A brief fractal flame art phase

You may have noticed these vaguely cloud-looking patterns in my social media banners and that one post about Minecraft capes. They were made in Apophysis, an open source fractal flame editor and renderer, following a tutorial by lucid-light (Eli Vokounova / Eliška Voko) on Deviantart. Back in 2021, I briefly got into fractal art but failed to grasp it in the end. I still have some of the files, though. You can get them from my Dropbox if you are interested. A few more renders under the cut!

All three were meant to be phone wallpapers. I used two different tutorials for the one with bubbles: by Esherymack and by nightmares06, both on Deviantart.

This is Terra, a Theraphosa apophysis tarantula. Also known as the Pinkfoot goliath tarantula.

I've had Terra for a few years now and I have really enjoyed the entire time watching its growth.

Over the years this one has grown out of the "little one" term. I tend to call all my tarantulas "little ones" because they've all been tiny slings when I first got them. Terra here is no exception. Grown to about the size of my hand now, I remember when I first got this one and it was literally about the size of a water bottle cap.

I'm super grateful to have had this one in my life over the years. Watching as it grew with each passing molt. Love these little eight-legged critters.
