The hug between Mack and Daisy in 6x05 is my favorite moment in the season so far and probably one of my favorites in the show, ever.

There’s so much in this hug and those two little words - Tremors. Hi - they speak to each other.

Mack has been rebuilding S.H.I.E.L.D. almost all on his own, especially in the beginning: May was in Tahiti (and nobody goes to (her) with their feelings), Daisy and FitzSimmons were in space and while Elena was there, he was distancing himself from her.

And now he has a new end of the world crisis brewing that he was preparing to face without 3/5 of his top players who he didn’t know if they were even still alive as they have had no contact for months.

He’s stressed, he’s alone and this feels like the first time he’s ever smiled in the season and how his voice breaks on Tremors...the relief and sheer happiness to see her again is practically palpable.

Meanwhile, Daisy has spent a year in deep space being a one woman army, compromising her morals (she was always okay with theft and targeted destruction for a good cause, physical torture is, however, new), no backup, no resources, in what must have felt like an increasingly hopeless quest at times.

And at the end of it all, she failed: not only they didn’t bring Fitz back, they lost Simmons too. How crappy she must feel.

And right there, in that soft Hi, you can hear all that I must be Quake, Destroyer of Worlds or the four of us are doomed facade melting away in Mack’s arms - and clearly, when Maria Hill made that comment about Thor’s arms she had never met Agent Mackenzie.

What a perfect, beautiful and wonderfully acted characters moment.
