Imagine a scenario in which Renji has to send a tenteikūra, the kidou where you write some symbols in blood on your arms and then send a mass spiritual email, a task which appears to fall under the vice-captaining purview.

Keep in mind:

Renji is terrible at kidou, BUT

Evidence suggests that Renji's body contains possibly an infinite amount of blood and he is capable of continuing to function even when most of it is no longer in him, BUT

Byakuya composed the message in question, and in fact, continues to revise it with no end in sight, even as Renji's muttering grows weaker and his face becomes progressively paler

For the sake of argument, let's say that it is an actual important message, and not a strongly worded email about properly labeling your food if you're going to keep it in the Gotei breakroom refrigerator.

Hello! As I was reading some of your an Ichinoue's meta again (sorry for the spam), I was also going through the earlier parts of the manga again to find a scene, and at chapter 62, when Tsubaki appears, Yoruichi noting that she is being hit by her own power added to your posts on how Orihime especially earlier on had a lot of self worth issues (including a lot of abuse in her life) that it kinda... made me start thinking about how the offensive side of her power first started off as something-

-that bullies her/yells at her/pulls her hair with little reason etc? Obviously, it could be more just Bleach typical slapstick but also given with all that additional context, it just feels like her only real inherently offensive power treating her that way, way back at the start? I hope this wasn't an uncomfortable thing to ask about, and you can ignore this ask, but I just don't I'm finding the right words rn but it felt worrying, thinking back, if that makes sense?

Hum, I believe that Tsubaki animosity and general disrespectful attitude towards Orihime might be a result of...let's say, anger that she cannot use him at his full potential ? There is this specific arc in Orihime's character journey where, as her powers are directly linked to her mental and emotinal state, coupled with her pacifism caused by trauma, ends up with Orihime's limitations in her general offensive strenght on the battlefield, which greatly subdues Tsubaki's OP power- being able to cut through any matter. This isn't exactly brand new in shonen manga, and pacifist characters being actually incredibly strong yet refusing to use that strenght to full potential because of a dislike towards violence are actually fairly beloved characters usually ( Granted, they also tend to be male characters so here's that. )

We also don't really know what her fairies are. Even with the recent confirmation that Orihime is a Fullbringer, she still stands out as having her powers being actually Talking Weapons. ( So far, Starrk and Kenpachi are the one who were in a similar situation with Lilinette and Yachiru respectively.....which is more a testament of their monstrous spiritual power than a proof that they are more than what we believe. )

Given how powers work in Bleach for the grand majority of the characters-if not all, it is safe to assume Orihime's shun shun rikka is actually a projection of her self onto her hairpins. My personal opinion is that, given her personality and upbringing, she indeed has very little self-worth and it is personified through her fairies : none of the 6 fairies even act like the other and all are particularly unique--be in personality or character design. This is make me think of Orihime having no Sense Of Self. This was already explored with Sora Inoue's character as a Hollow and I think Orihime ended up mimicking her brother attitude ( Obviously, in a complete different direction ). To add to this, while they were relatively present in the beginning ( well, somewhat lmao ) but more particularly Tsubaki who is the one Orihime gets along with the less, they entirely disappear after Hueco Mundo arc. Or rather, to be more precise, we don't see them anymore right after Orihime was captured and taken hostage. Which is the moment the narrative really delves into Orihime's issues and insecurities.

So tldr; I cannot tell whether Tsubaki violent attitude towards Orihime was slapstick comedy or actually relevant to Orihime's character arc, but with how Kubo wrote her development, I really wouldn't be surprised if it was the later. And of course- it also can be both at the same time...

God on the topic of ships, can I also just say how refreshing it actually is that Bleach has a lot of boy-girl friendships that are never implied to be romantic by the mangaka himself, and there are no "love triangles" or smth to speak of for the main gang? Like, Ichigo and Rukia are the two Kubo is clearly most proud of, but Orihime's friendships within Karakura gang is so heartwarming to see too?? Like TBYW start, them just bickering as friends in Ichigo's room is 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Like, I love the friendship Tatsuki and Ichigo had, even if they had a fallout, I love Ichigo's friendship with Rukia who was his mentor figure/friend, and with Orihime, who while it later became romantic, started as acquintances who care about each other, then friends, close friends to finally romance, Orihime's bond with Chad who she trained with and shared clearly a lot of her worries particularly over Ichigo's wellbeing with and you can just see how she grew close as a friend with Uryuu- (2/3)

-who she always considered as a kind boy from her sewing club and clearly being affected by his apparent betrayal the most as they had such a soft and fun bond between them too. And of course, even before all that, Renji and Rukia's friendship while it had tones of romance later, still is very nice to see in manga too. And these are all just *main cast*. For a supposed sexist, Kubo sure included so many platonic different gender friendships, huh.(3/3)

Yep it’s true I never thought about that but kubo did have a knack for male/female friendship ! 

I feel like Urahara/Yoruichi and Hitsugaya / Rangiku also deserves a mention here. 

In general Kubo’s is good at friendship and creating bonds between people and I think it’s a one of the reason why I like bleach so much like i can genuinely see the main group hang out together and just having fun acting like normal teenagers they all have have different levels of connection to each other but are still coherent as a group and that’s really good to see in fiction. 

In general I really really love a good friendship in the fictions I consume. And some of my favorite friendships are male/female. I can give the examples of Amy and the 11th doctor (which always felt so much like ichigo/rukia to me), clara and the 12th doctor obviously, ron and leslie from parks and recs, dwight and pam from the office, liv and rich from skins gen 3 and many many many more. 

It’s a good dynamic and it’s true it’s not often depicted so yeah kubo did good with this clearly.

That's fair as chapter 4 is a tricky one to get a 'true' reading on, but still the idea that Mugi used Gonta's naivete to 'befriend him' only (or mainly) because she knew that she could use it to further villainize Kokichi is.... somehow a low blow even from her, if that's the case? And never thought there was much I would find low enough to be unexpected from her.

Just saw your tags on the harry potter ships video thing, and it is the "Open up, FBI" clip, given that Harry is a teen/pretty young in the series and Snape is fairly older than him. That channel uses that clip a lot on such ships from a few other videos I watched before.
