Arches National Park - Moab, UT
Tumblr media
Yesterday we drove from Denver to Grand Junction, where we met up with Jim and Cathy for lunch. Jim never fails to surprise us, when we arrived for lunch we found out that they were packed up and ready to go with their 5th wheel. So after lunch we drove over to Moab, taking the back road down to Moab that winds along the shores of the Colorado River (pictured above). We stopped and checked out some petroglyphs and the ruins of an old rock house built up into the hillside over the road. We stayed in a motel in Moab, Jim and Cathy camped along the river. Our room was very nice and only $65/night, as it is off-season. We found a great little brewpub/restaurant for dinner - Dewey's Restaurant & Bar - we enjoyed it so much that we went back there again tonight.
We spent today in Arches - what an incredible place! I did not think that I would have the chance to ever see it, due to the crowds and permits necessary to enter the park during the spring, summer, and fall. Grateful that the weather cooperated and we were able to make this visit during the winter. We had a beautiful, warm winter day and we took full advantage - taking a couple of short walks and then a longer hike to check out different areas. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day:

Jim and Cathy were awesome tour guides through the park - what a great day! After dinner, we headed our separate ways - tomorrow they are headed to Yuma and we are headed back to Tucson.

#NationalParkWeek #NPSAccomplishment The Chinook Entrance Arch spans the width of the Mather Memorial Parkway (SR410) at 5,432 feet on the northeastern boundary of the park. The arch was designed as both an entrance portal and an equestrian overpass, to convey hikers and riders on the Pacific Crest Trail. Built in 1936 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, the rustic-style arch became deteriorated by the elements and nearly eight decades of use, prompting Mount Rainier National Park to undertake a massive restoration project to preserve this historic structure in 2012. Have you driven under the restored Chinook Entrance Arch or walked across it during the summer?

also hermitpires is not canon sadge i had no plan for it (this fic probably takes place pre-rift anyway, so it could be future canon i guess it just doesnt matter at all here.) neither is the joel and jimmy duel from the latest episode canon lol

Hey! Hey, would you like to be a park ranger?
Tumblr media
USA Jobs just posted a bunch of national park ranger positions for summer 2024--everything from small historic sites to the big flagship parks like Yellowstone and Yosemite. These are seasonal positions specifically for interpretive rangers, which means you begin around May-ish and end around September-October-ish. Interpretation is the branch of the NPS that does educational programming and frontline visitor services, like working in the visitor centers, leading guided walks and talks, and just generally interacting with the public in a friendly, helpful way.
If you have a four-year college degree in just about any subject (honestly, I've worked with people with degrees ranging from theater to business to geoscience), or 12 months' relevant work experience (customer service, retail, education, camp counseling, etc), or a combination of the two, you're eligible to apply. All you need is a resume and transcripts if you're using education to qualify.
Just go to USAJobs.gov and search for "park ranger interpretation" in the search bar. The key things you're looking for in the results are listings from the National Park Service, the code GS 5 (which is the entry level for this position), and the phrase Not to Exceed 1039 hours (which indicates it's a seasonal position).
Some tips!
>Each application requires you to answer a questionnaire about your experience with things like customer service, preparing educational programs, researching scientific topics, etc. Be generous with yourself on these, because other folks will be. Even if you don't think you're an "expert" in something, consider your past work creatively. Have you presented research projects in class? Have you worked retail? Can you keep up a professional demeanor when somebody's upset? You have the qualifications. Rate yourself as such.
>Be thorough and specific in your resume. The NPS isn't a one-pager resume organization. They need to see evidence that you have the qualifications you say you do. The best way to ensure this is to copy, word for word, the phrases in the above questionnaire and insert them in the relevant places in your resume. So if the questionnaire says "Can you research, prepare, and present scientific information to a lay public," go to the appropriate place in your resume and write "I researched, prepared, and presented scientific information to my peers" or something similar. I kid you not, my current resume is ten pages long.
>Cover letters are optional but helpful! There are lots of templates online to help you write one; be sure to be professional. Mine is around 250 words and has three short paragraphs:
1- Position I'm applying for
2- Quick summary of most relevant work/education experience
3- Additional skills/rizz that makes me stand out (for me it's writing/illustrating, which helps me create visitor programs)
>Two things the NPS loves that will boost you are foreign language skills and being a US military veteran. Highlight these elements if you have them.
>Are you a schoolteacher? Check out the Teacher-Ranger-Teacher program.
>The big flashy parks are posted as standalone listings, but most of the others are bundled into "Multiple Locations" that are based on region. Consider applying for many of these smaller monuments and historic sites---they get far fewer applicants and are easier to secure. And many are absolutely beautiful. Want to work at Arches? Also apply to Natural Bridges. Want to work in Yellowstone? Also try Lassen Volcanic. Prefer history over science? You have dozens of amazing options from every facet of American history.
>Apply today! Apply now! Many of these parks cap their applicants because they get so many, and the rest will close after a week or so. A glance at the ones that were posted today and yesterday show them either closing on October 15 or 22. Some regions haven't posted yet, so keep checking the website in the next few weeks.
I love my work as a park ranger---it's such a rewarding way to spend a summer (or two, or ten), and it can open doors to other things. You won't get rich, but you will make great friends and great memories, add a killer section to your resume, and spend four months immersed with smart, passionate people in some of the coolest places in the US.
Plus you get a SICK HAT

piss bukkake anon again (god what a fucking legacy... can I have like one of those anon emojis just so I wont have to say that shit everytime. if yes can I be 🍑 anon? if thats already taken then 💅🏻 or 💀?)
anyway... I was thinking and like if youre not into this dw I totally understand!!
but what if two of the ghouls are fucking and they knot. but the top suddenly realises they have to pee... maybe they pee and have to stay linked together until the knot goes down (having to awkwardly shuffle to the bathroom or get it all over the bed), maybe they Barely make it out but lose control right before the toilet/right as they get up to run to the bathroom. maybe they Almost make it but just as theyre almost deflated enough they lose control, unlocking right as theyre finished... maybe with Swiss and another ghoul? though if its 2 other ghouls I also dont mind!
i haven't stoped thinking about this since you sent it i died ugh. also in case u missed it, you can be 🍑 np heh anyway i chose swissdew to not torture yall with yet another swissalps fic lmao
520 words, anal sex, knotting, cis dew for once, pissing inside (pisspie?), slight degradation, tiny bit of hair pulling
“Ugh, kitten, stop that,” Swiss grunted, digging his claws into Dewdrop’s hips.
“Stop whining,” the fire ghoul snarled and pushed his ass back into Swiss’ stomach once again.
“Fucking hell,” he spat as he wrapped the other’s braid around his hand and pulled, making him moan wantonly. “It’s gonna be your problem, not mine, if I piss in your pretty little hole. Stop. Squirming.”
“Who said it’s gonna be a problem, hm?”
“Oh… oh, you fucking whore,” Swiss gasped, the realization hitting him like a freight train. The realization that Dewdrop wanted him to… “Fuck.”
Dewdrop purred, arching his back further as if in invitation, “Come on. Knot me, get me stuck and fill me up.”
“Shit, fuck, kitten, you– fucking hell,” the multi ghoul moaned and pushed back into Dewdrop again. The idea alone and the fact that he wanted to do that, that they were about to do that threw Swiss right onto the edge, his knot ready to be shoved in.
“Do it.”
“Give me– shit, gimme a minute,” he panted, jack hammering into the fire ghoul with a bruising force. With a moan he bent down over Dewdrop and pressed his face to his back. “Are you… are you sure?”
“Yes, fuck,” he whined at the change in angle that made Swiss ram straight into his prostate. “I’m c– close.”
“Me too,” the multi ghoul muttered into his skin. He straightened back up and clenched his jaw so hard it hurt. Swiss dug his claws into Dewdrop’s skinny hips, holding him with an iron grip and pushed. He pushed and pushed, watching the fire ghoul’s hole stretching around his knot, until it popped in, making Dewdrop shudder and wail as he came untouched onto the mattress below them.
“So fucking tight, kitten,” Swiss growled, grinding it in for a good measure. It took only seconds for the rhythmic clenches of Dewdrop’s ass and the tightness and warmth engulfing Swiss’ cock to make him cum, too. He groaned as his orgasm washed over him, nearly forgetting about their… plan.
“Do it,” the fire ghoul reminded him, nearly sobbing. “Please, Swiss.”
How could he not obey such a pretty plea?
The moment Swiss’ dick stopped leaking cum, he forced himself to relax and let go. It was harder than it should be, considering how he could barely hold it in minutes ago. With a sigh of relief the multi ghoul started to piss, filling Dewdrop up to the very brim as he moaned like a true whore at the feeling of all the warmth inside him.
“Oh, fuck, fuck, fuck, yes, shit, it’s– it’s so good,” he cried out, limbs shaking.
“So fucking filthy, kitten,” Swiss chuckled above him as he rubbed his hands over the fire ghoul’s back soothingly. “My lovely little piss slut.”
"Shut the fuck up," Dewdrop breathed out. "Lay us down."
He didn't reply, only bent down to kiss the other's spine and obeyed, wrapping his arms around him and laying them down on their sides.
"We're doing this again," Dewdrop announced once Swiss cuddled up to his back.
"Absolutely we are."

And the way Buck clutches at him like he can’t get close enough? Fucking intoxicating. Every twitch, gasp and whine is angelic and holy to Eddie’s ears. A chorus he aches to hear composed into a divine litany of pleasure, written in the key of Buck’s rasps and moans.
“Baby.” The pet name falls so effortlessly from Buck’s mouth that Eddie’s not even sure he realizes he said it.
“Yeah?” Eddie tugs Buck’s collar to the side, mouthing at the bare skin. “Can I? Can we? Ohhh god.” Buck’s fingers curl around the hem of Eddie’s shirt, blunt nails scraping against the skin.
~~~~~
Eddie squeezes his eyes shut and he clenches around Buck, arching off the bed. Milky white spurts onto his abs, stray droplets landing on the sheets. Buck continues grinding against him until he sinks, slack and fucked out, to a boneless, sated heap.
He starts to pull out, afraid the overstimulation will be too much, but Eddie makes an uncoordinated grab for his wrist. “Stay.”
Buck arches a brow, unsure if he really means what he’s asking for. Eddie swallows hard, nodding vigorously. Buck greedily takes the permission and runs with it, fucking into Eddie, drawing out delicious mewls that will echo in his mind for eternity.
thanks for the tag @cavillscurls @wannab-urs @schnarfer @mermaidgirl30 💙
here's a snippet from my 'joel saving you from a qz guard - alley way fuck' -
Your shackled hands rest on your belly as he steps closer. He reaches for the chain between the cuffs and jiggles your locked hands. "Didn' know you were cuffed. I don' got any keys on me." Sincere eyes wash over you, infused with energic ferocity from saving your life. "It's okay," you reply, your tongue peaking out the corner of your mouth. "I'm more worried I don't have a proper way to thank you for saving me." He flits his wolfish eyes to yours, tugging lightly on the chain again before pensively looking down the alley. "There migh' be a way," he says brazenly, a playful brow arching toward his hairline. "If you're willin'."
NPS Photo of Mount Rainier with a portion of Mowich Lake Road viewed from Tolmie Peak in 1961 (Eunice Lake is in the foreground with Mowich Lake in the distance).
Mowich Lake Road, like other park roads, was initially planned as part of an “around-the-mountain” road system. Mowich Lake Road starts in the northwest corner of the park and was intended to connect to Westside Road, which starts from the southwest corner. The two roads were never completed due to budget constraints and the rugged topography of the mountain. Constructed from 1929-1934, Mowich Lake Road remains a six-mile long spur road (reached via SR165) and is a discontiguous portion of the Mount Rainier National Historic District. Original features along the road include one stone retaining wall and 39 rustic culverts with mortared stone headwalls.
Tumblr media
Mount Rainier National Park Archives Photo of the Mowich Entrance Dedication in 1933.
Mowich Lake Road was dedicated in 1933 at the Mowich Lake Entrance (now at Paul Peak Trailhead). At the dedication, a log memorial was constructed in honor of Dr. William Fraser Tolmie who visited Mount Rainier a hundred years earlier in 1833 on a botanizing trip. The log memorial was intended to be incorporated into an entrance arch. The arch was never completed and the memorial no longer exists. Footage of the Mowich Lake Road dedication event can be viewed at: https://go.nps.gov/MMem-MowichDedication
Tumblr media
NPS Photo of the current Mowich Lake Road Entrance at Paul Peak Trailhead, 8/17/23.
While dedicated in 1933, delays due to construction and then WWII limited access and Mowich Lake Road did not open to vehicle traffic until July 1955. Have you traveled the historic Mowich Lake Road?
