some days i wake up and feel like, how did i get here?

does anyone feel this way?

personally, i had a traumatic time throughout my early 20s with the loss of a close relative and then a shocking childhood relationship that turned super sour. i was so traumatised by these things in my life that i have blacked a big part out of my 20s and am perplexed at how i am now at the other 10 year end of that time.

i’m thinking that i need to speak to my therapist about this as i feel like i struggle to put names to faces now, and some of my short-term memory is shot.

i used to remember names, birthdays, fine details of events.

now i look back at things and just don’t remember.

people who have met me on a few occasions have to remind me that i have infact already met them, and feel almost crazy that i don’t remember like, am i in a simulation or something? (this is a joke)

i have an intense fear of death, and time passing me by but the conundrum is that time is indeed passing me by because im forgetful and too stressed to live wholely in the moment although i do try.

our time on this earth is fleeting and what have i done to add something positive to this earth?

i just feel like a bit of a bloody failure sometimes.

You know, someone who always care for them, love them, be the "safe place" for the boys after a rough hunt, who have seen them grow up, and when Mary appears they choose her above Mary. it is 7:45 and im having doubts about changing majors and its really stressful

picking your major is so stressful, god.  i don’t know what you’re planning to major in, if it’s something like nursing or education or social work that will have a very specific job associated with it, but a lot of majors are pretty flexible and it’s not the end all and be all of your career.  is there a career center where you could go to talk to someone about the decision?  or friends you trust who could tell you what they think you’d be best suited for?  my advice would be to do whatever you feel the most passion for.  which would you be most devastated over not being able to pursue?  i bounced around so many ideas of what i wanted to do – zoology, psychology, english – and i eventually declared as an education major, but my first thought was “man, i won’t be able to take any more sociology classes…” and literally the next day i changed my major to sociology.  sometimes it can take a long time to figure out the right path, and if you have to try out a few things first then that’s what you’ll do.

What is your favorite airplane and why?

Favorite airplane ... ooohhh, that’s tough. I’m a fan of the Wright Flyer (below), simply because it was “first” ... it’s got some pretty cool ingenuity as well, with how they did control surfaces by warping the wings and whatnot.

I’m also a big fan of the YF-23 (above), which was an experimental that never got produced; it was the other finalist in the selection that generated the F-22 next-gen air superiority fighter. I think it wound up not as capable (or maybe it was similar, except for the fact that the F-22 can “super-cruise” ... or travel extended distances at greater than Mach 1, something not many - maybe none? - other aircraft can really do) as the plane that would become the F-22, but damn is it gorgeous.

Beyond that? There’s plenty to like about a lot of other planes ... my Grandad flew F-7Fs in Korea, they’re pretty special for that reason, but they were also one of the first really dedicated night-fighters (along with the P-61, which was the first *designed* for that role). The British Spitfire was one of the first mass-produced planes to really try an elliptical wing, which maximizes efficiency for a wing of defined span; as a result they look super elegant. The B-25 was the plane Doolittle used to make the first raid on Tokyo in WWII, they flew those things off of carriers, if you can believe that ... pretty amazing story in its own right. The Piagio Avanti is just wild. The F-5 is a baller little jet, and served as the stand-in for the “Mig-28s” in Top Gun.
