a thought blob about maws ep 6
i think like. the latest superman ep. i'm glad it ended up becoming clear to jimmy and lois that clark wasn't hiding it bc he didn't trust them specifically but bc he was just scared especially since he hadn't told anyone anything like that ever before, and that they made it clear that they accepted him for who he is and ended up pretty understanding about the whole thing despite being mad at first, like idk it feels like a pretty cool queer analogy imo especially when it's put side by side with the literal queer relationship facing the same fears of being ostracized...
... but i still really feel like the whole lois trust issues thing hasn't been resolved. i think it will be in future episodes considering not only is their relationship the backbone of the whole series, but also the general is probably her goddamn dad, who's also the same guy who gave her the issues in question. but i think her arc of realizing that constantly demanding answers from everyone around her and putting herself and others in dangerous situations to satisfy both her fear of being out of the loop and also her need to pursue her own ambitions is not very good, is definitely not quite done yet?
and people are probably gonna use that as an excuse to be dicks and complain about her character being poorly written or whatever, but this definitely seems to be something she's been set up for from the very beginning, and just bc she's still not quite getting it (she was mad that jimmy didn't tell her for crying out loud!!! it's not even his secret to tell!!!) doesn't necessarily mean she won't. she clearly has unresolved problems that can't just be magicked away in this one episode, the trust issues run deep, i mean come on she was scared that he was faking having feelings for her bc of this shit. she was probably scared the whole clark thing was just a facade, which isn't entirely unreasonable, i mean hey in some iterations it IS a facade, but like she clearly has had some pretty bad experiences with having secrets kept from her that would make her spiral off into thinking like this...
anyway point is it's not out of character or bad writing for her to behave like this, it makes sense entirely considering how she's behaved all season and the past parts of herself that she has shared. saying her character was ruined by this stuff just doesn't make any sense to me bc like. she's literally been like this from the start! obsessing over finding answers! only it turns out it's not just bc she wants to get recognition but also bc she's so used to being left out of the loop that now she's become desperate to be in the loop as much as possible! a character doing shitty things due to unresolved emotional issues isn't bad writing y'all and it also doesn't make her the goddamn antichrist. this is a kid's show. chill out

Today is again Dangerous Romance day and we got the infamous 11th episode. I was ready to suffer for the whole episode but I'm happy it wasn't exactly the case.
At the beginning of the episode Kang is still angry about what happened to his dad and he still thinks it's better to not hang around Sailom even though he saved him at the end of the previous episode. He pretends it would be the last time he helped him but we saw that every time Sailom is in danger, Kang is never too far away to save him. Sailom was trying to carry on all by himself. He even quit school because he thought Kang wasn't feeling comfortable seeing him around. The stares, the angst... I felt so sad for them. I really like these two silly idiots who love each other and care for one another so much. I'm glad they could reconcile after Kang saved Sailom a second time from being shot. The hug in the shower and how Kang was reassuring Sailom was my favorite part. These two are just so cute. I haven't even talked about the time when they were ready to take a bullet for one another. They are just teens but they fell in love so hard they were ready to die to save the other one.
I also have to say that Sailom really has good friends. Auto and Guy were always around him ready to help. Pimfah is an incredibly selfless person too. She made me think of Pearmai from Be My Favorite. They are both really good friends even though they never got the love from the ML they had a crush on. The teacher is also a great supporter.
I'm glad we also got more screentime for Guy and Nawa. Guy is facing a difficult situation with his knee injury and he may lose his dream of being a football player. He tries to pretend that he doesn't affect him but it does and Nawa can see it because despite their rivalry he spent a lot of time checking on Guy. I wish we got more of these interactions earlier in the series but it's nice to see their relationship changing. Nawa cares about Guy. I was a bit shocked about how he tried to make Guy admit the truth and stop pretending that everything is alright because I would never do it this way. It worked but it was painful to watch. However, it works for teenagers. At that time, communicating about how we feel is quite hard.
At the same time, we got all the drama and actions coming from the real culprit who shot Kang's dad. I don't think Name really shot him but he was in the house at that time and Saifah wanted to help him because of their friendship. Name made me think of a lost puppy who didn't know what was right and wrong anymore. He saved Kang and Sailom at the end of the episode and I hope he will be able to turn over a new leaf.
Anyway, as you can see I still like Dangerous Romance very much. Next episode will be the last and I will miss all characters greatly when it will be the end. I have to say it made me really appreciate the actors' performance. Most of them weren't actors I would follow before (except Papang) so I'm pleasantly surprised and I will gladly watch other series from them.

Yesterday I've finished Seversin and I don't know what to do with my life now...
Tumblr media
Now a bit of rambling about the final episode (spoilers included)
I was afraid of the final episode (ep. 20) after reading some posts on twitter. At first i didn't even wanna watch it at all. But I gave it a shot anyways and...
I liked the first half. The first hour or so was really great and i enjoyed it.
Thoughts about the first half:
I liked 💚
• Kiss, finally!!! They just look superb together in general and i was enjoying it a lot. All their together scenes! ❤️🔥
• I had a good laugh during the camping scenes.
→ For example when they were sleeping outside, I laughed a lot at Asya's internal monolog when she got scared of the potential bugs and scorpions because that would be me!
• I even liked how was Tolga a bit grumpy because that would probably also be me if i was forced to sleep outside without any food etc. lmao. I appreciated that Asya was really positive about it and didn't mock Tolga for example during the first morning and she just noted that thanks to that experience she now knows that Tolga gets grumpy when hungry and tired and that he hates sage tea and drinks coffee every morning and that she wouldn't have figured that out otherwise.
• Tolga's marriage proposal was one of the best I've seen in dizi land imho, truly beautiful and magnificent!
I didn't like ❌
• Tolga destroying the camp to scare Asya into going back to İstanbul, even though i could probably let that one slip but Tolga paying someone to scare Asya at evening was over the top for me and Asya got rightfully mad at that.
• We didn't see how they had negotiated the 3 days of camping. From the viewer's point of view we only know that Asya kidnapped Tolga (without Tolga's complains) and wanted to stay in the middle of nowhere with him (with a bit of Tolga's complains). Then when Tolga got grumpy Asya proclaimed that they agreed on staying there for 3 days and then returning to İstanbul. If we saw that, I would be glad because it looked like Asya got everything her own way without taking Tolga's opinion into account at all.
• They both got some good points during the camping and it went downhill pretty fast only thanks to lack of communication (as always) and no desire in finding compromise (Asya was tired of all the intrigues on and off set and needed to be away from everything; Tolga on the other hand got extremely stressed being in the middle of nowhere away from everything; and they both failed at understanding the other's point of view).
• minor complain: the coca cola product placement came off as kinda silly and ridiculous imo, but i am aware that it's not easy not to make pp seem silly lmao
Thoughts about the second half:
I liked 💚
• Nesrin and Kadir ❤️🔥!
• I think it's positive that Nazlı realized her mistakes and wanted to reconcile with her family but it could have been done better given the terrible stuff she had caused.
• I don't really want to put into positives that the main couple stayed together in the end because that's required by the genre in my opinion and i wouldn't watch any piece of media if the main couple did not stayed together.
• I kinda liked that Tolga accepted the offer and took over his father's company which kinda tied the plot line together but on the other hand it seems unrealistic that he would be able, as an actor, to take over the biggest production company in Turkey and be successful manager but hey, in a fictional world anything's possible so I'm rooting for him.
I didn't like ❌
• Asya and Tolga arguing into break-up after the camping. Imo they both were tired and frustrated which was justified given all the mess they went through in the last couple of episodes but they didn't cope with their emotions in a healthy way and ruined their relationship unnecessarily.
• Everyone overwhelming Asya and Tolga when they got back when clearly everything was not alright. Like okay, they got rightfully scared for their loved ones but it was just bad to start screaming questions one over another when the couple got back as visible hot pipe mess.
• The time skip when AsTol weren't together. In last episode it was unnecessary.
• All the drama was meaningless. I kinda understand (even though i despise it) that they put drama to attract viewers for the next episode but given the fact it was finale they could have made just cute happy ending without all the bs and making the couple apart.
• Asya and Tolga to reconcile for the last like 30 seconds of the series was just a bad joke. They deserved better as characters as well as the actors and we as the audience.
• Selin having nearly no consequences for all the terrible stuff she had done. I don't find it enough that she got kicked out of the company and she moved abroad given all the stuff she had done which was just straight illegal.
What i would change ✨
• I think the first half was good, I would only cut out Tolga paying the guy into scaring Asya. I think that their argument still on camping was kinda understandable but unnecessary, but okay if we let that happen then I would make them reconcile right after. The conversation in the very finale should have been here right after getting back from camping and letting off steam.
• I could see the time skip work if they were together, Tolga taking over the company, they both agreeing to star together in another romcom. When applying time skip they could make the very finale better. Maybe i could see something similar to the ending of Ayşe and Emre (Asya and Tolga's characters) because right then Tolga realized he wants to spend the rest of his life with Asya and start a family together. So it would make sense to show a brief moment of their happy family life.
• Coincidentally I've seen the finale of Erkenci Kuş today so they could make something similar using the time skip. In a couple of minutes we see engagement, wedding, birth of children, family life and happily ever after of Sanem and Can. So it is possible to pack a lot of stuff into very little time using a well thought out time skip.
Final thought:
I loved the first half but the second half was just wasted potential.
Overall I loved Seversin as a whole though, I may wrote my thoughts about the series as a whole in a while.

i’m like two days late, but I’m doing well! legally blonde is doing well! our cast size is now like 45, so… still a lot. and yes I’m caught up on lone star!! it emotionally wrecked me and I’m in love with judd and grace. please share your thoughts!!! - lily 💛
yay i'm glad legally blonde is doing well! in high school/my community theater everyone got cast in every show, so for musicals we always had casts of 60-80 people, so I can understand why large casts are overwhelming, but honestly 45 feels like a good number to me! still on the larger side, but definitely manageable.
911 lone star spoilers under the cut!
i'm so glad we're done with the ice storm lol stretching it out to 4 episodes felt like a lot. i'm also glad that they didn't introduce any other plots in this episode, just took the time to finish the ones they already had!!! it made it a lot easier to focus on the characters and what was happening.
re: talos, when carlos said he and tk broke up months ago and he didn't tell his parents i faceplamed, because i have written fics that start that way lol. i also felt like some of the way they did the "tk hearing carlos talk to him in his dream-scape hallucination" was weird, but it's fine. i'm so glad that they were able to reconcile and when tk was telling carlos to breathe and holding out his hand... yeah. that was good stuff. i wish that we hadn't jumped right to the end with them suddenly being completely okay and right where they were before the breakup, since they were broken up for a few months and there would probably be a few growing pains and need to rebuild a bit of trust, but since we jumped forward in time far enough for the 126 to be rebuilt i understand why they didn't show us since it would've happened in that time lol.
judd and grace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they have a baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm so happy!!!!!! i also felt like judd handled grace being missing really well. he kept his head and figured out she took her go bag and stayed calm and got to her! i also like the name they chose :')
the birth scene with tk also waking up was well done, but not quite as good as the "to build a home" scene in the original with jee's birth and albert being saved. but it was still good
i find it really funny that no one checked on billy lol. he inhaled gasoline and passed out and then no one paid any attention to him.
THE 126 IS SAVED!!!!!!!!! shout out to the milk carton man and his generous donation and honestly? shout out to his daughter for existing. i kind of want her to become a dispatcher or something, but she's not old enough for that yet. glad that the actress got 4 episodes out of her contract though, that's neat.
overall i'm satisfied with the conclusion of this arc! I hope we return to other, more normal episodes full of calls and rescues (although I don't really expect that we will since lone star is very enthusiastic about putting people in the main cast in dramatic and life-threatening situations)
anyway, what did you think???

Ah hello! Out for a stroll? how lovely-- . . . . . . Oh. That. Yeah. I don't mess with it personally, to be honest. It just exists and no, I have no idea where it leads and I don't ask. . . . . . . . . Anyways, I'll leave you to it then, and yeah, I would leave that alone as well. . . . . . . Folks are going to be coming and going throughout the night. I figured with recent events that we will be busy. I even ordered extra blankets for the area near the fireplace. Anyways, enjoy the night air, and remember, watch out for the whispers while folks are stopping by.
TW: Discourse Below that you can skip easily. It is in between these dashed lines that you can scroll by.
------------------------------------------------------------------------- [I want to make it very clear that what George and Sapnap did with Micheal and how that essentially messed with 5 others at the same time was not okay. See, when working with a lot of people to make a cohesive RP like the SMP is trying to do, communication is key. In D&D, you go to the Dungeon Master to work with them on major plot stuff so it doesn't fuck up the other's stuff and ruin the game. RP etiquette essentially is you don't go ahead with something pretty major without discussing it first. Sap and George didn't do that and the worst part was how they were laughing when Dream had asked everyone to please return Micheal. See, we have a term for folks who pull stunts like this that screw with the whole game for various malicious reasons in D&D: a That Guy. Nobody likes a That Guy and that is how stuff falls apart pretty quickly. I'm glad that Sam, Eret, Techno, Ranboo, and Tubbo were able to continue despite their actions. If you agree with Sapnap and George's actions, take a good look at yourself, right now. That wasn't funny, only one party was laughing, and to quote what the others said, "it was story breaking". I hope that in the future something like this doesn't happen again and folks can pull their heads out of their asses.]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disclaimer: This is all in the context of the characters from here on out and not the creators.
Anyways with that off my chest: YAY! MICHEAL WAS SAVED! Not only that but redemption arcs all around! Honestly, Eret's story is one of the more interesting ones to me, and seeing their redemption arc take a turn like this, oh gods above and below, how exciting! She did fantastically and his sacrifice tugged at the non-existent heartstrings. Thankfully they had a stasis chamber at the ready. To be honest, I wouldn't have been ready if Eret's story ended there. I'm glad she got the chance to shine through and even that moment where they felt betrayed and now understood how the others felt during the Final Control Room, oh poetic, so poetic. Eret, you wonderful human being, thank you so much and looking forward to more stuff from our king, praise be. Alright, Techno and Tubbo, okay, okay, okay, that, oh my gods, that was wholesome. Like apologies all around and banding together to save Micheal and take revenge for Ranboo? ow, ow, ow, my non-existent heart. Again. Him and Tubbo somewhat talking it out and Techno and Eret apologizing to Tubbo for their actions redeems Techno in my eyes a wee bit. (just a little bit, just a little). But yeah, having him come along and help save Micheal to also avenge Ranboo, that was awesome. Sam, Sam, Sam, Sam. You, uh, kinda got what you deserved. Like I get why he did those things, I don't agree with it and my heart is screaming for AweSamDad and the AweSamFam (Consisting of Sam, Quackity, Hannah, Boomer, and Tommy). But then you took Micheal and killed his chicken? Inexcusable. Suffer. But in all seriousness, Sam did end up serving as a sort of final hammer in the Micheal linchpin for folks to actually start coming together and reconciling. What happens to him will be pretty interesting going forward. I would love to see where Sam goes from here, if he is redeemed or doubles down. And with that, I don't know about you guys, but with how wholesome that ended up being, I'm terrified. It was too wholesome, where's the angst? where's the big hurt coming in? BATON DOWN THE HATCHES AND PREPARE FOR THE ONCOMING STORM OF PAIN!!!!!
