My thoughts on episode 7
SPOILERS for season 3, episode 7 of the Animaniacs reboot
The emotions of the past two days took my mind off of the isolated hell of my own creation, but now I'm starting to get antsy again. I'm also starting to feel the dread setting in that Animaniacs is about to end for me. I only have two new episodes that I haven't seen, and that's probably it forever. I have rarely in my life had a week with such deeply mixed emotions.
This episode was good. We finally got a third Warner song, and it only took 7 episodes. I still can't wrap my head around how it took so long, but at least the song was good.
I just thought they looked cute here at the very beginning, dying in the heat.
Tumblr media
I liked Wakko comforting his sister.
Tumblr media
I liked how BOTH little sibs got it wrong instead of Wakko being portrayed as the dumb one.
Tumblr media
This very brief shot was also cute to me, the Warners staying entertained on the trip by playing a little game together.
Tumblr media
I like how often I've seen their tails and fur get fluffed up in shock/fear this season. Makes them feel more alive. And it's cute, of course.
Tumblr media
Now we get into the song. I like how, despite how cynical they usually are, the Warners seem to genuinely care about this issue and got a little shocked at the depth of Josh Polar's callousness towards it.
Tumblr media
Gotta at least mention Yakko's dancing here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While it did get me a little to see the genuine concern of Wakko's siblings here, it would hit much harder if I didn't know they were resuscitating him just to immediately celebrate his supposed death in the next episode. What happened, writers?
Tumblr media
The song really kicked into another gear at the end, which is what took it from good to great in my mind.
Tumblr media
Nice to see the sibs pulling out their Bugs Bunny antics. I would call him their mentor, but most people don't realize that the Warners are canonically older than Bugs Bunny, so technically they set the example for him, in-universe.
Tumblr media
I didn't really need the warning to know this was preachy, but I didn't mind it.
Tumblr media
Wakko saw his brother pull out a whole turkey, but his mind instead saw the energy efficient lightbulb to be a tastier snack. What a cute little enigma.
Tumblr media
The exchange about leftovers was genuinely great and totally in-character.
Tumblr media
And it's nice to see Yakko accepting Wakko's ignorance instead of beating him over the head with it like earlier in the reboot.
Tumblr media
Forget the impending and currently ongoing environmental catastrophes, forget the anarchic oncoming societal change, forget the impending doom of humanity, we need to pass green legislation to SAVE THE WARNERS!!!
Tumblr media
LOOK AT HOW THEY HOLD ONTO HIM! Dot sitting on his leg... babies.
This segment was good and the song was pretty great. Definitely slots in as my second favorite song of the season so far, after Do It Yourself.
Lawn in 60 Seconds reminded me of The Flame from the original series. Anthropomorphizing a small background object you'd never think to anthropomorphize.
Tumblr media
I already feel bad when I mow the lawn, and this segment didn't help. The grass and bugs who live there never asked to be savagely cut down by the lawn mower's blade, just for the purpose of humanity holding onto their perfectly manicured lawns!
All's Fair in Love and Door was interesting.
I liked that Pinky genuinely tried to listen to Brain and not go in the door, but he confused himself into doing it anyway.
Tumblr media
I thought the alternate reality concept was kind of creepy until I learned it wasn't the real Julia he had trapped in there. It's still pretty creepy, though, considering this Julia proved herself to be just as sentient as the real one... Can't Brain just leave it alone? Now you've messed up two different versions of the same person you created in the first place to serve your selfish emotional needs.
Tumblr media
I liked that Julia found out the truth on her own instead of Pinky spilling the beans.
Tumblr media
It was pretty cute how Brain tried to silently protect Pinky in the trashcan.
Tumblr media
Gay.
Tumblr media
At this point, though, I'm not sure they're going to go all the way with it. This would have been the perfect segment to do it in.
I'm not sure if this will ever amount to anything.
Tumblr media
It was an interesting segment that posed some deep moral questions on the nature of love and marriage. I think it could have been better if it went farther with things.
Cute Things That Can Kill You was a decent PSA, I guess. I'm pretty sure everyone was aware that pufferfish are deadly. That's like the whole reason they're a famous animal.
Tumblr media
The episode was pretty good. I would have liked it better if I didn't know what was coming next. Even though I've already seen it, it still fills me with a sense of dread just to see the thumbnail next on the docket. I'll probably post the official review of it tonight to get it over with, and then move onto episode 9 tomorrow and finish it up with episode 10 on Saturday. Then I'll be free and depressed simultaneously, just as you're supposed to be on social media.
This episode isn't as hard to rate as the other ones I've seen recently. It wasn't as good as my two favorites this season. It's about on par with episode 4, which is currently in third place. It's a hard call between them. I liked the Warner antics in episode 4, but this episode had a killer song and a more intriguing PATB segment. I probably have to give this one the nod.
My current ranking of season 3 episodes:
Episode 6
Episode 3
Episode 7
Episode 4
Episode 2
Episode 1
Episode 5
The list is splitting itself into clear parts. The top 2 are my absolute favorites, some of the best Animaniacs I've seen. The top 4 are all the episodes I'd consider legitimately good. The bottom 3 aren't bad, but had parts that made me go "meh." You might think it'll be an easy call on where to put episode 8, but I'm not sure. Most of that episode was actually good. It's just a few small parts that soured the entire episode, season, and show for me. Remove those parts and it'd definitely be up along with the top 4 in the "genuinely good" category. It's just that those parts also happened to have an indescribably huge negative emotional impact on me in general... I'll tackle that dilemma when I get there.
Feel free to add to the discussion of this episode if you want, but don't say anything about the episodes that come after. Thanks.

Animaniacs reboot season 3 spoilers:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two look like they go hand in hand. The first picture looks like the Warners that were with the doctor.
Tumblr media
…I know I’m gonna be scared this episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two look like they’re falling onto the island. Could be the polar bear one, though.
Let them out of the cagey-wagey. 🥺
Tumblr media
Maybe they keep getting flung? Can’t really tell which episode.
Tumblr media
STOP MAKING THEM GET HURT!!! The Warners RARELY got hurt. It’s always their adversary that does. Leave them alone!
I understand it can be comedic. But that’s not how the world of the Warners work. It’s supposed to show the mean person they’re dealing with get karma for their misdeed. And if the Warners get hurt a bit, it’s little and not like it kills them. Please tell me Yakko/Dot gets him out of there instead of a cutaway.
Tumblr media
S3E7
The Wrath of Khan/Lawn in Sixty Seconds/All’s Fair in Love and Door
Tumblr media
Smooth operator.
Tumblr media
Uh, is he falling cause he couldn’t see the cliff? Cause his lawn isn’t cut? I have no idea who’s in this segment.

What are some Animaniacs episodes from both the original and the reboot you would recommend to newcomers (like me)?
Thank you for your question!
Well, there’s the first episodes of each series, of course (btw although it is the longer show I’d suggest starting with the original before the reboot considering the reboot is really more of a sequel series).
But if you want less obvious options, I would suggest;
For 1993:
The Warners’ 65th Anniversary Special (Episode 65)
Yakko's World/Cookies for Einstein/Win Big (Episode 2)
HMS Yakko; Slappy Goes Walnuts; Yakko's Universe (Episode 3)
Taming of the Screwy (Episode 5)
Piano Rag / When Rita Met Run (Episode 7)
King Yakko (Episode 10)
Bonus segments: I’m Cute, Potty Emergency, Bumbie’s Mom, Bubba Bo Bob Brain, Smitten with Kittens
The idea of the list is that I’m recommending episodes that I think are good introductions to Animaniacs in general, not just my favourites. These episodes/segments either cover the Warners’ origin, serve as good introductions to what I believe are the best segments of the show besides the Warners, provide a good idea of what Animaniacs’ music is like, or is a good showcase of one/all of the Warners’ personalities and what they do.
For 2020:
Gold Meddlers/Pinko and the Brain/Math-Terpiece Theater: Apples (Episode 3)
Warner She Wrote; France France Revolution; Gift Rapper (Episode 7)
WhoDonut; Mousechurian Candidate; Starbox and Cindy (Episode 8)
Here Comes Treble; That's Not the Issue; Future Brain; The Incredible Gnome in People's Mouths (Episode 9)
Phantomaniacs; Fear and Laughter in Burbank; Bride of Pinky; Things That Go Bump in the Night (Episode 11)
Rome Sweet Rome/Backwards Pinky/Wakko's Short Shorts: Now Loading (Episode 14)
Bonus segments: Suffragette City, Ralph Cam, Roadent Trip, The Cutening, A Zit!, Yakko’s Big Idea
Again, the idea is that I think these episodes/segments are a good introduction to show’s characters and characterisations, songs, tone, etc. So nothing too continuity dependent, and nothing too far into the run (even though I really like a lot of season 3).
If you’d rather have a list of my favourite episodes and segments rather than the ones I think are good introductions, I made a post about them here.
If you do check these out, I hope you like what you see!

Good morning, Tobey! Could you draw Pinky in his swimsuit from Brain's Way on a sunny beach singing Beside the Seaside by Moose and Zee? It's one of my favorite Moose and Zee songs growing up as a child. The next picture you should draw is Moose in his red floral-print swim shorts wearing the same full-face scuba mask hooked up to the same double hosed regulator, a diving belt on his waist, and the same flippers on his feet that Diego wears whenever he's underwater chatting with Maurice LaMarche, the voice of Brain from Animaniacs. Also, put Maurice in Brain's swimsuit from Beach Blanket Brain and the diving gear from the Phineas and Ferb episode, "Atlantis." This request is due on April 4th, 2024 at 7 pm,
Finished your request! I loved how Pinky turned out

Why Pinky is my Favorite Animaniacs Character (Day 2 of Pinky Week)
(Quick note: This was supposed to come out yesterday, but due to an unforeseen conflict in my schedule, it had to be postponed to today. I've updated my upload schedule to extend an extra day to Pinky Week, therefore ending it on 3/18 rather than 3/17.)
Hi everyone! So, I decided in honor of the upcoming mysterious announcement from the Animaniacs Twitter plus it being Pinky’s Narfday, to dedicate an entire week on my Tumblr blog to talking about Pinky! That’s right! For 7 whole days, I’ll be talking about the different aspects of Pinky from his character to some of my favorite moments to explaining his relationship with Brain. I’m going to be covering it all. The unofficial beginning of Pinky Week was the post I made on Saturday, so go check that out for a start to the week! Also, be prepared for Brain Week, which is on its way in about 18 days . That will follow a similar formula, but will be better planned out. Alright, without further delay, let's begin! Happy Pinky Week!!!!
Tumblr media
(sorry this looks like crap but it's my official picture so)
3/13/23- Why Pinky is My Favorite Animaniacs Character:
2020-2021 (also known as the Warner Age): When I first started watching Animaniacs in 2020, I, like every other newbie to the fandom, latched on to the Warner Siblings. I just loved their comedic energy and adventures and couldn't get enough of it. I especially enjoyed Yakko, admiring his fast-paced energy and quick innuendos to a massive extent. When I finally watched the first 25 episodes of the original Animaniacs, I was ecstatic to see the Warner Siblings on my screen to be watched over and over again. Heck, when I first saw the trailer for the reboot, I solely focused my attention on Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, ignoring the other things entirely. I still had an appreciation for Pinky and The Brain and Slappy Squirrel, but I didn't think Pinky and Brain were all that funny (most of the jokes went completely over my adolescent head). I liked the mice because I thought their plans for world domination were cool and I found the plot of each segment interesting. Boy, the times have changed since then. I still had a large amount of respect for Pinky and Brain, but nothing else. The Warners were still number one. I even planned my first fanfictions around them. Unfortunately, I didn't have Hulu at the time, so watching the rest of the franchise was out of the picture. I had to rely on Animaniacs content from YouTube in order to experience the siblings. For the reboot, I watched song compilations and clips; I didn't even know what Brinky was for a long time. Regretfully, in early 2021, I took an extended hiatus from the Animaniacs fandom, returning back to Disney from March of 2021 to September of 2021. I'd occasionally make glances back at the Warners, but I wasn't that involved anymore. That was until some things re-kindled my appreciation for the fandom and started some new admirations: one video, two gay laboratory mice, and a fanfiction.
September 2021-November 2021 (the return)- One day, I was in a very crappy mood, so I decided to watch an Animaniacs video. It was the best decision I'd ever made. It instantly made me fall in love with the franchise and characters all over again. However this time, I fell in love with a certain duo after realizing that maybe, they weren't so bad after all. After discovering Fanfiction.net, I started reading a Brinky fanfiction. I instantly fell in love with the idea of the two being together, especially as someone who was questioning my own sexuality at the time. I started to watch Brinky compilations on YouTube, and I fell in love with the ship even more. When season 2 of the reboot came out, I found myself basically forgetting my previous obsession with the Warners, and began to dedicate my time to the mice.
December 2021 (Pinky gets personal): Then, I began to watch season 2 again, and I realized that I was connecting to Pinky in a personal way. I admired his love for Brain, his dedication to being kind, and how he didn't care about how others perceived him, rather he wanted to be himself. He showcased his gender non-conformity in an amazing way and no one judges him for it. It is taken 100% seriously with Brain not criticizing him for his wants. Pinky also doesn't care about how his sexuality will be seen as. He just wants to show his admiration for Brain in passionate ways, not caring if the latter doesn't desire these actions. I felt so secure whenever I watched him on T.V, like he was comforting me and protecting me from the troubles of the world. Sure he was inane at times, but that didn't matter. I still admired him and cared about his feelings and relationship with Brain. I was going through a tumultuous time during this period. My best friend abandoned me for a new girl after I'd came out to her. I was feeling super lonely and Pinky helped to aid in those woes. He'd make me laugh so hard I'd start crying and would fall to the floor. His voice brought a smile to my face and he could sing so well that I would start tearing up. While Brain served as someone I could relate to with his temperament, self issues, and dedication to those he "tolerated", I could relate to Pinky due to his emotional views and struggles for appreciation.
January 2022-Now (Fanfiction, Tumblr, Season 3, and Pinky): A lot has changed since 2020. I've started writing fanfiction for the first time to modest success, I've joined an amazing community on Tumblr and now have over 40 followers (thank you guys, you mean so much to me!), and my admiration for Pinky has only grown. Season 3 was a true surprise with how much my love for this mouse increased. I related to him, I loved his loyalty to Brain, his affection for his friend was amazing, and Pinky was seemingly perfectly fine with dressing in female clothes and interacting with Brain in a non-platonic way. Also, I noticed a few things with the third season that made me very happy. Firstly, Pinky actually has a real/possibly serious mental issue that I also suffer from!! His anxiety and stress problems are highlighted in the episode "Talladega Mice" much to my and a majority of the fandom's delight. Pinky's anxiety attack was portrayed with such realism that it was almost surreal. In fact, a very similar situation had happened to me before. It was also handled in a very nuanced, yet comedic way, not only being relatable, but being hilarious. Pinky's ways of coping with stress are scarily similar to the ways I cope with stress (i.e. having someone talk to me in a silly voice, laughing, physical touch). It's kind of comforting. His relentless optimism also is admirable, even in a stress-filled situation. Another thing I notices was the fact that Pinky never mentioned a female love interest in any capacity during this season. In the previous two, Pinky is given a female love interest or mentions one. But in season 3, he focuses his attention on Brain. This kind of shows some character development, as Pinky seems to alter his affections from random female characters to his closest companion. I only noticed this change after re-visiting the series. Pinky really knows his priorities. After watching season 3, I loved Pinky even more than I had before due to his expanded character. This admiration only grows larger day after day.
Conclusion (Why Pinky is my favorite Animaniacs character): Many fans of Animaniacs latch on to characters like Yakko, Wakko, Slappy, or The Brain. However, it's quite bizarre that I decided to latch onto a character that doesn't go through a major character arc (Brain) or has a huge cult-like fanbase (Wakko). But yeah, Pinky is my quintessential comfort character; he's always a riot and manages to make me feel better on my worse days which I've had in abundance. He is one of the reasons why I've been staying on the franchise for such a long time because I've wanted to see more of him. Pinky's continuous love and support for Brain is so charming to see. He has a beautiful singing voice, a wide variety of humor that appeals to both kids and adults, and he manages to be one of the nicest cartoon characters I've ever seen (except for in Pinky, Elmyra, and The Brain. What did they do to him? Why is he so rude to Brain for no reason?). Pinky will always be my favorite Animaniacs character, no matter what. The ways he's helped me through hard times is something that other cartoons can never do. Brain is another character that I appreciate on a more personal lever, but his companion will forever have my heart and my pick as best mouse.
Ok, that got just a little personal at times, but I hope you enjoyed! And if you think I'm joking about anything I've said here, I'm not kidding. Pinky truly means so much to me and has helped me when my emotions spiral out of control. Alright, that's the second entry to Pinky Week! Stay tuned for tomorrow's post where I detail the evolution of Pinky from 1993 to today, talking about his changes in personality, appearance, and voice! Have a wonderful day and/or evening! Narf!

6. What other fandoms are you in, apart from this one? 7. What drew you to writing your current character(s)? 16. What is your favorite band/music genre?
Munday Questions. Send in a number(s) to get to know the mun better!
6: I'm not very active in any fandom anymore... Like, I'm just not too interested in being a part of fandoms, at least on tumblr. But if you're just interested in the things I like... I'm always going back to Animaniacs, Bobs Burgers and Power Rangers.
7: So every Halloween I like to watch a series, so last year I decided to just watch all the Tree house of Horror episodes and I saw this one character, who was hardly in it and said "Yes, I want that one please." and then I took him and made him into this.
16: Oh shit, okay. Kate Bush. The very first cassette I ever owned was Kate Bush's Never for Ever, and my sister pulled the tape out, I was so mad but I recently bought it on record so that's cool of me. Also if you want a hot take, I don't think they should have used Running Up That Hill as Max's big song in Stranger Things, I have my reasons and I think I'm right.

I was randomly re-watching BONKERS this week. Coincidentally, that show turned 30 this year... Now that's *bonkers*!
For the uninitiated, it's a Disney TV Animation-made series that had the usual 65-episode run. It was a WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT-inspired show made at a time when Roger Rabbit's future was up in the air, and this series - inspired by ROGER RABBIT'S core premise of cartoon characters living in our world and being the actors of their animated pictures - just so happened to be in development. Seemed to be the perfect "that'll do" situation! Its production history, so complicated it scrambles my brain, but fascinatingly so, like any troubled production. The entire show, including an episode that was held from TV for years due to depictions of bombings (in the wake of the Oklahoma City bombing and 9/11), is available to view on Disney+.
The show itself is every bit as puzzling as its production history, no matter which batch of episodes it is or who animated on them. It feels like it's a weird outsider-artist's attempt at a wacky, spontaneous Tex Avery-inspired cartoon, but it frequently misses the rhythm even though it's earnestly trying with everything it has got... That is all juxtaposed with this very high-grade art direction and animation (for a 1993-era animated TV series, that is), particularly the episodes made at Disney TV Animation Japan. It's like I'm watching some badass '80s anime take on L.A., but with these silly-looking 'toons. A hell of a contrast! But the show's weird attempts at zany humor are all the more questionable because this is a DISNEY SHOW, you would think they could pull this off. I know it's popular opinion that Disney animation, all throughout history, was never "funny"... Though I beg to differ. Disney TVA, from my perspective, tended to be more "fun adventure" than wacky comedy. Not in the wheelhouse of, say, ANIMANIACS or REN & STIMPY. Bonkers D. Bobcat himself actually started appearing on one of Disney's attempts at a wacky show, RAW TOONAGE, a year earlier. There was also this show called THE SCHNOOKUMS & MEAT FUNNY CARTOON SHOW, which fits this bill, too. The respective executions of these shows apparently left a bit to be desired.
I first saw BONKERS when its re-runs aired on Toon Disney, a long-defunct channel, in the late '90s and early '00s. That was the way I, a 1992 baby, could see all of those early-era Disney TVA cartoons and many of the ones that were part of the legendary syndicated "Disney Afternoon" block. I saw almost all of 'em, from DUCKTALES to TALESPIN to TIMON & PUMBAA. That was a brief period of time though, when my grandmother had a cable package that included Toon Disney. Later on, she didn't, and neither did I at my house... So I went a good many years without seeing those shows again, the only one I had pieces of on VHS was NEW ADVENTURES OF WINNIE THE POOH.
I'll tell you what *weirdly* filled the void for me...
SONIC ADVENTURE.
Tumblr media
Yeah, you heard that right... SONIC ADVENTURE. And by that, I mean the original version released for the Sega Dreamcast in North America in 1999, which I got sometime in - I wanna say - spring 2000? Easter present, maybe?
Now, my grandmother still had Toon Disney when I had SONIC ADVENTURE... Because at the time, Toon Disney was airing... ADVENTURES OF SONIC THE HEDGEHOG! That's right, the DiC cartoon from 1993. The wacky one. I sometimes caught it in passing, but I really wanted to see it now that I was playing SONIC ADVENTURE religiously circa mid 2000... But it was never on when I was over there, I had only caught a commercial or two. I remember catching one during an airing of BONKERS, and it was like "The SONIC show... Whoooooaaa." My 7 1/2-year old brain on a high of some sorts, 'cuz that's just how my weird-ass autie brain works you get the gist?
Anyways, when I no longer could watch Toon Disney, I had SONIC ADVENTURE...
Here are the weird connections I made between SONIC ADVENTURE and Disney TV Animation's output circa 1987-1995:
Anthro animals, check. Goofy villain, check. Sonic's design channels Felix the Cat and early Mickey, very much Western "funny animal" in spirit. Coincidentally, FELIX THE CAT: THE MOVIE was airing on Disney Channel and Toon Disney around this time, I remember seeing commercials for it at the time... And remembered seeing scenes of him running around some palm trees, a jungle-like setting... and I thought it looked kinda Sonic-y and kinda cool. Moving on: Tails' bi-plane, the "Tornado". TALESPIN vibes. Has two tails, 'tis his nickname... What else, Station Square, a city with both humans and cartoon animals, reminding me of not only BONKERS, but also Duckberg. The "At Dawn" section of the "Speed Highway" level in particular had those vibes, for me... And then you have the Mystic Ruins, the spacious jungle hub world with the temple. Disney had a couple of "jungle" shows at the time, outside of the JUNGLE BOOK-inspired TALESPIN, you also had JUNGLE CUBS (basically MUPPET BABIES by way of JUNGLE BOOK), MARSUPILAMI (a very bizarre adaptation of the Franco-Belgian comic of the same name), and the aforementioned TIMON & PUMBAA spin-off.
So yeah, SONIC ADVENTURE and certain Disney TV Animation shows were kinda "linked" in my brain circa 2000-ish. It's a thing my brain does, it makes these weird connections or associations with disparate media. Like, I'll be hyperfixating on three or four separate things in a period of time (say, September-November 2005)... And because of that, they're all linked in my head. I'll think of one of those things, and I'll think of the three, if that makes sense.
In fall 2002, for my birthday, I received a DK book called DISNEY: THE ULTIMATE VISUAL GUIDE. It had a two-page spread dedicated to the DTVA stuff, and lo and behold, BONKERS was on there... and it all came back... And for whatever reason, I built up BONKERS in my head as this amazingly funny thing. It was even in the name, and at the time, I was developing a cartoony slapsticky idea of my own... Which totally morphed and mutated over two decades into the behemoth beast that it is now... Partially thanks to BONKERS, a show that's considered one of the worst of the Disney Afternoon and that whole era of DTVA... I simply had to see this show again, and all the other Disney TV Animation cartoons that weren't being shown on any other channel.
And I eventually caught a few of the Bonks on Toon Disney somewhere's else in mid-2003, and remember thinking "Yeah, it's as cool as I thought!" But then many, many moons later - with much more knowledge under my belt, a lot more context, a lot more animation history, etc. - I gave it a proper revisit. This was probably right around the time it came to Disney+, and after hearing other outlets either fairly criticize or outright trash the show. I mean, ANIMANIACS - probably fueled by Steven Spielberg's beef with Disney/Eisner at time, which affected ROGER RABBIT plans going forward - was roasting BONKERS. And what I saw was a show that was certainly a mess... I mean, when your plug is pulled halfway through production and your show is straight-up rebooted w/ an all-new supporting cast and main character redesign- it's a miracle the show even got made, finished, and was somewhat watchable. I have a soft spot for it, really. There's a kernel of a really cool, wacky, ROGER RABBIT-lite there... and under different circumstances, it could've really stuck the landing... But it meant a little something to me, and that's all that matters.

I kind of hate binge culture. In 7 days, all 10 episodes of season 3 of the Animaniacs reboot will be released all at once. Some people will watch them all on the first day. I, on the other hand, will go at my own pace, watching about one a day. I want to savor each one and make the season last, since there’s a good chance this will be the last new Animaniacs content ever. By doing this, I will completely miss out on participating in the early theorizing, screenshot posting, art, and writing that people do in response to season 3. By the time I’m done watching it, over a week after the release date, and I come out with my own thoughts and enthusiasm, it will already be old news to many people. If I had my way, I’d make it last even longer, restricting myself to watching an episode a week. I’m just not willing to separate myself from the fandom for that long.
I think this is why many streaming-exclusive shows fail to have a noticeable cultural impact. Everything is dropped all at once, and what follows is a brief frenzy of confused discussion as people pick out their favorite moments and talking points from all over the season, essentially trying to scream over each other the entire time. Then, within a week or two, most people who watched it lose interest and move on. Wouldn’t it be so much nicer if we could have one episode at a time, watch it at our own pace, and then come online to see all the reactions to that particular episode and only that episode? It would be so much easier to digest, so much easier to let sink into our minds. The series in question would stay relevant for much longer. Plus, the wait between seasons wouldn’t seem nearly as long. Imagine if you watched the Animaniacs season 2 finale on January 28th, 2022 instead of November 5th, 2021. Now the wait between seasons is a basically just a year, instead of 15 long months.
So yeah, it annoys me. It annoys me to be stuck between the two options of either having to rush through the last new Animaniacs content I’ll ever experience, or quarantine myself from the fandom for three months to avoid spoilers as I watch it slower. Either way, I’m missing out, and it sucks. There is something to be said for allowing consumers to chose what pace they watch their new shows, but for people actually invested in the fandom of these shows, it’s inconvenient. And let me also say I have absolutely no problem with binging old shows. My only issue is with the practice of dumping entire seasons of new shows onto streaming platforms all at once.

One of my favorite tests for if something in a show is meant to be Noticed™ is to watch the audio description version, cause the whole point of that is to describe what’s happening on screen as accurately and objectively as possible. It’s basically the statement “this is literally what happened” fully realized.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So anyway this look here was described as “grins fondly” and I literally can’t get over the fact that this was a Real Thing that happened with full intent behind it

Halloweenathon :Tiny Toons Night Ghoulery
This time lets dive into a 90's cartoon classic ,with Tiny Toons
Tumblr media
This 1994 Halloween special homages the Rod Serling show Night Gallery as it parodies the Tell Tale Heart ,Casper the Friendly Ghost ,Stephen Spielbergs Duel ,Devil and Daniel Webster ,the films of Abbott and Costello ,Night of the Living Dead,Frankenstein and thye Twilight Zone episode Nightmare on 20000 Feet
SOoooooo confession time.....I barely remember Tiny Toons.I know I saw re runs when I was very little and of the Spielberg shows possibly my favorite at that time .....But I have never come across it on either reruns, DVD or on streaming like I did say Animaniacs ,Pinky and the Brain or Freakazoid(Which is now my favorite of the Spielberg shows ),so my memory of it is very vague .However judging by this special,I should revisit it cause this was very funny
So I am gonna rank the segments from least favorite, but this is where I am gonna giv my biggest compliment....There are NINE segments....And I wanted more .Not all are great ,but I had mostly a fun time watching
Also keep in mind I am basically watching this blind, I havent seen the show in over 20 years so if I am missing a character name or in joke .....Sorry .The characters I know are Plucky , Hamton ,Buster,Babs ,Elmyra and Montana Max,but thats about it .I have decided not to do much research and do this as a blindwatch ,as if I was just stumbeling upon this on TV
9,"Sneezer the Sneezing Ghost, theres a sneezing mouse ghost vs a cat and it was kind of not funny
8.A Gremlin on a Wing is just ....dull .Its just a bunch of Star Trek jokes cause "LOL William Shatner was in the original Twilight Zone episode " was disappointed this was the last segment "
7."Frankenmyra and Dizzygor its an OK FRankenstein parody ,I just dont like Elmyra
6.Night of the Living Dull, now this is when we get to the funny ones I did get a laugh out of this but its a super short one
5."The Devil Dog on the Moors" I dont know if this is making fun of anything in particular ,other then just the superstitious folks in a tavern trope (Personally gave me American Werewolf in London vibes ),but there are some funny lines and the ending got a laugh out of me
4.Fuel : a parody of Stephen Spielbergs Duel ,this had the single funniest moment in the entire special for me ,mainly cause it is a brillaint parody of a specific scene from that film
3.Hold That Duck isnt even really a parody its a loving tribute to the comedy of Abbott and Costello ,with Buster as Bud and Plucky as Lou.It not the funniest but you can tell the creative team LOVES Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein cause gags are taken directly from it as is the line deliverys of John Kassir as Buster and Joe Alasky as Plucky
2.Daniel Webfoot is epspcially hilarious to me cause I recently watched Devil and Daniel Webster this year ,so Plucky's rambeling about America is so true to that story ,Montana Max is perfect as the guy who sold his soul ,and it got RON PERLMAN as Satan hard to top that
1.The Tell-Tale Vacuum a wonderful brillaint parody of Edgar Allan Poes Tell Tale Heart ,with great gags, funny lines and great vocal performances by Joe Alasky and Don Messik (Also did not intend for Plucky segments to take the top three spots but those segments were the best )
Also props to Tress McNails wonderful performance as Babs in the wraparounds, the perfect host ,and it really captures the feel of Night Gallery
OVerall very fun special

Animaniacs reboot season 3 spoilers:
New pictures!
Tumblr media
Ok so this can literally be anything. What happened?
Tumblr media
Pretty sure that’s not what Brain’s watching. Might be a different viewing of the Warners though - for a cameo. Or something related to the episode.
They’re bouncing around having fun acting. Like monkeys.
Tumblr media
S3E6 Dr. Warnerau? Aw look at them. Dot, work your magic. Yakko’s too tall he has to bend down.
Tumblr media
S3E6 Same episode cause of the background potions.
Boingy boingy boingy!
Tumblr media
S3E3 Miniature car segment.
What…what’s going on?
Tumblr media
S3E3? I don’t know an episode where they’re at the grocery store buuuut maybe they’re buying DIY things? So they’re singing? Or the one where they’re causing havoc around the lot and go into a grocery store?
They look like they’re having fun this season. I’m glad.

S3E4
Scratchy don’t make him sad.
Little garbage disposal~
Kinda want a Wakko/Scratchy moment like how they had episodes to themselves in the OG.
Continuing on,

Episode 7 Title card.
Ok so is this an au? Or is this Future Brain before he gets armor? Maybe this explains what happened…conspiracy…
So he’s married to Julia? Courting her? And Pinky is crashing it? Lol this should be good. This segment can go a multitude of ways.
Or is that current Brain?
Tumblr media
Trying to place this location. It might be from a previous episode.
That balloon…
