A/n: I do actually enjoy writing Angelus and I tried my very best to aim for affection lol !!

Love and honour were hellish words to him. Tenderness was weakness in his eyes. He hated Spike and Drusilla’s affection because it was a distraction. He had plans, big plans and they managed to get their feelings involved and mess it all up.

But when he found you it was impossible to stay away. He had found his own distraction, his own weakness. You drove him crazy, he hated you because he wanted you more than anything on Earth. He needed you, his mind thinking only of you.

You were his favourite obsession. His perfect weakness. He craved you the way he craved blood. The way he craved destruction and all evil deeds.

You were already sired and as bad as they come, looking to find yourself something exciting to fill your eternity with on the Hellmouth. And boy did you find it, just… not quite in the way you expected.

Angelus was cruel and there was a certain art to his brutality. You had never seen anyone (undead included) that took such pleasure from killing so indiscriminately. He drew you in, the danger excited you.

What you didn’t bank on was a need for connection within. A loyalty that somehow extended beyond himself. Only for you.

It twisted him up inside. Liking you was wrong to him but it made him want to do it more. After trying every mortal sin he only had his own nature left to explore.

He turned hot and cold with you when he caught himself softening, his anger at you for making him this way burned like fire. It hurt, but God did he make up for it with his affection.

He doted, he truly did. He kept you by his side always. He took you out anywhere you wanted to eat, you got your pick of the very best and freshest blood Sunnydale had to offer. He tortured anyone that tried to get close to you and he protected you in every way he could from the Slayer.

He killed for you. He went against his very nature for you. And it would only ever be you.

One night, you stayed in bed the entire time, feeding only on leftovers when he was usually so amped to kill fresh each night. His arm lazily around your shoulder as he pulled you close. He pressed kisses against your jaw and your neck, nipping and grazing against what had once been your pulse point.

“Nights like these, I feel for you”

He whispered against your skin, a sudden rough grasp at your limbs at what had tumbled from his mouth. You acted as if you hadn’t heard and he allowed himself to feel again.

He pressed kisses that would have been pure from any other mouth into your bare skin, a poison that you would never need an antidote for settled where your soul had been. It would only be filled by him.

You were his best distraction. The only one that he allowed his possession turn to affection.

When I read the episode description I was going to hate on Xander for forcing Cordelia to date him through a love spell because that's... gross and awful but then I watched the episode and it's slightly less awful so uh good for Xander for not being that much of a creep ig. Even though it's still kind of creepy

Cordelia's hair looks really nice in this episode

I find really hard to care about Bangel because of how gross it is for an immoral being to be dating a teenager. I'm sorry Buffy I want to sympathize with her in this plotline and i do feel bad for her, but not in the way the narrative wants me too.

"Angelus made Spike evil! William was just a harmless kitten! Without Angelus's influence he would have remained a fluffy little kitten even as a vampire!" Oh, where do I even begin with this take?

First off... vampires in the Buffyverse are pretty much evil by default. Some are more dangerous that others, but they're all pretty much evil. (yes, Harmony might not be super threatening, but she still does evil things, like kill people, kidnap Dawn, etc). So fluffy little kitten William, once he got turned, was gonna be evil. Really nothing else to it. This happens with or without the influence of other vampires. They're evil. They just are.

Secondly. I don't think William was 100% good and pure before being turned. Drusilla says "Oh, I see you. A man surrounded by fools who cannot see his strength, his vision, his glory. (beat) That and burning baby fish swimming all around your head." (according to the Sunnydale After Dark Transcript Library). Which to me reads as an implication that there was something dark lurking inside of him already.

Which brings me to my conclusion that even without Angelus's influence, Spike still would have been evil as a vampire. It's really not fair to blame Angelus (or Angel for that matter) for Spike's evilness. Spike is a vampire and (while he is capable of good, after significant character development), he's evil.
