My Challenging Life

I didn’t have many wants or needs as a child in the material sense, but I did want to know why I had a bad leg and a bad foot and that inquisitiveness never went away.

It is natural for any child to want to talk, even more so when that child deals with a mild disability and although I have my writing to help me understand and talk about my challenges, they don’t replace my experiences, they’re still there.

What it may do is give us the emotional strength to reconcile. Although we may generally not want to live in the past, in my case it is difficult with 57 years of trauma, not to hold on to, or to have to revisit from time to time.

Even if I would have had a name to my disability, I wanted to talk about my disability, any child would want their family to know how living with a disability made them feel. Children need to know they are understood.

To be at least told I understand, and we want to help, would have been a start to my less challenging life.

Meet my baby Luke Pronge Skywalker! He was a birthday gift about two years ago from my 22yr old daughter Jenny. Ever since I could remember I’ve always wanted a little puppy just like him. He’s my constant companion, the jelly to my peanut butter and all that Jazz!! I love this little guy with all my heart! I never imagined being able to love a pet so much. 💗On top of the love I already feel for my kids, my husband, extended family and friends!! Isn’t it incredible the capacity we all have to love one another?? . . . However, I’m sad this morning. Because as much as I’ve tried to protect him, a foxtail somehow still made it into his ear. 😬We’re going to the vet this morning where they’re going to put my baby under to get that annoying thing out. I hate that he has to go through this procedure but it has to get done. I can’t imagine how awful this must be for him. I’m sure he’s going to be just fine but I can’t help but worry about him. . . I’m always up to some kind of shenanigans with my girl! #mybff My first born! My family & my why! We all do crazy stuff for our kids right? I mean really, you always hear amazing stories about incredible mamas and papas who do some crazy stunts just so their kids could have a better life. My crazy thing is to create a livable planet for our kids, our grandchildren and their kids future! Because if you have been paying attention lately you might have read news reports from respectable news stations on the state of our planet. It’s now more then ever that we need all hands on deck! Even if you don’t personally see plastic straws on the beach doesn’t mean they’re not there. They’re everywhere. Even if you’re not actively dumping trash in our oceans and think these are third world problems because other countries are the ones polluting the planet. That pollution comes from corporations whom we buy products from and support with our hard earned $$. So unless we put the pressure on them to change their excessive plastic packaging and stop using toxic chemicals they’re going to continue selling these products to us and them because we’re still buying them. It is our job as caretakers of our family to protect them and ensure they have a happier brighter future. This is why I do what I do! This is why I Norwex and why I work so damn hard at getting these products into as many homes as I can. Take a moment today to think about it. Then talk to me about ways you can take action. I don’t want you to obsess over it but do take a moment to think ok? It’s a beautiful day out there! Now go out there and have an amazing day with your loved ones!
