one of my favorite things about zedaph is that on a server full of people that find strange and oft-overlooked minecraft mechanics or rare events and then see just how far they can push them in the name of spectacle or efficiency or world-breaking, zed is over here finding these mechanics in order to do the weirdest things he can think of in as entertaining a manner as possible
like i 100% have faith in zedaph's theoretical ability to be just as efficient or spectacular or world-breaking. if he wanted to do that stuff, i trust that he absolutely could. but thats so far from being his priority. instead, hes going to spend around a week of irl time focused entirely on eventually having the good luck to spawn in something insanely rare so that he can convert it into something even rarer, the result of which being something that 99% of the server reacts with complete and utter shock that it even exists in the first place, just because its zany and funny and he wanted to. and i love that
for 1. most people are gonna take advantage of black friday and wont see your specific niche tumblr post, I hate to say it
2. the us isnt running out of money for war any time soon, so...
3. this is just antisemitism???????? all we need is some (((echoes))) around the us and israel and then I'd have no reason to suspect otherwise from op...............
A classic: the werewolf you’re head over heels for strings you along for half your life, and you’re dumb enough to still follow him. To be his doggy if you will
This episode focuses a great deal on how the boys felt about the situation ; it emphasizes Jin's guilt and anger, Fluke's fear for himself and himself only, and Tee's guilty conscience (no wonder he's the most scared of all in the current timeline if that's how Non disappeared). Not that it keeps him from enjoying their little success. We get close to nothing on Top, as usual.
But we get a few things on Por. I don't think he cares about whatever happened to Non. It's been established that only being impaled on a branch and slowly bleeding out had the power to make him feel anything about him anyway.
He looks to be proud of himself ; after all, he got what he wanted. The movie is a hit, Non's name was written out in favor of his, his parents, his father especially, are proud and finally acknowledging him. And yet...
I would gif the entire scene if I could, cause damn if he doesn't go through a face journey. Victory doesn't taste as sweet as you thought it would, Por ? Is being acknowledged for something you didn't do iffy ? Does it feel bad to realize that your father would think Non more deserving to be his son than you ? Is it bitter to know that you'll always have to be a fraud to get his love ?
Now I'm not defending him. His father loathed the way Por used his money and social status to get everything done instead of putting in the work, and what did Por do to fix it ? He used his money and social status to get the movie done instead of putting in the work. And I think, I hope, that this little moment above is when he started to realize it.
it does something incomprehensible to my little writer’s soul whenever alex articulates a phenomenon of the writing process i’ve always picked up on and then goes on to describe it in exactly the same way
fellas, y'all know i'm a wwx stan and all, so because of that it's kind of an important thing i remind everyone that sunshot wwx did steal the bodies of people's grandma's. like, it's a whole thing how he did steal people's grandmas. he doesn't deny it!! he's actually quite ashamed of it!! it wasn't just wen soldiers, he specifically digged up the graves of innocent wen ancestors and made them fight their own descendants for the pure horror of it
like... the point of the story isn't that wwx didn't do messed up shit during the war. the point is that no one batted an eye when he did it back then, and even celebrated him for it. but after he defected to save innocent war prisioners, suddenly all those things he was admired for were used to demonize him.
mdzs is an elaborate commentary on mob mentality and hipocrisy that spans even beyond the protagonist. to cheapen it to some disney channel movie level of shallowness is insulting at best

[Gifs description slightly expanded upon alt text: gifs of Amelia Pond and the Eleventh Doctor, from the TV show Doctor Who (2005). They’re in a baby’s room, with Amy being heavily pregnant.
She kneels next to Rory's ashes, slightly rocking herself, looking up at the Doctor. She says, "Save him. You save everyone, you always do. It's what you do."
"Not always," the Doctor says, standing and fidgeting with his fingers. A close-up on Amy's face shows her tearful eyes and the tear tracks on her cheeks. Her slight hopeful smile disappears, her face turning cold. "I'm sorry," the Doctor says, looking down, and the close-up on his face shows his regretful expression.
Amy turns scornful and accusing as his words sink in. She leans forwards, saying, "Then what... is the point of you?"
The Doctor looks down again, staying silent.
The camera goes back to a wide shot of Amy, showing her tenderly grasping onto Rory's ashes. The camera still does a close-up on the Doctor’s face, showing him mouth something as he makes to move forwards and closer to Amy, but hesitates to do so. /End GD]
This is the dream. Definitely this one. Now, if we die here, we wake up, yeah? (in bold) Unless we just die. (in plain text) Either way, this is my only chance of seeing him again. This is the dream. (in bold) How do you know? (in plain text) Because if this is real life, I don’t want it (”it” is italicized). I don’t want it.
You know, I feel like one important thing that’s barely ever mentioned about Sun Wukong is how while he very much is a murder monkey who intimidates people into giving him free stuff he also only rarely ever starts the fights he gets into. His battle prowess means that he’s pretty capable of escalating until his opponents either give up or end up dead, but he hardly goes out of his way to throw down. Like just to give a few examples:
His first murder of the Monstrous King of Havoc was committed because this guy was “brutally abusing” SWK’s family, including through kidnapping their children;
While he did indeed steal a lot of immortality-granting treats from heaven, he refused to go to war with heaven until the gods “had broken down the door [to the Mt. Huaguoshan cave], and are about to fight their way in.”
The two times when he encounters a band of robbers, he only kills them after they had repeatedly tried to kill him.
He kills the Six Eared Macaque because he had “dare[d] change into my appearance, take my descendants captive, [and] occupy my immortal cave.”
So the Monkey King is is many ways a selfish and impulsive monkey, but its good to remember that at least in the og classic he’s not going out of his way to start fights, even though he WILL do everything he can to end them in his favor.
