Oh? It’s been so long since I’ve made that post that I’ve fallen out of my appmon phase, but I’m happy to fall back in for awhile to talk about him!

First off, like I said in the tags of the post this person commented on, my oc is more of a headcanon character of sorts, and I have included him in my appmon Gacha meme videos, so if you watch those, you might understand him, but you don’t have to.

Anyway, my oc/hc character is based off Yuujin, and (spoilers if you haven’t finished appmon) his backstory is basically that Hajime and Rei (though Rei does it begrudgingly, only because Hajime, Haru and Hackmon are telling him to) bring back Yuujin by grabbing the last latest version of Yuujin before YJ-14, so probably like, YJ-12 or something. And everyone’s happy bc Yuujin’s back and Haru & Ai are happy.

Though, of course, our revived version of Yuujin, is younger than Yuujin. And because model YJ-14 is stuck and dead in the dark web, they can’t get back those few years of memories back.

I imagine that in the hypothetical second season where revived!Yuujin exists, he would be suffering in the background from all the stress and inconsistencies that came from missing those years. I mean, he suddenly gained a whole new friend group, two of which (plus those not in the know, like Watson) would be a few years older than him. Also, not to mention all of the weird shit that went down during the appmon runtime, like, the appmon. And the fact that he’s an AI. And the fact he died. So, yeah.

I like to think that Yuu(our revived Yuujin) would be living with the Katsura’s, mainly because Rei still doesn’t fully trust him, and they(Rei, Hajime and Hackmon) need to be there in case Yuu’s old Leviathan code kicks back in, so, that’s fun (I will admit that I feel bad for Rei though, cause now he has to deal with being, basically the owner of a orphanage at this point)

And, anyways, after slowly showing the buildup of, everything, on Yuu’s back, he runs away.

Everyone immediately is worried (even Rei, bc by that point, while he might not admit it, Yuu grew on him) and starts looking for him.

They eventually find him, and that’s when Yuu tells them all (or at least, those who found him) that he feels, like he’s not even “Yuujin” anymore. Because, sure, he may look and act like Yuujin, but he doesn’t have those core memories that all his ‘friends’ keep bringing up. He doesn’t even remember meeting them! And it makes him feel, like he’s not “Yuujin.”

That’s when Yuu starts going by “Yuu” or, more specifically, Yuu Katsura (bc yes).

Everyone apologizes for making him feel that way and Yuu comes back. Only, a little different, as he’s now in an even younger body, so instead of being Astora’s age, he now looks like he’s Hajime’s.

Why? (Bc when I first came up with him he was Hajime’s age before I realized it didn’t make sense) bc he wanted to try and get a “fresh start” at being who he decided he wanted to be, and not “Yuujin”

Of course, his identity crisis isn’t over by that point, in fact it had only really just begun, and the rest of his story is Yuu trying to be comfortable in his own skin.

(And when he’s finally getting a hold of himself, Yuujin comes back-)

And yeah, that’s basically Yuu’s backstory. Sorry if that didn’t make much sense, or felt out of order. But yeah, that’s my appmon oc/hc character. I do have an actual appmon oc, being an oc who’s an appmon, and she’s Ai’s buddy! Though I still haven’t figured out her design just yet.

This blog is just a fun side project for all the neat Digimon bits and bobs I've found on tumblr, in addition to musings about Digimon themselves/some of my own art and v-pets.

This may ultimately be more game-oriented than anime-oriented, but I will reblog whatever I find cool.

Would anyone like to be my fandom friend?

Hi everyone. So, like everyone I’ve been through my ups and downs. I lost faith in fandom friendships to be honest. But recently, a close friend of mine has helped me believe in friendship again and I’m making some nicer friends recently, so I was wondering if any of you would like to be fandom friends. I am a fanfic writer though I do not draw fan art. 

My fandoms are:

~ Digimon (All series except Ghost Game as I have not seen it yet)

~ Voltron: Legendary Defender & the OG Voltron series as well. This includes Devil’s Due Comics.

~ Avatar: The Last Airbender. Mostly the live action because they’re doing so well but I love the OG mostly cause Zuko is the best written character ever. Zutara is my ship but I also like Zuko/Jin. 

~ Harry Potter. Not a fandom I write in but it has some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. But um I write OC/Canon in this. *hides*

~ Twilight movies. Jacob fans, please stay away. I am not a Jacob fan and would rather not hurt feelings.

What I’m looking for: Not too picky really. I am a Muslim moderately religious girl but I do respect M/M and F/F ships outside of incest or adoptive incest. I don’t write large age gaps myself but I have read it before, I won’t lie as well as time travel fics. I just would love to have some friends to have fun, in-depth discussions with about the characters that have nothing to do with shipping because not everyone likes the same ships but we all love the same show, right? Gen discussions are fun!

Oh though, two things. I am a firm supporter of Voltron Allura lives and Appmon Yuujin lives. I am also 33 female myself so I would prefer 18+ females. That’s about it. If you want to be my friend, please like this post and I will reach out via a private message.

3 - "any recurring images/elements?"

let's see... for Maroon Z in particular, hearts are a very prominent form of imagery! (Ideally, I want the audience's stomach to drop a little when heart iconography shows up by the end of the story...?! but we'll see ←has been rewriting the back end of the story a ton). They act as an emblem that represents the concept of a magical girl. This also includes both the cartoony "❤️" kind of heart, but also the more literal kind of heart.

To speak way more broadly, I think that hand-holding imagery is really prominent in just about any story of mine ... it's a way to share power, it's a way to show simple affection, and so forth! it's very versatile imagery! and, it's just nice to make characters hold hands. (as an aside, you might read below and think, "oh, did they pick this up from pretty cure?", but this repeated imagery actually stems from tag battle-related pokéani headcanons from when i was a kid.)

17 - "describe the "required reading" to understand your vision. be as pretentious as possible."

to speak more broadly again, pokéani is probably kind of required to understand just about anything I write (lmao?).. it kind of forms a "backbone" in how i interact with making my own stories. at the same time, there's also stuff I watched a little as a young kid that left a big impact on me even if I don't remember a lot about it, like Ojamajo Doremi, or the 4kids show Chaotic, or random manga i picked up from libraries over the years... (though, I guess the question asks for specifics and not broad things...)

When it comes to Maroon Z, Futari wa Pretty Cure is definitely required (and... maybe RGU depending on how much my brain chemistry is altered by the time I finish watching it). In general, I think having an understanding of Pretty Cure is pretty necessary for understanding any of my magical girl OCs, since it's been really influential for me.

For my OCs that are of the "mons genre" ... well, again, pokéani (specifically DP) informs a lot. i think the digimon series adventure 02, tamers, and appmon are also kind of necessary to understanding how I approach the genre? (kinda bakugan too). To give a more specific example, I think that to understand what I'm going for with something like Imagination Defenders (i still wish i had a better title for that...), I think Tamers, Bakugan Battle Planet, and Xros Wars Hunters (←also a Digimon series & it honestly executes exactly the kind of setting I'd been imagining for ImaD...). Video games are an important influence, too! For example, it's easiest to understand Avi Battler if you're familiar with both Appmon and Smash Bros (specifically custom fighters/amiibo fighters in smash 4).

Well, I don't know of all of that is necessarily required reading, but I like talking about the kinds of things that influence the stories I make.

24 - "best scene youve written?"

hm... this one kind of depends on how you define "written". I'm good at coming up with stuff, but not nearly as good at remembering to actually write it down...

When it comes to "published" things, I still like the ending of the Maroon Z pilot comic.

When it comes to unpublished things (and also still not written down things...), I'm actually really excited about how the rewrites for parts of Maroon Z as a whole are going & how they tie things together. Lately, I've also been having fun writing things up for MonRev and Avi Battler (especially the latter, since it's about video games).

Had a dream that ended on me flipping through TV and stumbling on a crossover between digimon and pokemon and it was in the climax where they were facing some random villain and pulling out all the stops (including Rika card swipes and flashy animations, and a pretty bad cover of Hey Digimon because they apparently wanted to use the remake cast of adventure instead of the og) who was, like, a digimon kaiser kind of guy, and as they were right about to win it ended with a show original OC girl who brought them to save her brother who was the villain, randomly trying to force Pikachu to evolve to be stronger so then all the people from pokemon laugh because she doesn't even have a thunderstone and pokemon doesn't work like that

So then friede from horizons made a big speech about how pokemon (usually) don't have dark evolutions and you can't force yourself or others to push their limits and if something goes wrong you have to work hard and change how you approach things to overcome challenges

Anyway, his speech starts falling apart as he notices the brother's head was busted open during the fight and it turns out her brother was a robot, and she was the actual villain just trying to gain the power of both series, but the dream ended after that so I didn't actually see what happened next

I don't recall what the dream was about before the channel flipping though, but I thought the random speech and also Friede having a genesect/steel pokemon was weird, and what made me watch it in the first place was that I confused as hell was the fact that the cute wolf digimon from Appmon was interacting with Agumon in Adventure Psi's animation and multiple Terriermom were there so i thought it was *just* another digimon crossover at first
