“Kiss me, quick!”

Eddie blinks at Buck, but the blonde is staring up at him, all intense urgency, and he does understand all the words in the sentence, so he does what any rational person who's been in love with their best friend for five years now, would do— He leans in and presses his lips against Buck's.

Because, why wouldn't Eddie take the chance? Buck asked Eddie to kiss him and really, his mind never quite works like normally when he's around Buck. All common sense and logic that Eddie posseses flies out the window as soon as Buck is less than two feet away from him.

Still, Eddie is freaking out inside. He tries to keep the kiss chaste and innocent, tries to hide his shaking hands and tries to not let all his feelings of pure devotion and adoration pour out of him.

But then Buck is grabbing his shirt when Eddie tries to pull back and slides his tongue against his lips.

So apparently, they're making out now.

Eddie thinks this must be one of his recurrent dreams— even though this one feels realer than any of the others he's had.

When they finally pull apart, Eddie's gaze falls to Buck's lips— all spit slick and swollen.

His voice is more than a little raw when he asks, "I'm gonna need you to tell me what the hell was that about, Buck."

"I, uh— You know Andrew? The new probie?"

Eddie blinks slowly, confused by the change of subject.

"Yeah?"

"He was going to ask you out." Buck looks down, heat rushing to his cheeks. "And I kinda panicked."

"Andrew was gonna ask me out?"

"Yeah."

"And you... panicked? And asked me to kiss you?"

"I, uh..." Buck scratches the back of his neck and avoids Eddie's gaze. "Yeah. Can we just forget this happened?"

"Were you jealous?" Eddie pushes.

"I think Hen is calling—"

Eddie tsks and shakes his head, just to lurge forward and grab Buck by his cheeks, pulling him into another kiss.

"Just so you know, I'm in love with you, idiot." Eddie mutters against his lips. "Now shut up and kiss me again, okay?"

They're so close that Buck's eyes go cross but he nods, their foreheads brushing as he does. "Yeah, okay."

ohh okay so im actually really excited about this one!!

buck is a single dad new to the city and he gets in a car accident. he gets the worse of it but his daughter is fine!!! just a couple of scratches and bruises!!

eddie and the 118 are the ones who answer the call and eddie is immediately soooo worried by bucks adorable little girl. she's so scared and she's crying for her dad and eddie just wants to protect her and give her the biggest hug, y'know?

so, when they get to the hospital, eddie can't help but linger. they got the dad stable and alive to the ER but eddie needs to know what happens, needs to know the little girl will be fine.

turns out that buck is in a coma and he has no family they can contact (he hasn't talked to maddie yet) and it's just the two of them. eddie ends up being able to foster bucks daughter and they visit him everyday (buck can listen to their voices and kinda understands whats going on)

"hey, handsome." tommy would whisper. buck tilts his head to try and catch tommy's lips in a kiss and tommy would hum softly, lacing his hands on top of buck's stomach.

or or, once their relationship is steadier. whenever tommy feels like wanting to kiss buck, he would glide his thumb across buck's lower lip, cup his chin gently and lean in to kiss him, just like the first time but so much softer, with more meaning.

and buck, on the other hand, would pull tommy in by the waist. if tommy is wearing jeans, he would hook his fingers through the belt hoops and ask him to come closer.

Headcannons for Buddie when they are old men.

how did u know i might be writing a fic with old buddie? 🤨

no but i love the idea of them growing old so

after they retire i think they both get a little restless but especially buck, so he starts a bunch of little projects— like gardening outside the house, with dirt stains on his jeans and the sun hitting him in the face as he hums under his breath. and eddie would watch him with the fondest, biggest heart eyes ever leaning on the door. i think buck would also take crocheting or knitting and he would be really bad at it at first but he'd get better and better and would knit/crochet for all their loved ones.

oh oh! i think buck would kinda freak out when his hair starts going grey. he would be in the bathroom, watching himself in the mirror with a grown, frantically running his fingers through his hair and leaning over the sink. and eddie would walk behind him, wrap his arms around buck's waist and kiss his neck with a small but satisfied smile curving his lips.

buck would turn around and be like, why are you smiling? with a pout on his lips and eddie would just shrug calmly. because, they're growing old together!!! and that's something that he would never ever take for granted after all their near misses and near death experiences.

and also because there was a time where eddie never thought he would get this at all. that he would get to be this happy with the man he loves. so he just looks at buck and shrugs, "i just love you so much. and you look hot with grey hair so stop freaking out and come to bed already." and he'd kiss buck's birthmark above his eye, slap him slightly on the ass and walk to bed to wait for his husband.

also, they always fall asleep during movie night and they wake up with really sore necks and backs bc they're too old to be sleeping in a tangled mess on the couch. eddie would wake up groaning and complaining and buck would tease him about being the typical grumpy old man.

oh, they also adopted a little girl so when they're old, the holidays are packed with family. her and christopher visit from college and then years down the line with their own family and buddie gets to spoil their grandchildren rotten.

buck stills plays with them and picks them up every chance he gets and he's always competing against eddie for the best grandpa title. (it's always a tie, except when he sneaks in candy or ice cream after dinner for them.)

to be fair to eddie, as someone who grew up in texas, albeit 10 years earlier, the military propaganda is STRONG. especially for someone who has spent his life being pressured to “provide” and “be a man” etc etc. el paso is also a military town (there’s a base there) and they make it sound so nice: get an education free, veteran status when you get back, your kids get good health care and educational scholarships as well. i can totally see how an 18 year old eddie diaz who was scared and stressed and grew up the way he did saw it as an option.

oh okay yeah, that's fair. i think because here there's not really a lot of military propaganda, me personally i don't get it but if they offered those benefits i feel so many young ppl would fall for it.

okay so i was rewatching far away from home yesterday and thought of spiderman buck getting hurt and like, basically crashing into eddie's apartment. and eddie being the competent paramedic he is, patches him up??

“Christopher won't believe me when I tell him Spiderman was here. The one night he isn't here, I swear.” Eddie grumbles and mutters under his breath, probably not intending for Buck to hear any of that. And he probably wouldn't have if it wasn't for his enhanced hearing.

“Who's Christopher?” Buck asks, mainly to distract himself from the pain when Eddie starts kneading the needle through his skin.

Eddie startles. but to his credit his hands remain steady and calm while working on Buck. “My son,” He replies after a few seconds. “He is seven years old and obsessed with you. All he talks about is Spiderman, I swear. Probably a good thing he isn't here to see you, or he would've peed himself from the excitement and would be asking you a million questions.”

“That's adorable.” Buck smiles, and then his breath hitches when Eddie performs another stitch. “I love kids.”

“I love this one.” Eddie mutters.

Buck starts noticing new things he hasn't before. Like that picture on one of the shelves in the far corner of the room. A photograph of Eddie and the kid Buck assumes is his son— it looks like it's from Halloween. Eddie is dressed as Snake Plissken from ‘Escape From New York’, holding a tiny and adorable Christopher dressed as Spiderman in his arms. He has red glasses over the mask, and they're a little askew. It's— so endearing and charming that Buck thinks he might burst with it, suddenly reminded of why he does this. Of why he endures all the bruises and stabbing wounds and nights like these.

"I would, like—" Buck gestures with his drink, spilling some of his beer into Eddie's pants. "I would, like, ride into battle with you, man."

Eddie has to smile. They're at Chim's bachelor party and Buck is way past buzzed— He's sweaty, with his hair sticking and curling around his forehead and some hair strands sticking out messily, his cheeks are flushed and his eyes are bright and glassed over, a dumb smile gracing his stupidly tempting lips.

"What battle are we fighting?"

"Any fight you want. I'll just..." Buck squints his eyes and then shrugs. "I'd jut' follo' you." He slurs his words and leans heavily on Eddie's shoulder, his hot breath gracing against Eddie's neck and rising goosebumps on its wake. "I'd follow you anywhere, Eds."

"That's nice, Buck. But I'm not interested on riding into any battle." Eddie smiles, exasperated and fond all at the same time. "Let's just stay here okay?"

Buck's leaning on him to an extent that is somewhat alarming. And kind of awesome, but–mostly alarming. There’s a lot of touching. (Eddie is losing his mind a little.)

Not to mention Buck has to be screaming on his ear for Eddie to hear him above the loud noise of the karaoke and Chim and Hen's out of tune voices.

Buck squints up at him, and Eddie lets himself look stupidly fond of him, because the blonde is drunk, so it’s fine. Buck's not going to remember Eddie looking at him like he’s his favorite thing in the world come morning.

"Eddie, I'd die for you."

"Please, don't."

Buck doesn’t seem to be listening. “Of course, I’d haunt you in the afterlife, but really–” He waves his hand vaguely, spilling more of his beer on the ground and on Eddie's shoes. “It’s the thought that counts, right? Like, I would so die for you, man."

"I don't want you to die for me, Buck." Eddie sighs, half amused and half sad because he knows Buck means every word he's saying. "I like you very much alive and well."

"I like you too, Eds." Buck gives him a sloppy, wet kiss on his cheek and Eddie's heart breaks a little.

Buck won't remember this in the morning. Buck won't remember this in the morning. He keeps telling himself.
