Ya'll already know we talking about Auron first especially the CAR SCENE & JUST ESCAPE IN GENERAL OMG. I don't care if people have like been talking this to death IT'S IMPORTANT TO ME THAT YOU KNOW THIS-

Anyway, Escape is one of my favorite solo series from the boys & especially that Shattered was hinted on Yuurivoice's Twitter that it might be coming along soon or at least that it's currently the works so we gotta talk about Escape again since it's story is definitely gonna play a part in there.

(Also forgive me it's been awhile since I analyze stuff & I'm not good at it either 😭)

Escape, besides Auron being like drained by Rook about like 4 times in a single night (Jesus this man's stamina is fucking crazy 😭), gives us a very nice deep dive into Auron's character & especially what literally breaks me is the goddamn ride home. It's literally Auron becoming more & more vulnerable. When you see the difference compared from the beginning of Escape to the literally the end of it, you see how vulnerable he becomes. What I also like about Auron is he doesn't go outta his way to completely change himself for us, The Listener. He's still a crime boss & he knows that he's done alot of shitty things. Not only that, he tells us about what he's done & full heartedly accepts the consequences that comes along with it.

"I'd hate it. I'd fucking hate it but I would understand." It's such a heart-breaking response to me because it's the fact that he loves us but for our own safety & if we're unable to handle that information, it could all just end there.

So when Rook sees him as more than that, it makes him feel appreciated & loved for what he's done for other people & what he had to do regardless of the consequences because as much as he's a asshole, he has this genuine need to help other people & doesn't care much about what he wants. However, it's literally so draining for him to do that which is something I lowkey relate to.

But, we don't want it to. In this car scene, we fully accept his flaws & you can hear the shakiness in his voice. Like he was about to burst into tears from just being loved & understood for what seems like the first time in a long while. It's literally so sweet but it's so bitter. He literally sees himself as like "I don't care what anyone thinks. I've done what I've done & there's no changing that but I wish there was."

Another scene of Escape that makes me feel things is the when Rook asked about Auron's scars. Not many people talk about it actually.

Auron doesn't really want to go deep dive into his past currently which we're all like "Oh, cool. That's okay :]" BUT WHEN HE SAID

"But, I don't want to. Do you want me to lie to you?" He said that so sadly like OMG IT'S OKAY- Anyway on a serious note, lying is something he doesn't enjoying doing. He's literally currently lying (possibly?) to Trish & Faust about this but like I said earlier, it's for their own safety. He doesn't want to bring any of his loved ones into things that he did & putting them at such a huge risk. Especially you.

HotD time travel fix-it idea that's free to a good home:

Rhaenyra dies and wakes up the day that Viserys announced his intention to marry Alicent. Instead of flipping out on Alicent (as seen in some fics), Rhaenyra loses her fucking shit on her dad ("You murdered my mother for a son, and now you would steal my dearest friend as well? Tell me father, how many young girls will die before you are finally contented?") and points out that the only reason he has to remarry is if she's being disinherited. (She may or may not try to stab him à la Driftmark, whatever floats your boat)

After the disastrous meeting, in which Viserys revokes his marriage offer and summarily has a slight crisis over missing the apparent boiling rage growing in his daughter, Rhaenyra goes to find Alicent and try to start over again as the girls they had been only to find out: spoiler alert, Alicent and Sir Criston also came back! Queue Rhaenyra apologizing profusely to both of them for everything she did and trying to make amends.

Alicent, while both shaken and touched by Rhaenyra's rage on her behalf, and extremely thrilled to not to have to repeat everything all over again, is understandable wary but willing to work with her for the good of the realm. Criston of course, still hates her (as is his right) but loves and respects Alicent enough to go along with it.

Key points of this au are:

Rhaenyra does not go for Daemon; she's able to realize that he was just using her and would have happily seen her and her first sons die if it meant he got the throne. She also acknowledges he's an abysmal choice politically

Alicent gets to find happiness, and she and Sir Criston get closure and heal while staying very good friends; they both get actual, genuine apologies from Rhaenyra, and she does improve her behavior to match

Larys dies. Alicent breaks down and tells Rhae and Criston about everything he did to her (sexually manipulating and extorting her, making her an unwilling accomplice in his crimes, etc.) and the two of them share one singular Look and suddenly he's very, very dead

Sir Criston and Rhaenyra become co-presidents of the Alicent Hightower Defense Squad; neither of them actually like each other (even if Criston can find a way to forgive her, which is a big if) but both of them would die and definitely commit murder for Ali

Rhaenyra finds a way to defer the Velaryon marriage by a generation, and Laenor and Joffrey live long, full lives with each other

Alicent gets to ride a dragon; she deserves it

So Charybdis is a child of Poseidon and Gaia who apparently had a voracious appetite (sounded more like she didn’t get enough food to eat [the myths do not say if Charybdis had a relationship with either of her parents so… yeah]) who tried to steal some of the cattle that Heracles (Hercules’ Greek name) had just retrieved for his tenth labor. Zeus being the bitch that he is cast her to the bottom of the sea for the apparent transgression (A kid was trying to eat) where she became a whirlpool trying to get any food she could

She also became friends with Scylla since they were both trapped in the same pass

Sorry if this is a bit of a ramble I just love mythology (and historical fiction hence my love for Record of Ragnarok)

Anyway, Charybdis at some point learn how to take her once human looking form (you could use the look from Smite [a myth based video game] for her look) but she looks like a child since that’s what she looked like when Zeus did the whole thing (not part of actual mythology just for this request) and so does Scylla and they wonder about and all until they meet the valkyries

My request is what is the valkyries relationship with Charybdis (and Scylla if you want to) and if you want to you can have them fight in Ragnarok for humanity (because those two would never ally with the gods after what was done to them)

-When the valkyries first found you, a small child just asking for some food, they instantly melted and took you in, assuring Scylla, who brought you to them, that they would keep you safe.

-Brunnhilde and Randgriz were furious to find out who you two were. They all knew of your ‘crime’ which they couldn’t even call a crime at this point, as you were just a child, desperate for food, and for your theft, you were cast into the ocean, trapped by Zeus.

-Scylla was the one who helped rescue you, after she took pity on you, seeing you as the thing you were, a child, trapped in the same strait she roamed after the jealous Circe transformed her into the beast she was today.

-You didn’t see her as a beast, you saw her as a friend, and the maiden who saved you, taking you to safety as she couldn’t bear to see a child in such a state.

-You had been adopted by the valkyries, becoming their youngest sister, the one they all doted on, treated you with such love and kindness and you never had to go hungry again, always making sure you had been fed.

-Your voracious appetite, which stemmed from not getting much food growing up, as your parents had both abandoned you in the sea, leaving you to perish or survive on your own, had calmed, once you started to get food on a regular basis.

-You were a shy child, afraid of the gods, as they had done nothing but treat you so cruelly, never going anywhere without one of your big sisters by your side, and even then you hid behind their legs if someone approached, be it human or god.

-Hercules was distraught when he saw you with Thrud, giving you a bright smile and saying hello, as kids normally loved him, and you immediately burst into tears, apologizing loudly as you cried.

-The two tried to calm you down as you cried, Hercules confused as he had never met you before, and he froze, learning your name from Thrud, seeing that the one who had stolen his cattle during his labors, was a child, desperate for food.

-He had not known that you had been a child, the guilt eating away at him as his heart broke, as he knew that Zeus trapped you at the bottom of the sea where you had to create a whirlpool, just to try to get some food.

-He put his large hand on your head, ruffling your hair gently before he smiled softly, “It’s okay, I’m not mad. I forgive you.” You sniffled, shocked that he forgave you, and he quickly became your big brother shortly afterwards, as he wanted to make amends with you.

-The valkyries were not bothered by you bonding with Hercules, happy to see that you two were getting along, the same couldn’t be said for when Poseidon and Zeus came by you and Hercules while he was reading to you.

-You had immediately hidden yourself behind Hercules, clutching his hair, but it didn’t hurt him as Zeus asked who you were, as he didn’t recognize you, neither did Poseidon.

-Hercules gave his father a glare, shocking the two gods, before telling them your name.

-Zeus gawked, seeing that he had punished a child so young, so harshly, and Poseidon was wide-eyed as well, he remembered you crying for him to not leave you when he left, deeming you weak and not worth his time.

-But here you were, out of your prison and healthy looking.

-Hercules was quick to pick you up when you started to cry, not wanting to be near the ‘meanies’ anymore which stabbed both gods through the heart at your harsh, but true, words.

-Hercules became your bodyguard, after Zeus tried to come around more, wanting to apologize to you for his harsh actions, feeling awful that he had treated a hungry child in such a manner, not letting Zeus get close to you unless you said it was okay.

-Zeus behaved, as he had not only his son, but all thirteen valkyries who were ready to throw hands with him to keep you safe and slowly you grew used to him being around.

-The day you forgave him after he apologized to you, it was shocked faces all around, before Zeus cheered which made you grin, as he was kind of funny.

-Poseidon was another story, he wasn’t allowed near you, facing the glares of the valkyries, Hercules, and now Zeus, who was angry at his elder brother for abandoning a child to fend for themselves.

-Poseidon knew that you had no reason to forgive him, but he did try apologizing, which shocked the whole pantheon when he apologized to you.

-He gifted you all sorts of food and treats, which you ate, but you didn’t forgive him for almost a year, after you started to realize that he was trying to come back to you, unlike your mother, who never came back, he was trying.

-Your relationship with your father was strained and probably always would be, but Poseidon was content to be a part of your life now, even if you never trusted him again.

Brett unapologetically believes what he believes. This makes criticizing him less worthwhile to people, cuz if it doesn't affect him, then what's the point?

With Noah, it's clear he's a lot more apologetic about what he believes. We've seen how quickly he backtracks and it's cuz his beliefs were never that strong in the first place. He's a total sponge. He's not confident about his beliefs whatsoever in the same way Brett is because his beliefs largely stem from the beliefs his loved ones have, who he trusts to have good beliefs. This makes tearing him down a lot more entertaining to people that love a good downfall.

I remember after 10/7, there were a few days where Noah did not say anything. So many people were waiting for the ball to drop. I was curious how his Israeli friends were reacting, and low and behold they both had instagram stories that were very obviously directed at him, crying and saying how they were disappointed that someone who they thought cared about them, who has millions of followers, hadn't said anything. And predictably, the next day he started being vocal about it.

And now we just saw how quickly he took down his copypasta after filming started. Im guessing all it took was a few days filming on set among the cast, away from his family and inner circle, for them to talk some sense into him, because he. is. a. sponge!!

It's crazy to think how much appeasing the people around him has probably played a big role in this. And how him now backtracking is only going to make them hate him now too, all the while not even getting the people that hate him already to even consider forgiving him anyways.

I agree with you I think he's VERY easy to suggestion from other people and that's what brought him to say certain things, I feel like propaganda does work and people just undermine that or like to talk about it theoretically but then when they see someone that actually did fall for it or that feels pressured to do things and is clearly influenced they don't take it into consideration and start jumping to the worst possible conclusion that they are heartless monsters etc even when they didn't idk commit direct crimes themselves because of it

Ch206, Grieving

@aretemisapollo commented on the cover and title art post for ch206, asking if "Grieving" refers to the loss of Snake's life or to Snake learning the truth about the circus troupe he calls family.

It could refer to either, both, or those two plus other losses.

There are multiple potential losses here, as well as several stages to grieving. This site gives some good basic information about types of loss, types of grief, stages of grief, and suggestions if you need help dealing with grief.

Forgive me, if I've missed a potential example here. However, anyone reading this should feel free to tell me about those missing potentials.

Snake learning the truth about the other circus members' deaths and asking Finny whether it's true that he killed Jumbo (if it's even true they are all dead): This is the loss of loved ones who have died. Questioning is part of the denial phase. He's actually previously been in the anger stage of grieving over this loss, back when he figures that "Smile" and "Black" caused them to go missing, so he goes to Phantomhive Manor to kill "Smile", our earl. But our earl lies to him, saying he doesn't know where his missing circus family is and that he's still looking for them. This lie has inhibited Snake from grieving that loss.

Snake trying to process the truth that his circus family would kidnap and harm children and asking Doll to confirm: He's clearly still in denial here, too, even as Doll lunges forward to attack a child. This is interesting, because it suggests he's been stuck in this phase for a while now, since our earl told him several months ago that the other first string circus members had been kidnapping children. That's why our earl is supposedly still looking for them, even though Snake probably notices there haven't been any active searches. All those months, he's probably been in inhibited or delayed grief over this harsh truth. After our earl lies about the troupe's whereabouts, he offers Snake a job (and a new family), so Snake has been kept too busy -- working and getting to know these new people -- to really process what his new master says about his loved ones' crimes.

Since he's dealing with more than one loss, Snake has cumulative grief.

Doll and the other kids, seeing that Snake's neck has been cut so deeply: This is anticipatory grief. Snake isn't dead (yet), but his death is likely. Doll is clearly shocked, which is often included in the denial stage, though some sources list it separately, as the very first stage. We have to assume the others are in initial shock, as well. Very quickly, this could turn to a bargaining phase, where Doll or the others beg or even pray for help to save his life. It could also turn into anger; not only could the others hate Doll more than they probably do already, but Doll could also hate herself for what she's done.

Snake, Finny, and the top students might all be grieving the possible failure to save not just themselves but also the other students/orphans. This is somewhat anticipatory. It's also collective. This might fall under the depression stage, since they are fearful and sad. Just remember that the stages don't always have to be in order, and sometimes people leave a stage but return to it later. These top students have been worried about this before Finny and Snake even arrived at the orphanage.

Doll's continued grief over the loss of her circus family has her stuck in anger, and we could say hers is complicated and/or traumatic grief, since it's been so prolonged... partly by the cinematic records Undertaker used for her episodes. This forces her to remain angry and seek revenge.

What other examples of grief are there in this situation? Perhaps Susan worried (anticipatory grief, anger phase) that she won't be able to collect more paychecks? Eff her. She's horrid. Same goes for the head matron.

Anyway, that's all I can think of right now.

So. Cat came out, I feel like Kazui ALSO wants to come out, and I need to talk about it.

(Spoilers for Cat) (Also TW: suicide mention)

First off, the style of the MV was great! Kazui going full crazy at the end was so cool. The song was a banger (as always). Now that we know he was a cop, some of his actions inside the prison make sense, like protecting the attacked prisoners, and trying to punch Es in the first trial.

My main guess now, going by enerything we have (MVs, VDs, Timelines) is that Kazui is a closeted gay man (or maybe aro/ace), and never had any real love or attraction towards his wife, only platonically at most. On the VD he says "I can't live unless I lie. That's how I was born...", and seeing as Japan has some big problems with homophobia, this really strikes off as him trying to hide this side of himself so that he can live a peaceful, "normal" life.

In that one timeline with Yuno and Mahiru, they asked about his preferences, and then after he answered Yuno said that was total bullshit. What other reason would he have to lie about his relationship preferences?

Also, "Cat", or "Neko", is a slang used by gay people in Japan to refer to bottoms or submissive gays.

The white dove represents his marriage, since he transformed his marriage ring into the dove (right before doing an "I Love You" reference). That scene of him eating the bird can be interpreted as him finally telling the truth to his wife, who he really is, and suggesting a break or a divorce, ruining/destroying their marriage.

By what he said in the VD, Kazui didn't cheat, or at least it didn't reach that point. He also said that we didn't find out his true crime/sin, since our base assumption was cheating. He also said that she died when he stopped lying. Of course, these could be more of his lies, but assuming they aren't. The only thing that I can think of, that would make her so desperate to jump off the balcony, is that his love never existed in the first place.

So what happened, in summary, was: He married his partner in the police, Hinako, to try having a normal life and conform to society. The marriage was a lie to him, but it was real for his wife. He tried to repress that side of him, hoping it would go away, but those feelings he repressed only got stronger, until he realized he couldn't keep lying forever, and decided to ask for a divorce, coming out to his wife, before he reched the point of cheating. His wife got upset, as seeing that their relationship was a lie, that he never truly loved her like she loved him, and jumped off the balcony.

But there are still a lot of questions that weren't answered.

If he didn't cheat, WHO IS BAR GIRL?? Is she important? If she is, why didn't she appear in the new MV? Is she even REAL, or is she a fabricated memory, or an idea, or a metaphor??

Is that guy in the wedding really the bartender from half? If he is, that means he is important, somehow. Was he his childhood friend? Does Kazui have a crush on him? If so, in bar girl scene, was Kazui actually flirting with the bartender before she arrived? Is he the same man he was arguing with in that scene from half?

For now I'm planning to forgive him, but is that really the best choice? It appears that, when we forgave him in T1, nothing really happened, because we actually forgave his persona, the lies about himself, instead of his actual true self. If he wants us to expose his lies, maybe an unforgiving veredict would be what he wants?

But also, if he is unforgiven, he won't be able to help defend other prisoners from attacks. We need to be careful when voting, as Milgram is starting to look like a strategy game where the goal is keeping all of them alive.

and i do think it's interesting that while leo's beginning "forgive me father" sounds almost reverent/religious, raph is the only one to explicitly state "spirit" while ALSO seeming closer to it than leo is to the father mentioned

anyways. tl;dr. you can see how they're brothers despite being apart for so long, how their lives are molded by the people around them but they still have that piece of each other in them

Does Joyce ever treat Buffy badly? Absolutely she does: telling her not to come back in Becoming is horrible, however much she obviously regrets saying it, the way she talks to her in the second half of Dead Man's Party is awful and deeply self-centered, and the retcon that she had her commited to a 'clinic' after Buffy first tried telling her about vampires before the show even began is (if one accepts it as canon) genuinely indefensible.

But the way Willow talks to Buffy in Dead Man's Party is also awful and selfish, and so is the fact Willow and Tara live in her house for free while she's struggling to pay bills and don't even offer to pay rent. And so is the way everyone treats her in Empty Places (throwing her out of her own house!), and so is the way Giles treats her in Helpless and in Season 6, and so is the way Xander behaves every time he opens his mouth in the first three seasons of the show, and so is the way that Angel and Faith and Spike and Riley treat her, constantly, which doesn't stop people somehow insisting that they are all good people who really want what's best for Buffy. Why are you so willing to forgive all of these people for what they are shown to do, and either reinterpret canon to make them as likeable and sympathic as you can or just insist that the writers wrote them out of character and they somehow really didn't do it, when you're not willing to show the same grace to Joyce Summers for the crime of being an imperfect middle aged woman who -- thanks to the premise of the show -- can't understand why her teenage daughter is suddenly behaving so differently and getting into so much trouble?

(To be clear: I think it is right to recognize all these things as unfortunate writing choices that don't actually make any of these people monsters. You should be charitable to Buffy's friends and take the show seriously when it tells you that they have a good relationship with Buffy. That is the way the show wants to be read. You should accept that Giles has an almost parental bond with Buffy. That is the way the show wants to be read. I do this myself. I'm just asking you to extend some of the same understanding to the only woman over thirty the show bothers to include for more than half a season before killing off or writing out of existence. The show explicitly wants you to think Buffy loves her mother and that her mother loves her. Why disagree now, when you didn't any other time?)

And, yes, in the metaphorical reading where coming out as a Slayer means Buffy coming out as bisexual, Joyce's attitude is -- to put it mildly -- not particularly commendable, her dubious claim to have "tried to march in the Slayer Pride Parade" not withstanding. But however compelling that reading is, understanding fiction is not just about finding a metaphor you like and ignoring the literal text. Especially when this is a reading that the show's writers probably didn't even intend and certainly don't fully commit to.

In the universe the show actually depicts, it is very understandable that Joyce isn't happy to learn that her daughter has spent the last two years risking her life fighting monsters every night (and has even died once while doing so!). Or for her to be unhappy to learn that she has been doing this largely at the urging of a strange man Joyce does't know, a man who has repeatedly done his best to convince Buffy that she should not tell her mother anything about it. (even when, as with Angelus, this came at a direct risk to Joyce's own physical safety!). This is, in fact, perfactly compatitble with the idea that Joyce is a good mother: she doesn't want her daughter to be hurt. It is very silly to pretend that wanting Buffy not to die young fighting supernatural horrors somehow makes Joyce a bad person.

(Frankly, if Joyce didn't seem upset about any of this I swear half of you would just use that as another reason to claim she's a terrible mother anyway.)

Anyways... Golly I do miss posting, and I'm seeing the Welcome-home Fandom slowly start to reshape itself (rather quickly actually) from what I've seen which is very wonderful! ° First way to get a specific ending, you would have to get Baker with his weakness, one of his weak spots is his head... And similarly, spice makes Baker feel very weak, You would also have to find a way to detach Baker from entity and then kill him. OR to get another ending route, you would be to beat Baker at his own game somehow (which would make Baker respect you and accept his death) those I'd say would be the two main endings! °

- So one death-ending route... You find a way to detach Baker from entity, weaken him, and then kill him (The No-mercy ending)

- Another way is if you beat Baker at his own game. Outrunning him, outsmarting him, etc etc... And that is VERY difficult to do, I'm talking 5% chance of you being able to actually do this. In this situation if you then hurt baker say by.. Shooting him, he'd smile at you and accept his death and the fact he's lost. Baker would then have entity take his soul and wipe the memories of baker from all the neighbors expect for you, so you'd have to live with the knowledge of the fact you killed him. (The acceptance ending)

- Another ending... This one is more complex and sad. you get someone Baker still loves or has loved to kill him. now if it's someone like Elizabeth, he's dragging her down with him. Accepting his end, yes, but not going without revenge. BUT... if it's someone like er... Y/n, a VERY close friend of his such as Julie or howdy, or even phoebe if you managed to bring them back somehow... Baker would just give up immediately. This fuck would probably finally accept something he's always told himself, which is that he's unlovable. He'd just start to cry and laugh at how stupid he's been to allow himself to trust someone again, apologize for what he's done, and would let/tell entity to finally end him and take his soul. In these scenarios all the neighbors would still remember him. (The heartbreak ending)

- This au could hypothetically end as well with you joining Baker. Which is where you (y/n) find baker's secret and join him, devoting yourself to entity as baker had done or simply helping Baker to continue this little "game" of his and working by his side. (The Partners in crime ending)

So... Can you kill him?? Yes, will it be Hard?? Yes, is it still possible?? Yes. This being said I wouldn't recommend trying... As there is a higher likelihood that the rest of the neighbors will not believe you if you have not presented them enough proof of baker's secret, and baker hides his Secret VERY well.... And so they'll will turn on you, and you will be sent to jail for a long time in this situation.

Furthermore besides those four endings... There is a secret ending you can get in this little au scenario!

If you can get enough proof, get to the police without Baker catching you, you can have baker sent away to a mental institution & rehab, and he will be detached from Entity.

Like a little redemption arc! In this ending the other neighbors will believe you and be presented with proof and hold it against Baker for a long time... However though they'll begin forgive him or at least making peace with him more likely, some more than others, even if they cannot be friends anymore because of what baker's done.

The difficulty of this would be a 80-90% as it would require you to have to not only escape from Baker, to get to the police, but also not get your memory erased or have Baker reset the day somehow.

And baker has control over the neighborhood and eyes everywhere... So this would be pretty difficult. But again, if you play your cards right, not impossible. (This is the secret/redemption ending)

So in total we've got, for possible endings to this au...

- The No-mercy ending (50% difficulty)

- The acceptance ending (90-98% difficulty)

- The heartbreak ending (30% difficulty)

- The Partners-in-crime ending (0% difficulty)

- The secret/redemption ending (80-90% difficulty)

And then of course all of these routes can end with... Baker killing you, unless you chose the Partners-in-crime ending or you actually manage to get said ending you're trying to achieve! (haha, all of this sounds like it's an actual game huh??-)

a thought (and i had a dark!dream version of this that seems to have slipped my mind but i can try to remember it if youd like); trans hob, as a (mortal) human, falls in love with morpheus, who is not human (vampire). after they've been together for a while and married and happy, hob is delighted to discover he's pregnant; he loves the idea of expanding their family and is so excited to tell dream the good news. except dream isn't human, and he has to reveal to hob that the pregnancy is not only very rare, but very dangerous, and there is such a small chance hob would make it through that morpheus, the ever miserable bastard, practically spends the entire pregnancy mourning hob even though he is very much so alive.

near the end morpheus is getting more and more anxious and keeps finding excuses to leave hob so that he doesn't have to confront his fears of losing him. he leaves home one night telling hob he'll search for an apothecary and medicines to see if there is anything that could help the situation that they haven't already thought of, but hob goes into labor when dream is gone. morpheus does not react well to coming home to his lovely husband 1. no longer pregnant, and 2. very bloody and very Unwell. of course it takes some shushing from hob, reminding morpheus that death isn't anywhere near enough to separate them, actually, for morpheus to get his act together, but it works! and oh, would you look at that, there's a baby, too. guess they should do something about that

(and if hob asks morpheus to turn him afterwards so that he might actually get a chance at seeing their child grow up past middle age, well. its hardly like he'd say no)

Omg yes please. I feel like we can make a much better version of Twilight with these ideas. I love the kinda comedic potential of this also??

Dream: this year i lost my dear husband hob

Hob, very much alive, pregnant and annoyed: quit telling everyone i'm dead!!

Dream: sometimes i can still hear his voice...

Obviously Hob is very aware and accepting of Dream’s concerns, and he tries to be as gentle and considerate of his feelings as he can. But. He is still alive, and feeling pretty good actually. The baby doesn't seem to be doing any harm, and he's just trying to enjoy his pregnancy you know???

It's very unfortunate that his labour comes on when Dream is gone. Hob is very resourceful, though, and he does the best he can in the situation. After much pushing and screaming and other unpleasant things, he delivers the baby, cuts the chord and lies down on the floor with the baby cradled at his chest. Dream comes back to what looks like a crime scene, and is genuinely shocked to find his beloved husband alive!

Dream cleans up the blood (mostly with his mouth. he can't help it), carries Hob off to a more comfortable place and makes sure that the baby is safe - they've already had their first feed from Hob and are now content to snooze for a while. Dream is practically weeping over Hob, apologising for leaving him, for being such a ridiculous and terrible husband while Hob was carrying their child! Of course Hob forgives him but he does have a condition: he wants to be turned. The dramatic labour has given him an idea of just how terrible death would be, and he wants to stay with Dream forever.

Dream is relieved. He doesn't want to leave Hob ever again. Or their baby, who is the most perfect little darling, totally unaware of all the drama they caused by being born. Dream also promises that if by chance Hob is able to become pregnant again, he won't be quite so emo about it. Perhaps. He'll try his best, anyway.

(Meanwhile Hob is honestly just trying to process that fact that Dream licked him clean. And he was into it. And now he's wondering what kind of vampire shenanigans they might be able to get up to...)

Cut stuff thought part 4

Halsin and Minthara. Ending stuff(getting on the soapbox there to scream). Plus various smaller quests, gods options for clerics and paladins etc.

I very appreciate them adding Halsin as companion at all, so I am very forgiving of him having less content than others. But knowing he was supposed to have Druid Circle quest in Act3 makes me sad it was cut. 

First, it would tie into his ingame wishes to bring more of nature/civilization balance to Baldur's Gate. Also, that was probably where you could develop his romance. 

I am _personally_ fine with him not being committed to long-term relationship despite his big romantic words. I have a deep fear of commitment myself, no matter how in love I am. You talk marriage - I run off. So I feel seen, and I get how he feels in his current version. But for very same reason I am keenly aware how frustrating it can be to be with someone like me. 

So if his quest is restored, I really hope his romance gets more fulfilling and just as developed as others.

Speaking of others... What happened to Minthara is a crime. I do not even have her, and will never have her (because I - as a player - like tieflings too much to ever side against them). And still I feel she was done dirty. Cannot imagine how people who have her and love her feel.

This is just like Karlach situation. It should have been restored in Patch 1 already. Especially since she was there from Early Access, not a late addition like Halsin and Karlach. She should have been as polished as other primary companions. No words just indignation.

Not to mention that from meta perspective it would be so interesting to see a romanciable character who is already pregnant with someone else's child. That is a unique story. And makes her actual literal MILF too 😏 And the salt from gamer bros... Can you even imagine?! 🤣🤣🤣

Justice for Minthara NOW!!!

Withers revealed as Jergal is a small thing. Like, EVERYONE who knows dnd gods knows who he is anyways. But it would be a nice thing for new people to learn/look into.

And naturally all of the cut post-game stuff should not only be restored, but also expanded. 

Post-campaign discussion is a very important part of dnd. DM should tell you how you affected the state of the world in great detail. You should discuss what happens to your characters with other players. In case of BG3 the game is our DM and companions are our co-players. 

That last talking post-game session is so very important for the campaign. Headcanons are good and all, but they are nothing compared to a good post-game discussion. 

It should have been it's own epilogue setpiece. At least prologue-sized in scope. One last walk around. You can just limit it to Wyrm Rock castle if necessary. Not just companions, but all of your allies gathered there too. Or some cool space shit for Illithid ending😁

Right now it feels like the group fell apart at the very end. And this is an unironic tragedy. Realistic? Sure(most groups fall apart long before campaign ends). But it does not have to be! 

They showed with Act 1 and Act 2 endings and some other stories (Astarion, Shadowheart, House of Hope, Bhaal stuff for Dark Urge) that they both KNOW how to give closure and CAN do it. So why not apply the same for actual game ending? 

Probably they just ran out of time.

One tiny bit of me hopes that they removed it because they plan to restore cut content, and it will be easier to make one proper ending that accounts for all those variables instead of making ending with current available choices and then tweak it for added stuff.

But realist in me says it's just a time issue, and not much more.

Onto smaller stuff that does not call for its own post, so I'll stick it there.

Hag Coven sounds very interesting. I get why it was cut - it has nothing to do with the main plot, so if they had to cut something, it makes sense to cut this subplot. Still, hags are awesome enemies, and if Larian decides to make DLC with extra adventures (I'll make a separate post about my DLC wishlist) - it will be a welcome addition.

Raven Queen plot line. Same as hags. Shame it was cut tho. I am very thirsty for He Who Was. But it explains why his quest felt so random and weird. Just your basic fetch quest. Which is generally not a thing in BG3. Now it makes sense. It was a beginning of its own subplot. Again, not a necessity, but would be nice to see it restored.

Idk what that Halfling Werewolf thing even refers too. But the concept is awesome, and I'd love to see it!

Shar, Myrkil, Bhaal and Bane as cleric/paladin gods.

On one hand it would add cool 'No, _I_ am the Chosen One moments in Shadowheart, Gortash, Ketheric and Orin (in case of Durge, literally!) convos.

In case of Shadowheart it could have been heartbreaking besties-to-deadly rivals over who gets to kill Nightsong too.

But... it would be applicable to only two classes. So if they had to cut something, it made sense to cut this. Most classes would never see those options anyways, so it's not that big of a loss. But it would be a very neat addition for Definitive Edition for sure.

They already have voice lines for Durge to claim the brain in dad's name. So they could easily reuse it. Just change name/pronoun.

g witch ending spoilers

g witch is over. i don't have any criticism that isn't nitpicking and i don't care about nitpicking. to me this was a 10/10 show with zero filler episodes and i'm very happy with the conclusion of this story.

some thoughts about the ending:

calibarn's gay rainbow permet colors were so cool. no notes.

all the gay rainbow permet effects were cool. i don't even care about how ridiculous they were.

miorine dissolved the benerit group. i am so glad she doesn't have to continue the corporate legacy that delling created and it seems like she is working with gund-arm like she wanted, developing the medical uses of gund tech. living her best life.

nobody could end spacian capitalism but the space/earth power balance seems to be disrupted. that's not nothing.

delling, sarius etc are actually held accountable for benerit's crimes. good.

earth probably welcomed prospera after what she did to that SAL fleet IF they knew that she was behind it. i doubt earth even has a seat at the SAL table at all so someone like prospera could be a hero to them. or maybe she's just a refugee now, who knows. earth is probably the one place where she won't get arrested and where she can live in peace. either way i'm glad she lived. that scene in the data storm with nadim got to me. 😭

everything about Peil in this episode was so funny.

both miorine and suletta have some sort of gund-tech implants on the backs of their head. i assume this tech is for establishing connection to eri?

eri in the keychain??? so fucking stupid i love it. sometimes a family is you, your wife, your shitty dad, your mother-in-law and your sister-in-law inside a keychain mascot.

…what if you lose the keychain?? what then?? i'm not going to think about this any further. it's fine. she's fine.

sulemio is married. they should have kissed on screen (that's one nitpick) but i'll take this. i'm not disappointed at all in the way their relationship was portrayed throughout the show and i liked that they avoided so many common romance tropes. sulemio is canon (always was) and they get a happy ending which is what i wanted.

i knew she wouldn't die but suletta was still hurt by all of that gundam action. the permet scars, becoming disabled - details like that are a nice touch to show that suletta (and by extension anyone else) piloting giant death robots can't come out of it unharmed. and she didn't just survive, she's thriving and she's so happy!!!!

gund-arm's medical tech really is a ray of hope for many (like petra).

actually nobody died??? after ep 23 i had the feeling that this would be the case because g witch seemed to be making the point that redemption through death is not helpful to those who are alive. killing off characters is such an easy way resolve conflicts and to drive stories forward and g witch examines if there can be a different way without violence.

…the downside to that is that it could go to the other extreme and be full on pacifist and excuse all those who had committed horrible acts (delling, prospera, shaddiq etc) but aside from prospera they're all held accountable and suffering the consequences.

prospera was right to want revenge and to want to create a place in the world for eri but her means were not justified. one of the thematic throughlines in season 2 was that how you do something matters just as much as what you do (like sameen shaw said). prospera admitting that she couldn't forgive herself for the things she'd done was just the perfect way of ending her story. i didn't need her to succeed in her revenge plot or to go to jail or die, i just wanted her to see that how she did things was wrong and that's the biggest payoff her story could have had.

and when she was like "my legs will be paralyzed soon anyway" and suletta just refused to leave her behind, and she got to be part of their family.... g witch really said disabled ppl deserve to be happy 😭
