My purpose and singular mission in life is to make sure queer and/or neurodivergent kids know that sometimes it really is their parents who are stupid and other adults are on their side. This, unfortunately, does not make me popular with their parents. Gonnae keep doing it though.

#kid was very overwhelmed by the theatre environment and panicking and didnt want to see the show cause it looked scary #and the mum was trying to get me to tell the kid its not scary (no i dont lie to kids i told her there are lots of funny bits but a couple #of maybe scary bits too)#and I told her hey listen the bravest thing you can do is tell people you arent comfortable somewhere. youve done so well to do that #and i gave her a program so she can learn more and make an informed decision if she wants to come another time #and i asked her what her favourite things are and she said science and animals and i told her to try the museum its super fun #and her mum was all 'ugh shes a nightmare she's ~on the spectrum~'#and i went yeah me too. and told the kid this isnt for everyone and she did well to tell me and i hope she likes the museum #and like. her mum yelling at her was making everything worse. talking to her like a person with agency?#got her from full panic attack to actively smiling at me in under 5 minutes #sometimes your parents or guardians are in fact being stupid or rude! neurodivergent adults exist! other people see you and hear what you're #saying and won't be mad!#anyway. now IM very overwhelmed but i really hope that kid remembers this and i hope she has a great day #im going to get a coffee and sit under a tree for a while

when people complain about getting like, a 98% grade on something because it was "so close to perfect" its like. i understand what you're saying on a technical level. but that is a line of thought so far away from my experiences and ways of thinking that i do feel like im from another planet. 100% isnt even a real number to me

#i kinda understand when its something like a multiple choice test or something where there is an objective answer #it might feel like u got so close but just missed one #again still a bit alien to me because my scholarly performance is mysterious and anything over 70 is great to me #but i mean ive had a 98 before once in a math test. i did get exactly 1 bit of 1 question wrong #but i didnt really care that it was one off from perfect i was too busy being happy because that was the highest mark id ever received #and the previous math test i had taken got a 53% . grade 11 was a wild time for me in math class GHJKSHFKds #anyway i kinda see where ur coming from with stuff with right or wrong answers like that #but i sometimes get friends in class complain that they got a 95 or something on an art assignment #because they think they got docked 5 points for one or two little things #but i dunno. thats not really how fine arts departments in university tend to grade things #you dont start at 100 and get docked marks for things you got wrong. i dont think ive ever seen a 100% on something like that #tbh the numbers are a little arbitrary i find. i do prefer to try to get em higher because that helps with grants and stuff #but the numbers dont mean all that much in fine arts or in art history (my two majors) a 75 and a 95 can function the same depending on lik #weighting and context and feedback and whatever. i dunno its a wild world out there #it might just be the perspective of someone who did really goodbad in school. (GoodBad (tm) its when ur good but also kinda bad at school!)#compared to someone who got a lot of perfects in mandatory schooling. i sympathise i really do that kind of pressure sounds insane #but while i sympathize i cant really empathize as much unfortunately with this specifically orz its a world very far outside my purview!#100%s arent real to me so they never cross my mind to be worried about LOL

so today..this morning. my little brother took the wrong medication. he took his sleeping drugs at the top of the day and as such he was out COLD allllll day. genuinely like, all day he was asleep. meaning he was not gonna sleep tonight.

mum knows i stay up til like 3am normally anyway, so she was like can you be on babysitting duty you might have to be up all night. i was like sure.

we watched the karate kid 3 together, cause hes been hyperfixating on cobra kai recently (the karate kid sequel series), then i put on a couple cooking videos to make him hungry, then let him take his time to get the words out and tell me all about cobra kai while i was using the leftover pizza dough to make a pizza for us to share (i was also very hungry, and he didn't get any of my pizza at lunch cause he was asleep)

we talked about heaps of stuff and he wanted to talk about eminem so we showed our favourite eminem songs and then we ate the pizza. then i cleaned up and i unpacked and repacked and turned on the dishwasher. and i told him after i was done with the kitchen id get him some dessert, but by the time i was finished he was tired. so he went up to bed and i am the best big brother and im gonna make an incredible parent

#im really proud of myself #i normal struggle with him due to his disabilities like. our mannerisms and everything #are quite polar opposites #and that makes it hard for me to stay calm sometimes #but if im in control of the situation its ok #which is why im a great big brother when mum and dad arent around but its harder for me when they are #does that make any sense?#anyway. im really proud of myself i feel really good :33 #i like being a good parent #sorry for posting such a long post lol ill post a pic of the pizza to make up for it

really want to rent a house. i miss Roof Time

#when i was in high school id smoke cigarettes up on the roof after school sometimes #and just lay up there and listen to music #it was really nice #i miss it. i havent lived anywhere i could do that since #and sure - some apartment buildings have roof access but like... there arent any where i live due to zoning laws #and i miss laying on a slanted roof.#anyway... if i get this job im hoping and praying for... theres a few small houses for rent in the town #and with that particular job i could afford to rent one of them. it'd be great #and id have a YARD!#tree talks

i watched one (1) video of clips of hakka playing some game you control with your voice a few weeks ago and my brain absolutely latched on to that purple exorcist bird boy and Has Not let go since. it doesnt help that i also have been listening to shattered wings, raven's paradigm, and his covers of killing me, living ghost is alive, and marchen boyfriend and marchen girlfriend with flay on repeat for like two weeks, too.

yt also rec'd me a bunch of other clips so all of vanguard has been living rent free in my head the past few weeks but its been mostly hakka

#i think i need to start a journal #life is terribly disappointing sometimes #its worse when it’s disappointing in the anticipation of events yet to come #there are events i can see in my future of which i feel are… lackluster so to speak #im not sure what to do about this. surely i can change fate but how much change will fate allow if im just being picky #i have a vision and i want it to be followed #the details of a thing are the most important part #i need them not to be overlooked but i cannot in fact. direct god like my life is a movie #i fear overlooking…. everyone overlooks the important parts…. thats why people dress so badly all the time even when they’re trying not to #it is about the smaller things. its about the exact color its about the material and the structure and the way it intermingles with #the structure color etc of everything else u are wearing plus the color of your body and the lines they all make together etc etc etc so on #people tell me all the time its unfair that i look good in everything and its because of this that i ‘do’ ish. i dont theres so much i look #awful in… i have seen it. but i agree w them what they see i always look Right in and im CONVINCED. ppl who hate precure must be very sad

#the bin #you dont need to like it. its very much so not for everyone #but ive seen a lot if peopel who are genuinely angry that there are people above the age of 7 who genuinely like precure #its a fun time. its such a fun time. sometimes you just need to watch something sparkly and predictable and super light #precure is enjoyable to me bc they take a simple concept of a bunch of girls being magical fighter people. and then they just do that #nothing extra really added on. it has basic morals of like. friendship or whatever. but even that they dont go too hard on #some people have called it empty for this but ive watched shows that attempt the same and truly are empty #precure is just like. what if we made a show where the main point is that its cute and cool and stuff. and that its easy to watch #it goes down SO easily. thats why its such a big hit with kids aswell as adults. because you can enjoy the cute stuff in it and the rest of #it is extremely easy to watch. its a smooth experience #i dont know that every show in the series accomplishes this since i havent watched they all (yet...) but the ones i have really do #idk. its rare to see a show without much lessons or story to speak of that doesnt feel empty. but precure dies that #it usually has just enough story to have a show and they builds around it. and its great #i love this show a lot. i should draw some precure sometime. im quite fond of the yellow ones. and the like 3 greens ones #so sad. why arent there more? they are plenty popular so i dont unders6why they dont make them often #nobody car abt this but im talking about it anyway. i dont know anybody irl who likes precure #i care a lot abt this show. maybe my little sister would be willing to watch subbed stuff now. i bet she would like ojamajo #does ojamajo have a dub? i wonder..
