I go with psionic; their heads float for spooky psionic reasons. This also means that while their heads may be a sensory center (headshots still work in Hunters), I doubt it's where they stick food when (if?) they eat, so it being a chemosensor feels a little unlikely, but I digress.

Anyway back to written language. I suppose I have to ask myself, what would a written language look like if it was invented by ants? Or bees? Ants is a tough one mainly because I don't actually know much about ant organization. My impression is that they build and tunnel fairly organically, just wherever is easiest to go and/or smells like it has the most food. When I think about bees, though, I think about bee dances, and how that might be adapted into a written language; a system abstracting the orientation and movement of the body into markings that can be re-read at any time so that worker doesn't have to bust down and dance it out every time she wants to relay some information to someone new.

And thinking about that, I think about Phyrexian. This conlang shows up in the Magic the Gathering universe, and knowing what I know about Phyrexians (an all-consuming hivemind-like culture that take creatures and turn them into half-mechanical abominations to serve their own purposes), it seems like a decent fit.

The shape of these is really what I was going for but the cultural implications match up too. I was thinking of the cross-strokes being similar to the directional facing if you were to write down a bee dance, the extra marks indicating other movements like stops or the frequency of a waggle.

It also looks like something a bug might make if you dipped it in ink and let it walk around on a paper, so that's neat. Scratching marks like these out would be fairly quick and easy for a Kriken, since they only appear to have a crab-like manipulator and a single combat claw, and I've stuck with that design choice in describing them because it's more interesting than "oh and they have normal hands too".

So there's your answer, I guess. Written Krikani probably looks kind of like Phyrexian; branching strokes off a central line that stem from an ancestral system of gestural communication (and I like the verticality so I'll probably keep that too). Simple, efficient, and easy to replicate.

Son of Neptune. First reading thoughts:

— Ok, I actually read this two months ago, but forgot to post it, so this is a short review, beacuse my thoughts are a little scrambled now.

—Let me tell you, when I got on the "Heroes Of Olympus" ride, I thought it would be a diferent story, with totally diferent characters and I was on board with it.

I went expecting AT MAX a cameo from Percy. Imagine my excitement when I saw "Percy" written in the firts chapter.

—I really missed Percy guys.

—And I really hate Juno

—“But be warned, you will sacrifice much! You’ll lose the mark of Achilles. You’ll feel pain, misery, and loss beyond anything you’ve ever known. But you might have a chance to save your old friends and family, to reclaim your old life.” BITCH EXCUSE ME?? JUST LET HIM BE HAPPY.

—Ok but, Camp Jupiter sounds so cool???!! I adore roman architecture, it was a delight to read about the temples, the baths, everything, ughhh. I kind of liked it more than Half-Blood Camp

—Ok, more new characters!

— I adored Hazel and Frank, I'm loving how unique and intereresting all the new characters are.

—My poor Hazel, like are we gonna talk about how she DIED?? In a horrible way??. She was dead for YEARS. And the whole thing with her mother losing her mind and the cursed stones, and all that wtf.

And she is super little too, she is like what, thirteen?? She is still a kid, most of the others are borderline teenagers by now (wicj is still horrible, but like??). She even has like, trauma black outs. Poor girl, I dont think we focused enought on how messed up everything she went through was.

— Also her powers are really cool. Like her power controling gems?? Earthbenders who???

—Frank was amazing too, I kind of guessed his father was Mars, and I love the contrast beacause Frank is adorable.

—All the buildup to his special power being turning into animals was AMAZING. That power is so incredible, I was so excited when the reveal happened.

—I love Percy so much. He takes ONE look at the god of war and is like "I may not remember anything, but I remember you're a bitch."

—Reading Mars claime Frank felt like watching that one kid's dad who was way too intense with anything regarding his child, and would passive-agressively fight with the teachers during school making it akward to anyone because nobody could tell if he did all that for his kid or for himself.

—The only thing Percy remembers is Annabeth HOW ADORABLE IS THAT

—Reyna was cool too, I thought she was a very fun and cool character, I hope we see more of her.

—Octavious was annoying af. He tried to be creepy but I know who you are sir, and what you are is cringe.

— You are telling that, while Groover was traumatized in The Lighting Thief because he had seen so many demigod kids at Camp Half-Blood die before they turned into teenagers, the vast majority of the demigods in Camp Jupiter were just... fine? Thriving? Living their lives?

—Not Nico pleading insanity the second he sees Percy and lying to his face. MY BOY WHAT ARE YOU DOING.

—The whole book it was hurting me that Percy didn't remember anyone or any past adventures.

—Loved Ella, such a fun character.

—AMAZON, is from the AMAZONS?? I... sure why not

—I was not expecting the circe island adventure to come back in any way, ever. It was pretty interesting to see that conflict with Percy, Reyna and her sister.

—Mars gave Frank... a zombie. Yeah, alright.

—It was so cool to see Thatanos, I was excited the whole book and it did not disapoint. I loved how he is potrayed, that aura, his beauty .

—AHA! THEY MENTIONED EROS (or cupid, whatever). SO YOU DO KNOW HE EXISTS, RIORDAN.

—"Death has more in common with love that you might imagine" Oh yes, give that methaphoric stoytelling to me.

—It actually caught me by surprise that death was a recurring theme on this book. Hazel and Frank coming to therms with their experience with mortality, the exploration of grieve, the almost philosophical discussions abut it (some even coming from Mars, wich has even more meaning) On top of the whole mission being to free the literal Death.

It was fascinating to explore characters with these themes, and it made a lot of the scenes between Percy, Frank and Hazel very touching.

—All the final battles were amazing, I enjoyed them a lot.

—Oh right, and Tyson was here! I loved to see him again.

—Okay the thing about Leo looking like Sammy is making my head hurt. Is it goint to turn out he is like his grandson or something?

—The way I screamed when the book ended. JUST WHEN THEY ARE ABOUT TO REUNITE.

—Ok, I've restrained myself from reading the next book for long enough, I'll go read it now.

After reading some random tweets regarding the series, now I want to see the 4 of them fight!

Let me explain:

First of all I want to see Alan and Jim trow hands at each other! Neither of them strike me as a violent person especially Jim he seems like one of those disillusioned by life 40yo that see way to much crap and are now just living life passively, about Alan we don't know much but he doesn't strike me as violent, and That is the main reason I want them to fight! it would be such a contrast, also I want Alan to start it, he is so frustrated by the situation after discovering he was cheated on, thinking at the beginning that it's just a fling a temporary story but then he see Wen loosing interest in him getting colder and distant and at some point he snaps, goes to Jim(cuz of course he would go to the other man instead of his bf, after all it is typical for men to do so) and start insulting him and yelling, but at the start Jim doesn't react much cuz he doesn't care a lot about himself, but when Alan start sayng shit about Wen cuz he is angry at his bf Jim loose it and start defendinh Wen with his whole chest and then Alan snaps and he punch Jim, and they start fighting, the fight is then broken by Wen wich was going to the chicken shop to see Jim and he side with him against Alan that feels defeted and just leave with tears in his eyes, moving his gaze from Wen to Jim, so defeted he leaves, mind you at this point Alan and Wen have not broke up they are still together... I don't really know how it would proced from here but I kinda want to see them trow hands

Ok for Wen and Kaipa it is a bit more silly! like I don't want their fight to be too serious, cuz after all Wen is an adult and Kaipa is a teenager so if it was a serious fight it would weight more on Wen cuz he is the adult here, I just want Kaipa to be a little shit to Wen, but not show it when Jim is there, keep making snide remarks and being petty to the point of exasperation for Wen, cuz I feel like he would usually not engage too much on this behavior and just ignoring the kid, but Kaipa once went too far and Wen scolds him so Kaipa trows some food at him as a retailation, and Wen being a bit childish himself responds by trowing rice at Kaipa and they keep making a mess in the kitchen, and at some point start smaking each other on the arms and hands, the fight would be broken by Jim, Li Ming and Mark's character entering the kitchen only to be face to face with a total mess of food everywhere and the 2 of them mid fight, in the most embarassing moment of both their life, Jim doesn't even question it and orders them to clean, ge then would be giving them the scolding of the century

This is just a silly idea that came to me cuz I spend way to much time on Twitter😅 and also cuz I want Earth and First, and Mix and Khao ingeract, cuz I never really saw E and F act in a series together, but only in real life, and for M and K I just miss seing them act together in a show(I miss my Tian and Longtae🥺) also after Not Me I just like to see people fight and punch eachother lol

02. It should go without saying but at the same time cannot be stressed enough: mun ≠ muse. If, for any reason, you feel discomfort when interacting with my muse please communicate it. I'm always willing to take a step back and sort things out.

03. I mostly rp privately in DM's or on sideblogs but I'm very open and curious to try threads, I'd love to have some writing on my blog whether it be novels, oldschool style shorter postings or some in-character chatting. This would come closest to the 'Pinnwand' we had on our old platform and I still miss it a lot. I'm using the beta editor, which should be standard at this point anyways, and I am able to trim posts. Feel free to hit me up if you're interested and are comfortable with doing any sorts of public threads. You can also just tag me in a starter or send me an ask (off anon to start a continuous interaction). Speaking of asks: I will generally react in-character whenever possible. If you want to talk to me, the person behind, please put your text in brackets or mark as "for the mun" so I know for sure you're addressing me and not my muse.

04. When it comes to writing, I ask for a few things: no godmodding, power play or meta gaming. I also don't like forcing or rushing certain interactions that don't feel like natural character progression. Plotting beforehand is welcome but not mandatory. If it ever feels like being stuck we can pause the writing and have a small plotting session between scenes or even for the same scene. I am a big fan of the "yes, and" approach. Give me something to work with, don't let your replies be "dead" and passive. I get discouraged very quickly when I get little to no input and have to come up with moving the plot or interactions myself all the time. I don't have an estimated length for texts, it always depends and I usually don't match length just for the sake of having written a lot. I am not too fond of texts that are artificially bloated and there's essentially nothing happening.

05. I'm multiship and multiverse, meaning every ship takes place in its own verse if not communicated otherwise. Make sure you're entirely okay with that if you happen to be interested at any point. I personally enjoy shipping a lot but of course there's gotta be some good chemistry.

06. My approach to curating my dashboard is quite different, I would say, compared to what's considered standard (clean dash, small circle of mutuals). I follow a lot, and I mean a shitton, of people. I follow every blog out of interest and curiousity but please understand that it's impossible for me to interact with everyone. My dashboard is fast and busy and I like it that way, I've made a conscious choice about this. It has become a wind down ritual for me, just silently scrolling, catching up and finding lots of stuff I enjoy without feeling obligated to contact people or getting replies done. Yes, I am here for rp, but I like to do lots of other things on Tumblr, too. There's periods of time where I don't have the energy to work on drafts or talk to anyone, not even folks who I have grown to genuinely like. Rest assured that you never did anything wrong when I disappear for a while. If I have any sort of issue or problem I will communicate it. What I'm not willing to do is constantly giving activity updates on a schedule. If I go on hiatus for longer I will most likely make a post about it. It's my personal opinion that no one should ever feel pressured into explaining why and for how long they are away.

07. I have zero tolerance for homophobia, transphobia, racism, ableism, sexism, hateful comments in general, out of character drama, gossiping, constant negativity, passive aggressiveness, vague posting, guilt tripping, gaslighting and other similar behaviour. Just be a decent person and we're fine.
