Okay, so they might not have fully thought their plan through.

Really, who would’ve guessed that shadow-traveling to Will’s house would be problematic? If Nico had missed and passed out somewhere in the greater Austin region Will could have just sat with him until he woke, but nope. Nico pinpointed Will’s house exactly on his first try, landing the two of them right in the middle of Will’s living room. Which, again, would have been no problem if Will had actually been able to tell his mom they were coming.

Naomi Solace screamed and nearly jumped out of her skin, spilling cereal all over her pajamas as she shot up from the couch and instinctively chucked a bowl at Will’s head.

Will dodged the bowl. “Hi, Mom!” he greeted cheerfully.

there is no prize to this contest besides (i guess??) satisfaction, so dont get too worked up over it!

man finding fanfics i like is such a struggle bc i genuinely hate AU’s and fix-it’s and i also usually dislike the fanon interpretations of characters so i end up giving up on almost every fanfic i start reading like five paragraphs in

Ellis Wakefield was not one of Nico’s favorite people. In fact, he would probably go far enough to say that he actively disliked the kid. Just like the rest of his siblings, Ellis possessed a violent temperament typical of the children of Ares. He was crude, callous, and conceited, and he had a tendency to go off on his own to complete reckless quests without the knowledge of anyone else. Nico wanted nothing to do with him.

However, he was now the second camper to suddenly disappear without a trace.

Similar to Cecil, Ellis’s bunk was empty one morning with nobody knowing where he had gone. Chiron immediately began to enforce heightened restrictions on when campers were allowed to leave and where they were allowed to go. He also formed dedicated search parties for Cecil and Ellis - all of which had turned up fruitless. After getting back from Texas, Nico had tried to help as much as he could in the search but to no avail. Eventually, nobody was allowed to leave camp at all. Though there was no explicit cause for concern yet, Nico could tell everyone was beginning to feel on edge - including the old centaur himself.

Nico sifted through his vegetables idly as his appetite dwindled. He was frustrated about how helpless he felt, and wasn’t looking forward to telling Will another camper had gone missing either when he returned from his skiing trip. On top of that, Rachel had been planning to visit over the break, but had yet to appear. Had she gone missing as well?

The camp was even more dead than it usually was in the winter, and Nico had a feeling that things were about to get worse.

“You look grumpy.”

question for those of you that liked filling in the gaps. i know i promised a part 2, but since it is no longer canon compliant due to tsats being released, are people still interested in that part 2 where i just ignore the new canon parts that directly contradict what i wrote, but incorporate the rest? or is that no longer a fic you would be interested in? i did have a lot of ideas planned out but i also have a lot of other fics planned out so my feelings won’t be hurt either way
