This is literally the sweetest compliment oh my gods... im genuinely so flattered that you've been marathon reading my stuff!!! its always such a pleasant shock to hear that people enjoy it, but liking it enough to binge read a bunch of my other works?? i am on the floor this is literally so nice

I wanna preface this by saying none of my dsmp works are abandoned!!! I almost never fully abandon fics-- i think the only one that i've ever chosen to abandon was my voltron fic, and that was for specific fandom experience reasons. Right now, all of my dsmp fics are just kinda on hold until i can get the motivation up to eventually finish them, but i know exactly where i want to go with each one.

So with that being said, you will be delighted to know that when the night cries is actually fully finished. The fic is written, i have all five chapters done. The only thing holding me back iiiiiis... the fact that the unpublished chapters are only rough draft. I freely admit i am very insecure about my rough draft writing, especially compared to what i post on ao3. It's been an incredibly huge leap for me to even post my rough draft work on here with minimal edits-- i havent gotten near to the point yet where i feel confident posting them to ao3, which is kind of a shame considering a heart choked full with wanting, my first ever work for dsmp, is a 14k wip that has never seen the light of day 😭😭😭😭

My final drafting process is intensive. I've made a few posts about this before, but i rewrite my rough drafts entirely from the ground up, using a very strict personal style guide i've developed over the years, and while it produces quality i can be proud of, it does,,, take a while 😅😅😅 a really long while. This is why the 7k scarian fic i finished months ago hasnt been posted yet lmao

So!! Rest assured i am actually picking at wtnc chapter 3 here and there!!! It's completed, i just need to rewrite it, but unfortunately my wilbur chapters are always my goddamn problem children when it comes to editing 😭😭 akdneks sorry this got so lengthy anon, but i really wanted to reassure you that wtnc isn't abandoned. I would like to know your opinion about this, if you had never watched/listened to the first season, would you have enjoyed the first two episodes of Vox Machina?

(Spoiler about this question regarding first two episodes: I personally hated the first two episodes because it did nothing to fully explore the characters as an impartial audience member. I stuck with it and I’m really enjoying the show now that we can spend time with the characters, but personally it was just such a weird heel turn from “here is a town we spent 3 minutes in that we care nothing about, to let’s kill a dragon cause it killed this town despite the fact it kicked our ass half and hour ago and nothing has changed for us as characters. We are not gonna train and get stronger, we are just gonna find it and kill it)

Although I gotta admit that the answer is gonna be - I don't know.

Because there is no way to go back and UNwatch VM, and erase it from my mind and start over fresh with the animated series.

I am sure you're not looking for me to convince you, so I won't, but for me personally it felt reasonable. And don't get me wrong "here's a town we don't care about" was... very much... the whole point of the episode. I daresay it was the whole plot of it - they DON'T care. They're looking for gold and that's it.

And the heel turn was, at least in part, shown and foreshadowed by Vax being kind to the two kids in the beginning, before they left. And by Vex and Vax's past with dragons. And by Pike, trying to do the right thing when everyone else didn't care.

Like, yes, it's a heel turn. But seeing the dead bodies of people you spoke to less than 24 hours ago, including kids, and not being able to HELP those people at that moment - when they failed to heal the child - that's... a pretty significant punch to the gut? At least for the two people who also lost their home to a dragon.

I agree it was clunky, but it wasn't any less clunky than most run of the mill anime where the characters are heroes just because they can be? Or maybe my standards are just REALLY low haha.

hmmmm, well, i'd say mostly it was because of how they were on wgm. they just had an incredibly sweet and cute relationship.

they used to have a lot of skinship, which just wasn't seen that much among idols of opposite genders in a casual way, y'know? (though, not really for key. he's commonly quite close and cuddly with his female friends, and always has been)

also, they were on other variety shows together, together when key was an mc on mcountdown and during promotions.

they used to admit to texting and hanging out a lot, and, calling each other their ideal type. also key was spotted wearing a hat that eunji gave him, ect ect. it all added to the ship.

it was clearly in a jokey way, and was taken as such by most, but a few people saw something a bit more, and tbh, i can see why. not many idols were this overt in their affection for each other.

This is still one of my favorite con moments, and it happened so fast. It’s kind of silly and tender and sweet, and Misha’s little “oH :)” when he finds out what’s in the box... aw. Watching that video still makes me smile!

(x) Perhaps the most infamous Cockles convention moment. This bit goes on for far too long and it’s hilarious to watch and they’re teasing each other the whole way through and honestly? They only do this because they want to. They have fun the whole time and you can tell. I love watching this video back and seeing what good FRIENDS Misha and Jensen are, first and foremost.

Family day out and the Teen Choice Award (2015)

In 2015, Jensen and Misha were nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Chemistry, which they actually ended up winning. Instead of attending the TCAs that year though, the two of them got their families together and had a big day out together.

They got ice cream and played frisbee outside:

They both tweeted about the picture, they both told versions of this story (Jensen, Misha), and it seems like they just generally had a good time together. Look how close they’re sitting and look how happy they are here. To have a day like this end with a literal award for good chemistry is... man, I don’t even know what to say about this. This is the most tender of tender and they really are bonded for life.

Rumored: Misha’s spa birthday (2015)

Shortly after the whole Teen Choice Award debacle, there was a rumor going around that for Misha’s birthday in 2015 he and Jensen went to a spa together (x, x, x). An employee seemed to confirm this, but it’s still incredibly unsourced and definitely should not be taken as fact. 

Still... I want to believe it happened, because I live in a fantasy world and also I love the idea of Jensen taking Misha to get pampered together. He already dresses him, so he might as well care for him in this other way too, right? Hopefully imagining this encounter will bring a warm feeling to your heart and a smile to your face.

HousCon (2015): Jensen’s the horse

There is literally nothing funnier to me than this unfortunate (Freudian) slip of the tongue. “Iiiiii regret having answered this qUESTION!” 

Watching Misha realize what he’s said and try to pivot away from the fallout makes me giggle like a maniac every time, and I hope it makes you laugh too.

HousCon (2016): Valentine’s Day

(x) Misha’s sweet little, “Aw, thank you” as Jensen hands him a handmade glittery Valentine’s Day card like they’re back in kindergarten really is just too much for me to handle sometimes. Like, I know this was a joke and that Misha didn’t actually keep the card and that they all probably knew Misha was filming, but Jensen played along all the same. It’s very cute. 

Jensen is a big softie and it does something to my feelings to see that side of him come out when it so rarely does -- it seems to be more frequent around Misha than anyone else in the cast :’)

JIB8 (2017): underbear

(x) Jensen and Misha flashed their underwear to one another onstage. Jensen FULLY unbuckled his belt and pulled down his pants. That actually? Happened? Jensen was a chaotic mess for this entire panel honestly and watching him tease Misha while he’s trying to get a handle on it is just really funny to me. During this panel they also told an emotional story about meeting crisis center volunteers, and Jensen supports Misha so well during that more more vulnerable, serious moment. 

HonCon (2017): dinner date story

(x) I mean, what can I even say about this one. The love plain on each of their faces as Jensen recounts this story... I am an absolute sucker for it. At the core of their friendship is silliness, banter, a willingness to try new things, and above all: love. Doesn’t watching them relive that moment together onstage make you feel happy? It certainly gets to me.

You Are Not Alone campaign (various)

(x) This is what I think makes me the happiest of all with regards to Jensen and Misha’s relationship. Yes, we got an incredible amount of cute content from the promotional livestreams Misha and Jensen did together (x, x, x), but #YANA isn’t really about that. It was and is about two people coming together to provide help to those in need, to forge real connections through each other to people that support them and brought them together in the first place. They made a real change in the world alongside one another, and even managed to have some fun along the way. 

It warms my heart to think of how this initiative started, how far their friendship has come, and what ultimately lies ahead for these two. Because after all, they aren’t ever alone. And neither are you <3

Question- how do you feel about clipping dog’s ears, I’m not sure how to feel about, all I know is it causes pain. Especially when the cut their tail off. -Siren Anon

iiiiii am only half-informed when it comes to this kinda stuff, so ill just say “if its NOT needed, DONT DO IT” I've heard in certain breeds, not clipping their ears can lead to an ear infection but i dont know how true that is, so if that's false just let their ears be ears...unless their working dogs, i know certain types of working dogs need their ears clipped to prevent them from getting bit or something but again, i am not informed in this type of thing. same with tails, I've heard sometimes its needed for whatever reason but again, I dont know everything about clipping ears and docking tails, but if they aren't a necessity to your dogs survival and comfort, leave the dang things alone.

It was about 8 pm, and Chanyeol was sitting in the sofa in the dorm’s living room, reading the same book for the hundredth time. He had a soft smile on his lips, and his eyes was getting wider from time to time, or suddenly teary, or shiny…

“Hey Chanyeol, what are you read- Wait aren’t you reading the same book you’ve just red yesterday??” asked Sehun, sighing. Chanyeol looked up at him, feeling guilty.

“… Don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Well I know reading isn’t bad for your health but like… How can you read the same book every day??”

“But it’s so good! The author is so talented, I’m such a fan…”

“Well this author has more than one book, right?”

“Actually, she doesn’t…”

“So, it’s a woman?”

“YES! Her name is Y/N and she- … I’m sorry I don’t want to bother you.”

Sehun sighed again and sat next to him. He softly punched his arms with a smile and looked at him.

“You’re not. I’m not bothered. It’s cool to see you being happy like that. But aren’t you becoming obsessed or anything?”

“No, I’m not! You don’t have to worry or anything I’m fine. I’m just… In love with the way she writes stories.” Chanyeol looked at his friends, wondering if what he just said was weird or not. But Sehun was staring at him, looking extremely concentrated and focused. “The way she explains her characters’ feelings, the emotions, but also sceneries’ description… I feel like everything is perfect.”

“Did she have a prize for her book, or anything?”

“She did! She won something, last month! I was so proud for her…”

“You should tell her!”

“Wait- what?”

“You should send her a message!”

“I can’t do that! That’s not appropriate…”

“… Come one man, you’re Park Chanyeol, you’re a member of one of the most popular group in the country, you’re not just a student or anything! Send her a text!”

Chanyeol stood up, trying to hide his red cheeks behind his book. Sehun was looking at his best friend, feeling jaded.

”But you’re funny.”

“Why?”

“You’re so ridiculous, dude. Usually, you’re not like that with girls! And you’re not doing that to flirt with her. …am I right?”

Chanyeol looked at Sehun and then his feet, clearing his throat and hiding his red cheeks. Sehun covered his mouth with his hand.

“You wanna date her?”

“What? Are you crazy? She doesn’t even know my name!”

“Actually, I think she does. You know, you are…”

“An idol, yes I know. What if she… she doesn’t like EXO?”

“Everyone loves us, don’t be stupid.”

“Please.”

“Sorry.”

“What if she… she doesn’t like me then?”

“Well the only way to know is to send her a message, Chan.”

Sehun pointed Chanyeol’s mobile phone with his finger, and looked at his friend picking it up, in silence. Chanyeol sighed and was about to turn on his phone.

“Alright, kids! Lunch’s ready!” shouted Junmyeon in the kitchen. “I need help to set the table, now!”

“We’re coming!” said Chanyeol and Sehun together.

“Guess we have to talk about that later.” Whispered Sehun, smiling to his older friend. “I’m not forgetting anything you’ve just said, understood?”

“Stop it…”

After dinner, Chanyeol went to his room to start reading again. Between each chapter, he was updating his Instagram with a picture of his favorite quote in the chapter he just red, feeling like he was in the most amazing mood in the entire world, and that sharing it to his followers was like a duty, a mission for him.

At the same time, Sehun was checking his older friend’s Instagram in his own bed, thinking of many things.

“Guess I have to act fast.” He said to himself.

One week later, the members were on the dorms, all chilling in the living room, playing video games together. It was Chanyeol’s birthday soon but nothing was planned yet. Chanyeol said he just wanted some chill time with his friends at the dorm; but Sehun had a little idea of how to spend the day…

“Hey guys” Sehun said, entering the living room. “What about a little dinner outside, tomorrow evening?” The younger boy was looking at his friend with an intense look, discretely winking at them and avoiding Chanyeol’s look.

“Oh, sounds like a wonderful idea~” replied Jondgae.

“What do you think, Chanyeol? Asked Jongin, trying to hide his smile.

“Where do you want to go?”

“I have my little idea. Let’s say it’s a birthday surprise.”

“But Sehun, if you’re telling me this, it’s not a surprise anymore…”

Sehun sighted and pat his friend’s head, with a smile. 

“Don’t worry, buddy. You gonna LOVE it.”

“Okay…?” 

Confused, Chanyeol looked back at the TV, trying to focus on the fight he was having with Baekhyun on the video game. At the same moment, Kyungsoo was discretely getting closer to Sehun and whispered to him.

“Is everything ready?”

“Yup. Just as planned…” He replied with a wink.

“Amazing…”

The two men were looking at Chanyeol with a weird smile on their faces, arms crossed, standing right behind him.

“…you guys look creepy, staring at us like that.” Yixing said.

“What?”

The next day, Chanyeol spent hours replying to texts or calls from friends and family, all wishing him an amazing birthday. The tall man was actually in a very good mood and didn’t stop smiling the entire day.

It was now around 8pm, and the group was getting ready to go out.

“Okay kids, are you ready?” asked Junmyeon.

“Coming!”

After a moment, they were all in the van, Junmyeon driving them to a cozy restaurant in Seoul. Chanyeol was happy, but a little worried and confused.

“Hum… Guys?”

“Yep?” replied Sehun.

“Isn’t this restaurant a little too small. I mean we are nine, you know? And I don’t think they have one table for nine people.”

“Don’t worry about that buddy, and let’s go.”

They entered the small restaurant, and the waiter led the boys to a little room at the back. Chanyeol pushed the door and discovered a huge table, and a woman, seated at the very end of the table. Chanyeol considered her for a moment, confused and looked back at his friends.

“Hum… There’s… A woman, here.” He whispered, discretely pointing the girl with his finger. Jongdae laughed a little, and made him look back at the girl.

She gave Chanyeol a look and walked to him. Suddenly, Chanyeol made a little surprised noise and put his hand on his mouth, shocked.

“Are you…”

“Hello…”

“Happy birthday, Chanyeol!” said the members behind him.

“Oh my god… Yeah it’s you! You’re Y/N! My famous author!” Chanyeol smiling like a kid and took the author’s hands to shake them gently. “I’m- well hum… Wait, what are you doing here?”

“Your friends invited me here.” She said, smiling softly.

“What…?” Chanyeol turned over and looked at his friends, confused. “You mean… You did that?”

“Well you wanted to meet your idol, right? Guess what? You’re her idol too! It was easier than we thought!”

The tall man turned on himself once again and looked at the small girl in front of him. She was looking at her feet, trying to hide her red cheeks behind her hair.

“Is this real?” he asked to her, smiling and blushing like a high school girl. “Am I your idol?”

“Hmm yeah… I’ve always wanted to meet you. I love your songs!”

“T-thank you! I love your book! And your writing! And the way you describe everything! And your characters!”

Behind them, the other boys, smiling, were finally taking a seat and enjoying the view. Chanyeol and the young author sat next to each other and talked together the entire dinner about everything and anything, as if they were old friends. 

“Looks like they’re getting along quite well.” Said Junmyeon with a soft smile on his face.

“Indeed. They’re kinda cute, I’m not gonna lie.”

“Wow if Kyungsoo says that, it might be true!”

“Shut up maknae.”

“Soo’s right.” Added Yixing. “But… What if he invites her at the dorm after dinner?”

“Oh my god, gross.”

“Nope he’ll go to HER place, not the opposite.”

“Oh, thank god, Jun. She can’t be at the dorm tonight; my room is a mess.”

“You know Baekhyun, she probably won’t go in YOUR room if she goes to our place.”

“Right…”

At the opposite of the huge table, Chanyeol was still talking with the author. He was looking at her as if she was one of the Seven Wonders of the world, and was so interested about everything she was saying.

“So, tell me” she asked him with a cute smile. “Who’s your favorite character, in my book? I’m curious.”

Chanyeol took his glass of wine and drank a little, thinking carefully.

“Hmm… I would say the hero.”

“Really?”

“Yeah. I like how you described it. And his past is so interesting. And his personality… To be honest, when I was reading I was like “oh my god I can relate so much, this guy is so like me bla-bla-bla”. And he’s so cool, I have to say it.”

“Hm funny.”

“What? Why?” Chanyeol smiled to her.

“Actually…” she started blushing a little. “You were my inspiration for the main character.”

“…oh.” Chanyeol looked away, a little embarrassed. “T-Thank you, I guess? I’m flattered.”

“Well thank you; thanks to you, I was able to write the best story of my entire life.”

“Does it mean you have other stories?”

“A lot, to be honest.” She looked at him in silence, and almost whispered to him. “Would you like to read one of my stories, one day?”

“I’d love to. I’d be an honor, for me.” He smiled and gently took her hand under the table. “If you want, he can go and have some coffee together in town next week or something… To discuss about this. What do you think?” he winked and giggled, and she smiled back, blushing.

“I’d love to. I’d be an honor, for me.” She giggled as well, looking at him with the softest gaze.

“Are you… Making fun of me right now?” Chanyeol laughed and gently popped her nose.

“No, I don’t do that, I’m mature~”

“Oh well I see that!”

Sehun was looking at the two love birds flirting with a disgusted look on his face. Jongdae laughed a little and gently punch his arm.

“…what?”

“Sehun are you jealous?”

“What? No, not at all.”

“Why are you looking at them with this look, then.”

“They are gross. Look at them. They’re all pink and lovely and cute and…ew. Disgusting.”

SPEED

i... i’m slow. i’m really slow, guys. i’ll go between having bursts of motivation and energy to wandering off for a couple weeks at a time, in terms of replies. i prioritize my rl commitments and sometimes that’s where all my energy goes. sometimes executive dysfunction is a binch. overall, i just plain don’t always have it in me to be consistent in replies. patience is necessary for threading with a mala, pls and thank

REPLIES

i vastly prefer para and multi-para to one-liners and banter. the main reason for this is for my own reference — i have a bad memory, and couple that with my long times between replies, and i don’t wanna forget anything. so i write a lot in exposition, and in physical details, and in thoughts. especially in thoughts; elle is very reactive, even to her own thoughts, and i need to be able to track what associations she’s making

that said, when it comes to replies i’m receiving, i don’t care at all about my length being matched — because, again, all them words is for my sake more than anything else. what matters to me is whether or not there’s enough for me to respond to. as long as there’s a hook to build off, i don’t mind receiving shorter replies

STARTERS

i tend to like plotting things out at least a little. we don’t need to have a whole plotline set up or anything, but i always feel the most comfortable if we get some kind of groundwork laid out. that groundwork can be anything from figuring out what our characters know about each other before meeting, or if we’re skipping the first meeting, then how that went and where their relationship stands at the time of the thread. as a result, random starters without any kind of warning kind of throw me off — plotting is very important to me

i keep my submissions closed except for short (announced) periods of time less out of an unfriendly-ness and more because it seems like submissions tend to get abused by shitty people, and i don’t want any unwelcome surprises sent to my doorstep. that said, my ask box is always open, and anon is available

i’m not one for magic anons or any other type of crack-based rp unless it’s with people i know well, unfortunately — partly because magic anons tend to have a time factor to them and, again, i’m slow and inconsistent, and mostly because i just struggle with applying rule of funny over all else (such as setting and character), and that’s what magic anons and crack rp leans towards

SELECTIVITY

iiiiii am picky. since i’m slow, i need to be selective where i’m going to be putting my energy. something that’s important to me is how much information is available on someone’s blog — i need to be able to get a strong feel for someone’s character before i follow. a simple list of traits and physical information doesn’t really do it for me, because in the end, that doesn’t tell me much about the character’s beliefs, what drives them, or the kinds of things i can set up interactions for

something else that’s important to me is if i can tell how much effort someone has put into their blog — i don’t necessarily mean layout and graphics, because i don’t mind minimalistic layouts. i mean in terms of character building and information. i get that it takes a lot to set up in-depth pages, but... gestures at my own, dmkgjd. but, it gives me the impression that the person who set up the blog is invested in their character and are going to be willing to put effort into other areas, too

i am very bad at keeping a wishlist tag going, partly because i take things as they come wrt plotting and partly because... that’s just a weak spot of mine

but overall, i really want to build up meaningful interactions between characters. i love love love over-arching plots that we can dip in and out of, and have multiple threads going at different points in time. but i also love taking things one step at a time sometimes, seeing how things influence each other further down the line

also, ngl, i’m a huge sucker for poly ships, and have never played in a poly ship where one of us didn’t play two of the characters involved. so uh, if i can ever wrangle a couple people into joining me for one of those, /fingerguns

i mean, i’m pretty easy to please. i can be skittish at times, usually because of X anxiety-related thing or Y bad experience-related other thing, but my main goals are to have an outlet for one of my primary characters and to write fun interactions with people. i love making friends with my mutuals, and that can help me relax about things a lot. even when i’m not staying on top of replies, i try to remember to touch base and post something on occasion to make sure people know i’m still around, just not actively rping

i’m here to have a good time and i want you to have a good time, too. and boundaries are important for that, and i try to maintain those where they matter most

On the sword and apple problem: I think the thing is that, as it most directly relates to the focus on preventing the apocalypse, the apple was good because it’s allowed Adam to be able to recognize and choose the good thing (not causing the apocalypse), and the sword was bad because it’s given war her weapon/humanity the weapons of war that are being used to cause the apocalypse (the bad thing). (1/2) (sorry for anon, I abandoned my old tumblr account)

(sword and apple 2/2) When you look at those two things in different contexts you’ll get some mixed results because the sword also lets humans protect themselves and the apple means that when humans choose to do bad things it’s more horrifying, since they’re choosing to do it even though they can recognize that it’s bad. But just in direct relation to the apocalypse, the sword has more of a role in allowing it to happen and the apple has more of a role in allowing it to be stopped.

iiiiii suppose? I never interpreted it as relevant to the eventual armageddon, bc in that sense the apple thing was bad bc humans staying in the garden = no opportunity for armageddon. the apple wasn’t what made adam change his mind, it was being raised purely human; which I guess could be an effect of applegate, but that loops back around to Why Punish Us For A Good Thing and it just doesn’t have a leg to stand on. 

I guess what’s missing is Where Did The Sword Go in between azi giving it away and war getting ahold of it. if we had some idea of what effect the sword had beyond the very immediate fire and protection it gave original flavor adam and eve, then we could better judge whether it was a bad thing in the long run. and, really, it’s pretty clear to me that the sword was never an instigator in armageddon any more than the scales or the crown were, they’re just symbols, the means by which a call to arms went out, if they weren’t there something else would have been; the form it takes is immaterial.
