I personally don't think they should give the Butterfly Miraculous to a new Hawk Moth yet. If they beat No. 1 after five seasons, then having a new Big Bad with the exact same deal would just be more of the same with the only difference being their personality. (And I remember fans getting tired of something similar with three different villains all with the same power on The Flash.) They could bring in a whole world of threats. Maybe show us some of what the Miraculous Holders fought in the past (we saw one of those in the first season albeit manifested as an Akuma). Or a look into the future threats that Bunnyx mentioned. (Granted, it's implied that one of those was a re-Akumatized Mr. Ramier, and the original French version said Ignoblia was an Akumatized Majestia, but I prefer the idea of her being Majestia's evil sister instead.) They can have the Butterfly stolen and used for evil again in a later arc (maybe the last season or two), but they should give Nooroo a break and enter a new era of superhero conflicts. It's the end of the Gabriel Agreste Saga. Shake things up going forward!

YEAH NO I'VE RANTED ABOUT THIS BEFORE WHEN WE FIRST GOT THE HINTS OF A 'NEW HAWKMOTH IN TIMETAGGER.

I absolutely /hated/ the future described in Timetagger where Ladybug and Chat Noir were still fighting a Butterfly-wielding villain and their Akumas at least a decade into the future.

Like. That info? That killed my hope for the show more than the shaky writing, more than the slow plot progression, hell, it killed it more than Miracle Queen did.

Because the implication??? That even if they defeated Gabriel as Hawkmoth, they're still fighting some other Butterfly Villain for years and have made no progress whatsoever?

That shit HURT

And like. I've kinda talked about this in the Discord. How I might.... I might try to end HC and LL at Season 5.

Because even with the other plans I have for how Season 5 will go in those AUs, I don't think that I really can carry on /past/ that. I don't want a 'new Hawkmoth'. I want them to deal with Gabriel's nonsense, and then move on to new things.

Would the new villain be the Order going rogue? Would it be Techno-pirate back with a vengance? Would it be a whole entire Rogues Gallery of legitimate villains for the gang to face both together and even individually as they are both a Team but Heroes in their own right?

Yes. But as much as I love writing HC and LL, if I'm going that far off the rails to make this shit, I might as well just make my own series.

Who will be the next Hawk Moth?

Alright, well there’s a lot of different theories on who will be “the next Hawk Moth”. So I wanted to do a break down on some possibilities (warning: this analysis is REALLY long lol)

Lila

I feel like Lila is very likely to be the next one. She already has a leg up in working with Gabriel (despite not knowing he’s Hawk Moth).

Even though Hawk Moth hasn’t reached his goal of getting Ladybug and Cat Noir’s miraculouses, he’s made good progress. With Lila’s help, he’s gotten PRETTY damn close to getting them since she has that deep hatred of Ladybug. Without her, he wouldn’t have had his invasion of scarlet moths possessing Paris.

Additionally, Lila is pretty full of herself and does just about everything for her own benefit. She could easily grow a bigger hatred towards Ladybug and find out about the benefits of their miraculouses to have her own wish granted.

It’s really difficult to see her as a redeemable character since she has yet to show any redeemable qualities. But, hey, maybe there will be a plot twist where she’ll change her ways.

Chloe

As much as I’d LOVE to see Chloe develop into a better person since we see she is the way she is, I don’t have too much faith in Thomas Astruc’s writing.

Thomas initially started Chloe off as the annoying and conceited bully, then she started seeing the error of her ways, and finally...she was pulled back to square one.

It’s obvious that Chloe is pretty strong. She knows Hawk Moth is evil and has fought off an akuma even when she was super angry with Ladybug. However, Hawk Moth IS a rather powerful man and was able to akumatize Chloe on many occasions. She became his most successful akumatized victim as Miracle Queen. I feel like the fandom doesn’t talk enough about how Chloe managed to get almost ALL the miraculous holders to reveal their identities. (Don’t come for Hawk Moth in saying he hasn’t made a lot of progress - he HAS.)

The main issue with Chloe is that she can easily be manipulated into doing things for Hawk Moth because she has that disliking for Ladybug, deep down. She doesn’t want to hate Ladybug but obviously it’s been tough since she won’t let Chloe have her bee miraculous, and being Queen Bee is very important to her. Chloe wants to be powerful and heroic to feel good about herself since her mom doesn’t see her as something special (which is awful, I feel so bad for Chloe, honestly.)

Even though the likelihood is there, I really don’t want Chloe to become the next Hawk Moth. In season 4, it’d be nice to see some of her character development come back, and hopefully her and her mom build a stronger relationship now that Audrey has decided to stay in Paris with the family. Thomas Astruc needs to make Chloe better but KEEP it that way. She’s shown redeemable qualities and we know why she acts the way that she does. There’s a ridiculous amount of potential for her to be a wonderful, well-rounded character instead of just the evil bully Thomas makes her out to be.

Felix

So far, we’ve only seen Felix in one episode, but we already have a good idea of what he’s like. He’s very manipulative as a form of coping with his father’s death.

Felix already has a bit of a vendetta against Gabriel for keeping Emilie’s family heirlooms, and managed to steal them from Gabriel. He also wasn’t very nice to Adrien in pretending to be him and attempting to hurt his friendships. All of those things Felix did just prove he’d make a *good* villain.

My theory is that he’ll come back for at least one more episode, since he took the wedding rings that were very precious to Gabriel. However, it’s kind of strange to me that Felix hasn’t even been mentioned since his debut episode. So, we will see if this devilish boy makes a comeback.

Adrien

People have had this theory a while back, but it’s just incredibly unlikely at this point.

Adrien cares deeply about his mom and wants her back, of course. However, we see in Cat Blanc that he tried to cataclysm his own father for what he’s done. He was so hurt by his father’s motives, he triggered the end of the world.

There could potentially be an episode where Adrien hears his father out and tries the butterfly miraculous out for himself, but Bunnyx would come out of her burrow and shut that shit down.

OR, we know Gabriel is an awful father and he could somehow manipulate his own son to take his spot as Hawk Moth. (But again, Bunnyx could easily shut this down, too.)

Adrien loves being Cat Noir; he’s shown to be the Cat Noir in the future. He has an extremely good heart. So they’ve pretty much denied Adrien becoming the new Hawk Moth, at this point.

Luka

I think this is the most interesting idea I’ve seen on who the next Hawk Moth will be. (I recommend watching Cat Blanc x Princess Justice’s YouTube video analysis on this. It’s really good! I mention some of her points in here.)

Luka is almost too nice of a character. He cares a lot about other people and just sort of lets Marinette take advantage of his kindness, which is really sad, BUT there could easily be a motive we don’t know behind that, or he’s secretly bothered by it deep down.

There’s that theory that Luka knows Marinette is Ladybug. He could be trying to get closer to her to take the miraculous from her since he might know the power the ladybug and black cat miraculous hold.

Or, like I mentioned before, if Luka is bothered deep down by Marinette’s romantic feelings for Adrien, there could be something that happens that pushes him over the edge. We’ve even seen that Luka makes a terrifying villain as Silencer. He was super manipulative and had a lot of good tactics. Ladybug and Cat Noir DID in fact have a really hard time fighting him. Luka is also not the type of person to get angry like that, but Hawk Moth needs STRONG emotion to feed off of. So, considering how powerful of a villain Luka was, there’s clearly some anger boiling within him.

We also don’t have that much of a backstory to work off of. We’re slowly learning more, but think about it, for instance, we don’t know who his father is. Some people have theorized it’s Jagged Stone but we’re REALLY not sure. So, maybe it’s a motive of his to find his father.

Thomas Astruc made Luka a very likable character, enough so to get most of the fandom to actually like the Lukanette ship. Luka could have been made purposely likable so that the fandom won’t believe that he will be the next villain.

Another good point Cat Blanc x Princess Justice had made was that Miraculous World made a tweet that Miraculous will be introducing a new villain in season 4 - but it’s a character we already know. Lila and Felix are already known BUT they’re also already well-established villains....

Kagami

If Luka is a possibility, so is Kagami. Half the fandom thinks Kagami is great, the other half thinks she’s awful.

Kagami is shown to have a very strong personality (that sometimes comes off as a bit threatening). She’s very blunt about everything, very uptight, doesn’t beat around the bush. Those three characteristics are similar to Gabriel, HOWEVER Kagami has a caring soul and she really wants to be good to Adrien and Marinette.

So, it’s possible, but unlikely and definitely hard to pinpoint what intentions she could possibly have of becoming a villain. Maybe her mother pinches a certain nerve, or she can’t understand why Adrien doesn’t love her.

Additionally, Thomas Astruc doesn’t cut Adrien a lot of slack, let’s be real here. Adrien’s father is already Hawk Moth, he could switch it to his “girlfriend” being Hawk Moth.

Alya

So, I have a bit of an interesting theory on this since I haven’t really seen anyone else mention anything about Alya potentially becoming bad.

Despite Alya/Rena Rouge having a strong bond and trust with Ladybug, there’s that possibility she still wants to unveil who Ladybug really is - she still runs The Ladyblog, after all. And of course, unveiling Ladybug’s identity is extremely dangerous. She even posted the museum exhibit to her blog in Feast, which she didn’t realize was dangerous. It shows that she might slip and reveal something that she shouldn’t have.

Or, maybe Alya manages to lose Ladybug’s trust. Something monumental could happen. There’s already that bit of danger surrounding Ladybug and Rena Rouge since they’re such close friends in real life and know nearly everything about each other.

Hawk Moth also now knows that Alya is Rena, and could do something to push her to reveal something on The Ladyblog, therefore turning her into a villain.

Also, Alya already knows SO much of the Ladybug lore. She’s dedicated so much time to researching the lore behind the miraculouses. Also pretty dangerous and suspicious.

Nino

Like Alya, there’s a chance Nino also loses Ladybug and/or Cat Noir’s trust. When Nino first got his miraculous, he wasn’t very good at acting like a different person in his superhero persona. He could easily slip and reveal an something he isn’t supposed to.

He is the least likely possibility, but not completely impossible.

Tom or Sabine

I put these two in the same excerpt because they have about the same amount of likeliness to be the next Hawk Moth (or maybe one is Hawk Moth and the other is Mayura 👀)

Tom and Sabine are both super sweet, but also, we don’t know a whole lot about them. Since Gabriel - father of sweet cinnamon roll hero Cat Noir - is Hawk Moth, who’s to say superhero Ladybug’s own parents couldn’t become evil? It’d create a super interesting dynamic in the plot because it’s like how would Marinette react if one of her parents was Hawk Moth?

I have a stronger theory that Tom and Sabine used to be the old Ladybug and Cat Noir, but still. Don’t put it past Thomas Astruc to trick us somehow.

How would Gabriel fail (or lose his miraculous)?

One last thing I’d also like to analyze relating to this is this question.

Does Gabriel NOT end up ever getting Ladybug and Cat Noir’s miraculouses? Let’s look over some possibilities:

1) One of the villains he creates or senti-monsters Nathalie creates becomes too powerful and doesn’t give him the miraculouses once they’re captured.

2) He gives up and realizes all he needs is his dearest son Adrien.

3) He gets sickly and can’t fight anymore and passes on his miraculous for someone else to do the job.

4) Simplest answer: His miraculous is stolen.

Eobard Thawne Wells would be Gabe but the actual Wells from Earth-1 would be Fu

Kara would likely exist in the same way that she does in the actual show, on a different Earth (was it?? Earth-34?). Oliver... Again, I only ever watched the beginning of Arrow and whatever my dad had on while I was in the living room, but I feel like Oliver could be the holder of his own Miracle Box? In Starling City (Star City??). The Legends would probably be collected in the same way, but alternatively Rip Hunter could be a future Butterfly holder and there could be a Catalyst..... :eyes:

Obsessed with the idea of Barry being a teen not because he's a teen in this AU but because he somehow managed to de-agify himself when he jumped Earths. (Possibly also losing his speed? And then he gets a Miraculous?) But also I just like the idea of Barry coming in, defeating the Villain of the Week before Ladybug can call her Lucky Charm, and getting yelled at for it. (He stays behind to fix the damage with his superspeed, of course, but it still takes longer than the Lucky Charm would.)

Timetagger

This time around, in this newest episode we finally have TIMETAGGER (an episode I’ve been looking forward to for reasons)

My initial thoughts/theories for this episode was that this was an episode with future LB and CN potential. . . and well :)

LETS GET RIGHT INTO IT!

We start off with CONFIRMATION that the twins and Chris/Noel are indeed friends that hang out and play a lot. They’re The Three Musketeers you cant change my mind.

Then there’s #MarinetteforRapGod2019 . I stan.

Slim Shady better watch out

The fun gets cut short, of course, because of Mr. Pigeon, who keeps getting akumatized because he’s so attached to his pigeons. . . Pretty frequently it seems. Ladybug and Chat Noir can take out his akuma with their eyes closed. It’s nothing new. They even have an ice cream with him and have a one on one two? talk. Things were going so well and easily until. . . enter Timetagger.

This was “unforeseeable”.

Now let’s talk about this setup and why it matters (to me at least):

I know SW2 was meant to set up a halfway point to the show and demonstrate how things will change from then on. . . But I wanna talk about how this very episode executed what SW2 should have, and did a much better job in. In this episode we’re shown a villain from S1 who is now considered as “threat-less” when he once was a big threat. Even the people instead of getting to safety now stand close by as an audience. It’s far too easy now. Then suddenly enter a much more powerful villain from the future, and now they’re suddenly in for the big fight.

I just have to say that I thought that THIS was a good way to show that things will change (not a clipshow). You contrast a an old villain to a future one, which only seem to be getting more powerful overtime. Anyway that’s enough on that, moving on.

After the duo evades Timetagger and recharges, they run into Alix, and then marks the tying of some lose ends we had since Timebreaker (love the theme she has going with time btw. It’s a nice touch.) We learn:

The Rabbit Miraculous grants Time Jump powers. (I’m shook, like I really like it!)

The mysterious family heirloom wasn’t a useless high tech watch for its time, but a Miraculous in camouflage.

Alix doesn’t just get to be a holder, she’s been a holder the entire time. Right under our noses!!!

Bunnix most likely gave it to an ancestor to be passed down for generations as back up.

Seeing as the Rabbit Miraculous powers deals with time, it was a smart backup to do in the event her Miraculous was ever damaged.

Bunnix probably got herself trapped in the stone when her miraculous got damaged, Timetagger sent her back, and upon reaching the past she got frozen in time under a stone.

Alix is too awesome and “Minibug” hasn’t noticed yet. FACTS.

CONFIRMED ML LORE: The Miraculous can be placed in a camouflage mode.

Future Alix couldn’t give Chat Noir an answer on if they ever get together because to her they’re all over the place at all times. What I do gather from her answer, is that they’re so focused on hero work as heroes in the future that they most likely mastered keeping their civilian lives a separate secret.

On to facing Timetagger outside, Bunnix goes at it while using her powers for a lengthy time. Chat makes note of it only to be answered with “No, because she’s an adult.”

CONFIRMED ML LORE: Adult Holders don’t seem to require to recharge so soon after using their powers. Or maybe even don’t need to recharge?!?

(In other words it explains Hawkmoth being able to stay transformed.)

The fight continues but “Kitten Noir” gets impatient. He uses Cataclysm and almost destroys her miraculous a second time. Immature move, Kitty.

Lucky for us, Bunnix already saw it coming, and now we know how she got herself in the stone in the first place. Take this as a lesson, Kitty.

She managed to warp Timetagger back and things looked promising. . . Until her memory reminded her of a key point in time right before she “failed”. So Timetagger comes back and now our heroes are in an actual twist. . . Except Ladybug had an idea she knew would work in “the future”.

The Future:

Ladybug makes a false story that she’s sending an apology message to the future for failing and sends Bunnix back with a message. . . To an older Ladybug and Chat Noir who were already expecting it.

A plan from the past.

Side commentary: Adult Chat Noir? Nah. That’s BEEFCAKE NOIR for sure. Our boy probably picked up some workouts for photo shoots given that he’s still probably a model (or at least a celebrity of some kind.) Either way, he looks well. Ladybug also physically looks well. What doesn’t is that same basic costume, but you know, as this episode has said “the future isn’t set in stone.” I’ll just look past it for now. (They probably did that to clearly imply that it very much IS them as adults, any slight difference could only lead to thoughts that it’s different people, apparently lol.)

Back to our present day, Hawkmoth is finally living in the moment that he’ll get his wish in the future, only to be bursted with:

“There’s a Hawkmoth in my future. . But it isn’t you.”

(Mmmm, tea. Didn’t I say it would be interesting if Nathalie betrayed Gabriel and became the ultimate bad guy in the future to come on the last ML post I made? This cruelty tea is delicious btw.)

Hawkmoth is now the big sad to learn he won’t be in power for long.

Timetagger is close to getting the miraculous, but then the future duo steps in and helps out in disarming him. Victory once again from the past to the future.

Then we learn that the akuma was Chris/Noel the entire time, and has picked up rapping?? (My personal headcanon is that: Nino grew up to become a profesional DJ/music producer and his little brother helps him by providing any lyrics or vocals. It’s a cute idea, okay?) Anyways Bunnix is returned to her time and Paris is saved once again.

Meanwhile we catch up on Gabriel “the big sad” Agreste commenting how he’s not in power in the future and that he’s a failure now if only he recognizes that as a father. But then Nathalie comforts him that it’s probably not a failure. . . But perhaps a sign of victory. . .

(Nathalie, I’m on to you. I’m past “just thoughts” and am now full on theories with you)

Now on to concluding the episode, Mr. Remier is akumatized upset yet again and Marinette can’t babysit The Three Musketeers, instead Lila can.

Side note: If Lila wasn’t such a snake, she could actually be decent at story telling with kids and maybe even looking after them. Huh. Who knew.

Ladybug and Chat Noir have some more encouragement time with poor pigeon man and recommend he finds a new animal to look after. Pigeons just aren’t cutting it for him. After leaving they go over the wild villains they’ll face. . . Like Mr. Rat?

Who is that?!? Such a crazy name.

I wonder how that akuma’s origins even started. . .

Lol.

And that’s that.

Conclusion: This episode gave us Alix with a miraculous as well as explanation to her badass family heirloom, minor cameos of future Ladybug and Chat Noir, and overall some kind of progression. This is an episode I was looking forward to, and I’m glad it wasn’t handled as filler.

I give it a 9 out of 10 butterflies. Not bad.

How would you rewrite Mayura into a terrifying villain who actually “makes Hawkmoth look like a baby” in comparison and is “Hawkmoth’s new boss”? Would you make her a separate character from Natalie or not? What’re her goals, motivations, danger level? Is the Peacock brooch damaged?

One, Mayura would not be Nathalie. Nathalie was a dumb, not well built up, and boring, cliche choice. And very unimpressive to what was first built up. She’s a lot more calculating and aggressive than Gabriel, but she’s no way his boss or someone worse. Only thing that differentiates her is that she’s willing to go out there and fight. 

Nathalie wouldn’t be Mayura. Mayura would be someone new. She’d be in her early 20s and is someone who is related to India, so the name can be more fitting and has an actual connection. She can know a lot more about the miraculouses, potentially the descendant of Fu’s friend, and could have a sour view of Fu when she learns that the Guardian is in Paris. 

She’s someone that’s a more personal villain for Marinette. She could actually be related to Marinette (play off the possibility that Fu’s friend could be a Cheng) to make things even more personal, and to counter Gabriel and Adrien; she’s someone that gets along with Marinette, becoming an alternative mentor to her, one that connects with Marinette a lot, especially in this time where Marinette’s friendships are starting to get strained from Lila’s influence. 

Nathalie can misuse the peacock miraculous as Paon, though its not powered by a kwami, but an akuma, hence the existence of sentimonsters and the similarity to akumas (which makes Fu confused about how HM has managed to get two akumas out there). The true Mayura has Duusu with her, someone she’s had since she was little, is very close with, and both of them have ire directed at the one that came and stole not only the book from them a year ago, but Duusu’s miraculous. She is thankful to know that during the clash of the theft, Emilie, the woman she had trusted, paid the price, her mind and conscious locked away thanks to Duusu’s rage. 

With Paon active and in the open, Mayura watches her, binding her time, waiting for her moment to strike. Till then she gets closer with Marinette, and having been hurt by a betrayal, she starts to implant ideas in Marinette, make her wonder who can she trust. Fu though struggles to encourage Marinette to keep trusting. He was at a point where he didn’t trust anyone, not even the woman he loved; yet Marinette made him hopeful in having trust in people. It leaves Marinette unsure who to listen to. 

When the time when Paon slips up, Mayura strikes. The miraculous gets reclaimed, and with it, she reveals to Nathalie one of its true powers: Mind’s Eye, the power to slip into another’s mind, see what they see, warp their perception, speak to them, and manipulate them (would good use guiding those to safety). With this, she learns where HM is, and leaving Nathalie alone, shaken, and goes to face him. 

HM is immediately put on edge to see a new peacock, far more slender than Nathalie, a long dress that trailed along the floor, a pale mask that covered her own face with glowing pink eyes that were set against a black sclera. When she talked, her lips didn’t move, her melodious and ominous, easily sending chills down his spine. Taking out his sword, he charges her way, ready to dispose of her before she became a true threat. 

The 2nd power is summoned, Foresight, allowing her to see all that’s about to happen, and with it, she dances around him, her long skirt moving like ribbons around them, coming up tangle around his feet, to mess with his sight and perception of where she is, and making him more and more to try and get a blow it. With his growing frustration and weariness, her coy voice would fill his room, mocking, revealing she knew far more than him, and as a final blow, brought up Emilie, just to test and see if he had connections to the traitor. 

HM lashes out, and learns that day that Foresight wasn’t the only power this peacock had to summon as Mind’s Eye was summoned once more, and it left HM still and tense, finding himself outside his lair, facing an Emilie that was passed out on the ground before him, right in the airport, an empty miraculous and book lying near her. 

He felt a sharp point coming to rest on his chest, near his brooch. Mayura’s voice fills the area, echoing in his head. He was not worthy of the butterfly miraculous. He was an incompetent fool that wasn’t even worth her time. 

Mind’s Eye fades away, and HM sees a peacock themed dart pressed against his chest, cold pink eyes staring up at him. She tells him that he is to serve her now, or lose the butterfly then and there. With a grimace, HM submits, no longer the one running this show. 

Mayura comes to stand before the window, staring down at Paris. She tells him that he is to now go out and fight with his champions and not hide away like a coward, that he is to reclaim a miraculous for each of his associates, so that they may join him. When he growls a question about her goal, with a coy smugness in her voice, she answered that she is the Guardian of the Miraculouses, may even restore the old order, new and improved. But she was going to have her miraculouses once more, and would be the one to judge who was worthy, and then reclaim them from those unfit. 

“Like Ladybug?” Hawk Moth asked excitedly, thinking he still had a chance to get both. 

“Like Chat Noir,” Mayura answered simply. She’s been watching these for a long time while waiting for Paon to make her mistake. Ladybug she was impressed with. She young, carrying the weight of Paris on her shoulders, and took it all in stride, using her miraculous well and was a true hero to admire and take pride in. Mayura deemed she had a bright future as a miraculous hero, but Chat Noir... 

He did not deserve that ring. Not with how he was as a hero, not with how he behaved. The ring would be reclaimed, and either passed to someone more trustworthy, or kept safely sealed away. 

At her command, HM went out to fight with his akumas, and it was the first battle the heroes truly lost. Alongside HM’s brute power and aggression in his fight with his akuma, but they found themselves tripping up, seeing things that weren’t there. The akuma wound up cleansed, but the battle was lost and they barely escaped HM’s reach. 

Marinette comes to Fu, scared, and he becomes scared when she tells him what happened. He reveals that’s the peacock’s power, able to mess with the mind and sight. To brace for it, she needs to strengthen her mentality, and come to understand what is illusion and what is reality. If she come realize that what she sees is an illusion, she can be aware, and rely on her other senses to work around it till it fades. But it will not be easy to prepare. Trixx is summoned to help train Marinette and Adrien, help prepare them, challenging their sense of reality. 

Despite this, its not easy, not only did Mayura mess with what they saw, she started to talk to them, trying to torment them, tear them apart. Ladybug is the challenge between the two, she’s strong and certain in who she is, and while her anxieties and doubts are there, she’s not letting them overwhelm her, but using them as a strength to fuel her purpose. it just impressed Mayura all the more how strong this holder was. She even tried to tempt LB to her side, offer to be her mentor, pave the way to greatness for her, how much of a lethal team their joined intellect would be. LB stood strong in her no, even if some things Mayura said did get to her, what she was doing was wrong, and she would not work with her. 

Chat Noir, her target, she was giddy to find was easy to pick and tear apart. With his ego and entitlement, it fueled a sea of insecurities that he kept bottled up inside, and she got to see them coming out as a destructive way, often directed at the wrong person. He was not mentally strong. He was not stable or certain of who he was, did not accept his strengths and flaws and allowed them to define who he was. He was easy to push down and gradually pick apart. Any day now, he was going to break she can feel it... 

With Mayura at command, the heroes struggled, their partnership becoming more and more strained at Mayura’s torment and Adrien not having what it takes to handle it. With Mayura, she was able to direct and guide HM, being his eyes and able to foresee what was about to happen, giving him direction and he got a near success each and every time, for each and every fight. Its only LB’s pure resourcefulness that helped them get out each and every time. 

Mayura becomes a dangerous challenge and strain on them, challenging their will and what they stand for, and gradually started to make Adrien second guess himself as a hero, wonder how much of this was worth. Ideally, Mayura becomes the push to harden his resolve as a hero, to start getting serious. He even starts requesting lessons from Fu, to receive help and guidance. Marinette is all for Chat getting help, and spends less time with Fu so he can focus on her partner more, and with her time more opened up, she unknowingly welcomes Mayura into her life more, starting to get closer and closer to her...

Adrien is a Sentimonster (did I spell that right?) Theory!!!!

Hey guys- I know this isn’t the usual but I kinda fell down a wormhole today.

Ok so I’ve been reading/watching lots of theories that prove Adrien to be a sentimonster. It’s so hard not to believe it right??

But I was thinking about MLB today and was like hey why is Gabriel Hawkmoth?

Like what on earth is his motive??

Well we know for a fact that he is using the butterfly miraculous to get the ladybug and cat miraculouses. He wants to use them to make a wish.

We can infer that the wish has to do with his “missing” wife Emilie.

We think that she was the peacock before Nathalie, since he keeps the miraculous next to a picture of her.

We know that he and his wife went to Tibet together. We also know that Emilie is in fact not missing- she is rather in a coma in the Agreste’s basement (kinda creepy right?).

So it makes since that he is going to wish to revive Emilie.

We also know that Gabriel wishes he could let Adrien in on why he is doing all this. He knows that Adrien would understand because he knows Adrien loves his mom.

He even goes as far as to say that everything he does is just to make Adrien happy again...

I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT EVERYONE HAS HEARD THIS LINE BEFORE...

and that’s because we’ve all been upset and quick to judge saying that if Gabriel really cares about Adrien being happy he would start spending time with him. (Hopefully you remember know)

But then now we are left with a crazy new theory:

Emilie’s revival is not the motive.

But instead Adrien’s happiness is.

Gabriel wants to bring Emilie back, we assume, because he wants Adrien to be happy. He wants to be a family again.

So if Adrien was a sentimonster- would his happiness really be a super villains motive?

If Adrien is considered such baggage to Gabriel- why not just use Mayura to retrieve his amuck. We all know that this can be done after Feast, since Mayura was able to threaten the s-monster with retrieving its amuck, even though we didn’t create him.

So this makes me believe that Adrien is NOT a sentimonster. Sure some of these theories actually make a lot of sense- but when you look at the whole picture it just would make the plot line crash. There would be literally so MANY PLOTHOLES that no one could explain.

But then we are left to think about how Emilie went in to a coma:

My top three reasons are:

A. She created a very powerful sentimonster like the one in Feast

B. She created a bunch of little sentimonsters that slowly drained her

C. Just wearing the miraculous and interacting with the very bi-polar Duusuu caused her to take on the peacocks wounds.

Although there are many other reasons why she is in a coma I think it is very important that we first learn what on earth happened to the peacock miraculous because we know it was fine when Master Fu used it as a boy. We can rule out feast as being the reason why it is broken because then the miraculous ladybugs would have repaired it along with all the others. And we know that it was found in the same region as the butterfly- so why wasn’t the butterfly affected?

So to summarize that we basically need to understand who used the peacock in the past and what is has been used to do.

Ok ok sorry went really off topic there-

But back to the main idea now that we have gathered some evidence and reasonings:

I think that since Adrien is so publicized that it would be easy for people to notice that he always looks the same/ never ages. If he was really a sentimonster, his dad would not want him in the limelight where people would notice that something is very off.

Also the picture Adrien drew as a child- this signifies the fact that Adrien does have substantial memories and emotions related towards his childhood that would be impossible for a sentimonster to understand, even if Emilie tried to explain it to him. Even though it is strange that we never see any photos of Adrien as a child around the house-(he’s only a teen in all the photos) we can guess that he did in fact have a solid upbringing that he was present for.

So back to my original theory that Gabriel’s motive is to make Adrien happy again.

I think that Gabriel doesn’t want to just awaken Emilie, he would then have to explain everything he’s done- after all she knows he has the miraculous and has been listening to his annoying rants in the basement for over a year now. (That is if she is in a coma where she can still hear)

I think Gabriel wants to change the timeline to back before they went to Tibet and found the miraculouses. Then he would be able to convince Emilie that it would be unsafe to go. I have a feeling that their trip took place a year before the first season aired- meaning Adrien would be born and all would be normal and Emilie wouldn’t be in a coma/dead yet.

This way he wouldn’t be paying for it by risking someone’s life- instead the balance would mean that they would undo an important event in the future that would affect someone in the show greatly. And it would mean that Marinette and Adrien would never be chosen to be miraculous holders, since we can assume there would be no Hawkmoth.

A parallel in the series to this is the theme behind the snake miraculous in Desperada when Adrien keeps turning back time to before anything bad happens to Ladybug, so that they can change their strategies. Am I the only one thinking that this could be a major hint at the future finale for Miraculous?

Ten years had passed since Luka Coufaine and Marinette Dupain-Cheng had started dating. And it was five years since the last time anyone in Paris had seen Ladybug, Chat Noir or Hawkmoth. Not that there weren’t any miraculous holders around anymore. Quite the contrary. Mulmouse sighed as she looked over her beautiful city. “A beautiful night for a patrol Princess.” A voice behind her called. Mulmouse smiled and looked back. “Monarch, there you are.” The new holder of the butterfly miraculous was a blond handsome man. His costume resembled that of a musketeer. A rapier at his side, antena’s on his hat instead of a feather. His cape represented his namesake’s wings. Brown boots went up mid-calve revealing black pants, a warm orange vest appeared from beneath his black soubreveste. Instead of the Christian cross, he wore an M. M for Miraculous. His blond hair peeked from underneath his hat. The black mask framed the familiar green eyes. Though they were no longer catlike when he transformed. Mulmouse was happy to see that he hadn’t gone through with his plan to grow a mustache and a goatee to complete his look. It would be too weird. “It’s a pleasure as always to serve you,” the young man vowed as he bowed for the woman with the midnight black buns. Her costume had changed since her teen years. While the coloration had stayed the same black and grey with pink highlights she’d made some changes to the full body suit concept. She now wore black boots that reached up to her mid-thigh and ended in pink fur. Long black gloves covered most of her arm to once again end with a ring of pink fur. This all paired with grey thighs and a grey, formfitting jacket with a fur collar. What had stayed the same was the jump rope tail, the mask and the pink ribbons in her hair. “Don’t let my husband hear you say that.” She teased looking back to the city. “How is Viperion these days? I haven’t seen him since before my world tour.” “Sleep deprived. The kids are keeping us both busy. He would’ve come out but we couldn’t get a babysitter, Still when I heard you were back in town… I couldn’t wait until Monday to catch up.” Monarch sat himself next to her, smiling flattered. Even if they never ended up together as he’d once hoped they would, the former cat and ladybug wielders were closer than any of the other holders. Such was their nature. “I heard there was quite the exclusive party tomorrow. Weren’t you invited?” he knew she was of course. His little mouse had organized the whole happening after all. She giggled “I am. But I wanted some time with just the two of us without having to be hostes… How’s Plagg?” she wondered. “Happy to be on holyday. Thanks for not making me hand him over by the way, after everything.” He gently touched the empty ring on his hand. The kwami it belonged to was at home, taking a nap in between the yet to be unpacked boxes. “Of course! I couldn’t bare to part with Tikki unless I had to. And she hasn’t so much as hinted at needing to go back in the box ever. Why would I deny you Plagg?” It was meant rhetorically but still he answered. “You’re father isn’t the cause of all this.” This earned him a shove. Not even a playful one. “Don’t talk like that. You were never at fault for what he did. And when you found out you managed to get away and find me so we could take him down. Even whit all of that information dumped on you, you still did the right thing. You did your mother proud. I know it. Should I bring along Dussuu to remind you?” Monarch smirked and shook his head. “I don’t think I’d be able to handle her right now.” They fell back in silence. “Are you going to visit them?” she asked carefully. He just shrugged. “I did. A few times. Mayura’s health is almost entirely back to normal.” She saw his shoulders relax at that. “Hawkmoth couldn’t even look at me,” this made him tense back up. “Nor should he! He could’ve killed you!” They both sat in stunned silence. Neither of them had ever before put in words what had almost happened that last battle. Mulmouse sighed, scooted closer and hugged her friend. “Yeah, I know.” Paris didn’t know this, barely any of the other holders knew, but during that last epic fight Chat Noir and Ladybug had cornered Mayura and Hawkmoth. Mayura barely holding on to her transformation, Hawkmoth desperately lashing out. His sword drawn he’d charged for a stunned Ladybug. Only a last moment reflex had kept the blade from running through her stomach. Chat had pounced on the villain in blind rage. At this point he knew the girl behind the mask, he also knew that he’d lost his chance. That didn’t mean that anyone would ever get away with hurting his lady, his princess. “Are you insane! Is killing a teenager really how far you’re willing to go? She’s someone’s child! She’s someone’s best friend. She’s the love of someone’s life! How dare you try to take her away from them?” This had snapped Hawkmoth out of his desperate rage. His broche gave out and none other than Gabriel Agreste fell to his knees. Chat had snatched the broche away as the man fell apart. Realizing what he’d become by not dealing with his grief. Chat and Ladybug had handed him and Mayura, Gabriel’s assistant Nathalie, over to the police. Though Nathalie had to be rushed to a hospital. The peacock Miraculous was to be kept safe until Marinette, the new guardian of the miraculous, found a way to repair it. The butterfly was handed to Gabriel’s son, her partner. Both agreed that Ladybug and Chat Noir weren’t needed anymore, but that the world would always need heroes. And so Paris had now eighteen resident superheroes. Though most of the year they were spread all over the world due to the whims of life. Except this weekend. Monarch had calmed down and Mulmous had released her embrace though she still sat by his side. “I tried to follow your tour a bit. You’ve made quite a name for yourself,” she probed gently, trying to lean towards a more pleasant subject. “Well… Yeah, Sorry for leaving on you like that.” He looked down as he remembered how sudden he’d left a year ago. “Hey I understood why. No one here was waiting for a new butterfly hero. Which was stupid since the two of you are nothing alike… You know I would’ve stood up for you right? I already was. I mean, they’re much more positive and supportive of Monarch, of you now, but you shouldn’t have felt like you had to prove yourself literally everywhere else first.” Mulmouse shifted uncomfortable. A little mad at how much her partner had been hurting without telling her. “I know, which was all the more reason to leave. I wouldn’t have been able to forgive myself if people treated Mulmouse with suspicion because you associated yourself with me. A bad reputation is hard to get rid of. That’s why my father always put so much effort in me having a good one. That’s what allowed me to save enough of the company he built to…” he caught himself and changed his reasoning slightly. “maintain a stable income for College and travels.”   Mulmouse nodded, unaware of his slip up. “Yeah. The company hasn’t crumbled in your absence by the way,” she informed him. He nodded, he hadn’t been worried for a second. He hadn’t counted on her giving birth to twins of all things. Still. If there was anyone who could juggle keeping a multi million company afloat, being a mother of three, a wife, a friend, a designer and a superhero, it would be his Princess. “How’s Tikki.” “Annoyed that her vacation is about to be over.” They both laughed. It was clear that the two kwami’s shared a deep love for one another, but Tikki loved giving Plagg a hard time even more. “Let’s give the city a sweep before your husband thinks I’ve kidnapped you.” Mulmouse rolled her eyes but followed.

The next day was a rush of preparations. The party was being held in one of the company’s many multipurpose rooms. Usually it was used for fashion shows or photoshoot stages. Today it was a reunion of their old class and in a deeper sense of all the heroes of Paris, plus one oblivious civilian everyone hoped would stay away.

Marinette had made a miniature version of the venue, supposedly to show the people assisting her to set everything up what she wanted where so they didn’t need to ask her every five minutes.

But she also planned to hang it up on the roof so the Kwami’s would have a little party of their own overlooking their chosens.

It had taken them most of the day, but finally everything was perfect. The theme was akuma’s. Everyone would come in outfits inspired by their akumatized selves. Had Marinette made most of these outfits herself? Yes.

Did all profits go to a charity that focused on helping people with mental health issues? Of course.

She sighed satisfied as she secured the kwami dancefloor on the roof. As a teenager she’d never risked this little balancing act. But she had gotten better about keeping her balance. She got down and picked up the box with miniature chairs and snacks for the kwami’s. Her first guests were due to arrive in an hour. Tikki and Mulou had offered to help, but this was her idea, her party, she would do this on her own. She finished setting up the kwami party and looked at her work with satisfaction. Everything was ready.

Suddenly she was grabbed and carried away. She caught a glimps of the elevator shaft and then she was in her office, sitting on her desk and entangled in a passionate kiss with her husband, or as he was right now, Viperion.

Once they let go of each other he muttered “Scales off” and captured his wife’s lips once again. This time as his civilian self. Luka Coufaine.

“Madame Coufaine, you were missed last night. And this morning you were gone before I even got out of bed,” he whispered as he made a trail of kisses down her throat. She let out a breathy laugh.

“Were my children dissatisfied without their mother there?” she wondered.

“Your children were alright, though the twins clearly prefer being fed by their mother. Your husband on the other hand can’t help but feel restless when his wife is off in the city of love with some dashing superhero.” He pulled her in a close embrace nuzzling his face against the space where her neck and shoulder met. His tone was earnest but not void of humor.

“Might I remind my husband that he is a very dashing superhero himself,” she said while stroking his shoulder length hair. The turquoise tips had remained with him even into adulthood.

His clothing style had matured but still channeled his love for rock music and his love for his wife since every single piece of clothing he wore right now was something she’d made for him. Black jeans with a turquoise snake slithering up his left leg. A black shirt with turquoise lining underneath a jeans jacket with an open snakemouth on the back.

Luka hummed against her skin. She couldn’t help but relax in his embrace.

“Let’s hope no one saw my dashing hero kidnap me here. Imagine the gossip,” she joked.

“Your people let in your husband. Viperion only appeared when I found you all alone on top of a dangerous ladder.”

She chuckled. “And of course you had to save me from any possible harm. And after that you helped yourself to your prize,” she summarized. Luka hummed in confirmation.

“Where are our little angels?” she wondered.

“Getting ready for the party. Did the babysitters RSVP?” he checked as he handed her a coathanger that held her dress for the evening.

“Yup. And they better show, I put effort in their dresses after all.” She muttered as she walked into the small bathroom. One of the perks of being the CEO’s second in command.

She got changed as quick as she could. Since she and Adrien were a) hosting and b) never akumatized they were going to attend as Hawkmoth and Mayura. She’d designed a dapper costume for Adrien and for herself a stylish dress, not that it was hard with the classy costumes she took inspiration from. If she had to give the villains one complement it would be their sense for style. Even if Hawkmoth rarely showed it when designing super villain costumes.

She put up her hair in a single stylish bun, adorned with a few small synthetic peacock feathers.

She added peacock themed hangers to her studs and put on a necklace of linked, metal feathers.

Finally a dash of blue eyeshadow and lipstick. Blue mascara and a silver tip to her lashes and she was good to go. She hadn’t put this much thought in her looks since her wedding day.

She walked out of the bathroom to find her husband changed and looking at himself a slight scowl on his face.

“Are you alright dear?” she asked. Luka turned and his mouth fell open. Once upon a time this would’ve made her a blushing, blubbering mess. She had more self-control now.

She spun around for him slowly, showing off everything her dress had to show.

“What do you think?” she asked misschieviously.

“That I can’t let you anywhere near anyone looking like that. And that we better get down or I’m going to ruin that dress.” Marinette chuckled, though she hadn’t forgotten his sour mood of a few moments ago.

“What was bothering you?” she pushed gently.

Luka sighed. “The costume just reminded me of that day…” He looked away, ashamed of his confession.

“It’s okay. We worked past that didn’t we?” Luka nodded.

“We did. Still, it’s not a memory I’m fond off.” He walked towards the window, unable to look her in the eye. Onichan. That had been his name. Lila Rosi had been his trigger. He’d visited his sister’s school to talk to her and his girlfriend before classes started. Rosi had tried to worm her way in the conversation, Luka, sensing the distress this brought Mari had tried to block her off. Juleka however had engaged with her. Mari had been called over by her friend Alya and he’d encouraged her to get out of there.

Lila had immediately started to try and appeal to him. Spouting out stories about how tight she and Ladybug were and did she mention when she met Jagged Stone? Luka had dismissed her politely keeping an eye out for Marinette, making sure she was alright. Things changed when Juleka noticed her brother’s discomfort and told Lila that she was crossing a line.

Lila dismissed her with a sickenly sweet voice. “I’m just being friendly. I get that you’re confused about how normal girls act around guys.”

This had set off a fire in Luka’s soul. He’d blown off against Lila. He would not stand for someone making his sister feel like anything other than normal.

The bell rang and Lila had given him a fake apology a hug and a warning that if he ever embarrassed her like that again his little baker girl would face the consequences.

He’d stormed off and before he even fully walked out the gate he got hit by an akuma.

Onichan was there to protect his sister and all his loved ones from those who sought to do them harm.

“Luckily you can just feel that way nowadays without worrying about a little butterfly making things worse,” he muttered. He felt a small frame press against his back as Marinette hugged him from behind.

“Everyone here tonight had their low moments. Even me and Adrien. What matters is how we learn from them and walk on towards the future. Will you come with me?”

She let go and held out her hand. He smiled.

“Always.”

I’ll probably add a little extra treat one of these days. The party should be fun to write at least.

So due to my disappointment with the current 3 season of Miraculous Lady I made the terrible,TERRIBLE idea of imagine a rewrite/reboot/changes to the first season. I mean in 20 years it’s possible ML could get rebooted so why not start off with a possible fresh start to a reboot that may or may not happen.

Season 1

So season 1 starts with Marinette and her parents moving to Paris in her parents new bakery (they had previously lived somewhere else, possibly in an another town in France or China) Either way Marinette's’ excited to finally live in Paris which has been a long life dream of hers, to flourish her future goal as fashion-designer.

Meanwhile we have Adrien who’s life is pretty much the same as in the show except he’s not a model. (Gabriel’s very overprotective so no model job for Adrien!) Adrien has a habit of running away since he’s always stuck at home.

After running away from his bodyguard Adrien accidently crashes into Marinette in front of the school. He pleads her to take him with her and her being a totally sweethearts lets him come along. They spend the whole day together becoming friends and bonding over being the new kids at school.

)We of course have a scene Hawkmoth, making a dramatic entrance through the shadows as he sends his corrupted butterflies to create monsters out of people negative emotions.

They’re having a great until Stoneheart appears-crashing through town! The duo make haste trying to find shelter make many stops on their way to help others. They take cover in an alley where they’re approach by an hooded figure holding two boxes. The figure proclaims that they’re the new chosen to holders of the ladybug and cat miraculouses. Marinette hesitates but Adrien convinces her to give it a try and promises to help her.

She accepts and they transform into the superhero duo Ladybug and Cat-noir! After a few mishaps they stop Stoneheart, purify the butterfly and turn things back to normal. They make haste to Marinette’s place before their miraculouses runs out of power. Marinette’s exhausted still doubting if she’s right for the job but again cheers her up, praising her for saving everyone. Sabine then appears (wanting to check up her daughter) sees Adrien and ask who he is. Marinette bubblers as she tries to come up with a reasonable lie and gets surprised when Adrien says that he’s her boyfriend.

Sabine’s surprised and runs off to tell Tom.Marinette is of course confused about what Adrien just said. He tells her it’s a perfect coverup: if any wonders where they are they can say they were on a date or are spending time together as a couple. Marinette parents then appears asking if Adrien wanna stay for dinner but he turns down the offer since he has to go home.

At home Gabriel (is with good reasons) mad that Adrien snuck out and has been worried sick. They have an somewhat honest heart-to-heart talk about Adrien being tired feeling locked up at home with no friends. Much to his dislike Gabriel agrees that maybe being locked up at home might not be the best for Adrien so he allows him to go to school. Adrien’s overjoyed and runs off to call Marinette about the good news.

After that things plays out pretty much the same as the rest of season one with the exception of that now Marinette and Adrien fake-dating. No more annoying love-square drama, instead we got cute scenes between them becoming closer (with a few hints of a romance blooming).

Then we come to season 1 two-part finale!

Things start with Ladybug and Cat-Noir fighting off another villain of the week with an figure in the shadows watching them in battle.

After a job well done the duo off eating ice-cream reminiscing about all their battles and how far they’ve come. Too bad Master Fu appears ruining the mood demaing that they give they miraculouses to him since he finds them too young and unworthy. They refuse so master Fu has no choice but to take them himself. He manage to do so and runs off with Marinette and Adrien chasing after him. He escapes leaving the two pairs worried about what they’ll do without their powers.

They regroup to Marinette’s home discussing about their current dilemma. Marinette wonders if what master Fu said was right about them but Adrien refuse to believe that’s right. They’ve a fight that ends with them “breaking up” since they’re no longer superhero-partner they might as well stop fake-dating. Adrien runs off and Marinette stays crying to herself, wishing she had Tiki to talk to.

We then cut off to Master Fu placing the miraculouses in the miracle box as he sense a presence in the room. The hooded figure from episode one appears asking why he took the miraculouses from Adrien and Marinette, they’re after all the new chosen wielders. Master Fu gets furious, ranting towards the figure that he’s the guardian and it’s his duty to find the miraculouses chosen wielders-He will not make the same mistake again! They have quick with with the hooded figure telling master Fu that he’ll regret his choice.

The next day at school things are awkward between Adrien and Marinette which only gets worse when people find out about their breakup. (Chloe’s of course overjoyed and goes way overboard trying to make him date her) Nino and Alya tries to make them reconcile but Marinette and Adrien refuse to talk to each other.

Of course thing gets worse when another monster/villain attacks the city. Master Fu tries fighting it at first but quickly realises that he’s not strong enough to do it on his own. Meanwhile Adrien and Marinette are trapped with no chance of escaping. While Adrien tries to find a way out Marinette snaps and blurts out how sorry she is for everything she said in their previous fight. Adrien says he’s sorry too. They patch things up and Master Fu manage to save them. He gives them their miraculouses back saying he was wrong from taking them and that they’re are worthy.

After saving the day they meet up with Master Fu who gives them the backstory to the miraculouses; the miraculouses(cat,ladybug,bee,tortoise,fox,peacock and butterfly) where made to keep the world in balance and fight against evil. For a long the their biggest enemy has been a group of spirits (based on the chinese zodiac) who has repeatedly tried to take over the world. 20 years ago master Fu gave the miraculouses to a new group of chosen wielders. They fought bravely but in a battle against the spirits the miraculouses spreads out as the wielders sent the evil spirits away to another realm. He has spent 20 looking for the miraculouses and has so far only found the bee, fox and tortoise. He warns them that the cat and ladybug are most powerful of them all since they have the power to change time and space itself which reasons why Hawkmoths want their miraculouses so badly. He says he’ll train them so they can unlock new abilities has their battle with Hawkmoth has just begun.

On their way home Marinette and Adrien are happy that they’re friends again and Adrien asks that since they’re back as Ladybug and Cat-Noir if they should go back to fake-dating. Marinette shoots down the idea since she hated lying to everyone and much rather want them to stay as best-friends. Adrien happily accepts.

The season ends with Hawkmoth once again lamenting his defeat when a voice tells him not to give up, that he will acquire the miraculouses to grant his wish, says it’s time for her to give him a helping hand.

(I’ve also thought up the plot and changes to season 2 and 3 so if anyone’s interest I can write it down them too.)
