2022 Wissmann Predictions Review

I have not been able to find any confirmation or evidence of Rachel and Alan welcoming another baby. Rachel has been quiet on social media since July.

Ruth and Alan announced a pregnancy on 5th October and welcomed baby Chloe Ann on 12th December.

A photo from early December 2022 confirms there has been no new baby for Bethany and Daniel this year and no obvious pregnancy announcement.

No new Wissmann-Knuth baby in 2022.

Hannah did indeed marry Jer (26th March) close to Jed and Katey's anniversary (3rd April). She surprised me by welcoming baby Brynley Noelle on Christmas Day.

No engagement has been announced for Susanna but she seems to be in a relationship with a man named Drew.

Nate got married a little earlier than I predicted, in the summer, and married Katrina in October.

It was a fairly quiet year for Matthias and Michelle, Stephen, Elizabeth, Alaythia and Charissa.

Introducing The Wissmanns!

Sorry It Took So Long.�� Part 1 of 2.

Duggar Data has been tracking the Wissmanns’ Data for quite awhile, and they have officially been a Predictor Family since October 2021.  Despite this, I have failed to do a proper Introductory Post...  Until now!

Just ahead in Part 1...

Who are the Wissmanns?  Where are they from?  How many children do they have?  How many of their children are married or in relationships?  What can you tell me about their specific beliefs or quirks?

Tell Me About Mr. + Mrs. Wissmann.

Headed by Loren Albert + Gloria Ann (Hager) Wissmann, the Wissmann Family hails from Milford, Seward County, NE.  Loren owns Wissmann Enterprises—a contracting and roofing company, specializing in “roof coatings,” sandblasting and painting, and excavation at industrial sites and farms.  As of 2022, several of the Wissmann Sons—namely Matthias, Stephen, and Nathanael—work with Loren in the family business.

Loren + Gloria married on August 16, 1980, when he was 23, and she was 21.  (His DOB is May 15, 1957.  Hers is June 6, 1958.)  They went on to have a big family—13 Children (8 Daughters, 5 Sons), with no multiple births.

Gloria had her Final Child, Charissa, at Age 48.30, giving her 8 Daughters the Latest Fertility Cut–Off of any Predictor Family.

All of the 2nd Generation Wissmanns, except Charissa (#13), are adults.  (Her 18th Birthday isn’t until September 25, 2024.)  So far, 7 of 13 are married, and an 8th (Nathanael, #12) is in a relationship.  All of the married couples—except the newlyweds, Hannah (#9) + Jeremiah—are also parents.

What Church Do The Wissmanns Attend?

According to Free Jinger, the Wissmann Family was once affiliated with Millard Alliance Church (MAC) in Omaha, Nebraska.  The Wissmann Family Statement of Faith, posted on their website, strongly substantiates this; it’s identical to the MAC Statement of Faith.  Duggar Data also dug up this really old newsletter, in which Andrew Wissmann, then unmarried, is listed as a member of MAC.

However, it appears that the Wissmanns don’t attend MAC anymore.  (Unclear when they left.)  They are now members of East Fairview Mennonite Church, in Milford, Nebraska.  Loren, Matthias, and Stephen all seem to be pretty high up in the church—leading services and bible studies, etc.  Church bulletins dating back to February 2016 mention various other Wissmanns, as well.

Are The Wissmanns Quiverfull (QF)?

Yes, Loren + Gloria are absolutely quiverfull (QF).  Evidence of this is right on their family website, where Loren + Gloria say—

The Lord used Psalms 127 to open [our] hearts to welcoming children, and Proverbs 22:6 to the awesome responsibility of training the children He would send.

Psalm 127:3–5 is a dog whistle for the QF Movement...  It’s their favorite piece of scripture, and the verse that gives the movement its name.  It reads—

Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.  As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.  Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them....

The Wissmanns also reference Proverbs 22:6, which is another popular Bible verse among the fundamentalist evangelical crowd.  It’s the verse about how parents must “train up” their children.  (“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”)

So, yeah...  Whether they identify as such or not—and, they probably don’t—Loren + Gloria Wissmann embrace the QF Movement’s core tenets.  And, the 2nd Generation Wissmanns aren’t far behind...  Rachel frequently tags her IG Posts w/ “#raisingarrows,” for example, and Bethany has posted some pretty quiverfull–y quotes.  Also, Ruth recently expressed—“Every birth is a miracle.  Every baby a gift.”

Do They Homeschool?  Are They IBLP / ATI?  

The Wissmanns claim not to be part of IBLP / ATI—but, they do homeschool.  (See Also.)  (Unclear what curriculum they used.)  The 2nd Generation is also homeschooling; Rachel + Alan, Josiah + Abi, and Bethany + Dan are the only ones w/ school age aged children, and they all teach their children at home. 

Tell Me A Little More About Their Beliefs.

Modesty.  Clearly, it’s important to them, and they prefer that women to wear skirts.  They’re not strictly “skirts only,” though.  (Gloria doesn’t seem to wear pants, but all of her daughters—including those still living at home—do.)  One of the Wissmann In–Laws (Kori) wore a sleeveless wedding dress...  Gasp!

Gender Roles.  Unfortunately, they’re pretty heavy into gender essentialism...  Ruth promotes “healthy femininity” via IG, for example, and posts all sorts of ‘gender matters’ nonsense.  (See Also.)  Also, Bethany vowed in her wedding vows to “submit to” her husband.  There are some glimmers of hope, though—e.g., Susanna Wissmann was allowed to become a pilot.

Courtship.  As for relationships, the Wissmanns practice “courtship,” more or less, but don’t seem to call it that.  (Ruth referred to “dating” her husband, at one point.)  Some of the things they do are a bit courtship–y, though.  Rachel and Ruth got engaged within weeks of meeting their husbands, for example, and Rachel waited until engagement to say “I love you.”  They don’t seem to kiss until the altar, either.

Are They Friendly w/ Other Predictor Families?

Yes!  The Wissmanns are old friends of the Duggars, and are also friendly with fellow Midwestern fundies, the Bontragers (and Bowerses).

Angela Merkel bei „Anne Will“ - Arena der richtigen Gesinnung

Das „Deutschland, in dem wir gut und gerne leben“, jenes Land, in dem mit diesem Slogan Angela Merkel ihre Kanzlerschaft verteidigen konnte, es existiert tatsächlich. Es sieht aus wie ein ARD-Fernsehstudio. Einverständnis regiert dort und sanftes Geplauder und ergriffene Zustimmung. Hier zürnt man nicht, hier fühlt man sich verstanden. Hier ist der Hof der guten Denkungsart. Die Arena der richtigen Gesinnung. So taktgenau funkten gestern zwei Herzen im Dreivierteltakt vor gerührtem Publikum, dass das finale Strahlen, mit dem die Moderatorin die Phantasmagorie um 22.43 Uhr abschloss, für jedes Märchenbuch mit Königskind und Drache taugte: Am Ende des Regenbogens steht ein Goldtopf, Anne Will hat ihn gefunden, Angela Merkel sei Dank.

Deutschland als Fernsehstudio

Insgesamt 32 Mal schnitt die Regie auf das Studiopublikum, immer war es eine Augenweide. Da waren Gesichter zu sehen, auf die das gute Deutschland nur stolz sein kann: Schüler und Studentinnen, Paare, Rentner, der skeptische Kopf, das neugierige Kind, die stolze Frau. Allesamt waren sie hellwach, interessiert, nickten nur, schäumten nie, wussten zu gefallen und zu applaudieren. Auch sie waren komplett einverstanden mit dem, was sie sahen und hörten, und somit mit sich. Denn sie wollten, wie alle im Raum, Gutes hören, Beruhigendes, Schönes, und das bekamen sie auch. Kann man solche Menschen nicht für das ganze Land casten? Damit auch bei geöffneter Studiotür und ohne Studiolicht Deutschland immer wäre, was es gestern für eine Stunde war? Ein aufgeräumter Ort für nette Menschen, von denen niemand leiden muss.

Merkels „Erlebnisse“

Für die Kanzlerin muss die hübsche Stunde ein echtes „Erlebnis“ gewesen sein. Diesen Begriff verwandte sie gerne. Gemeint war eher ein Erleben, eine Erfahrung, doch Deutschland als Eventlocation mag mitgedacht sein. „Wir haben schon ganz erstaunliche Erlebnisse gehabt“, sagte sie und meinte die Trippelschritte hin zu einer gemeinsamen europäischen Verteidigungspolitik. „Es hilft nur das Erlebnis“, sagte sie auch und dachte an „die Menschen“ in ihrem „vielleicht schon angeschlagenen Vertrauen“ in den Rechtsstaat.

Ganz neue Erlebnisse wünscht sie dem eingangs ausführlich als bösen Drachen der Weltpolitik gebrandmarkten amerikanischen Präsidenten. Ihm galt manche ernste „Mitteilung“. Rund 37 von 58 Minuten waren der Außenpolitik gewidmet – jenem Feld, auf dem Merkel an Einfluss verloren, aber an Erklärungsfreude gewonnen hat. Halten wir fest: „Die Welt bewegt sich schnell“, „ich würde mir auch eine etwas geordnetere Welt wünschen“, „europäisches Recht hat immer Vorrang vor dem deutschen Recht“, „man muss das Richtige tun.“ Und richtig war und bleibe es, „Flüchtlinge aufzunehmen“. Wenn diese in großer Zahl gegen die Ablehnung ihrer Asylanträge klagen, zeige das nur, „dass der Weg der Rechtsstaatlichkeit in Deutschland breit genutzt wird.“

Worte einer Diva assoluta

Unordnung ist in Merkels Welt das Problem der anderen. Des Innenministers Horst Seehofer etwa, der mit seinem „Masterplan“ für eine neue Asylpolitik Schiffbruch erleiden werde, eben weil er nicht berücksichtige, dass europäisches Recht deutsches Recht breche; das gab Merkel durch ein sibyllinisches Lächeln zu verstehen. Oder das Problem der Italiener, die noch immer „kein Analogon“ hätten zur deutschen Arbeitsagentur. „Es gibt immer andere Auffassungen, aber ich habe die meinige“: So spricht eine Diva assoluta, deren Worte Wirklichkeiten setzen.

Den Finger nicht in die Wunde gelegt

Draußen steigt derweil der Druck im Kessel. Fünf Millionen Mal wurde bei Facebook die Aufforderung der AfD-Politikerin Alice Weidel angeschaut, Merkel möge mitsamt ihrem Kabinett zurücktreten. Bei „Anne Will“ hatten im vergangenen Jahr durchschnittlich 4,1 Millionen Menschen eingeschaltet. Der unangenehm geifernde Gestus kann nicht darüber hinwegtäuschen, dass Weidel den Finger in die richtige Wunde legt, wenn sie erklärt: „Nach Recht und Gesetz hätte Ali Bashar nicht nur niemals nach Deutschland einreisen dürfen, sondern das Land längst verlassen haben müssen.“ Ali Bashar hat gestanden, das 14-jährige jüdische Mädchen Susanna F. aus Mainz ermordet zu haben.

Noch beim G7-Gipfel am Freitag hatte sich Merkel zur bizarren Aussage hinreißen lassen, wenn ein abgelehnter irakischer Asylbewerber in Deutschland zum Mörder werde, sei ein solches „abscheuliches Vorkommnis“ eine „Aufforderung an uns alle, die Integration sehr ernst zu nehmen“. Abgelehnte Asylbewerber sollen sich integrieren, ehe sie abgeschoben werden? Offenbar hört die Kanzlerin sich nicht beim Reden zu. Zwölf Minuten vor Schluss fragte Anne Will nach dem Fall Susanna F. und dessen politischen Folgen. Merkel bot ihr als „die Lehre“ an: Gerichtsverfahren müssten beschleunigt, Ankerzentren errichtet werden. Anne Will, offenbar in Unkenntnis des Geständnisses von Ali Beshar, hatte damit genug erfahren. Kein Wort zur Flucht der achtköpfigen Familie mit falschen Papieren und Geld vom deutschen Staat in jenen Irak, aus dem sie angeblich geflohen war. Kein Wort zur fehlenden Möglichkeit der Bundespolizei, Tickets und Ausweise am Flughafen abzugleichen.

Die Audienz taugt nicht als Format

Zum Skandal beim Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge war da schon aus Merkels und Wills Sicht alles, also fast nichts gesagt. Das Wort vom Untersuchungsausschuss – 64 Prozent der Bevölkerung fordern ihn – kam der Moderatorin nicht über die Lippen. Warum eigentlich? Stattdessen lobte Merkel auf kontrafaktischen Pfaden ihre Entscheidung, Frank-Jürgen Weise mit der Leitung des BamF betraut zu haben. Dumm nur, dass am Tag des Interviews die Bild am Sonntag enthüllt hatte, dass Weises „Sicherheitsbedenken“ vom damaligen Innenminister de Maiziére und dem damaligen Kanzleramtsminister Altmaier mehrfach in den Wind geschlagen worden waren. Um es flapsig auszudrücken: Merkel ging bewusst ins Risiko. Der „massenhafte Zustrom von Migranten“ (Stephan Mayer, CSU) wurde von ihr nicht als Herausforderung für die innere Sicherheit gesehen, sondern als Verwaltungsakt mit humanitärem Imperativ. Allzu viel hat sich daran nicht geändert, trotz Susanna, trotz Mia, trotz Maria und trotz Harsewinkel.

Zu den vielen Formaten, die sich im Fernsehen überlebt haben, gehört die Audienz der Kanzlerin bei einer ihr genehmen Journalistin. Angesichts einer im Facebook-Zeitalter ohnehin schwindenden Relevanz sollten sich die Sender die Courage zurückerobern, Selbsteinladungen mit eingebautem Bedingungsbündel abzulehnen. Und stattdessen andere Moderatoren und andere Formate durchzusetzen. Mit einem echten Widerpart wäre viel gewonnen. Ein Duell Weidel gegen Merkel wäre ebenso einen Versuch wert wie eine profund kontrastive Gesprächsführung. Nachhaken, Widersprechen, Unterbrechen sind keine Offizialdelikte. Die Anwesenheit von Publikum erhöht nicht die Erkenntnis, zumal wenn es sich als homogene Applauskulisse präsentiert. Jede Matrix hat ihre Löcher. Man muss sie freilich suchen wollen.

Have 2 funding women named their daughters after themselves now? Adeline and Brynleigh? How weird. That is like an old generation thing in the UK. It doesn't happen now really, maybe a boys name passed down but it's not common like it was back in the day.

Yes, although technicaly Brynleigh's mother is called just Bryn and not with the leigh behind it.

I have been searching and found another woman who did so, Rebecca Marie Bontrager, the matriarch of the Bontrager family has named her youngest daughter Rebecca Shania Bontrager. I believe senior goes as Becky and junior as Becca.

A lot of woman do share their middle name with one of their daughters, most of them the eldest daughter. That are Anna Duggar, Jinger Vuolo, Kendra Duggar, Lauren Duggar, Erin Paine, Alyssa Webster, Whitney Bates, Tori Smith, Esther Bates, Bethany Beasley, Gloria Wissmann (kind off, Ann-Anna), Jill Rodrigues, Allison Helferich, Carolina Bontrager, Esther Shrader and Priscilla Waller.

Others did something else with their name. Michelle Duggar named her second daughter Jill Michelle. Abbie Duggar gave her daughter her middle name as first name. Joy Forsyth gave her still born daughter her nickname and kind off middle name: Joy-Anna Forsyth, Annabell Elise Forsyth. Kelly Jo Bates gave her 10th child her name but switched and with some changes: Josie Kellyn. Michelle Wissmann gave her daughter her first name as middle name: Adalynn Michelle. Melanie Sue Maxwell gave her daughter who died after just three days the name Susannah. Esther Shrader gave her first name as a middle name to her firstborn daughter.

It was interesting looking into this. In the Netherlands, where I live, people most of the time don't get named after a family member anymore. I was pretty common to do so years ago. I, myself got named after both my grandfather as grandmother. My sister got named after my other grandmother. My mother got her name from an aunt. My father was named after both his grandfather and grandmother.
